We have been coming to Snoopy's for years. Great fried fish (light and crispy) and outdoor seating. They have salads, and a chatterjack shrimp dish thats spicy and not fried, is delicious! I would give this place a 5 star review, but I'm deducting Because, getting on the mic to scream out orders for pick up is a very antiquated way of doing business. It's very annoying and takes away from the enjoyment of the meal. Please procure some buzzers to alert to people to pick up their orders or get a system that uses peoples phone number to text them. Food was fantastic, the customer service was amazing! My only issue was a family throwing fries to the seagulls but I guess me talking crap loud enough rushed them out. Snoopy's Pier has two restaurants and an ice cream shop. The Snoopy's Oyster Pearl is creating an up scale dining experience with their creative Chef and new seafood dishes and fresh oysters. I recommend them to many visitors. The ice cream store is a favorite with my boat tour customers and they freshly make waffle cones and bowls. If y'all are a Corpus Christi native and had gone to Snoopy's Pier for years, don't bother to drive all the way to the Island for the legendary seafood this restaurant once had. First thing that will clue you in is there is no pier anymore, it's gone, they tore it out. The local seafood that was delivered to that pier is also gone, the board with the day's local catch gone, they now serve the same seafood you can buy at H.E.B. The recipes are gone, including the delightful beer batter enclosing juicy firm tasty fish that could be bought by the basket and the fresh coleslaw that featured a delicious vinegarette with subtle hints of jalapeño all for reasonable prices that a local person could afford to feed their extended family. So very sad, a true local institution has passed into history. I think it would perhaps have been better if it had gone the way of Frenchy's. Save your money and effort and don't bother to come to Snoopy's "Pier". There's a whole host of new restaurants on the Island to be discovered! Happy culinary travels, all y'all! read more

I love Snoopy's. It's a tradition for us to stop on the way down or back to the coast. It's a cozy, mom & pop kind of place where you go to sit on the water and dive into some fried seafood deliciousness. It's exactly what you would expect for a long running seafood spot under the causeway. You're not going to get white tablecloths and filet mignon, you're going for fried fish sammies, hush puppies, and fried shrimp platters. The staff is super friendly and will help with choices. The line can get long, but moves fast. You can also order ahead and pick up when you get there. I always get the fried fish sandwich. I have rarely been disappointed. Plus, you can chill by the water, watch the gulls and pelicans cruise overhead, and often you can see fish trolling around - I guess looking for scraps. Who knows good seafood better than the fish?! You feel like - well, like you're have a fried fish sandwich at a super casual cool place on the water. It's the perfect lunch spot to at the end of a trip to the coast. read more

While I can understand this type of service, it catches you off guard when going out for Saturday dinner at a seaside restaurant. Oh, bar is self service too. As a former restaurant owner this has a significant impact on bar revenue. To each their own. Just not my style and it punishes the staff with low tip revenue. Food was your typical field fish, fries and hush puppies. Scenery is good. The fried food is ok, but the shrimp platter over rice was excellent. There is a lot of potential here but it's not quite there as of today. Hence, 3 stars. read more

Sadly, snoopys has gone downhill. Portions are small and quality poor. We had the crab cakes and the gumbo. Both had little to no flavor. The only redeeming product was the peel and eat shrimp but at $24 for 10 shrimp it didn't make up for the other food. After a relatively long drive down to Corpus Christi from San Marcos, my wife and I were eager to try out some seafood for an early dinner. We initially asked the front desk person for recommendations and she readily volunteered Snoppy's or Doc's for seafood. We checked both out on Yelp and both got middling reviews. We thought we might try Black Diamond Oyster Bar instead but they were closed on Mondays (someone should be updating their Yelp page BTW)...so off to Snoopy's or Doc's we went which took us over the JFK Causeway and looped around to the island both establishments are on. We were hemming and hawing between the two then finally settled on Snoopy's...thinking we preferred Peanuts over Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs. Snoopy's is a no frills place. When I asked the lady taking our dinner orders what she would recommend, she replied that they're known for their fried seafood offerings. Not really all that hungry, I ordered the 1/2 Combo Plate which came with 2 each of breaded and fried oysters, shrimp and fish accompanied by fries and cole slaw. My wife ordered the shrimp sandwich. We sat on a counter facing the glorious setting sun on the horizon. The 1/2 combo plate was OK...the shrimp and fish were fine enough, especially with good tartar sauce. The fried oysters were hit and miss, with one tasting fresh and the other one not so fresh. The cole slaw was meh. My wife thought her sandwich was fine...she liked the tartar sauce with it and bread was fresh. The shrimp were tender and crispy. All in all, our meal was OK...nothing to write home about and nothing to complain about either. It's not OMG great like the fried mixed seafood at Il Pescato Cucinato in Rio Maggiore in Cinque Terre, but perhaps better than a fish fry at a VFW in Indiana. The views of sunset were gorgeous. Immediately after crossing the causeway sits Snoopy's facing the Laguna Madre. Being right on the water makes for an ideal location and with plenty of parking out front, it's easy to visit. I expected this to be more of a bar than a restaurant but after walking in, I realized it was the exact opposite. The menu is rather large primarily offering seafood, of course, in a casual setting. It has a darker cozy feeling dining room near where you order at the counter and then another dining room with a lot of windows and therefore brighter looking at the water. Beyond the windows is an outdoor patio for al fresco dining. They do have a bar but it's kind of small. I ordered a rum punch from Meu the bartender and she was very personable and made me a nice tasting beverage. Because I wasn't very hungry, I ordered at the counter the fish sandwich along with an order of fried okra which came out in less than 10 minutes. The sandwich had a couple of fried fillets with cheese, lettuce and mayo and I enjoyed it. The fried okra was also pleasing. I believe both items were around $11 before tax. Currently, Yelp rates Snoopy's at a 3.5 which I think is correct. The location is scenic with a lot of boat traffic sailing by and my food was good. I wish I could have sampled another meal here and would return if I came back to CC. For now, I will rate it a 3 and would be happy to return. read more

Snoopy's will always hold a special place in my heart. My husband and I took our families there 21 years ago to celebrate our engagement. We took our kids there last night and they loved it. However, our food was a lot greasier than I remembered, and the fried oysters seemed to be over-breaded. Of note, I really liked the Vinegar-based coleslaw. The meal was expensive, as always. $50 for a sandwich and side, kids meal, combo plate, and 2 drinks. However, not so expensive that I wouldn't go back. We adore the atmosphere. We saw fish, karaoke singers, and night kayakers. We sang, we danced. A jolly good time was had by all. We arrived just before 8pm on a Saturday night, and it was a very quiet place. My wife's parents live in Corpus Christi and we visit Snoopy's Pier several times annually. My kids, now adults grew up eating here and it's always been one of our family favorites. We recently ate there, July 3rd and I'm not sure what happened? I didn't see the owner, who usually works the front counter. The menu prices had skyrocketed, but with inflation everything has. We ordered our food and looked for a table. The staff worked diligently to clean the tables as patrons exited. We found a table after about 20 minutes. About 10 minutes later they called our name. I excitedly went to get our order. First thing I noticed was the hush puppies were about half the size they normally were. No big deal! If we needed to make another order to get our fix of Snoopy's hush puppies, so be it. Then we all started to eat our fish. I know I wasn't the only person thinking it, as the looks around the table were very similar to mine. Someone had obviously changed the type of fish Snoopy's has been using since it opened. One of my favorite aspects of Snoopy's was, all their fish was locally sourced and purchased from the local fisherman. I asked and was told, the fish are still locally sourced, but they've switched to Cod. I found this interesting, as I was pretty sure that Cod was a cold water fish typically found in the North Atlantic, but I may be mistaken as I'm a recreational diver, not a fisherman. I hate to say it, but the fish we have loved for years was on par with Long John Silvers. The fish didn't taste fresh and the batter was soggy. The hush puppies, yet small still tasted like Snoopy's normal offering. My wife had the Shrimp plate and she said the shrimp were good, but not as fresh as what she was use to from Snoopy's normally. The atmosphere hadn't changed much, aside from the very loud Karaoke guy at the bottom of Scoopy's (their ice cream store at the back). There were no Karaoke participants while we were there from 5:00-6:30 pm. We missed the local sounds of the seagulls, the boats passing by and the friendly banter in the resturant as it was drowned out by the loud music. At their current pricing and quality, I am very sad to say we won't be returning to our once regular and favorite Corpus Christi seafood eatery. -PA read more

I tried their fried fish and jumbo shrimp with fries and hash browns. After trying all of it I would say the fish was ok and the only con with it would be that it is fired so much that their is barely any fish inside it. Hash browns weee truly amazing and shrimp were also nice. The only thing that I did not like was that they charged a lot for their food and it was nothing that special They had good music ( karaoke) and also ice cream location next to the resturant for a good desert. We used to come here all the time and this place was great. We truly felt the fried shrimp was some of the best we had ever had... until tonight. The shrimp were so "shrimpy" / "fishy" tasting. The prices were insane! I don't know if they've changed owners or if it's just become too commercial / touristy, but we were incredibly disappointed tonight and will not be back. I'm sure that doesn't mean anything to the owners that a family of 3 won't be back, but when you pay over $60 for 10 fried shrimp (which were almost over the line of being rancid), 4 oysters that were not properly cooked, 4 tiny pieces of mahi-mahi that were over cooked, and a hamburger, I know that I expect a little bit more. It's really disappointing that the hamburger was the best part of the meal at a seafood restaurant. On top of it, to buy two alcoholic beverages for $18.60 that had maybe 1.5 shots of alcohol in 2-16 oz cups, that's just ridiculous. Save yourself the time and energy of having to go over the bridge and just go to Black Diamond in Flour Bluff. The prices are equivalent but the food is so much better! read more
