Omg. We stopped here with the intention to going to McDonald's on our way home to Ohio. So glad we changed our mind when we saw it. The breakfast burrito is absolutely incredible. That tomato jam is 10/10. Other meal we ordered was a Club sandwich & fresh cut fries which was also great! Tucked in a small strip mall is this nice little bistro style restaurant. We had breakfast there. You place your order at the counter and they bring the food out. The decor is in the modern-country look. Their service was a little slow, but friendly. The prices are moderate. We ordered biscuits and gravy and their signature breakfast burrito. Both dishes were excellent and made to order fresh. The biscuits looked and tasted house made. The signature burrito was stuffed with delicious items such as - avocado, egg, potato, cheese and tomato jam. The tomato jam- with a hint of cinnamon really gave the burrito an excellent flavor. Nice little breakfast/lunch spot near Kentucky Arts Distillery. Stopped here before our tasting for a quick breakfast. I loved the choices offered. I had the Avocado toast with fruit and hubs had the omelette with the three meats (can't remember name) - delicious! It's order at the counter and food brought out. Great little place I found (due to Yelp!) that is near a distillery we are touring. Has a great relaxed atmosphere. Very cozy. Mismatched tables and chairs. You order at the counter and they deliver your food and drinks. We shared a homemade cinnamon roll which they warmed up and served before our meals were served. I had the Signature Burrito. It it is stuffed with ingredients. It was good except it had tomato jam in it, which was a little sweet and not something i care for in my burrito. My wife had eggs, bacon, and taters. The bacon was some kind of smoked bacon and crispy. Very good. Also the taters were very nicely seasoned and perfectly roasted. I had coffee, but found it pretty bland and could do for an upgrade. In an attempt to find a local business for brunch, the original one chosen had a 1 hour waitlist. That definitely tells you it's good if people will wait. However, given we had driven over an hour and were now hangry, we needed somewhere close and quick. Another online review source gave this place high marks as it was here or the chain breakfast restaurant closer to where we started. Called in to hear that they were steadily busy but not crazy. The GPS confused us because the sign on where to turn and what the GPS said didn't match, which made us miss the turn. This quaint little cafe is tucked in the corner of a small strip mall. It looks like it used to be part of a drive thru take out place before as there was a drive up window and an unconnected order menu board. This is ideal spot for the local neighborhood and you can tell it's well liked as there was a steady stream of patrons in/out for sit down and take out. They had a cute little breakfast bar with pastries that is ideal for a grab and go thing. The bar has bourbon barrel seats which definitely keeps you in the KY atmosphere. We arrived a little close to 1230pm. There were a couple tables ready to sit at but had to ask for someone to clean up. The table next to us had a small family seated before us. We noticed that although the table top was cleaned, the chairs and floor with the crumbles from the Littles was not swept up. Although it wasn't filthy, it was a little distracting when we realized the next person who sat down didn't realize they sat on food. The staff are either high school or early college students. All were pleasant and helpful. Hubby ordered the biscuits and gravy. When I asked why he didn't order any sides he said we were already rung up our order that didn't give him a chance to ask. Of course, that's also his fault for not speaking up (haha). My order was the French Toast which was supposed to come with a bourbon Maple syrup and pecans. Not a big pecan fan so it wasn't a big deal it was missing but there wasn't even a hint of bourbon detected. The extra egg and sausage ordered was perfect and a good choice for sides. It's just too bad they didn't include it as part of the order. My suggestion would be to order the classic if you want a traditional big breakfast. The steel cut oatmeal bowls looked appealing and good portion. The same with the beignets they offer. The gravy was a disappointment. Although not a bad flavor, when you've grown up with SOS style gravy the expectations are a bit high. From what it tasted the gravy is more of a chicken base than a sausage based flavoring that we're used to enjoying. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but helpful to know if you are expecting what we did. Overall, it is in hopes that Hardin County opens up something like this place for us to enjoy closer to home. If you're in Oldham County,this may be a good option for a quaint weekend place that's not insanely busy with decent food and service. read more

Hidden gem in Crestwood! After moving the last several weeks, LeeB & I have started venturing out to see what's in our new neighborhood. How lucky for us that Yelp recommended Wilder's Cafe for breakfast/lunch! We stopped by this morning and was happily surprised at this unassuming cafe tucked in the corner of a shopping center at Hwy 146 & 329 Bypass. The set-up is fast casual with plenty of socially distanced seating. The menu is on a chalkboard above the casheir and a nice sized bakery case held delectable cookies and other treats. You order at the cashier and they bring your food to you. We decided to go super sweet and both chose the Bluegrass French Toast which is served with whipcream, bourbon maple syrup and pecans. Absolutely delectable and we both cleaned out plates. We ordered a side of beignets that came out piping hot, fluffy and soft. Not being able to say "No" to chocolate chip cookies, we took two of the big ones home! Yes, we will be back at Wilder's again and plan to try the omeletes! read more

We decided to check this place out for breakfast today. The dining room was full when we arrived but a table opened up right after we ordered. We had a breakfast sandwich, French toast, steel cut oats, and the skinny. All of the food was excellent. The only rub for us was the service. They seemed to be short staffed. It took quite a while to get our food. I'll cut them some slack because it was the Sunday brunch rush. Overall it was great food and we'll be back to have it again. This is THE brunch spot in Oldham County! I haven't had anything at Wilder's that I haven't loved and honestly I don't think anything like that exists on the menu. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food and the staff is very friendly. The omelette's are very good and the home potatoes that come with it are crunchy & seasoned just right. I'm so glad we tried this new restaurant in town! It's nicely decorated (no one would know it was formerly a Taco Bell and other places) and has a great vibe to it. I had the chicken salad in a croissant. It came with chips but you could upgrade with fries or fruit. My son had the tomato basil soup (dairy free). Both were great! They serve breakfast and lunch. Stopped by here during a visit to the Crestwood area. This little restaurant reminds me of something in a Hallmark movie. We were able to drive to pick window and get menus. What a great lunch menu, and breakfast. We ordered The Grotto, the Turkey, Bacon, Avocado and the Benedictine & Bacon. We parked in the lot, they waved when our order was ready. We were blown away by the food and service. Trying to continue to support small local businesses. SAVE your money and go to McDonalds. I just left! Service was non existent with the kitchen staff eating lunch in the center table of the floor and hanging out with friends at the table in the front window. The menu is typed up and printed on white paper. The chicken salad sandwich was "on a buttery croissant " only to be served in some dense loaf bread. When I commented on the croissant not being served, was told they didn't have them anymore and didn't change the menu. Honestly, 5 minutes in front of your printer could have taken care of that. Or, how about the cashier staying they no longer served them. I asked from crackers, the lady never came back to the table to confirm or deny If they had any. But she had time to sit with friends at a window table. We could not get drink refills. My husband and I wanted to support some local place. We ordered Biscuits and gravy, fruit bowl and a combo that had bacon, eggs, potatoes and toast. And an iced mocha coffee. We walked across place to find a table and floors were very sticky as well as the table and chairs. Either wasn't clean or their cleaner isn't what they should be using as it's leaving a residue. Food did come out hot and in a very reasonable time. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy was broken and curdled. The fruit (honeydew) was rock hard like not ripe. Bacon was very chewy, beef jerky consistency. Flavor was undetermined- we could tell it was smacked but had another weird flavor. Eggs were fine. Toast was hard- like old toast. Coffee was bitter for a mocha coffee. I hate leaving bad reviews but this place certainly didn't live up to all the positive reviews... read more

Was at Yew Del and this was the closest place that wasn't fast food so we thought we'd give it a try. Got there at 2 pm and they close at 3 so it wasn't busy. Mainly a breakfast and brunch place but the have a few lunch options. I got the ultimate grilled cheese and my wife got the BLT. The grilled cheese was a LOT of cheese which I was absolutely okay with and had really good bacon in it as well. Came with a side of chips. The only thing they could improve is to give bread options. This place is fantastic! Cute little cafe in Crestwood. We stopped by after church on a Sunday. My wife and mom had a omelet, I had French toast with a side of bacon and eggs. Toast was thick with a premium syrup. Bacon was thick and the eggs were fresh and cooked well. My mother in law had a club sandwich that she loved. It was huge full of thick cut turkey and ham with all the fixings like cheese, fresh tomatoes/lettuce. My mom even got some beignets to go. The staff was friendly and the dining room was clean.
