I'm giving 3 stars because they wouldn't seat us at a table that had a sign saying "for 5 or more ". We had five and the hostesses said it was for six. They wanted to jam 5 people, 3 of whom were big guys, into a 4 top. We ended up in another table that said 5 or more but not the one with the good view that we wanted. We got crabs that were excellent. The service from the wait staff and bar were excellent. I Just don't understand why they wouldn't seat us where we wanted to sit since nobody sat there until we were almost finished. read more

We had an amazing experience at Sneaky Pete's! One of the coolest parts was pulling up by boat, which made the whole visit even more memorable. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The snow crab legs were fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The crab cake was one of the best we've ever had--loaded with crab and seasoned perfectly. The soup was rich and delicious, and the empanadas were crispy, fresh, and absolutely amazing. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. Whenever my brother and I are in town we make it a goal to hit Sneaky Pete's. On a side note, if it is off season make sure to go early because it might close early keeping in mind that it is located in a gazebo on a dock. Now you go to SP's for 4 reasons: Atmosphere, beer, cream of crab soup, and the food. We have yet to try anything that wasn't great tasting and the soup is amazing (my brother calls it a meal in itself). They have a full bar and offer their own brewery's beers. We generally sit at the bar and the service is excellent, but we've also gotten to know the bartender over the years and she is great. Middle of the afternoon, soup and appetizers. Almost evening, soup and one of the handhelds or signatures. Touristy, yes. Fake touristy, no. You get the great food level of Hooper's but in a more laid back atmosphere. read more

(July 2025) My wife and I arrived in Ocean City today just in time for lunch. Upon walking into Hooper's, the hostess directs us to go through the back door, down the stairs, and over the bay. At the end, we ended up here at Sneaky Pete's. This has a fun laid-back beach atmosphere, which is apropos. For lunch, I ordered the Signature Sandwich, which is a crab cake on a pretzel roll ($28). I upgraded my chips for fries. My wife got the regular crab cake sandwich ($23). She upgraded her chips for the corn on the cob (additional $3). Tori was our server and she was great. Lunch was excellent, and glad we made it in for our first meal on our latest Ocean City trip. read more

Just for the experience of dining on a docked boat with a bunch of friends is a great experience. The food were so-so, for me nothing special, and the servers were nice. Some kids meal include a frisbee (which serves as a plate). They offered free picture but the photographer doesn't count "1, 2, 3" so some of us were not ready for a one-shot only opportunity. So of course, we didn't buy any picture offering, I even forgot the free photo on the table, our faces were too small and unrecognizable anyway. LOL. The walkway smell on the side of the resto is not inviting. 18% tip already included on the check. It's a great place for instagrammable pics! I've been going to Hoopers for years with my family. Tonight the wait for Hoopers was over an hour so we opted to try Sneaky Pete's instead. The menu is a bit different than Hoopers but they still have my favorite seafood platter, which unlike Hoopers it is served with fries and corn on the cob. Food was delicious! I highly suggest the boom boom shrimp appetizer or one of their soups to start! The bartender also made the best orange crush I've had while in OC! They were awesome crab cakes. A lot of folks go for the all you can eat crab. It looked good, but I'm not a fan of working that hard for a little bit of meat. Went there for dinner. I had the 2lbs crab legs. They were so meaty. The order came with corn on the cob. For the appetizer, we ordered the steam class bucket. They were good size. My son ordered the all you can eat crab. He had 4 trays because they were so good. The waitress made sure we had everything we needed. Drinks were good. They have mixed drinks and beer. Came here for a dinner trip. Really wanted blue crab and had planned to go to Hooper's. Unfortunately, Hoopers couldnt take us for a while. While my group of 4 decided on what to do, Michelle approached and suggested we give Sneaky Pete's a try. We decided to check it out. It was CUTE! Right on the water. Perfect ambiance. Probably not the best for intoxicated people or folx with bad balance since you have to walk down a planked deck to get to the restaurant. The menu is a tiny bit different than Hooper's but they still offer the good stuff that you would come for. One of the members of my party was even able to order an appetizer from the Hooper's side and have it bought over to our table. I got the AYCE crab and they kept coming and they were always hot even if some of them were kinda light. The service was amazing. Sometimes simple is the best thing. Every time we drove over the bridge, we just had a fascination looking at this little restaurant on a pier. When my husband and I stopped in, we had a choice of sitting in the restaurant/bar area or in a boat tied to the dock. What a genius way to squeeze in more seating. I really do love Sneaky Pete's. It's one of those places many people have come time and time again and revisit every year. Staff is always pretty friendly (in Hooper's and here) and food / drinks are solid. Obviously crabs are very good. They used to have baskets of claws (but not on menu anymore), but even the non seafood items are solid. Prime Rib Sandwich, Hamburger, and Pulled Pork were surprisingly good (and wasn't expecting them). Really though, you're paying for a wonderful atmosphere of a pier house type of place with the summer breeze blowing, and the view of the water....and it's worth every single penny. You're on vacation, and this place (which is very unassuming), might become your favorite as it's not very crowded. Went to the first ever Jellyfish Festival in OC and stopped at Sneaky Pete's on the way home. While some may like to eat in the barn at Hooper's inside I love eating crabs on the bay (backyard of Hooper's). I'm a sucker for the water view. Enjoyed my basket of crab claws for $9.00 and 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp $12.00 (the shrimp were actually big). The crabby pretzel for $11.00 I probably will not order again the pretzel which is covered in a CRAB DIP SPREAD basically is a pretzel with not any crab on it. LOL They don't offer any other IPA beers other than the FIn City beer which they make in house. The only beer my friend and I like is "Poor Man'' ABV 6.6%. Our server Acacia was phenomenal, very attentive, friendly, helpful and personable. We didn't want for anything. The all you can eat crabs were reasonably priced and very meaty, a crab lovers heaven. We got way more then our money's worth. The kids will also enjoy Sneaky Petes because you are seated on an actual boat to eat when dining in and the whole table is their canvas for coloring. Going in knowing of the "tourist restaurant" reputation didn't prepare me enough. We were seated at the boat tables which were great and the most redeeming part of the experience. Our table got mojitos and waters. At a $9 price point, the mojito was small compared to local competitors but was tasty. My fiancee ordered the Nantucket Bucket listed at $38 (the same as the all you can eat crab option). The menu lists this item as: 1 lb. lobster, snow crab legs, clams, mussels, shrimp and corn. Sounds great! But what we received wasn't. The lobster was what you would expect, one small bunch of snow crab legs, one mussel and one empty mussel shell, two clams, two shrimp, and an ear of corn. These items were not freshly prepared nor did they come in the volume expected for the price tag. I planned on getting boardwalk food layer thus only got the pulled pork sandwich for myself. The meat was dry and a small amount of bbq was squirted on top. The bun was soggy on the bottom as if it had sat in water. The cole slaw was served warm and was off putting. Service as adequate though I didn't receive flatware even after asking despite there only being 2 other tables. I do not recommend this location and certainly wouldn't go here again. read more

This place has a very fun vibe! It was nice to be out on the water under the shade. Our server was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. The food was good - we had the empanadas and fish tacos. They were creative and tasty, although the sauce on top of the empanadas was pretty salty (it may have had old bay in it?) For the price, we would have liked 3 tacos instead of 2. Also, beware the drink prices. The fresh pineapple frozen drink was $20 and I couldn't tell if they had put the rum in. I definitely didn't notice the dark rum floater that it was supposed to have. We'd definitely return, but probably not for drinks. read more

I do not always eat crabs but when I do I eat them on a pirate ship. At first I was excited about eating lunchtime crabs at sneaky petes. It's one of the few places open for AYCE crabs on the water for lunch. When I came in (note: it's behind Hoopers on the docks), they sat me on a barge attached to the dock that looked like a pirate ship, and I excitedly texted my dining companion that we were seated in the pirate ship cause I am mentally about ten years old, he ended up replying with "oh good, for a second there I thought we were going to have a normal meal for once." So there's that, I guess not everyone loves meals in a pirate ship, including the guy next to me who slowly turned green and boat wakes got the best of him (this place is conveniently located next to a jet ski rental place on the water so expect a little motion in the ocean with your meal). We ended up ordering a dozen large crabs because it seemed more economical than the AYCE option ($31 for medium and large crabs), hushpuppies and a pitcher of honey wheat beer. Honestly, I thought the crabs were quite good and sizeable and not too overloaded with their old bay like seasoning. The beer tasted a little skunked. I only made it through two crabs and about 5 claws, when I felt a little ill and stopped my crab feast. It's a little unusual because well I never give up on crabs and also after years of sailing, surfing, living on the water, and kayaking, I have my sea legs. I felt ill throughout the day and well into the night, without any other food in my system either the beer or crabs might be suspect. My friend was ill as well. So be warned, the next time you eat crabs on a pirate ship keep the crab shell bucket close. read more

We happened to eat at Sneaky Pete's by accident. Our reservations were for Hooper's but the wait was still 30mins. As we grabbed a beer and walked around we took a walk along the dock to Sneaky Pete's. They said they had a table open so we took it. Sneaky Pete's consists of (2) boats docked with tables and a small building at the end of the pier. They have most of the same items that Hoopers has except the all you can eat crabs is just crabs and corn. When you have the all you can eat at Hoopers you get the fried chicken, hush puppies etc.. On the end of the table there is a flag that is used to let your server know what you need. Depending on where you have the flag your server will know if you need to order or want the check. There is a parking meter on the end of the table that collects money to allow less fortunate people to come to the beach. Our server came over quickly to take our drink order. They have a beer special that is $5 for the first beer and $2.50 for the rest. You get to keep the cup also. A few of us ordered the basket of crab claws and it was only $7.99! This was such a fantastic deal. When the baskets came they were overflowing with claws. When I go back I'm just going to order (3) of these for my meal. The scallops wrapped in bacon were large and very tasty. The main dinners that we chose were mostly seafood combos & one crab cake sandwich. They were average at best. All in all it's a cool place to grab some apps and drinks but if you are looking for a really good seafood dinner this prob isn't the place. read more
