Loved their Orange County location so came here while visiting Austin! Quite consistent and good quality ! Large portion size and a fresh! Great vibe in the morning! Our waitress was wonderful - she was busy with many tables but she managed to get our large orders in quickly. The server who came out with the food was super friendly and fast!
The French toast was absolutely delicious, so were the eggs! The wait was about 30 min and they don't take reservations. The service was friendly and the food didn't take long to come out. I'd only been to the S Lamar location but this location is just as good, just a bit smaller in size. Great experience!
Not our first choice for brunch. Lots of good local brunch spots in Austin that are better but usually don't have to wait too long here. My Benedict was overcooked which is kinda crazy for a brunch spot not to be able to make a proper Benedict. They also forgot one of our sides. Ehh I'd only go if desperate.
I love snooze and always have. Only issue I have is the online waitlist doesn't work. First I did my reservation online. Then as I was pulling in I get a message saying I was taken off the waitlist. When I went in the store the store manager said I was never on the waitlist. I asked another employee about it and they said that we have to call or be here to get in the waitlist. Everyone is super nice but the experience was super confusing. Maybe it's because I'm hangry but it was an uncomfortable experience getting clarity. For a Saturday it wasn't bad though. All in all we waited because we love Snooze. Employees were all super awesome. Yelp needs to get its life together. This is a learning experience I will not forget.
I stopped by Snooze on E 5th after volunteering at the Run for Water race, and it was the right choice! Since it was still early on Sunday, we easily found free street parking and didn't need validation. We added our name to the list (it's always busy on weekends), and about 20 minutes later we were seated. (One star off for the wait so bring your patience). They have an efficient system that tells you where you are in line and texts you when your table is ready. Our waitress was attentive and so sweet. I ordered the Habanero Pork Belly Breakfast Fried Rice with my egg over hard instead of over easy, and it was incredible, full of flavor with just the right kick. I also got the Butterfly Lemonade, which was not only beautiful but delicious. The lavender flavor was perfectly balanced, and the pea flower gave it this gorgeous color. I'm such a fan of their Knork flatware that I actually bought some online a few years ago! The bathrooms are always clean, and on a nice day, the patio is the perfect spot to people-watch or relax with a drink. If you go, and you lean more towards savory than sweet, definitely try the fried rice or the Shrimp and Grits, both are excellent.
As someone who's gluten sensitive, Snooze is the best breakfast spot!! Like any Snooze, their breakfast items are delicious and bursting with flavor. What I love about Snooze is that every dish has a mixture of sweet, salty, tart, spicy, etc. But what I love even more now is that they have amazing gluten free options! If you're gluten free: - Get the pineapple upside down pancake. Literally tastes just as good as the normal.. super impressive and so delicious. - Don't get their French toast. Too dry and bread-y in my opinion, and really nothing impressive. - The eggs Benedict is still delicious. It has all the flavors. However, the toast that it comes with really does taste different than an English muffin so be prepared to feel like you're eating egg on a toast instead of an eggs Benedict. The place was bustling, but as usual, join the waitlist on Yelp. It was super worth it, and the prices are always great!
I love Snooze. The quality is consistent. I love the omelette. The seasoning in every dish is just perfect and not too overwhelming. Only issue I have is their matcha latte. I specifically asked for no sugar, so they removed the vanilla syrup and reassured me that there's zero sugar in it - it's still sweet? Was the matcha powder pre-sweetened already? Other than this, the food is 5/5 for me.
Excellent food great flavor great quality, great service. Their food is all locally sourced, and natural. I had the two egg classic. I replaced the bacon with some sausage that was absolutely phenomenal. The plate came out with the toast looking like mountains in the middle of a beautiful scene. Great presentation! The eggs were cooked perfectly over easy, hashbrowns didn't even need ketchup. Toast was lovely with jam. I had grapefruit juice that was perfect, freshly squozen. My friend got the fruit bowl and it looked and tasted delicious. Highly recommend this place. Great decor kinda looks like the Jetsons inside. Kelly Ann our server was great!
Absolutely delectable experience and a beautiful way to start my day before class! I was ushered into this friendly space with tubular tunes, and my barista, Kari, greeted me with a smile and took good care of me and made sure I got the best pancakes ever to exist- the Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes!! As if the day could get any better (put your seatbelt on for this one) there were hashbrowns too!! If you're looking to hit snooze on how you typically start your day, change things up and greet the sunrise at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery on East 5th Street!
If you want a fun and cute place this is a perfect brunch spot. Now you do have to get ready to wait because it can get really packed. But trust me it's totally worth it. Everyone that works there is so sweet and they accommodate you so well. Our waitress was so nice and kept making sure that everything we wanted was great and we were happy. I got the Benny duo since I love to get two different ones all the time because they're all just so amazing. My friend got the same I am, which was delicious. I didn't even know that was on the menu. And my other friend got the breakfast shrimp and grits which was delicious. Also if you're a huge pancake fan. You definitely have to come here because they have so many different ones and they're all great. Let's also love that they make actual hashbrowns and not breakfast potatoes. Hashbrowns are just the best thing for breakfast and you can never go wrong with them.
My husband and I decided to grab brunch after Sunday School and church. We were initially going to Snooze on S. Lamar. Yelp popped up the 5th street location. Who knew? Thanks Yelp! The 5th street location was actually closer to our church. This location was thoughtfully planned and executed from bright and soothing colors to a homage to Austin. Calming green, soothing teal, mellow yellow and punctuated orange permeated the building. While the host said that this location had been opened 4 years, we had never eaten at this location. Visually Snooze was appealing - high ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, bold orange chandeliers, rounded and square tables along with cool inscriptions on the walls. They had a number of symbols that looked jacks that were sprinkled throughout the restaurant giving it a futuristic twist. A distinctive Austin feature is a cluster of bats on the restaurant's central pillar. Watching the 1.5 M bats fly out from the Congress bridge is of the top Austin sightseeing attractions. Also, they had a swerved water line which appeared to mimic Lady Bird Lake. In addition, they have a community sign, showing their emphasis as a company. On the word community, they had unity highlighted. Snooze is appealing except for the wait time. When we walked in, we were given a 30-45-minute estimate. I did not know how this was going to go over with the hubs. However, he was amenable to waiting. I was sure that it did not have anything to do with me treating him out to brunch. Smile. We learned that you could put your name on a waiting list before you arrive at the restaurant. One couple told us that they put their name on the wait list while at home and do not leave for the restaurant until they are told that their table will be ready soon. Pro tip: Register on the online waiting list. The restaurant was packed with people from start to finish. Fortunately, we only had to wait 20 minutes. My husband ordered buttermilk pancakes and bacon. I ordered the classic breakfast: egg whites, hash browns, multi-grain toast, and chicken sausage. Our meals were delicious. I shared my hashbrowns with my hubby and he shared a taste of his pancakes. His pancakes were fluffy, airy, and buttery. Please note that Snooze serves vegan and gluten-free options. They also had seasonal pancakes. Our table neighbors ordered a pancake flight - 3 pancakes - cinnamon roll, strawberry and seasonal. A flight of pancakes...very unique. Our server took our order pretty quickly; however, it took a while for our food to arrive. When we received our meals, they were hot. Also, free parking is available in an attached garage. Snooze on 5th Street is a crazy, super popular. I have not seen that many folks flow to a restaurant in an hour. When you have a large stream of customers, this means you are doing something right.
We went here twice for brunch on our weekend long stay in East Austin! Service is great. Food is great. They met all of our hangover (and non hangover) needs I know we'll be back again, if not here then another location because they've never disappointed so far! They gave us military discount here, xxxxtra plus!
Delicious breakfast spot with a large diverse selection of options. I came with a group of 4, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. I had the garden omelette that comes with a little salad. It was very good. The flavors were great and portions were perfect. My only wish was that it came with toast, but you can always add that to your order for an extra charge.

This experience at Snooze (Austin, TX) was absolutely disgusting and terrifying. I found a piece of plastic inside my food -- and it was small enough that I could have swallowed other pieces without knowing it. That's not just a mistake; that's a major food safety violation and a breach of state law. Under the Texas Health & Safety Code (Chapters 431 and 437), food served to customers must be safe, uncontaminated, and free from foreign material. What I was served was legally considered "adulterated food" -- unfit for human consumption. That's how serious this is. And yet, the way the restaurant handled it was even worse. When I asked to speak to a manager, no one came to the table. Nobody checked what happened, nobody asked if I was okay, nobody apologized. They simply wrote "Oops" on the bill and gave me a $6 discount. That's it. Six dollars for finding plastic in my food. The manager's behavior was shocking -- they acted like this was completely normal. No concern for safety, no accountability, nothing. If this is how they react when someone finds plastic in their food, imagine how many other problems get ignored behind the kitchen door. And the worst part? I have no idea where that plastic came from. It could have been from packaging, gloves, machinery, or something contaminated with chemicals or spoiled food. That's cross-contamination and a violation of basic hygiene standards. If someone with an allergy had eaten it, it could have triggered a serious reaction -- even a medical emergency. I'm grateful I noticed it before swallowing it, but what if this had been a baby or a child? What if someone with allergies had eaten it? The outcome could have been tragic. This wasn't just unprofessional -- it was dangerous, illegal, and utterly disrespectful. The manager's complete lack of care showed me this place doesn't take food safety -- or their customers -- seriously at all. read more

I had the best eggs benedict at Snooze yesterday. It was called the Smashed Avocado Benny. Highly recommend. The poached egg was perfect. The avocado and tomato were delicious. I even added sliced ham to it. There's a thin layer of toasted Parmesan cheese that takes this dish to the next level. Definitely recommend eating at Snooze! read more

We had a good experience here for the one breakfast we had while visiting Austin. Snooze has an extensive menu with lots of options for any breakfast palette and plenty for vegetarians. My one sticking point was the coffee...it was serviceable...not "send-back-able"...but not particularly strong. One of my missions in life is to make breakfast places understand that their coffee, which is often the first point of contact for visitors, needs to be strong. It really wasn't here...not quite browned water you can get at some places...but really not the bold taste I'm looking for in a drip coffee. Besides that the food was great, My wife has the Smashed Avocado Benny which she really liked. It was served with a round hashbrowns puck which was one of the most delicious representations of hashbrowns I've ever had. Cooked PERFECTLY. I want to travel back to Austin to have it again. (or actually, they have locations all over so maybe I'll just go to a local one.) REALLY GOOD HASHBROWNS! (And I'm not the type to put things in upper case for no reason.) I had, mainly because I was in Austin, the breakfast tacos. It was a generous portion of three tacos that looked and tasted good, and which were suitable for my vegetarian diet. There is a lot of seating inside and out, but even with that on a Sunday morning we still had to wait to be seated...but not for too long. I recommend adding yourself to the wait list before you arrive. (Though I don't think that was working when I tried to do so on the website that morning.) Snooze is a nice, upscale breakfast spot with plenty to eat and we'll definitely come again. (But please up the coffee game.) read more

We got there early today, and it was the first time we didn't have to wait for a seat. (Perhaps people were still recovering from the UT game yesterday). I ordered corned beef hash that comes with eggs & toast. I LOVE this hash! It's got large chunks of corned beef, onion and Poblano peppers. I added a single chocolate pancake (for breakfast dessert), and loved that too. Others in my party were pleased with their protein veggie egg white scramble with homemade chicken sausage patty, bravocado toast and Denver omelette. The bravocado toast is unique and tasty, with onion honey jam, tomato and sunny side up eggs added to the typical avocado toast. Service was good. We had time to kill, and were not rushed. read more

A line for all of the nearby breakfast places, this one moved efficiently and we were served with a smile - the waitstaff took our drink orders - though they took forever to come out. 10 minutes later with 3 of 5 drinks, the alcoholic ones took longer. Finally our order was taken. Heard that one must have breakfast tacos in Texas - these were just sad. Lacking exciting ingredients or good egg flavor, I could only eat part of 1. Got the fancy bacon as well but not as good as other millionaire bacon I've had - like they put in half the work oh well. It's a chain, I didn't expect too much. It was edible but it did take forever to get though there. Was there any booze in the Bloody Mary? Don't need to return. read more

Figured we know how this chain operates after yesterday's first experience. There is parking behind in a parking garage from the restaurant. The restaurant will validate your first two hours of parking in the garage. You will need an hour to get a table, get your food and eat. It's a half hour wait for this late Saturday morning, inside or outside. There are some heaters set out on their patio area. The counter is first come, first serve. They will text you when your table is ready. It's beyond me why they aren't seating the folks waiting outside for a table out 30 minutes later and we took seats at the counter since it shows us 12th on the waits list still. Grabbed an oat milk latte, Goldilocks porridge and got a side of berries and brown sugar and maple syrup (as an add-on), Suja organic mighty dozen raw juice, bountiful Buddha bowl and protein and veggie and white scramble. $65.44 The mighty dozen tastes healthy, not very tasty, but healthy. The oat milk latte is as expected. The Goldilocks' porridge is good and so much better with some brown sugar and maple syrup, the restaurant should just have the brown sugar and maple syrup be a part of the order in my opinion. The food in general takes a while. Our porridge was out 20 minutes The Bountiful Buddha bowl . I realized I didn't have to worry that I didn't ask for the goat cheese on the side, since they only gave a few fingertip end amount of it in the bowl. The protein and veggie white scramble is as good as it was yesterday at the San Jose Snooze eatery. The rest of the food was out about 35 minutes after we ordered it, so a bit of wait to get a seat and eat. Their hello bird habanero sauce has some really good kick and heat to it, it's good on the scramble and the Buddha bowl. read more

I love going to brunch at snooze, it's all about consistency. Their pancakes are good, they have flights if you want to try different types. Their menu is pretty extensive, it goes from a typical breakfast plate with eggs and bacon, to eggs Benedict and our favorite Tex Mex breakfast plates. You'll for sure find something you like. Prices are good as well. The place is ok, it's pretty tight and always crowded, but the good news is that you can get in line through Yelp and show up right before your turn. Best feature ever! Note that they validate parking at this location, in both parking lots next and front of it. read more

Absolutely loved it here for a weekend brunch! We had eight people and were surprisingly seated very quickly outside. The place has the typical quirky brunch-spot ambiance, but I loved it. Service was pretty quick for a busy Saturday morning. I started with a nitro cold brew with vanilla and almond milk. It was delicious, smooth and creamy - I just had to ask for some ice since it was so hot outside my drink was warming up quickly. The star of the show was the Sweet Potato Bacon Smash Up - how have I not thought of a loaded sweet potato for breakfast before?? This is my dream, I still think about the perfectly poached egg with sweet potato, avocado, onions and maple bacon. Truly a great way to start my morning, plus it was surprisingly filling. We were in town visiting for fall break. We came to this restaurant before our bike tour. The menu had so many amazing choices, but I was able to settle on a couple of options. I enjoyed every single thing I ate. I had a pancake flight With the pineapple upside down, pancakes, the pumpkin pancakes, and the strawberry pancakes. They were all amazing. I had their special bacon and some eggs. I can't remember our server's name, but she was a young girl with very short curly hair. She actually looked exactly like one of my cousins. She was extremely helpful and had a very pleasant attitude. If you're looking for a breakfast spot and this happens to be convenient, I highly recommend it. read more

This was my first time trying the Snooze location on East 5th St. If you come here early enough on a Sunday, it is not that busy, so we appreciated that we could just walk in and grab a corner outdoor table. There was ample space for my pup to people and dog watch. The service was friendly and informative. Our server, Heather, made awesome suggestions from the summer drinks to the best dishes. The food portions were generous, and the breakfast combos come with toast, keeping us full until dinner time. I liked that they have a summer menu with fresh juices, helping us start the day in a healthy way. Street parking was super easy on a Sunday morning, plus it's free on Sundays. Snooze is notorious for their wait times although I still don't get why they don't make everyone's life easier by just accepting reservations. We couldn't get on the waitlist for Sunday brunch due to technical errors in the app and ultimately had to wait for an hour to get a table outside (on a very cold day) even though there's plenty of seating. It was an hour and half wait or more for a table inside. The hostess were both very rude, probably annoyed that they had to handle this huge crowd of people in line (Again reservations would make everyone's life easier). They also seemed a bit short staffed. Our server came to get the order a few minutes later, the good took another 20 minutes and check came a further 20 mins after we asked for it. Finally the good, the omelets were pretty good which you would expect from any decent brunch place. I had the sweet potato smash which was baked sweet parat topped with avocado and option of poached or scrambled eggs. It was a beautifully presented dish, a little light on calories and want really filling. I regretted not getting one of the sugary brunch items as I still felt hungry after devouring the dish. The weather eventually got better so it turned out to be a nice time overall for our Sunday brunch and I will definitely get the pancake next time. read more

When visiting or living in Austin TX, you MUST go to this amazing breakfast/ brunch chain, that will knock your socks off! They don't disappoint. I don't usually like to eat at chains, but when visiting with family you branch out, especially when your niece Kailey Moore works there :). 1st. Bacon on point with there special spin. 2. Easy atmosphere for family and friends alike. Laid back and casual. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The food delicious and all sustainably sourced. I found many healthy options on the menu. I do wish they also had a healthier potato option for the hash-browns and/or quinoa for the jasmine rice. I had the miso breakfast bowl. It comes with veggies, their yum hot sauce and but needs a sausage or something to help round it off. The coffee is very good! read more

I'm trying to find a good place for my birthday brunch. Do you still not take reservations even for a large party? Very hard to plan a party if I can't promise we will be seated.
They don’t do reservations but you can join the waitlist via their downloadable app and that is SUPER helpful!
Where is the closest parking?
There is a retail parking garage next to them, and they give you a complementary 2 hour parking.
Do they accept reservations?
We are unable to take reservations, but we do have options to add your name to the waitlist from the comfort of your own home! To do so, you can visit our website or download our app. Happy brunching!
