We were able to get a hold of someone, swung by for a tour, and feel incredibly confident our boys will love this place. McKenna walked us through, was incredibly thorough and answered all our questions. She even helped us set up our accounts so we could lock in the dates and moved some rooms around so the brothers can be next to each other. It was relieving to walk through the kennels and see that it wasn't a hectic bark fest of dogs going nuts. Looking forward to having this be our go to, if the boys end up coming home happy. Reinhardt wears his wags on his sleeves and if he likes a place, our whole car will shake with his tail wagging so we'll know real soon. I'm currently exploring daycare options for my boy and heard great things about Sniff Hotel from a friend, who also suggested checking out the webcam to get a feel for the space and staff. I've been tuning in over the past few days to get a better sense of the facility and wanted to share some honest feedback based on what I've observed. My main concern is around hygiene. This morning (7/14 around 8:25am at dogpark), I noticed a couple of poops were left on the playground for several minutes while multiple dogs sniffed or appeared to lick them. When the staff (black hair) eventually picked them up, the area wasn't wiped down. There was also a pee puddle near in front of the camera that stayed there the entire 10 minutes I was watching. Dogs walked through it, some licked or peed on top of it, and the staff member walked past it multiple times without cleaning it. During each of my webcam check-ins over the past few days, that particular spot near the front of the camera seems to be frequently missed by different staffs. I get that it might be a lot for one person to handle, but that's really something the facility should staff accordingly for. Yesterday, a different staff member appeared glued to her phone the entire 10 minutes and didn't step in when there was visible tension between dogs. And there were more than 10 dogs on floor at times. I'm only sharing this because I genuinely want to like this place--it's super convenient for us and came highly recommended. I really hope these areas can be improved, and I'd love to give Sniff a try if things start to look better. read more

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. My dog had spinal surgery a couple months ago and is not quite ready to be in general population so the treehouse room was perfect. The webcams can be a little funky sometimes, but being able to check on your pup is a blessing and a curse. Highly recommend this location. read more

We have boarded our dog who has anxiety issues and the staff is very friendly and adore my little girl. She does at times take her time to warm up to people but the are very food with her. We also use them to trim her nails since she is comfortable with the staff. Chanel snuggled under her blankets while being boarded back in January due to a severe family emergency. The staff where very attentive to both our needs and hers during our difficult time. She was there I think for 2 wks. I wanna thank you all for making her feel comfortable and soothing her while we where away and giving her extra TLC while we where attending to our emergency situation. read more

Sniff has been great with our pup, Renly. He especially loves their group agility class and the report cards with pictures of the session are nice to have. Each time we go he's super excited and the staff does legitimately seem to care for him and his well being. He got a bit stressed with the increase in new dogs lately due to the pandemic so we've not been going as often. I received notification that they're changing the format a bit so I think it should help a lot and look forward to getting him back in. read more

My puppy enjoys coming here for daycare so much that she almost pulled me off my feet today trying to get in the door. Overall, I like the staff here at the Beaverton location. Having webcams to view my pup during her playtime is a MUST, although the website shows 4 cams - but only 2 play areas are actually transmitting. I'm assuming that's because the other 2 areas aren't active just yet. I have not used the boarding, and not sure I will as I was told that they expect the dogs to eliminate in their kennels, or they can take them to a separate private "room" to do their business. I believe the NW location says they get "outside potty breaks", but was told for safety they can't do that in Beaverton. PROS: Webcams. Can't say enough. There is always at least 1 person, sometimes 2, in the play areas with the dogs. They seem to do positive reinforcement/treats, and try to give each dog praise and attention. When the dogs seem to get rambunctious they quickly leash them and divert their attention, which seems to cause no issues with the other dogs - and then the leash is quickly removed and play resumes. When the dogs eliminate, the messes are usually cleaned up quickly (well the solid ones, sometimes the urine stays around a bit) CONS: I don't love that there's no "astroturf" for the dogs to eliminate upon. I was hoping to fake my dog out that it's "grass" so that if she eliminated there, it would seem like she's outside. I know the NW location has that, and I am worried that my puppy will think that eliminating in the house is suddenly OK. I'm watching for that behavior, and so far so good, but I do think it's a risk. I have watched her on the webcam when another dog craps, and she looks at the dog as if to say, "ooooh that's not good at all". Let's hope she continues to realize that crapping indoors is not OK. read more

We had our dog stay overnight for the weekend and felt really good about her having play time for 3hrs a day. After our consultation there were some concerns about her anxiety in the playroom. After dropping her off we were then told she wasn't cleared for the three hours of play a day. Between the consultation and our dog's medical needs it seems there was some confusion in that not all parties were on the same page about her stay.. We ended up sorting out a plan for her stay with the trainer that included the playtime she needed. Reed was helpful in working everything out and dealing with our frustrated phonecalls. With a consultation prior, we thought everyone was on the same page but we still had to iron things out during our dogs stay. There should be clearer communication from the hotel at check in if the stay is going to deviate from the base plan we pay for. It also would have been nice to have access to the notes in the system about our dog since this seemed to be the source of all the confusion. read more

Let me first start by saying that I love bringing my dog here for daycare everyday. People here are kind and attentive. My dog loves his play time and goes there 4 days a week from usually 8 am - 6 pm. My partner and I have demanding jobs. Sniff is amazing for our daily routines. The reason I can't give them 5 stars is due to their boarding policy. For $88 a night, dogs get only 3 hours per day of playtime with additional two 15 mins break. This is a total of 3.5 hours out of 24 hours stay. Their reasoning is that they don't want to exhaust/stress dogs out too much as they are not going back to their homes in the night. I get this reasoning and wouldn't want my pet to be under any stress. My problem is that we are talking about reducing his play time by over 50% when he is boarding compared to when he is at daycare. They said I can purchase their additional service for $10 per 15 mins to get 1:1 human time for my pet. To buy an hour of additonal social time, my total cost of per day stay would be $128. I know I can look for other options as reminded gently by the office manager at Beaverton Sniff. I certainly can and probably would have to. This time around I am changing our travel plans to keep my pet with me. I just wish at some point they will look into making policies more robust for the dogs who are used to their daycare. To summarize, I wouldn't recommend their boarding, but I will definitely recommend their daycare. read more

Molly stayed at the Sniff Hotel while we were away 1 1/2 weeks. She got the sniffles and Shannon, who works for the Sniff Hotel, took Molly to the vet. There was no extra charge for doing this. She sent me pictures of the entire trip to the drs, before, during and after the exam. I am so impressed on how they care and treat the animals here. Dogs with food allergies beware! I would have loved to send my dog here for daycare 4x a week but after the playgroup consultation I will never return. My dog has food allergies which I indicated on her online profile several times and treats should not be given to her unless we bring it. Her 30 min consultation went well and I decided to view the "dog park" cam a few hours later and the person supervising the dogs gave her numerous treats within my 10 mins of viewing. I unfortunately couldn't call them right away to stop the treats since I was on the other line. At pick up they apologized and stated that her profile does indicate food allergies but for some reason the food allergy icon didn't appear by her name. This is totally unacceptable! If the treats had contain chicken, they would have paid for my veterinarian bills. Luckily it didn't but it did contain another allergen which caused diarrhea. Also I was told that each play area had a little astroturf area for elimination. I didn't see that on the "dog park" cam and within the 10 mins of viewing, 4 dogs urinated/defecated on the floor. The feces were picked up right away but the pools of urine weren't all cleaned up. read more

We were boarding our dog at the location in Portland and recently moved to the West side. We were really excited to see this new location in Beaverton! Our dog always comes home clean and worn out (in a good way, he is currently snoring on the couch). He just stayed at the new location for three days and we're thrilled the service was just as good as the Portland location! This might be a little more expensive than other places but it is 100% worth it to know your dog is in excellent hands. Added bonus is the the "report card" your dog comes home with. Our dogs' always mentions how much he loves attention... which is not news to us. read more

I went here specifically look for Haven Heart dog treats. This is a Non Profit program to help give rescue animals a safe haven.. these treat are $6 bucks.. come to find out Sniff sells them for $12 for a profit. I view this as greed and therefore will never board my pets there.. it appears their heart isn't in the right place. I'm sure u make plenty of profit and dont understand why u can't contribute to a good cause. Sells the treat at cost again. As they should be $6.. the cause is good.. read more

I have a older, blind dog with a little separation anxiety. Leaving her at Sniff Dog Hotel gives me complete peace of mind when I've had to travel out of town. They are always sure to check that she is eating and drinking properly, giving her her medication, and enjoying one-on-one playtime. It's a little pricey but totally worth it, compared to other less expensive boarding services I have used in the past that were not as attentive to my dog specifically. I would also recommend the NW location, but I tend to have more luck with booking with Beaverton as the NW hotel books up more quickly. read more

Our two boys love going to Sniff Beaverton. They have stayed in the hotel when we are traveling...they love the dog day care and agility classes. The staff is excellent and treat the dogs like they are theirs. Reid is their head trainer and he is AWESOME. We are so glad they are back after being closed due to Covid. i left a very positive review for the sniff location in nw portland but now felt like it was important to do the same for the beaverton location as they are just as awesome! yes, they have a great space (including the new dog hotel smell in the front lobby...kind of like having a new car smell - ha) in which i think the owners were able to think about and improve on how the portland location was set up. with that in mind, though, what has always made me impressed with sniff are the people who work there. my current dog is not the first i've had and as a result have encountered many different dog boarding and day care places. many of those places have constant turnover not only with those caring for the dogs but with the front desk staff. over the 1.5 years i've been going to sniff (obviously only a few months at the beaverton location), i find there is a lot of consistency in staff. this says to me that they are being treated well and this gets passed on to beloved dogs like mine. shannon, who was at the portland location, is now managing the beaverton location. while the beaverton one is slightly less convenient for me, following her and her stellar customer service skills (not to mention just a good heart) was really the reason why i started taking my dog to beaverton. but outside of that, their principles in dog watching are the same. when dogs get riled up and the energy starts increasing, they get on top of it right away in positive ways and redirect the pack's attention. unlike the person who posted with their concerns, i'll admit to creepily watching the live feed a lot (just because it is so cute) and i find the handlers are right on top of poop and pee pickup. i have never had a concern about this, and like i said, i watch their dog tv a lot. :) i feel like i'm aimlessly writing this review, but i think what i wanted to express was that i have experience with sniff and have been very impressed by them, and for those that live in beaverton and want to consider the new location for their dogs, know that they have the same high quality care as the portland one and it is worth every penny. read more

Our pug puppy (4.5 months old) had her first period of time away from our family. She spent 5 nights at the Beaverton Sniff location and they took GREAT care of her! They gave us a "report card" when we picked her up and told us how she interacted while there. They asked allergy questions when we dropped her off and made sure to adjust her treats due to that information. She was in great spirits when we picked her up and was attentive to the women bringing her out to us, and she is generally shy to other people. We could not be more happy with their service. We will definitely use again in the future and will try their daycare option. read more
