I was at Keystone two years ago, staying in the Snowdance condos, and the service, price, and equipment were all very satisfactory; renting the performance package. Perfect for a once or twice a year skier. twice-a-year I'm returning for two weeks in January and renting from Snowdance again. If they are not too busy, they often allow you to keep the equipment on an off day for extended rentals at no charge. It is not a formal policy, but they try to do what they can. read more

We stumbled upon this small shop while staying nearby, and I've returned to them for longer rentals even while staying in Breck because of the high quality gear and super competitive prices--try finding better demo rates. Shop employees are attentive listeners who know the h out of their products. Virtually no wait time, unlike the bigger or chain shops, yet the Snowdance crew still maintains attention to detail with waxing and edging services and getting you set up with the right gear. Cody was very helpful. Nice ski rental store. Cheaper than using the places at Keystone ski area. Quality equipment. I got the "performance ski package" for $36 (boots, skis, ski poles) and was very pleased with the quality when I hit the slopes. Just be careful when using the navigation on the iPhone for the current business location. It took me past Keystone ski resort and ended me in the middle of no where. Anyway it is across from the "Soup and Whisky" bar as well as a small pizza place. It's NOT in the plaza with Subway. That is the other side of RT 6. read more

The main reason to rent gear from this store is the convenient location and hours if you are staying in the nearby condos. Do not expect quality or customer service. One of my bindings kept coming loose and caused me a lot of problems, but they didn't seem to care when I turned it in. I hope someone else didn't get that board after me unless it was repaired. Every other place I have rented from will give you a discount or credit for future use if something is wrong with the gear. Not renting here again. read more

We were staying at Hyatt Place and found this rental right next door. So convenient! It was not crowded when we came here on a Saturday around 10am. In and out in under ten minutes. The prices are affordable compared to renting at Keystone. About $36 for board, boots, and damage insurance (optional). All in all, great shop with nice employees. Tip: Once you pick up your rentals, keep walking towards the back of Snowdance plaza, cross the bridge over the creek and you're right at the Peru Lyft and ticket/pass pickup at Keystone. About a 4-5 minute walk. read more

The place is hard to find at first and the google maps directions will take you approximately 200 yards past the place. They have discounts for multiple days which was a selling point for us and the guy was able to help us get the skis we needed for us moderate skiers. The brands are good, mostly Volki and Rossi's Update, we had an issue with a skis and went back the next day to correct and they got a brand new pair out and sent us on our way quickly. The store is just located near the hotel we stay. The owner, Steve, is very nice and kind for clients, and tried to help look for the 4 year old kid snowboard from other stores. We group has total six people to rent. Steve has much patience to serve and offers discount for snowboard equipments. My family and I decided to use Snowdance due to the 2 positive reviews on this site; however, I have to wonder if they were written by Snowdance employees or friends. We had the exact opposite experience. We walked in and the employees seemed annoyed to see us. We were the only ones there and yet felt rushed. The worst part was yet to come. The next day on the slopes we were starting to take a private lesson at Keystone's Mountain House and discovered that my skis were not even sized to my boots - a huge oversight on their part and I was a pretty new skier so I didn't think to check my equipment before we left as that was something my family had never had to do before. I had to waste an hour round trip trekking back and forth to the Mountain House town where they ultimately couldn't size the skis for me due to them being another company's skis. I had to rent new skis as I didn't even have my cell with me to call Snowdance to try to find a solution. At night when we all returned our equipment, we asked for Snowdance to reimburse me for the lost private lesson time and we got a HUGE attitude, and were told they didn't care about the negative review they were going to receive as they don't care what people think of them. What happened to the customer comes first, etc. They didn't even reimburse me for the extra cash I had to lay out to rent skis from the mountain directly. They simply stated that Keystone should have allowed the lesson to be delayed while we trekked back to the car to drive to Snowdance to get the skis fixed. How they thought an all day private lesson could be delayed is beyond me. It also is insane that they expected Keystone to make exceptions and do us favors because of Snowdance's error when Snowdance wouldn't even stand behind their own work. In conclusion, rent from any place but this place. Yes, renting directly from the mountain is more expensive but at least if something is wrong with your equipment, they are right there to fix it and stand behind their work. Alternatively, rent from any third party place except this one. read more

Best ski rental I've been to in Colorado and Switzerland! I have badly bruised feet, crushed by toe boxes in boots I rented in Switzerland. Almost stopped me skiing forever. But the gentlemen at Snowdance listened to my problem and fitted boots to my feet. The fit was perfect, but that's not all. They showed me methodically how to buckle on the boots with the tongue firmly pressed down. It worked. I skied three days with not a single twinge of pain, and had good control of my skis. I am 62 years old, and have been skiing since age 8 -- the old leather boots. This is the first time in many years that my feet didn't hurt -- and were warm as well. I highly recommend this friendly, personal ski rental shop. read more

My husband and I rented a condo from Key to the Rockies and asked the guy there good places to rent skis and he gave us a few options and told us about Snowdance and since it was right below the office we checked them out first. The guy working was super friendly and helped us pick out the right equipment since we weren't that experienced. Another big plus was that we received 10% off for renting with Key to the Rockies and their prices were already half the cost of the places on the slopes. We only meant to ask and get set up to come back the following morning to pick everything up and the guy let us take everything that afternoon and only charged us for the following day. We broke up our ski days and we just had bring the equipment back and the guy put it aside so it was ready to pick up for our 2nd day of skiing. We will definitely be renting from this place again. I don't know how the review from 1/17 was so bad - we had 3 separate guys help us and all were friendly and happy to help. The place is small but we were usually the only ones in there. read more

Best ski rental experience we've ever had. The employees were pleasant, helpful, and didn't seem to mind at all fitting our 2 kids on their first ski trip. We had to go back the next day to change some equipment and they couldn't have been easier to deal with. Add in the great prices, location very close to the resort area, and the hours that allowed us to pick up the night before so we were able to hit the slopes first thing... Small store feels a little hectic, but the staff is friendly and more attentive than they appear, getting you in and out quickly even when crowded. I enjoyed skiing on the skis from the "sport" package, and when I mentioned this to the staff, I was told they are waxed and edged between every rental. Boots fit well, which is unusual for me. Less expensive then many of the other stores, and the only one I found that would give the online reservation discount for same day rental. read more

Worst repair shop ever. Felt very unwelcomed from the start and it only got worse...a screw was loose on my snowboard and we asked the owner to tighten it and check the others as it required a specific tool that we did not have...instead of fixing it he broke it! He told us he wasn't responsible for the new damage that he caused and offered to drill a new hole in the binding because he didn't have the correct screw my board needed. We left the shop and went to Christy sports instead where they gave us a new screw (that actually fit) and tightened others. It took Christy sports all of 30 seconds to fix it for $2! read more
