    TRASHHHHH

I think this company only does well at farmers markets because people don't know any better. I only found out about them through the farmers market at the waterfront in Des Moines. I've been purchasing the Gruyère cheese bread for a few years now at the farmers market. However, this year the bread is horribly baked!!!! Nothing compared to the last couple of years! My kids like the cheesy bread. I wanna say 80% of it is burnt! Kinda like a crust. Also the employees are condescending and unprofessional! I wish I would have reacted to what was being said to me! Consider themselves lucky because I paid with cash, otherwise I would dispute the purchase!

We had a half order of biscuits and gravy, croissant sandwich with sausage and bacon, and an almon croissant for just under $30. The food was all really good. The gravy wasn't too heavy with good flavor you would expect from breakfast gravy while the biscuit was light and more fluffy than a normal biscuit, almost more muffin-like. The sandwich was on par with what you would expect from a breakfast croissant sandwich. The sausage was sliced link's and the bacon thick cut and perfectly crisped. The almost croissant had some structure to it" crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a buttery filling. It wasn't very busy when we came so we didn't have a long wait in line or waiting for our food.

Snohomish Bakery at First & Union - A Cozy Step Back in Time Walking into Snohomish Bakery at First & Union feels like stepping into a simpler, slower-paced era--the kind where you meet friends and family over a coffee in an actual mug, not a to-go cup. It's a true hometown spot, where the friendly staff make you feel like longtime friends. We enjoyed the turkey provolone sandwich, a classic done right, along with a perfectly chewy chocolate chip cookie and a rich, smooth white mocha. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. Their bread selection caught my eye--well-priced and clearly baked with the same quality and craftsmanship as everything else. I'll definitely be back for more! Whether you're catching up with a loved one or just soaking in the charm of Snohomish, this bakery is the kind of place that reminds you to slow down and enjoy the moment. Highly recommend!

Chicken tarragon salad on raisin bread and toasted

Looking for a brunch spot we wanted to try First & Union, but the place was packed so we were advised to go to the bakery side which was the same kitchen and nearly the same menu with a few limitations (no burgers, no egg dishes other than a quiche). it is very limited compared to the main restaurant. The pastry case displays a lot of wonderful baked goods. we grabbed a bunch of croissants to go with our brunch and it did not disappoint. Ordering the meals was a bit odd. They asked for our order at the bakery case while we were in line and then after ordering and adding our croissant, they told us sandwiches and other meals had to be ordered at the register. Onto the food. 1) Turkey and provolone - this was heaping with turkey and it was a good sandwich. 2) Chicken tarragon salad sandwich. The chicken salad was good. I was not expecting a grilled version on raisin bread. i would have preferred my chicken salad cold on a bread choice to my picking. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was good, but it was a surprise. 3) French toast....this was the star of the dishes. Thick, fluffy, flavor packed and paired so well with the sausage (i subbed sausage instead of bacon). I would eat this again: breakfast, lunch or dinner. 4) The pickle spears were oddly mushy and had no signs of a crunch factor. Overall, I would come back again for a french toast, sandwich or pastry. if you order a sandwich just be sure to ask for bread options and ask to see if its a hot or cold sandwich otherwise you may be surprised.

Tasty treats but some are a little pricey. We got a couple apple fritters, a cinnamon roll, a pear pastry, and an almond croissant at the Issaquah Famers Market. We would have it again bc they were tasty but maybe discount items at the end of the market.

Saw the sign for this bakery off of highway 9 and decided to check it out. In a beautiful old building, love the rustic charm. My review is only on the bakery side since I didn't dine in. Cases were filled with bread, cookies, croissants, etc. around 11a on a Friday. I scored the last sourdough baguette at a terrific price at $3.50! I also got a plain croissant around the same price which is unheard of in this economy. The baguette was amazing with butter & jam. The croissant was out of this world. I plan to return soon! Also the young lady who helped me was so kind & friendly. She even started up a quick friendly chat. Love that!

    Almond croissant and snickerdoodle
    Linda L.

Got the almond croissant which was dry and stale (which makes sense for almond croissant) but wish they offered the option to get it reheated because when I did so myself it was 10x better. The filling was overwhelmingly sweet but almond taste fairly prominent. The snickerdoodle was nice and soft with a crispy outside. Could use some more cinnamon flavor but overall solid cookie. Ambience is like a cute small bakery cafe. It is adjacent to their restaurant. Workers were super friendly despite having a packed line.

Not real helpful but kind once we had their attention. Coffee's were ok/ decent but pastries were delicious!

Ordered to go and got a sourdough baguette, a sour cherry croissant and a Gruyère bread loaf thing. All were great but wow, that Gruyère loaf was AMAZING. My tummy rumbles as I imagine the beautiful moment I took my first bite. Good times. Prices were pretty normal IMO and there is ample seating inside and out if you want to enjoy your baked goods there. I'll need to read the bad reviews since the overall star rating isn't great, but I personally was a fan and will probably go back

Stopped by during a walk in town. The quiche was delicious as was the almond croissant. There was ample seating and we were able to relax and rest our feet. There were happy people enjoying their break and not too noisy. Good place for a coffee break!

Wow, what a god send of a bakery! A complete GF bakery?!?! Yayyyy!!…read more I am so excited when I found out they make vegan, dairy free pastries. Double checked...Dairy free means no milk, cream, yogurt, butter etc. so I look for labels that says DV, V. Everything is automatically certified gluten free and there is no worry on cross contamination. They don't use run of the mill commercial grade high gluten flour the website tells all. There's also paleo, keto options. As someone who hasn't been eating butter based pastries due to doctor's orders, this bakery is like finding gold. Our favorite after 2 visits are their vegan dairy free sea salt chocolate chunk cookie, their classic GF big chocolate chip cookie, vegan dairy free banana macadamia nut muffin, and my absolute favorite is their dairy free vegan sweet strawberry scone (with rhubarb, flax and coconut). I typically find scones to be bland and dry. Not these! I enjoyed these so much they were so moist and delicious but what I love most is the chewy bits on the edge. My hubby is a chocolate fiend but he usually get sluggish and sick to his stomach after inhaling a large chocolate pastry from other bakery. He ate their large size classic chocolate chip cookie and it didn't bother him. Tasted amazing too! Their sourdough is one of a kind. It's piping hot and available on a daily basis while supplies last. Nobody offers gluten free artisan sourdough fresh out of the oven on a walk in basis. It stayed hot for hours after I brought it home because it was such a dense dough. When I think about how much more time and work went into these special loaves (not mass produced) and loaded with nutrition, the $23.50 is worth it! The sourdough is super moist if you don't toast it there's almost a slight tacky feel to it. Once toasted, it is the best artisan toast eating experience. This am, I enjoyed an open faced peanut butter and blackberry jam toast. Appreciate also they provide on the package specific care instructions for the best experience. For the price, I made sure we wash our hands and did all the suggested prep needed. My only critique would be transparency on pricing in store and on website. It was mildly shocking when the register total was in the $80 range after 2 sourdough loaves and 6 pastries before tip. After eating it, we realized it's actually worth every penny. Good at a different level. Maybe if they have a daily special would be nice to bring in more people? Well, we will come back regardless! Love this new bakery find!!

Upon entering, i immediately noticed baked goods display and the drink menu. The case was filled with a bunch of interesting types of baked goods. On top of the rose cardamom latte, brioche tart and cardamom twist. We also got a savory scone and another item that escapes me. I enjoyed the savory scone the most. It had chives and bacon amongst other things. Great texture and not too dry. The brioche tart was a meal all on its own. Heavy and will put you to sleep. The cheese I think that was in there was gruyere but I could be wrong. I enjoyed it but definitely will splooge out if you down eat it on a plate with utensils. Eventually it does get monotonous for me. Recommend sharing it. Cardamom twist was the least favorite item. I'm not sure what it was but there was an essence of something in the background that threw the flavor off for me. I can't seem to describe it. The twist was slightly doughy/stodgy for me. Maybe part of an off batch. I typically do like cardamom centered things. This wasn't my favorite is all I can say. One suggestion I would hope gets implemented is cost of goods displayed for each item. I can say I was surprised at the total during check out. I do go to a lot of bakeries, cafes and artisanal shops. I always felt more at ease knowing what I was getting into from a financial standpoint. Tip is to look at their discounted items. They are a steal. They also have a rewards program that gets you a drink with every new sign up paired with a purchase I wish I had known prior to purchase as I was only able to spot signage at the register.

HOWEVER, if you want exceptional customer service and off-the-charts quality, you need to dash over to the Simply Sweet Bakery here in Snohomish, WA. Seriously! Here are just a few reasons for my very happy review: o Fabulous taste: I love good cake/cupcakes. I know, I get it. There are people out there who will eat any cupcake, be it dry, smuuschy, even with that frighteningly pretend frosting that could be sold on eBay under "vintage" (not in a good way..._). I am not one of those people. Another note I feel is essential for you to know is that I know my strengths - baking good cupcakes is not one of them. Like good bread, I am happy to wear the crown of "Queen of knowing how to purchase great cakes/cupcakes, and breads". Simply Sweet is now my go-to! The texture of their cupcakes is a combination of that perfect, slightly dense (I think of it as being a yummy "pound cake-y" style, which is my favorite) without being a brick. Somehow they figured out how to make them be substantial without being too heavy or dry, YAY! And the frosting is fantastic! Saying it should practically be a controlled substance is my way of saying "yes, please!" o Gorgeous presentation: These darlings are lovely! Whether you buy the little, mini ones, the regular size, or the monster size ones, they are all gorgeous! AND they come in these boxes that help ensure they actually make it to your event without looking like you decided to make a side trip and visit someone's sketchy trampoline en route. How nice! Oh, and that frosting? It is both delicious and perfectly applied! Who knew that was possible? And, yet, here you go! o A true variety: Just look at their website. Warning: they are all fabulous. o Fair prices: Have you priced gourmet cupcakes? Before you grumble, just remember quality ingredients cost more than the cheap ones. Why? Because THEY TASTE BETTER. That being said, Simply Sweet still has very competitive prices! I checked! o Customer service that gives Nordstrom a run for its money! My darling, adult, special-needs daughter, Sara, is a GIANT Snohomish Panther Volleyball fan! Every year, we try to celebrate these amazing athletes by bringing them a treat. This year, we decided on going with Simply Sweet Bakery! YAY! ...small problem...I needed them ASAP as the season got away from me, and the Panthers were at the very end of their regular season! Yikes! I completely blame myself, but I needed them on a Wednesday, and Simply Sweet is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays...oh dear...50 cupcakes...oh dear...Did I mention this was on a Sunday, after they had closed, when this came to light? Oh dear! I sent an email explaining my plight with no expectations of success... Guess what! Not only did I receive an email response in record time, but THE CUPCAKES WERE READY AND WAITING BY NOON ON THAT WEDNESDAY!!!! They were so beautiful! They were SO TASTY! They were perfect! I could have cried! Simply Sweet did not have to do this. They just did. There is a reason they are such a local gem! They care about their product and their clientele. How cool is that? Needless to say, those amazing Panther Volleyball Players were thrilled, as were we! Must go now, off to purchase a herd of cupcakes for Sara's birthday celebration! Oh, and their online ordering setup is a "cake walk" to use! Buy Here, You Will Thank Me!

I had been there a few times before and had always enjoyed it, so I was actually the one raving to my friend about how good the place was and suggesting we go there. We were told by who I believe was the owner that we could not sit at a table because they were "running food" and it made things too difficult, and instead were told to sit on the bench by the door. The problem was the bench was already full, so we were left standing there waiting for our order with nowhere to sit. Honestly, it was embarrassing after I had talked the place up so much to my friend. It was disappointing because there were plenty of empty tables available and we were paying customers simply waiting for our food. In addition to olive oil and balsamic vinegar, the shop has all kinds of associated items -- pouring spouts and the like. While we tasted a great many flavors of olive oil, and quite a few balsamic vinegars, we keep going back to the same favorites time after time: * Traditional balsamic vinegar * Tuscan herb infused olive oil There are many other interesting flavors, but these stand the test of time. And while one can use them to make a great oil-and-vinegar dressing on a salad, our favorite way to consume them is with a fresh good-quality baguette, ideally made the same day by a real french bakery (like La Parisienne in Seattle). A little oil in a dish, a little balsamic vinegar poured through it, then a hunk of baguette dipped in the balsamic-tuscan-herb mixture. Yum!! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and it's hard to go wrong with any of the choices. Well worth a drive to get high quality ingredients. We are big fans.
