First time here - and in OC - visiting from New Jersey. Casual spot by the boardwalk, we saw the foods in the menu online and decided to stop for a quick lunch. Even though the outdoor area was all right the environment wasn't the best, same for the service, was average at best. We had sodas and 2 strawberry margaritas - veeery sweet and very little alcohol in it, not the best. We shared all the foods... chicken tacos were decent and it was probably the only "good thing" at the table. We had chicken tenders which were very bland and beef nachos, the sauce was good but the meat had no flavor whatsoever, it was like biting on nothing. Coconut shrimp was well fried but not much flavor either, sauce that came with it was decent but nothing too crazy. Maybe not the best of days to have come here but would give it another shot if close by. read more

We stayed at the Americana Hotel, last weekend, so we went down for drinks in the evening. When going in we got a wristband after being carded. We walked over to the "Crush Bar" and there were two couples at the bar and the bartender. We tried to find a clean spot but the whole bar hadn't been wiped down at all so everything was wet. I grabbed some napkins and wiped down a section. The bartender never greeted us or acknowledged us during this. I got up and walked around the little bar to get a menu which was soaking wet when I peeled it off the bar and we looked the menu over and decided what we wanted. The bartender talked to the other guests for at least 5 minutes and then they all took shots together and she said "I'm usually way ahead at this point in the night" and they all laughed and kept chatting. Finally she looks over at us and asks what we're getting. I begin to tell her I'll have a key lime crush, but she literally cut me off and turned back to the other people to I tell them something else and they all laughed and talked again for another minute before she looks back at me and says "what did you say you wanted?", so I told her again I'd like a key lime crush and she asked if I even had a wristband on, which is the only way to even get into the bar. I held up my arm and she was like okay, then looked at my husband and asked what he wanted. At this point he was so insulted by her attitude and poor customer service and the way she cut me off, so he said forget about it and we left. She rolled her eyes and just kept chatting with the other two couples. I'm not sure why she didn't want to serve us or why she made us feel like we were ruining her fun by existing, but she apparently didn't want/need our money. We walked down to a taco place and had a few really great cocktails and the bartender was so kind and checked on us multiple times and asked where we were from and it was a great experience. I recently visited this establishment with a group of four, and unfortunately the experience fell far below expectations. We ordered three strawberry daiquiris, all of which were disappointing in both flavor and quality. We then ordered chicken tenders and fries; the fries arrived cold, and the chicken had an unpleasant white, pasty texture inside. To their credit, these items were removed from the bill. I ordered a Bloody Mary afterward, but it was undrinkable -- I couldn't get through the first sip. This was also taken off the bill. The most concerning part of the visit came when it was time to pay. Two members of our group received $10 back on a $9.31 charge. When we asked about the remaining $0.69 in change, we were told, "We don't have coin change." At no point was this policy posted or communicated beforehand. Keeping customers' change without notice is not acceptable, and if this is happening all day to anyone paying cash, it becomes a serious issue. Overall, between the poor food and drink quality and the questionable cash-handling practice, this was not a fair or positive experience. --- read more

One of the few places along the boardwalk that was actually open. We stopped here for dinner one night. I'm pretty sure it wasn't our first time. Food- decent selection. Everyone in our party was able to find something, from burgers to crab legs. All food was good, on complaints on taste. Price- they add an extra 3% charge to all card purchases. A lot of places on the boardwalk do this, which always annoys me. We didn't find that out until the bill came. They also nickle and dimed us. We ordered the crab dip which is almost $20. Of course they give you 10 chips to enjoy with it. I asked for more and we were given a generous amount- what we should have been given originally. As I'm paying the bill I see a charge for the basket of chips- $6! Wowza! Again, we were never warned about a charge. Had I known it was that much, i would have eaten the rest of the dip with a fork. Prices for most dishes are higher than you would expect, but it is the boardwalk after all where they can get away with it. Someone in our party ordered crab legs. After it was delivered we asked about the tiny forks to help get the meat out. "We don't have any of those". You're on th beach, serving crab legs and you don't have the tiny forks!? Just, wow! Seems like something they should invest in if they're going to continue selling crab legs. Especially since they're relatively inexpensive. Service- there were two waitresses with only three tables. You would think they would be on top of things. Both would disappear for long periods of time. Trying to ask for anything (refill, crab fork) meant you waited 15 to 20 mins until they randomly appeared again. With their busy season quickly approaching, they'll need to work on moving things along more than they did with us, otherwise they'll be slammed with pissed off customers waiting long periods for their food. read more

My friend and I stopped in last Friday evening. We sat at the bar which was pretty empty at that time. The restaurants/bar is right on the boardwalk in an excellent location for people watching. The inside is vibrant with a wrap around bar that is half inside and half outside. There is both outdoor patio seating and covered indoor seating. Unfortunately the woman who was working at the bar last Friday seemed to be in a bad mood. She slapped menus down in front of us and immediately walked away. We ordered the "sand in my butt" which sounded like a Miami vice. It came out looking pretty with fun sea animal plastic toppers. Unfortunately both of us could not finish our drinks due to there being big chunks of ice inside. I found myself crunching on my drink and it was hard to get down. It took us awhile to flag the bartender down for our check, she seemed to be friendly & communicative with everyone else at the bar but us. She also seemed to think our IDs were fake, although we are both almost 30 and from Maryland. Overall, I think this spot is great for a quick drink. I came to this restaurant with one other person. We first got there and waited 30 minutes for a server. Table next to us was a party of 5 who came 20 minutes after us and server was there almost immediately. I went up to the hostess stand to where she then told me she forgot about us. Server finally came took our orders. By this point table next to us already received drinks and appetizers. By this point it's an additional 30 minutes of waiting for our food and we are looking for the server in between this period to tell her we will pay for our drinks and we want to leave. Manager comes to tell us kitchen already made our food and we still need to pay. I'd like to see their definition of smothered - I barely saw or tasted anything. The Chicken Salad, which itself was good, was served in a stale Taco shell. Similar review on the crabby patty with not much crab on the burger. The quinoa/bean salad is a JOKE.. literally 2 tablespoons of a "side" and it's definitely been sitting there for a while. We decided to check out this place as my girlfriend really loves the sliders here. It was part of our anniversary trip to Ocean City Maryland. The sliders were still good but they changed how they used to be so you can only get three, now versus before you could get them in like a bucket. We came here for lunch and got the sliders, coconut shrimp for me and we got some drinks that were pretty good. Service was high energy and the atmosphere very beachy vibes as you'd expect for restaurants in the area. Things portion wise are a bit on the smaller side and they seem to charge extra for even basic add-ons. Overall four out of five I'm curious to try other offerings. read more

Stopped here for lunch while out on the beach. Like a moron I didn't bring my wallet so drinking wasn't possible without ID. It is good they ID though - so we sat out on the boards and ordered. Ordered a diet soda and a water - which came out and are in 90's size large cups - much appreciated. For the meal I ordered a crabby patty which is a burger with crab dip on top of it and cheese. Ordered the burger medium - which I didn't expect much from and upgraded to fries instead of the chips for the side. It took awhile for the items to come out but overall it was fast service and the waitress checked on us regularly. The burger was good - more on the medium-well side, but I really liked the crab dip element to it and would suggest this. The fries were of the Thrashers / Boardwalk variety and were very good. They may have been old / soggy but being hungry I didn't mind. Would grade this as a 4 - though if it wasn't in a convenient spot or if I wasn't starved I could see it being a 3/3.5 Recommended some of their drinks looked really good. We had a great time having lunch and some drinks here! Our bartender, Demarco, was awesome and made very good drinks. I got the fish bowl and my boyfriend tried a few of the crushes. We both loved them! We both got tacos for lunch (mahi mahi and chicken) and they were SO GOOD. Only thing that would have made them better would have been to have more than a spoonful of the quinoa/bean salad side. I liked the vibe here with the crush bar, umbrellas, and the decor. We ended up going back two days later so he could get another crush, but there was a different bartender and he said the cruah wasn't as good the second time. We wanted a quick meal on the boardwalk so decided to stop by here. Last year we ate at backshore brewing company. It confuses me because they're both connected and have the same bathrooms and the menu is almost the same, but with a few little differences. I think backshores menu is more limited and focused more on beer, so we went to hammerheads so we can have more food to pick from. I really wanted the sliders because I remembered them being good years ago. There was a little bit of a wait so we grabbed some drinks at the bar first. I got an orange crush which is Ocean city's signature drink. Very refreshing, and I liked the little animal stirrers they put in the drinks. They were out of the mako shark bites which I wanted. I got the sliders but they weren't as good as I remembered last time. They were pretty thin and plain. The coconut shrimp was good with the raspberry sauce but was a little overpriced I think for the amount you got. I did discover a new beer I liked there- natty boh strawberry lemonade. I also got a strawberry daiquiri that was good too. Overall I would say good place for drinks, food is meh. But there's not too many good places for food on the boardwalk so it was adequate. read more

I understand Ocean City is expensive but the food we got wasn't much to rave about and the drinks were all too sweet. I will say I usually stick with a vodka + seltzer but I wanted to be adventurous while I'm in a new place. Now, I know to stick with what I know to avoid the sugar rush/headache. We got the sliders for an appetizer, and they were pretty decent and they came with fries. I honestly should've just stuck with this. My boyfriend ordered the ahi tuna tacos and he wasn't a big fan. We like ahi tuna tacos but we felt we could make them better at home. Again, I know I'm paying for convenience but for $20, I would expect better quality food and more than a spoonful of the side that they offer with the tacos. For my lunch, I got the crabby grilled cheese. It's hard to mess up a grilled cheese and they did a good job, I just wish the bread was toastier. The grilled cheese was more floppy and so my filling kept falling out. My biggest pet peeve is the shrimp. 1 lb of shrimp for $25 (!!) and not even deveined. It may be a small thing to other people, but again. Price and quality are what matters and this place didn't live up to my expectations from everyone else raving about it. Had I stuck with the burger or Caesar wrap, I *probably* would've been happier. read more

I wish I could give it a 3.5. Our server was fantastic. Very personable and friendly. He recommended so good food and was spot on. Unfortunately the first people you see are the hostesses. These were 2 girls that have the personality of a table. No hello or how are you. They did not even ask "how many" they just stared at us. I eventually said table for 4. Really enjoyed this spot on the OC MD boardwalk. They have indoor and outdoor seating at tables and bars. Decent array of options on food and drink menus including vegetarian friendly items. They're drink menu includes a few fun drinks that come in buckets or special cups. Considering there were no prices on the drink menu we assumed prices would be high (because that's usually how things are, right?) but the prices were surprisingly very reasonable. I don't remember all the prices for what we got but I do remember we got a 32 oz mixed drink bucket and it was only 14 bucks! We actually came to Hammerheads twice in a couple days because we enjoyed it. Service is pretty quick, staff are friendly and it's a fun environment. One spot I like to visit while on the boardwalk. Always was a good spot for a quick bite to eat. Stopped here Sunday night after we got into town. We were seated fast and enjoyed an outside table together. Friendly service, good drinks. We ordered the steamer pot for 2 like we usually do since it's one of the best on the boardwalk here in OCMD. This time though, when the steamer pot came out we found several of the mussels were not open , 17 of them to be exact. We told our server about it and it was quickly fixed and a new batch was made for us. This is the first time we ever had an issue here but it was taken care of very quickly without any problems. Kitchen was backed up with orders since it was around 7:30pm so it's understandable that the kitchen was pushing orders fast. I'd still recommend hammerheads for the best filled and flavorful steamer pots in OCMD. read more

We had a great lunch yesterday of Maryland Crab Soup, so we had to stop back for a second day in a row and have lunch again. Today we have Maryland Crab Soup, I ordered a Crab Cake Sandwich and my partner had the Mahi Mahi Sandwich. Plus we had had plethora of drinks, Lemon Crush, Orange Crush, Patron Margarita, and I think that was it. The service is outstanding, servers are willing to answer questions, help out with a few suggestions here and there. The atmosphere is so laid back and relaxed. Normally when we go out of town we don't repeat visit so we can see a few places but we just had to come back for the drinks, food, and service at Hammerheads, The crab cake sandwich was a fried cake and had a generous portion of fresh crab meat, I wouldn't say it's the same as the crab cake I had at Harrison's on the Harbor last night, but it's definitely worth every penny. The Mahi Mahi was Phenomenal! Perfectly cooked, and amazingly flavorful. I recommend skipping the chips as they're packaged, their fresh cut fries are out of this world. Overall a great addition to the vacation stops, I would recommend to anybody. read more

The outdoor tables were nice but keep in mind when the live music is playing it's very loud. If you're on the sand for the day it's a great place for a beachy cocktail or crush and some finger foods.
