Walking in I was greeted with fresh smells & warm smiles. This was a new place for me, so of course, I am taking in all the sights, from the GET CHE MIND RIGHT backdrop, to the wall menus, to the vending machines & all the other signage that provide helpful suggestions. I was shocked to learn of drinks made with kidney beans was on the menu. The kidney beans are said to be sweet. I promised to try it, as it's quite hard to fathom kidney beans would be sweet. That will be my drink of choice next time. But this time, I tried a more fruity drink and It was quite pleasing to me. There was ice cream at the very top and the cashier suggested that I hurry and eat that before it melted I did what she said, and I had two treats in one drink. The ice cream and then the gummy's at the very bottom. It was like eating gummy bears or gummy worms with a dessert drink. Every mouthful was chewy and flavorful. To be noted, there are non-dairy options as well. Don't get scared. So many items to choose from, dessert drinks & banh-mi sandwiches, mango this, kidney beans that... with so many items on the menu that just means I have to return and try more of the concoctions. Shared parking lot. But it doesn't look like most people come and stay alone while. Although there are tables inside where you can sit and maybe do some computer work or read a book the average Joe picks up their drink and goes their way.

She wanted a pink…read moreand blue snowball which ended up being blue raspberry and a pink flavor that I forgot. lol I chose the coco lime that included lime, coconut milk, condensed milk and a lime wedge. I think she mentioned something else but I don't remember the extra either. What I do remember is it was really good. My go to snowball anywhere is usually green apple but I'm glad I tried this one. I'd get it again. I noticed something about most of the snowball places around...they all use the snow wizard ice machine. But the crazy thing is, all of their ice isn't the same. This place figured ice out!! SO SOFT! Only downside and it's not their fault, it's in a rather busy strip so if you can't find parking out front...Beware McDonald's parking across the street. They tow as if they need all those parking spaces...I don't think I've ever seen a full McDonald's parking lot in life. Lol Anyway, 10/10 and cool points for entertaining my little chatterbox baby. I'll be back to try the Matcha!!

From the cute aesthetic to the amazing owner and staff, this place deserves wayyyy more hype. I love matcha and I've found a lot of places' matcha are too thin or not flavored enough. The matchas I've had at Nectar+Ice (banana bread & baklava) are so creamy and delicious! They also have snoballs, lattes and affogato so everyone can enjoy them. The owner was very helpful and also let me sample the weekly soft serve special which was also yummy. The only reason it's not a perfect 10 is the small space (can get a bit crowded during a rush) and its hours are only from Wed-Sat.

This family-owned business has been a New Orleans institution since 1905. In fact, its name is…read morestill imprinted in the sidewalk tiles of its former location at 617 Ursulines. The establishment began as an ice cream parlor selling handmade gelato but has since expanded to include pastries, desserts, espresso, cappuccinos, & lattes. The shop embodies the old-world charm of Sicily, and everything is authentically produced in small batches from high-quality local ingredients. The first gelato flavor that founder Angelo Brocato first produced & sold was Torroncino - a vanilla-based gelato with cinnamon & ground almonds. It's still served in their shop today. Locals love their handmade gelato, Italian ices, & desserts - as do I. My favs are the cannoli and signature Italian pastries. I'm also a big fan of the Spumoni, which is served in slices (as it should be). Sadly, Angelo Brocato III passed on July 22nd at the age of 85. His burial was private but the locals gathered for a big celebration to honor his life and the joy he brought to them over the years.

I could say everything was perfect here (super rich, flavorful, and sweet). I had their Spumoni Cheesecake which was good, my buddy recommended and ordered their Alaska cake which was good (but a bit too rich and sweet for me). Try and support local shops, Angelo was a perfect night cap to dinner. About 15 minutes away from Bourbon St, they also have locations in the airport too if you need your Italian dessert fix!
