Being that I just recently reviewed a competitor it seemed appropriate I reviewed here as well (in no small part because this quickly became the back up; let's bail out of here plan). Much like the other place, it is a bit of a dive bar and it is worth saying, there is nothing wrong with a dive bar. Many a great one, has been conceived as a result of a dive bar; be it in the parking lot or after a ride home, and no I can't name names but I'm sure there are at least a few. Offering a good variety of burgers and beers this place has a bit to offer. More than just a Coors or Bud, they have Mammoth brewing and several selections from the bottle so it is anyone's beer game here. Also close to a dozen burger offerings, several sandwiches (pay attention to the spelling here, if they were that good, well you should know) and they're also decent. From the Apps part of the menu we've partaken of the tater skins and the nachos (sans meat options), they're fair enough but only just that, fair; along the lines of ball park or fuel station style nacho. Barkeep and the cooks are friendly and personable and never had a complaint in that arena. Bottom line is, North Valleys does not have a lot to offer and if your hankering for a night out this is an alright way to go. Would I say it is a go to or top notch, of course not; but it'll do in a pinch and not at all in a bad way. They'll take care of you just fine here, but again, it's just fine.

It's pretty small, and has very retro vibe, like it's been there since the 40's. But the food and the service made is worth the drive, and we can't wait to go back! I had the breakfast burrito, which is HUGE. I could only eat half of it! My husband had the meat lovers omelette, and it was crammed with four meats. Their breakfast potatoes were really good too! The cream sauce they used was not a pepper type but so flavourful, but Cholula takes care of everything. The home fries looked very good, I will need to try that next visit, not knocking their hash browns that was pretty fantastic also. The appearance of the fried steak was pretty flat but it was a pounded steak and not ground meat which made it pretty delicious., needless to say the plate was pretty empty after I got done. My neighbor had a steak and eggs with the home fries is why I noticed the home fries which looked pretty good. This is a pretty homey and inviting interior and it seems a lot of locals frequent this cafe, a good sign indeed. Definitely worth a visit if in the vicinity.

My experience was quite different, we had a party of six celebrating a very special occasion. Thinking this Steakhouse is rated 4 stars we thought we couldn't go wrong, that was our first mistake. Of the first 5 salads brought out they had to take em back because of the 'off' odor. Our server explained that maybe it was the radishes (not what I would expect from a four star steakhouse). When the entrées came out three people had ordered filet mignon's, which I was told was very tasty. One of the patrons had ordered New York strip (three of us confirmed that) and was given and charged for a filet mignon rather than taking it back to the kitchen and giving the patron what they ordered. It was unfortunate, but the service in my opinion was not four-star they did check on us occasionally and kept the water glasses full and 'maybe' they even asked if everything was OK. Not wanting to spend $60 for a steak (I was a guest) I ordered the seafood roast. It turned out to be a very tasty bisque, but a tasty bowl of soup shouldn't cost $35.00. Give em try if you want to gamble on a great experience. My recommendation is to go to Western Steakhouse, enjoy the much better ambience, 120% better experience for maybe 10% more. You do you, all six of us know where we'll go next time.

If ordering un-toasted bagels, or a bagel box to go..they're fine. (That's what I did last visit) If you want a toasted bagel, bring your own toaster. They don't toast the bagels, they just quickly warm them, so you're left with a gooey bagel and sticky cream cheese because it melts and soaks into the un-toasted bread. I felt like I was eating wet play dough. On this visit I asked them to redo my bagels and tried to point out that they weren't toasted. Nobody looked at them, and I really didn't get much response except "sorry", as they kept working on what I will assume were online orders since there were no customers waiting. After a bit, the manager spoke up and asked one of the employees to redo my order and turn up the toaster ...very strange encounter since nobody was really talking to me or looking at me...the in-house customer. I felt like I was interrupting them and in their way. I kinda got the feeling they weren't going to remake my order because they just kept working on their to-go orders with backs turned to me. I thought about just walking away and leaving the bagels on the counter because the delay was awkwardly long before the manager spoke up. They did turn up the toaster up to remake my bagels, but they shot through the machine just as quickly. I think their toaster rushes the bagels through too quickly, so although they turned the heat up, it didn't have time to actually toast! On my first visit they were packed, so I thought the undercooked bagel was due to the rush. There were hardly any customers this time though, so there really isn't any excuse, especially since I asked for a redo. This location has shown me that not all Einstein' Bagels are the same...what a bummer. I was hoping this would be my new bagel spot after moving to Sparks. Positives: it's clean and has plenty of seating. I haven't left a review or even opened my Yelp app in so long, and it feels awkward to have it be a negative review, but I felt like I needed to warn other Yelpers. I was surprised to see how many others have left negative reviews for this location as well, but also...not surprised. Please don't waste your money at this Einstein's location. Side note for Einstein's...are you ever going to remove that raggedy looking realtor lock from your door handle? It's been there since you opened and looks more and more torn up each time I visit.
