Stopped in to see if Buzz's could help me with my binding, screw fell out of the toe strap. I walked in and was greeted by staff immediately and asked how they could help. Showed them my issue and they immediately went out of their way to find what I needed and modified the strap to get me back on the hill. I walked through the shop to look around and they have a good selection on boards, skis, and accessories and at great prices. I used Buzz's on my last day, did most of my board lessons out of Lionshead so they weren't convenient for that. But they are right by Gondola 1 for Vail Village. Which is very easy to get to for the lift. Very personal experience, the equipment they give you for rentals is better than what you will get at most rental spots that want to get you in and out of the store for the volume of sales. Plus they actually check the fits and angles of the board with you on it before you leave. Free storage, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff with prices that are very competitive if not better with their discounts to everyone else so it is definitely worth visiting their shop. read more

My board was gashed up like crazy from hidden rocks from what I thought was a pow field. I've taken too 2 different shops and none were very hopeful with regards to restoring it back to its original condition. One tried and did a fair job but still had 75% of the gashes. Great shop recommended to me by some buddies from Minneapolis - Buzz's hometown. Located right in Vail Village with a great selection of gear for purchase or rental. I've purchased a board and boots here and always appreciate their recommendations (shoutout Brandon for the 32 TM-Two rec... riding them now and love em). This is also my repair shop when I'm in Vail - fair pricing, quick turnaround, and quality work patching up my base after I go hunting for pow and find sticks and stones instead. The best. I've been skiing at vail for about 20 years, but I didn't learn about Buzz's until I ripped out an edge on one of my skis a couple months ago. Right after it happened I rode up the lift with a ski instructor who has taught in vail since the 80s. I asked him where I should go to get it repaired. He said "if anyone can fix that, it's Buzz's." That's exactly what they did. They're next to one of the largest and most expensive resorts in the world but you feel like you're at the ski shop adjacent to your local ski hill. They have reasonable prices, knowledgable staff, and best of all, everyone who works here is super nice. I found my ski shop. read more

Buzz is the freaking man. I was looking to buy a new board and they didn't have one available to demo. Buzz was nice enough to take a brand new one off the shelf and let me go demo it for the weekend (btw it was a lib tech too). Obviously I ended up buying the thing cuz it was crushing the powder we got lucky with that weekend haha. The store itself has plenty of gear you are looking for and the staff will take care of you. After a tragic experience at Vail Sports down the road (no wax, no edge, no clue -- I cancelled my order and stomped out) a local told me to check out Buzz and it was AWESOME! Everyone behind the counter was a seasoned rider with tons of advice and good humor. The board they picked had a better wax than the pope's candles, perfect for the day's conditions, and the bindings were a new set of cartels. Vail can be a catwalk/traverse nightmare on a board so a slick bottom and sharp edges are mandatory. I was amazed that with ten times better equipment it also was half the cost of the other stores. Best rental experience I've had, ever. I doubt you can go wrong here. I'm coming back for sure! read more

Buzz boards is the place to go to rent your gear for the slopes. Staff provided excellent service - very helpful and friendly. They have the best prices in town - demo ski package (boots plus skis) with a helmet cost around $50 plus. The shop is a short walk to the gondola. The let us leave our gear while we parked our car and picked them up on our way to the slopes. They also rent snow mobiles which I will def try one day. Buzz's Boards was a cool place to stop by. I only was able to stop by the in the rental area, so that is all I will be talking about. As soon as I walked in, even though it was busy, I was still acknowledged and told I would be helped as soon as they could. As I patiently waited, I noticed that they did have a lot of rentals in stock. It did feel a little cramped, so if there was a big group in there, it would feel a little too tight. But I'm sure there would be enough equipment for everybody. They had a very well mannered dog in there. Would come and sniff around at you, but never barked or jumped on you. Must be Buzz's best bud! The people helped me greatly to get a bolt for my snowboard, and charged me a reasonable price. Not too bad at all to stop by this place. read more

So glad I found Buzz's on my last trip to Vail. First I went to Christies like everyone else who doesn't know any better, and the kid at the shop literally knew nothing about snowboarding and only had three crappy decks for me to pick from in my general size - all were banged up lifeless wet noodles and the bindings looked like they were from the 80's. I didn't even bother riding the deck they gave me and went right into Buzz's before the lifts were about to open on my first day. At Buzz's I was immediately helped by someone knowledgeable about snowboarding and snowboarding gear. They have a great selection of high quality demo decks and you can even reserve a specific deck ahead of time if you know what you want to ride. My first day I rode a never summer ripsaw which was fun but I wanted something different. The next morning I went in and explained what I liked/didn't like about the Ripsaw and they put me on a LibTech ejack knife which was an awesome ride - changing the deck took ten minutes and I was ready to roll - so easy. Buzz's is right in the middle of the village and a few minutes walk from Gondola One, but it feels like a local board/ski shop. They have better gear than the bigger shops everyone rents from but at a better price with more personalized service. They also have a ton of great gear for sale as well. Dangerous place to rent skis for kids. March 2019. We rented skis and boots for our 3 year old for ski school. While skiing, the bindings kept pre-releasing. The Vail ski instructor pointed out that the minimum boot size for that binding was 218mm and that she was in a 211mm boot. After a wasted half day of skiing, the ski school put her in a different ski, no more problem. Furthermore, our daughter complained that the boots were too tight. The instructor recommended changing the set up. We went back to Buzz's to change the skis and boots, and Buzz, the owner, refused to resolve the problem. He insisted that the set-up was correct, regardless that Vail Ski School had said the equipment needed to be changed and regardless that the boots were specifically out of range of the bindings. Buzz implicated Vail ski school, suggesting that there must have been snow between the boot and binding and that the ski instructor was "stupid" and an "idiot." Without any effort he dismissed us, refused to work with us, and told us to go elsewhere. It should be also told that in 2015, we rented skis for our 4 year old son at Buzz's Boards. On the second day of ski school, level 3+, he falls and breaks his leg--the ski didn't release. We told Buzz about this incident during the discussion above. Buzz's comment: "Everyone has a chance at breaking a leg, it says it on the ski pass." That may be true, but the boot/binding problem above makes this 2015 incident more pertinent. Lesson learned: You get what you pay for at Buzz's Boards. Trying to save money can be expensive. read more

Rented from Buzz again this year. I can sum this up quickly. Best price, best products, best service. I almost hate to share this because we love the way they make time to visit with us and make sure we have just what we need. We got current year boards, boots and bindings for less than what others charge for entry level LTR products from Burton.
