Snooky's nails the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger long after your plate is cleared. Sitting right on the beach, it's hard to beat the setting, especially at sunset. That alone makes it worth the visit. As for the food, it was decent but didn't quite live up to the view. We tried the firecracker shrimp, oysters Rockefeller, the fresh catch sandwich of the day, and the horseradish-crusted salmon. Salmon was undercooked after ordering medium well but besides that everything was solid, but nothing really stood out or felt particularly memorable. It's the kind of menu where you won't be disappointed, but you also won't be talking about it the next day. They also included the tip for a party of 2 who sat at the bar so deducting a star for that! The drinks, though, were a different story. The cocktails were easily the next highlight. The pineapple mule was especially impressive, bright, fresh, and packed with real pineapple flavor that made it incredibly refreshing. Fresh Catch bites appetizer (grouper, blackened) was phenomenal. Tuna poke bowl was excellent too. We also got the platter with flounder, crab cake, and scallops. Flounder was probably my least favorite-- I would try something else next time, maybe the shrimp instead of flounder. Scallops were so good. If anyone is looking for an outstanding grouper sandwich this is the place. Not only is it delicious and fresh it's a large serving and enough to share. I love the preparation Snooky's uses for this menu item - oatmeal and almonds for the crust. It's mouthwatering and you can't stop eating. Then if you like tartar sauce they make a Cajun sauce that is not spicy in my opinion that tops it off. The view of the ocean made the lunch enjoyable and the server we had was great. The atmosphere here was relaxing and enjoyable. Be prepared to park across the street at the overflow area but it's well worth the few extra steps. I've seen billboards for Snooky's for years but because it reminded me of the girl from the TV show Jersey Shore, I was never really interested in going. However, on a recent trip back from North Carolina, we decided to give it a try. It's actually a good sized restaurant with plenty of tables and a nice view of the beach. The young man serving us was in the ball and made sure to ask if we wanted another beer when we finished the first. I had the blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich which was much better than I expected. I also had the wasabi slaw but I wasn't a fan. My wife enjoyed her chicken sandwich and the fries were on point. read more

We really enjoyed the casual beach vibe here. We went twice during our trip. Service was really kind. Our first night we ordered po boy and Mahi sandwiches. Both were flavorful. The second time we had crab cakes and a fish/shrimp combo both served with asparagus and mashed potatoes (the kind with the red potato skin and a little lumpy - my fave). Very disappointing experience at the bar. Service was extremely slow and inattentive--I waited far too long just to be acknowledged, let alone receive drinks. Staff seemed disengaged, and there was little effort to check in or correct the delays. This really took away from what should have been an enjoyable visit. We visited on a Friday evening, with a party of 6, and were able to get right in. The parking lot right in front is really small, but there's a large overflow parking lot across the street. The kids menu comes with crayons, and all of the kids meals (except for the pasta) come on a cute frisbee for them to keep. We had the conch fritters and calamari as appetizers. The conch fritters weren't for me, but the calamari was really good and had a yummy breading on it. Our server was also the bartender, so he was really busy, but still very nice and attentive. I had the snow crab legs, and asked for extra butter and old bay. Very good! The drinks were also really good and had a heavy pour. We loved that the place was right on the beach. It was a little too cold to eat outside but there's view was still nice and we were able to walk on the beach after. Nice place with really good food. We would visit again. read more

Me & my friend planned to come here before arriving to South Carolina to vacation in Myrtle Beach. The food here caught us all by surprise with how delightful & plentiful it is. I ordered the Oysters Snooky & it was really good. I typically prefer my Oysters more scored with marks on them. We also ordered mimosas by the pitcher. It's infused with vodka & mimosas. We didn't taste the liquor (which is actually terrifying lol). My friend ordered the Tuna Poke. She absolutely loved it ate ot all up. I'll start with saying parking is an issue. Be prepared to either pay for 24 hour parking next door, or walk. Location looks small, but we got right in without a wait. I was happy with this since they told us on the phone they don't take reservations for parties of 4. Drinks are on point. We had Bloody Marys and they were perfect. It did take a LONG time for food. I ordered my youngest crab legs earlier than the rest of the meal, in hopes it would arrive quickly. It didn't show up until the rest of the food did. The taste of everything was great though. My order was for the Horseradish Encrusted Salmon (photo) and my hubby ordered the Grouper. Very large portions, well seasoned, and tasty. The food, once it arrives, is always good. We are fond of the brunch, and often bring out-of-town guests, and we enjoy happy hour, usually sitting at either the upstairs or main-level bar. The food is usually good. The Low-Country Benedict comes with roasted asparagus, and eggs poached appropriately (not always the case down here). It's a reasonably priced step up from the "skillets" and other sloppy offerings from similar restaurants. My wife had the Shoreline Western Omelette. She reports that it "Wasn't overcooked," and she liked the collection of ingredients, especially the Andouille sausage, which "gives it a little kick without making it inedible." The Bloody Mary Bar is fun for me and our guests, but on this visit, a wait was in order as a self-important tourist (not drinking a Bloody Mary or Mimosa) emptied the bar's container of Bloody Mary add-ons onto four little plates and served them to his table. Eventually, the put-out bartender got around to refilling the containers. The host stand, which doesn't face the front door, usually run by two or more unfriendly people, sure doesn't make me feel welcome. It's been this way for years, and the management, who has had to have seen this behavior, has never addressed the "unfriendly host" problem. The over-arching experience was waiting for 50 minutes for food. At some point our server (yet another "new" one) came out and informed us, "The food is on the way. We had an 'emergency' in the kitchen." A little while later, someone who seemed to be a manager came to the table, and apologized again. Eventually, the food arrived and then the check. Under the circumstances, I would have expected some sort of discount or reduction, but Snooky's is by the ocean, so even with a crappy experience, full price it is! It's a nice place on the ocean, the food is good, but the ever-rotating staff makes service a crap shoot. read more

3/10/26: Tried Snooky's for the first time because it's right on the Cherry Grove beach. Learned too late that Snooky's has a free parking lot one block away after paying $20 for one hour parking at the adjacent NMB pay lot. We were seated out back along the beach overlooking a sand dune. So relaxing! We started off our visit with three perfect frozen strawberry daiquiris and one frozen Pina Colada. Yum!!! Both of us enjoyed our almond and oatmeal encrusted "Grouper Corey", with the crust looking so unique (like a specialty bread) yet delicious throughout. Sisters Lisa and Gail said they enjoyed their "Candied Bacon Burger" with sweet potato waffle fries and "Chicken Philly" lunch special with crispy tater tots, respectively. Go somewhere else. Overall it was one of the worst meals I've had in my 32 years of life. Party of 4 and none of our food was good let alone edible. Items we ordered clam chowder- 0/10 avoid, poke bowls -0/10 the rice was truly inedible, complete miss. Oysters - 0/10 just avoid, trust me. Not fresh and was a struggle to even get out of the shell. Peel and eat shrimp - 2/10 overcooked and flavorless. Blue crab Mac and cheese - 1/10. It's understandable if one dish was a miss but when every item was bad, that's unacceptable. Bar tender was a gem, he should leave and go to a better establishment that actually cares about the food they put out. I'm hate to put down a business but they need a kitchen revamp. read more

So fresh tasting and battered to perfection. Our waitress was great about getting our drink refills and any extras we needed.
