Years ago I did Zoom whitening at a dental practice in LA and it was truly one of the more painful experiences of my life. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but wow, I was coming out of my skin and vowed to never do that again. I literally had to go home and take the few pain pills I had from another surgery and sleep for a day between the shock of terrible nerve pain. I go to Snow for cleanings and regular check ups, and I was lucky enough to meet one of the hygienists (who is actually a dentist in her home country and very knowledgable) and she does their Zoom procedures. I am blanking on her name, but you will know when you meet her. So warm and lovely. I was feeling like my teeth, which I really care about, were starting to look a little dull. With OTC white strips, my molars were not getting bleached and so when I smiled my front teeth looked white but my visible back teeth were not. I mentioned this to her (I am SO sorry I am blanking on her name) and she talked about how she goes about the Zoom process and that most of her patients experience very little discomfort. I decided to try again and was SO nervous. She carefully covered every little sensitive spot with almost like a little rubber sealant so that the roots were not exposed and I made it through 3/4 10-15 min sessions and the best part, NO ZINGERS AFTER. I couldn't believe it. She was so patient and kind and my teeth look incredible. I plan to go back every year or so and am no longer terrified of whitening my teeth, as long as it's with her. read more

I have been going to Snow for over a decade and was disappointed in the new dentist and his bedside manner. The front desk and the hygienists are very nice, but I do not recommend Dr. Ifraitekh. After telling me I had nine cavities, that I needed to remove one of my teeth, he barely explained anything to me and seemed irritated by my questions. He spent just minutes with me and seemed in a hurry, he was very curt and failed to show me where the cavities were until I asked and left me totally confused. When I asked about nitrous for such a big procedure, as I have severe dental phobia and have had full on panic attacks during fillings, he basically told me that using anything was silly and "you have nine cavities, any place or thing you try is not going to make this less bad." Which was honestly so rude and insensitive. I felt awful afterwards and immediately changed dentists. The only upside of the experience is that it made me finally find someone kind and understanding and very knowledgeable. If you are nervous around dental appointments, I sadly, do not recommend Snow dental anymore. read more

I went to Dr Snow's office for a cleaning and then back for a cavity filling. The cleaning went fine and the office is really cute, but the cavity filling was a disaster. I've had about 6 fillings prior to this, and I never had anything go wrong, but with Dr Snow, I guess he injected the novocaine into a nerve and I got REALLY lightheaded and I came so close to fainting. I've come to learn that this is easily avoidable by pulling back a little bit once the needle is in the gum to see if any blood comes out. The conclusion was that I was allergic to norepinephrine (not true). This wasn't the only thing that went wrong. A few days later I was eating and I got a sharp pain in the tooth that had just been filled. I went back and he said the tooth had cracked. I had to get it replaced with an onlay (by another dentist, because there was no way I was trusting Dr Snow any further!) I would NOT recommend this dentist. My new dentist fixed Dr Snow's mistake and I've had a couple of cleanings without issue (and no near faintings, even though I've had to be numbed a few times since). read more

After visiting other dentists and being bombarded with products and procedures I didn't want, ask for or need, I went to Dr. Snow -- and there was none of that. I have been going to Snow Dental for years. All was well when Dr. Snow was the dentist. I recently went in April and had a substandard experience. First, I received a text message confirming the appointment, but it had the wrong name and different time than I was originally told. I called and the receptionist offered no apology or explanation why the wrong name or time were on the text message. She just stated, "Well your appointment is at this time". I said okay and drove to the dentist's office. Since there are COVID precautions I texted the phone number on the sign to let them know I had arrived. No response. 15 minutes later, I called to notify them again that I was in the parking lot. Laura Wood, the office manager, said "Oh we were just coming to get you!" (Which doesn't make sense because I was sitting in my car, they didn't know which car, and they don't come to your car, they wait for you to come to the door.) I walk to the door, and see a sign that says something to the effect of "Smile, you are responsible for the energy you bring in here." This is a red flag to me, which means just act like everything is okay, because we have no capacity to handle any situation where you are less than happy. Laura Wood then asks me how I am or something to this effect. I told her that I'm not great given that there is so much confusion regarding this appointment. She has very poor customer service skills and offers no accountability or empathy, but states "Well I did respond to your text". Laura never apologizes for the confusion. Laura never offers empathy. Laura continues her excuses and explanations. I honestly was shocked at the nonexistent customer service. After I realized this was a futile conversation, I stated I wanted to see the dentist. I was led back to the dental chair, seconds after I sat down in the chair, Laura Wood barged into the room. She said how she wanted me to have a good experience and I said me too. I said, "Can I tell you how this is from my perspective? My experience is that you have my name wrong, that you have the time of the appointment wrong, and that you left me in the parking lot for 15 minutes. My experience is that y'all don't have it all together. Her response, "We do have it all together!" At that point, I realized this was a useless conversation as Laura Wood has no capacity to take in others perspective and validate their experience. Poor poor customer service. I just said yes, until she left the room. Nichole proceeded with the dental cleaning which went well. The new dentist came in and looked at teeth and everything was fine. Then a few weeks later, I received this email stating- "At Snow Dental we feel that it is imperative to have a good two-way patient relationship with any patient that is treated at the practice. We also believe that it is important for both parties to have a good feeling after an appointment at our office. Unfortunately, I do not believe we have been able to establish this connection. In order to get the type of dental care you are looking for; We feel as though you would be better served at another dental practice. We will forward your records to another dentist at your request. So that you have adequate time to find another dentist, should a dental emergency occur within the next 30 days, we will be available to see you during normal office hours. Please make sure that you seek care so that your dental health is not adversely affected. Sincerely, Snow Dental" They terminated me as a client, because I brought up that they had the wrong name, time, and left me in the parking lot. Absurd. Happy to go elsewhere. read more

I started going here when Dr Snow was still here. He was top notch. His staff were top notch (esp the front desk people). Everything was great. He has now retired and just went to see the current dentist (Dr Ifraitekh). Well, I had to wait in the chair for about 10 mins to see him (not a big deal), but then he rushes in, asks how I was doing and looks at my mouth for about 20 secs and says "You really should get your wisdom teeth removed, so here let me write you a referral for a surgeon" and asks the hygienist to write a referral and he's out of the room. Never mind that I've talked to Dr Snow about the teeth for years and he was comfortable with them staying in, this guy just spends two mins and wants me to go get major oral surgery on his referral? It's really unfortunate that I'll have to find a new dentist now, because I'll really miss the rest of the staff there. :( read more

Charlie's getting old. Several things were not right here. I had a tooth that was giving me problems. After his exam and shrug, I pointed out some symptoms and suggested I might need a root canal, the doctor took another look and agreed. Shouldn't he have caught that? I went in for a night guard to be fitted. The tech was fiddling around with something behind me and I said "Wow, are they pouring fiberglass somewhere?" She came around with a dish of something and an applicator and said "Open. No, that's your night guard." Before I could protest, she began to spread POLYESTER RESIN directly on my teeth and gums. I couldn't stop her, so after it was done I asked the doctor if he knew what he was doing there. He said "We've always done it like that." I asked for the MSDS sheet (Material Safety Data Sheet) which he found (to his credit) and he read that direct contact and inhalation of fumes can cause nerve damage. Hmm. I have an announcement to make... This girl is cavity free!!!!!! Ok, so you may not be as thrilled and impressed as much as I, BUT, you will be thrilled and impressed when I tell you how awesome Dr. Snow and his staff are! When I needed a dentist, I came straight to Yelp, of course :) - And Dr. Snow was my number one choice. Located in a cute little yellow house, not far from downtown, Dr. Snows office is warm and welcoming. With its nicely colored walls, hard wood floors and charming decor, I almost couldn't tell I was at a dentist office. The girls behind the counter were very sweet and knowledgable. I, was personally thrilled that as a new patient, I didn't have to fill out sheet after sheet of paperwork. I was a little nervous when I was taken back to begin my appointment ( which began right on time may I add) but my dental hygienist eased my nerves. Her office was complete with colorful artwork, fresh equipment and entertaining music lightly playing in the background. Long story short - she was awesome! There was work to be done but she was gentle and explained everything. X-rays took mere minutes to shoot and load onto her computer. This lady knew what she was doin! Dr. Snow came in a little bit later to diagnose me and he was awesome too! Adorning a burnt orange Texas baseball hat, he was friendly and loved my teeth! Not one cavity, zero attempt to sign me up for unnecessary work - this coming after a terrible dental experience years ago where the jerk told me I had 12 cavities....uhhh no, I dont think so. To sum up Yelpers, Dr. Snow and his staff are truly amazing - personable, caring, and honest. I will actually enjoy going to the dentist now! read more

Ok, the pros. 1) Dr. Snow is a super-friendly and apparently a very knowledgeable dentist. 2) His front office staff is incredibly personable and all of them have a super telephone presence. Ok, so why not a 4-5 star review? Here goes... 1) My appointment ran approximately 15 minutes late. (Not a huge deal in and of itself, but these factors add up when the negatives start.) 2) The office doesn't have a wheelchair ramp. When they had a patient in a wheelchair trying to get in, the office staff's solution was to enlist those in the waiting room (including me) to lift the patient (in her wheelchair) up the steps. 3) The hygenist I had today was simply not up to the task. Her cleaning was harsh and, at times, uncomfortable. Additionally, her chair-side manner could benefit from more time with Dr. Snow. When my strong gag reflex presented problems with the X-rays, she was curt at best, although she did eventually come up with the solution of using a topical numbing agent. Initially, when I told her that my previous dentists used panoramic x-rays on me, she told me that wasn't an option since this office didn't have that machine. Her semi-lecture on oral hygeine, attempts to push me onto a three-month cleaning schedule, and sales pitch on a Sonicare toothbrush were all more reminiscient of a pushy dental chain than the laid back approach that Dr. Snow appears to provide otherwise. I wanted to LOVE Dr. Snow's office, but unfortunately, it appears that Yelp might've steered me wrong this one time. read more

This review is unique in that I didn't realize I had bad service until I went to another dentist years later. I went in to specifically get my last wisdom tooth out, not because it hurt but for personal reasons and I had specifically asked if the dentist would allow me to keep it if I booked an appointment with him- they assured me I could. When I got imaging done, they told me there wasn't one and simply got a teeth cleaning instead. The experience left me feeling very confused because I knew I had one left. In fact, during the visit I insisted I did and instead of re-imaging they informed me that if there's no pain, it's not an issue(disregarding my concern) I didn't have a need to go to a dentist until recently where actual thorough x-rays were taken and evidence shows I still have one. The principle here is that I paid for incomplete imaging and when I realized it I emailed Snow Dental and was completely ignored. Mistakes happen but you'd expect business's to rectify their mistakes or in the least face them and acknowledge a paying client. Aside from being charged for incomplete services, in the dental industry it seems like an improper scan of a client's mouth could lead to severe issues due to being overlooked. read more

I have no idea where to start with my praises for Dr. Snow and his staff! Due to a rough family history and coming from a low-income family, dental care wasn't affordable or a priority. I was fortunate to be able to get braces, but the passing of my mother made maintenance/management of it difficult. Since then, I've always been embarrassed about my dental health... often being chastised or looked down upon by the dental providers who I came across. Eventually, one of my teeth chipped off and I was referred to Dr. Snow by a family friend. Needless to say, I was nervous and anxious... but Dr. Snow and his friendly staff put me at ease! Dr. Snow is super amazing, calm, friendly, and very understanding. His staff are just as kind, too. Everyone takes the time to explain to me what is going on and why (I love learning and understanding things that are going on), and they care about how you're doing overall! The quirky underwater theme in the office is the icing on the cake. : ) I'm so happy that I decided to follow through on the recommendation to see Dr. Snow. It's definitely one of the best health decisions I've made in the recent years. Heck yes! I finally decided to get off my behind and use the bejeezus out of my insurance. I found out about Dr. Snow on this here website and did something I've never liked doing: trusting people I've never met. I took a chance on the reviews and could not be happier with Dr. Snow, my new dentist, or more thankful for the honest reviews on this site. Everything about Dr. Snow, his staff, and his office, is way better than any of the previous "dentists" I've had before. I say "dentists" in quotes because compared to Dr. Snow, those guys are incompetent, negligent frauds. I'll tell you why in a sec. The first time I went in, I met Christine, the hygienist, and not only was she professional, but very empathetic. Dare I say she was even somewhat maternal towards me? As someone who has Ma and Pa so far away, I really appreciated that. She also noticed a problem with an incisor and had Dr. Snow look at it. It turns out I had a super serious abscess going on, and they showed me the x-rays to prove it. All I knew was that I had a discolored tooth, and that I'd had it since as far back as I could remember. It never hurt and none of my past dentists or orthodontists ever even pointed it out or mentioned it. Turns out the thing was a ticking time bomb living in my jaw for 15+ years. Dr. Snow promptly referred me to an equally-awesome specialist. A couple of weeks later, I went back in for a cavity filling. Christine wasn't my hygienist that time, and I was like, "Aww, maaan" in my head, but the young lady who helped me (I didn't get her name, sorry!), was really cool and friendly, as well. Dr. Snow followed up on how my abscess treatment was going and even remembered me as The Californian Who Got the Abscess From a Skateboard Accident (that's his detective work, not mine). Again, Dr. Snow was professional, personable, and totally made me laugh while he was numbing my tooth (no one's ever been able to do that!). Even though he was busy, he didn't rush the appointment, and was really laid back. And this was on his birthday! A dentist of the people, if I ever saw one. I lucked out big time, and I've got you to thank, Yelpers! Can't wait to go in for my next cleaning in a few months! P.S.: For the lot o'whiners that complain about Dr. Snow running a few minutes late, countless doctors of varying disciplines do that. Patients have questions and these professionals take the time to answer them. If it costs you a few minutes, get over it. You should always leave an hour or more of wiggle room for any kind of appointments, anyway. read more

I just left Dr. Snow's office and was so happy with my experience I had to sit down and write a review. I am about to leave the country for a week, but have been having issues with a certain tooth. So, obviously I wanted to get it fixed ASAP. I called Dr. Snow's office and they were able to fit me in with plenty of time. Dr. Snow was not only kind, patient, knowledgeable, confident, and fast, but he also walked me through every step of the fixing my tooth. He even avoided putting a crown in! I just came back from my first visit with Dr. Snow. I am so, so excited to say that after 4 years of looking for the type of dentist to get you through a lifetime, I've found one! I had to update my review after checking out the new digs. They've moved into a little house just a few blocks north. The inside is very homey and welcoming. I smiled to see that the fish motif was kept and updated. The "rooms" seem nice and modern and the staff are as sweet as ever! Dr. Snow is the best! He is very knowledgeable and gentle. When giving novocaine shots, you can't feel a thing. He is a dentist that actually cares and wants to help you instead of rushing through to get to the next patient or trying to sell you unecessary procedures. I have a friend that has severe anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. I recommended Dr. Snow and now her anxiety is gone. Thanks in large part to my lady, Leslie L., I began going to Dr. Snow on the regular. And I do mean that. Previously I avoided the dentist like...well, a dentist. But there's something to be said for Dr. Snow's approach and skills, as well as his office staff. If I had to summarize Dr. Snow in a few choice words, I'd do so thusly: Margaritaville, Beach Boys, Good dentist He's personable, knows his craft, and has always managed to keep my chompers in good working order. The hygienists have always been cool - and I was happy to see Veronica, the tiniest hygienist in the world (seriously, you could put her in your pocket. But I wouldn't recommend it - she'd probably stab you with a dental implement.). I decided to give Dr. Snow & Co. a try after reading about the raving Yelp reviews on here about how awesome their facility & staff were. As I called to make an appointment, I was informed that the next available opening would be two months out. I hesitated as I glanced down the reviews and decided to give them a try... All good comes to those who wait ...right? I was greeted warmly by the receptionist upon arrival, as she promptly handed me the appropriate paperwork to fill out. As I was working on filling in the blanks, I noticed how much I liked the warmth of their waiting room. The room was designed to mirror a living room, and with its neutral colored decor and comfortable seating arrangements, I didn't feel like I was waiting at all. Five or seven minutes after finishing my paperwork a petite lady pushes open the office door beckoning to welcome me in. She introduced herself as "Veronica" . After seating myself comfortably in the beige dentist's chair, Veronica proceeded to take x-rays of my teeth. Now let me take a moment to credit just how through the job was done. She took at least 10 x-rays positioning the machine at different angles. In all of my years of going to the dentist, I've never experienced such detail orientation. After reviewing the x-rays with me, Veronica then proceeded to cleanse my teeth. Given that the last time I visited a dentist was 2 years ago, I was long overdue for a good cleaning. Again, I couldn't help but notice through cleansing how meticulous she was at her job. She made sure to clean every nook and cranny between my teeth, while stopping twice to ask me if I needed a break (which again, is another first for a dentist visit). Dr. Snow appears shortly after my cleaning to perform a final inspection on my teeth. His warmheartedness put my nerves at ease as we reviewed my x-rays, and as he examined my cleaned teeth. After experiencing the cleaning that I had, I would definitely recommend Dr. Snow and Veronica to everyone. read more

Doctor Snow is one of the best, no question about that. I am writing today since I was looking for his new address and stumbled on his yelp reviews. One of them mentioned lifting a wheelchair up the two steps that were, I say were, his front door. It was a negative review over a simple solution that should not bother anyone. I am handicapped also and have no problem with this. His new offices, just blocks away, are modern, clean and all on one level with parking out front, very accessible to anyone. Dr. Snow is the coolest. I actually enjoy going to the dentist now. He uses this Jedi mind trick so you never feel the Novocain shot. He's super concerned about your comfort. It seems the highly acclaimed Dr. Snow has made another life long fan today. After neglecting my dentisterial duties for the past few years, I decided it was time to bite the bullet and get my teeth cleaned (also- finally got that dental insurance...). A good friend had recommended Dr. Snow, and I'm glad I followed up! The office itself seems to be a re-purposed home, so it felt comfortable, rather than sterile or corporate. The staff was very friendly and my hygienist explained, among other things: how she looks for cavities on x-rays, that differences in dentistry philosophy make for quite a range of practices and treatments among different dentist offices, and the most effective way to floss (start with doing it regularly). Not only were my teeth polished to a shine, I was educated! My appointment did take longer than I anticipated- about an hour and 20 minutes for cleaning, x-rays, and brief exam, but most of it was in the chair, with the hygienist or dentist, and not waiting around. "Fantastic, nothing to be scared of here." The office is a cute little home renovated into a dental office. The waiting room has a plethora of magazines to read and comfy chairs. All of the ladies that work up front are extremely friendly. The dental hygienists are very careful and precise, keeping a really laid-back vibe going through the room with music playing. Then Dr. Snow walks in, one of the most friendly dentists I've ever met. He doesn't push anything on you and tells it like it is with detail. If you need something done, he'll let you know. He knows what he's doing and cares about individual needs. I've recommended Dr. Snow to three people and they all love him. If you need a dentist, give them a call. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Snow for a few years now and so far I have been very pleased with his care. I had some awful experiences with another dentist in town. I won't bore you with the details, but this dentist had recommended many services that were unnecessary by other dentists I visited after including Dr. Snow. He is very friendly, consultative and conservative about his treatments. He truly cares about the health of my teeth and gums and I have not felt pressure to buy into more services or treatments. His staff is sweet, but I was a very disappointed to hear when my favorite hygienist, Christine, was no longer there. Overall, I feel like I'm getting quality care without spending an arm and a leg. The office is comfortable and not stuffy like some I have been to in town. I actually enjoy going to the dentist which says a lot about this place. read more
