Truffle fries appetizer (we got half of them with no cheese for me)

The food is AMAZING!!! Went in the afternoon on a Friday which was a great time because there was no wait and service was super fast. We all ordered something different and everyone's food was delicious and presented beautifully. I had the peppercorn crusted filet mignon with truffle mashed potatoes and broccolini and it did not disappoint! Truffle fries were delicious and the wings were really good too! The lemon pepper wings were especially good. The Cajun pasta was a hit and so were the burgers for the kids. The chef at this place is definitely the real deal.

Cane here to celebrate my 42nd Birthday and I had an amazing time. The drinks were delicious along with the Bang Bang Shrimp. There was seating behind the bar of VP which gave u a beautiful panoramic view of the ocean. Service was excellent and the colors of the restaurant give off very much "oceanic" I loved it!

The ambiance here is beautiful. The hotel and restaurant were fully renovated recently and the restaurant has large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the beach and ocean. Our waiter was very friendly and competent. However. the kitchen has some difficulty with the timing of the food. Two out of three of the kids entrees came out way before all of the other food. My daughter was almost finished eating before we all got our food. I had the Tuna Poke and the Brussels Sprouts. The tuna poke was flavorful but I prefer my tuna to be in smaller chunks. The Brussels sprouts were delicious and so flavorful. The kids meals were decent. I like that they had the option to sub in fruit salad instead of the fries (which were not good). My older son had the Fisherman's Stew. The portion size was huge and he thought it tasted good.

The food is a tad pricey! It tasted good. Service is decent. Our initial engagement was less than ideal. However, our server was friendly and attentive. Value is OK. It has a very nice view. The place is very clean and the colors and decor are tastefully done. There was fun live music. Parking-there is ample parking in front of the hotel. Final thoughts- if you are staying at the hotel and feel lazy to check out other places, and if you don't mind feeling heavy after an hr it is worth a try.

I stayed at the newly renovated Hilton Garden and had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Delicious omelette with potatoes and toast. Plus ocean view. Very nice ambiance. One of the best omelets I had. Highly recommend.

My wife and I went here as a dinner date last weekend. Very nice setting and a great view of the beach. I have filet mignon mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. My wife had crab cakes with the same side. It was delicious. The host was very friendly and our server was on the ball through the entire meal. One little snag, my wife wanted decaf coffee. Server said there was an equipment problem and didn't have any. A few minutes later he came back with my regular coffee and also he taken the time to get decaf for my wife. Will definitely visit there again.

A whole weekend of perfect weather, food and hospitality. Ended with a great lunch and great service. Barbara was sweet, kind and informative! Can't wait to be back in August!

One of the great things about the wait is that the restaurant is butt up against a surf shop full of curiosities. We were promptly seated and given a drink menu with many options. We were seated in an open air spot on the water at a pub table. The menu is diverse with many options for different tastes. We ordered the fries to share as an appetizer. It was an insane portion of hand cut potatoes loaded with all of the toppings indicated on the menu. Three of us decided to split two pizzas and an order of wings for dinner, and the other ordered sandwich. The food came out, piping hot, and it was delicious. Now, 50 years later, Phillips is gone and many establishments advertise their Crabs as the best in OC. Having not been here since 2012, I need to scour the reviews to find where we could get the best take out seafood especially Maryland Crabs. Lo and behold, just steps away from our Courtyard Marriott is the Crab Stop. It's before season so many places are still closed but the Owner answered when I called, had a great sense of humor, and happily took my order for a designated pick up time. We arrived 10 minutes early and they had just completed the order, packed it up, and we were out the door in minutes. This is a Father/Son establishment. Dave (?) the Father is 85 and his son Tom (?) run this fine eatery. It's built for take out and there is no disappointment. We ordered 6 large crabs, 1# of Lump Crab and 2 ears of corn. Within minutes our table was covered with crab, crab shells, Old Bay, and we savored every minute of the delicious fresh sweet crab meat. Look no further than Crab Stop to enjoy the best crabs that OC has to offer and the friendliness and service of these two gentlemen.

Our main motivation for visiting was to see Jordan and Cowan, both of whom previously worked at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. Jordan noticed us first and came over to say hello and share an update, and Cowan followed shortly after to do the same. I enjoyed two Sazeracs on the rocks for $10 each; unique to Hooked, this iconic New Orleans cocktail is a spirit-forward blend of Elijah Craig rye whiskey, aromatic bitters, a sugar cube, and an absinthe rinse, finished with a bright lemon twist. We also shared the happy hour wood-fired grilled oysters Reggiano with butter, garlic, blackening parmesan cheese, and salt for $19, though they tasted very salty. Additionally, I had the happy hour lobster roll on a toasted buttered brioche roll for $21, substituting the french fries with a side of coleslaw. It tasted quite similar to the lobster roll at Off The Hook in Bethany Beach. I finished my meal with a happy hour draft Evo Lot 3 beer for $6. Our bartender, Jon L., served us very well throughout the visit. The total bill was $128 excluding gratuity, which featured a 3% credit card surcharge of $3.57. After applying a $50 gift letter discount, the final bill was reduced down to $81. We all agreed that we will certainly return to visit Jordan and Cowan again.

Not much has changed with the ambiance - bar atmosphere, with each time there being a live music act when we came in to eat. As a party of 10 the last two years (a yearly trip) we were sat in front of the music. Not my favorite place as it's hard to have a conversation but the music was good. We had a younger waiter take care of us - we put in some drinks - I ordered a blackberry bourbon tea. It wasn't very sweet or flavorful. Almost like it was watered down. Meh. We put in several apps to start our meal: crab pierogis, cheesesteak egg rolls and crab dip. The crab pierogis sounded good - but the sauce on them or around them was watery. Another person in our party got the crab corn chowder- it was watery. Chowders are thicker, not thin. The cheesesteak egg rolls were good - had a nice flavor to them. The crab dip was very very flavorful - maybe one of the best on the island I have had. For my meal I ordered the Baltimore bird which is fried chicken topped with crab dip. It was a HUGE piece of chicken and looked great -- then I took a bite. The chick was raw inside. Hoping it was just a part of the breast I bit into another part - middle chicken was pink and raw. What makes matters even worse was the Heinz ketchup bottle on the table - billed as a Pittsburgh bar - did not have Heinz in it. Ketchup was way too sweet - definitely off brand. We shared desserts as a table - the brownie Ala mode and the tower brownie cheesecake. Both were.. well small. Good taste but, limited. Again - just ok overall.

Helpful counter gal helped us make choices as we are BLUE CRAB VIRGINS! We chose 1 1/2 dozen medium to large crabs for two people. Based on other reviews, I also ordered a single crab cake, corn and hush puppies for the man. I asked her to send someone out to demonstrate how to open the crabs, and she said absolutely! After a short (seemed really long) wait sipping Coke and water with our toes in the sand under the paper covered table, our crabs were steamed and brought out. A cheerful young man showed us how to open the crabs and which parts we wanted to remove and discard. Armed with the provided mallet and pick, we went to work. On first smash, husband sprayed me with crab juice, so I donned a charming and attractive plastic bib for the remainder of the meal. Technique improved with practice, but I found it to be a lot of work for a tiny amount of meat. Very flavorful, and improved by dipping in drawn butter and old bay seasoning, my little pile of crab meat was shoveled into my mouth with a fork as no pieces were very large. I made time to try the crab cake and munch on the corn in between wrestling with the blue crabs. Crab cake was not as much crab as filler, although tasty enough, it wasn't the best I have had. The corn was stellar, not mushy or overcooked. His hush puppies were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. A generous serving, we took half home for the air fryer. We devoured every last bite of the crab though! A real treat occurred when we were nearly finished with our meal, the owner Rob came out to chat. Fascinated by his slip trip and fall prevention device, we had a long conversation about his inventions and marketing them. He shared his business card and even demonstrated the wet floor verbal indicator. Husband really enjoyed meeting him and talking (engineer to engineer). It made the day!

We ordered the seafood combo that included six hard-shell crabs, three pounds of snow crab legs, a half-pound of shrimp, corn, and hush puppies. The hard-shell crabs were decent, although they seemed slightly oversteamed. The meat in the legs was practically fused to the shell, making them difficult to eat. The snow crab legs were good, but the shrimp were noticeably undercooked, which made peeling them nearly impossible. There were a few bright spots. The beer was reasonably priced at $4.50 a pint, and the hush puppies were excellent--arguably the best part of the entire meal. The corn, however, was tough and seemed past its prime. For the roughly $145 we spent on the combo, I expected a better overall dining experience. Sadly, this seems to be the standard at many seafood restaurants these days: higher prices without a corresponding increase in quality. And while it's a minor issue compared to the food, the deck seating chairs were surprisingly uncomfortable and felt out of place for a restaurant charging these prices. Overall, the meal wasn't terrible, but it fell well short of expectations given the cost.
