This location was in China Town, it's been a while since I found an authentic chines food establishment until today. Jokes aside, there were two older women in the back making the food and when I say, "this felt like a grandma made some old authentic food"! Grandmas cooking just hit right lol. The eggs rolls were so light and flaky and just SOO yummy and came out hot and cooked to order. Their sauce seemed to be house made? It was a little thicker in consistency for their egg roll dipping sauce which I enjoyed. The sweet and sour pork was definitely made fresh and to order. The sweet and sour pork had a crunch to it, YET it wasn't dried out, it tasted so fresh and prepared for order vs it sitting under a heat lamp like a lot of other establishments I've seen now a days. That's when the sweet and sour pork usually gets mushy and soaked in sauce. This was a perfect amount of crispyness and then dipped in sauce, cooked to order type of food. The sweet and sour pork was over a bed of white rice and had a fair amount of pork for being a "for one/individual lunch special". We also got the Mongolian beef. The beef wasn't chewy like I've had at other places and the flavor hit just right as well. The service was very kind and fast, the place felt clean and the ambiance in china town hit just right. It's been a while since we sat at a Chinese food place and said "this hit the spot and we need to come back" but I now know where to go to get some good Chinese food at a reasonable price. I'd give this place a 4 star rating, a 5 if the Mongolian beef had a bit more beef and spicier(like it mentioned on the menu, it didn't really have a spice)

Really wonderful hole in the wall restaurant just entering Chinatown on Grant. I was looking for a SF article listed restaurant that would have ultimately cost me more money and time but this place was so good and so convenient. Old school is usually the best. And very friendly lady who took my order. Very happy with my choice.

When in San Francisco I like walk around Chinatown searching for an authentic looking smaller sized restaurant which appears to be frequented by locals. No planning, no research. Menu in the window which sounds good. That's how I ended up inside Snow Garden. I had the Chicken Chow Mein and an appetizer of potstickers. Service was fast as was the kitchen. It was too much for one person to eat but it was so tasty I managed to. I will be making another visit before returning home. Check it out it looked like everyone else was enjoying their food as well.

This came with the combo, wr asked for it instead of hot and sour, really tasty!

It was my first time here I ordered beef chow main . The food was not that good but it was just ok for a late night food and I was really hungry . The lady who was working there was so efficient and fast in taking the orders . I didn't appreciate them after all that they added the to to my bill without my approval.

    Delicious Authentic Chinese Food.

10/10 Recommend! Right in the heart of ChinaTown. We walked in with a group of 10 and were greeted and sat down very quickly. The Server was very nice and brought complimentary hot tea to our table. The price of the food was definitely affordable averaging $20 per adult. We ordered house fried rice, house chow mein, orange chicken, Broccoli beef, and the entire table agreed to exceptional authentic flavor. The decor was nothing to brag about but it was clean and welcoming. I will definitely be back here on our next San Francisco trip.

Taking a stroll from our hotel we ended up in Chinatown. How does one choose? Yelp of course! Unfortunately the map didn't populate well here for us. We read the menu boards out front of several places and decided to give this place a try. Service was prompt, with hot tea brought out with the menus. We decided on our entrees and while we were waiting we heard a commotion outside. They were setting up for a street celebration with drums and dragons. So we really had dinner and a show. We were told that it happens every Friday and Saturday night. Out dinner was served while we stood on the sidewalk watching the show. My wife ordered chicken with double mushrooms and I had the beef and broccoli and hot and sour soup. ( delicious ) Plenty to share and we still brought almost 1/2 back to the room with us. We would highly recommend, if you are searching for a good meal.

We ordered the kumquat umeshu highball and the lemon oolong highball and really enjoyed, quite refreshing. We ended up getting the small squab, lamb skewer, Mapo spaghetti, and eggplant. I liked that they had a small squab option which was perfect for two people. The meal started with complimentary cucumbers and peanuts snacks perfect paired with a drink. Everything was delicious but if I pick a favorite, I think it would be the eggplant. The lamb was very tender and flavorful. It's a small restaurant so I would probably only come with 2-4 people. I think you can walk in but the wait seemed quite long so I'd try to get a res. I wish it was easier to get one or I'd be back more often :)

Read about a lot of hype about this restaurant and my friend secured a coveted Friday night dinner…read morereservation here, so we decided to give it a try. It's kind of a tiny hold-in-the-wall space at the edge of Chinatown, removed on the outskirts of the very busy central shopping & market districts, and I would not have even noticed it had I been casually walking around not looking for it. Underneath a learning center and with only a faint front facade, inside is a world of good food in a tight tiny space, bustling positive energy & vibes, and a uniquely Hong Kong dining experience that's a lot cleaner than the surrounding Chinese restaurants. At first glance of the menu, I didn't think that there would be much for us to eat here. I mostly stick to vegetarian & lighter fares, especially when dining before weekend concert or entertainment adventures. Once inside, we were greeted by a very cordial hostess and many friendly waitstaff. They proceeded to guide us through the menu and were very patient & attentive with our indecisiveness & slow speed to order. Once we figured out our selections, they were very happy to place our order and quickly brought out our selections. Every dish was well-presented. Portions can be a bit tiny, but we prefer small portions anyways, to sample as much we can without filling up and feeling weighed down. After sampling the free seasoned peanuts & marinated cucumbers, we started with the Kumquat ume-shu & osmanthus Lemon highballs. They were very tasty & refreshing, small-ish in size/quantity, but quite good & a good balance of flavorful mixers along with alcohol. The diner next to us encouraged us to also try the Chinese almond milk highball, which is not made from almond extract, but true almond milk that was carefully extracted & infused. All of the drinks were good, but I'd have to say that the Kumquat ume-shu was the winner and I'd drink it again. We ordered mostly small vegetarian bites. Sichauan cabbage, snap peas in tofu dressing, Sichauan potatoes, and olive green beans. The dishes were very good, but I wasn't a fan of the heavy sauces & flavoring used. The Sichauan tasted a bit more sour & bitter than I expected, although the vegetables with it were cooked well enough to retain some "crunch," and tasted fresh and clean. The sauces were a bit overpowering and abundant and I felt like the vegetables were drowning in them. We watched as other diners ordered more adventurous carnivore & pescatarian dishes and were amazed at the portion sizes, presentation, and appeal of such things as crab, squab, clams, jellyfish, escargot, scallops, lamb, steak, chicken, and pig head. Almost made me feel like I was missing out by being a vegetarian in a traditional Chinese restaurant, everything looked so good! But, they also looked really heavy & were smothered in sauce & seasoning too, and I like my food light, delicate, fresh, and clean. We were satiated & satisfied with our meal when they unexpected brought out a free round of the vegetarian chow mein. It was huge, and we barely even made a dent in it after eating our courses of vegetables & cocktails. I have to say, the chow mein that i did eat was great. It was perfectly oily, tasty, slippery, and salty as good chow mein should be. It was buried under a mound of vegetable toppings, but the noodles underneath were divine and some of the best that I've ever had. The restaurant is very busy, it's loud, it's bustling, it's crowded, it's fun, and its friendly. Staff constantly monitoring the room & checking in/up with diners. Lots of authentic Chinese pop culture decorations such as posters, pictures, memorabilia, trinkets, and furnishings to look at on the walls & shelves. The bar is tiny, narrow and constantly packed elbow-to-elbow. It has some smaller 2-seat cafe tables, a few larger tables for bigger parties, a narrow corridor, and a good view of the kitchen to watch the chefs create their dishes. Faint background Chinese pop music was literally drowned out by the noise of many diners having conversation but it added to the authentic HK dining experience. I liked Four Kings. It was a great dining experience with good food & excellent service. I would probably stick with highball cocktails & some lighter vegetarian fare if I came back here again. I'd probably avoid the Sichauan sauced dishes, as I wasn't a fan of the sour/bitter flavors. But the snap peas, green beans, and chow mein were my favorites. We had fun dining here, and I feel lucky to have tried a place so popular & in demand. It had a younger, upbeat, youthful feel to it, reflecting the waitstaff & demographics of its diners. I was very clean, organized, efficient, friendly, fun, and tasty, and everyone here had good vibes. Would come back here again knowing what I like now, and look forward to trying maybe some eggplant, spinach, or rice dishes next time. And I can honestly feel that there will be a next time soon!

Stopped by Palette Tea House with The Kid after FoodieLand thinking we were just coming for tea... and ended up having a full experience. We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant for 2025, it definitely felt like a special treat and lived up to the experience.

I order my item, the chicken wings and item to share: the pan-fried dumplings, while my partner ordered one of the noodle soups. She comes back later and points out that the noodle soup has soy - much apperciated because people sometimes share, etc. And I said it was just for my partner. -- The chicken wings were plump, crispy, the first two were 'heathly', didn't taste the salt, and the rest were packed with flavor. If you're looking for consistency there is a #1 spot in Chinatown for chicken wings which I will not disclose in this review. But, otherwise, for flavor - I like it here. My partner said he didn't find the ones here oily but I said the bottom ones were a little and I did enjoy it. The panfried dumplings - the meat was succulent and delicious, I didn't think there was enough soup, these ones are smaller than other places, but the meat is massive. They were good, not my favorite ever, but I think the meat was the best hands-down anywhere. - It was very busy with perhaps locals and tourists. The table on our left were these two white men in the architeture field - super vulgar and sexist talking about people they don't like, it would defintely be an HR red flag. And then to the corner on the right, there was this little family who hadn't had soup dumplings before - the grown kids ate with their hands and the parents with forks (I love to see people trying new things), I didn't see all of this going on but I asked my partner who kept looking over.. Yes, my partner was judging you but kudos to trying new things however it is. - For large parties - you'll have to wait awhile.
