We are visiting a friend in Silverthorne and stopped into Blue Valley to rent boots and helmets. The shop is clean, bright, and well organized. The pricing was great, so I definitely recommend renting here instead of at one of the mountain villages if you're in the Silverthorne area. But really, it was the friendly knowledgeable service that wowed me. As a Floridian who has been skiing for 3 years, I am pretty good on the slopes, but not very knowledgeable in gear. I had brought skis in that I was going to borrow from a friend, but they were clearly too big for me. Great experience renting from Blue Valley! They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Most of all- it was quick and easy to reserve skis and a snowboard online. Once inside the store, the staff was efficient and try-on and pickup took about 15 min from start to finish. Impressive for a holiday weekend. Although we didn't need anything else in store, it's worth noting that they also had what appeared to be a pretty good selection of new hats, gloves, jackets, etc. Would definitely come back to this place! read more

The shop also had a lot of cool gear albeit a bit pricey, but hey, it's seasonal and probably geared to out of town guests so I totally get it. Just a warning - returning items during "peak" times like 5 PM will result in a gigantic mess in the small tiny parking lot with cars being stuck in the lot, lots of backing, honking and close calls. Traveled to Colorado for a long weekend and needed to rent ski gear. They had affordable prices and it was a very quick process to pick-up and drop off gear. They gave me a newer pair of ski boots the first day and they hadn't quite been broken in yet, so I came back and went for the more "worn in" pair for comfort the next two days. The homies. Used to rent from Christy but these guys have more selection and I've always had awesome boards. Well maybe once I had a mediocre board but that was the norm at Christy. Plus for the price this is much better AND cheaper. Sometimes Groupon will do a two for one. Tune up or rental. Skis. Jackets. Boards. Helmets. Poles. Various free for sale, few jackets, socks,and gloves. Also a skate shop for warmer days. Friendly staff. Think it's the owner who has their dog walking around the store. (Friendly older dog.) Staff rides themselves at a lot of the Summit County resorts so they'll ask where you are going. Their favorites etc. Toss a buck or two into the jar for your tech! read more

This place was terrible. The people employees were rude. They were talking trash in Spanish. But nosotros hablamos español. Their "demo" package gear isn't worthy of a yard sale. We got into town late tho so we figured we'd just roll with the punches. We hit the mountain the next morning. My board was so in need of waxing I hardly made it down the first run. I took it to the tuning center which cost me an hour of fresh pow. And then I get back out there and two of my four straps are so old and worn out they wouldn't stay tight. Horrible customer service! We rented from here last year and they were really nice and helpful. I don't know if these are new guys working here but they were horribly condescending and arrogant. The front desk girl was very nice and helpful but won't return here due to guys customer service. To reply to Don you have me confused with another customer as I only rented one day, was not drunk lol, and with my family, and have only been there one other time in which we did have good service. I'm sorry you don't take comments to make positive changes which is what people typically do. I understand all about customer service as I work as a nurse manager and understand it well. I do not make bad reviews and only made this one because there was rudeness when we rented and when we returned our equipment. Would have just let it go if it had only been once. Horrible customer service. The day I went in I had five friends with me. We all got AWFUL service. All the employees were either arrogant or inexperienced. I have skied for over ten years and I know how equipment should fit. They all insisted my friends and I were wrong when we told them boots and skis were not what we wanted/needed. I wouldn't recommend this place. Go to Christy sports instead. For the price you pay and the lack of ski insurance for the demo skis your better off going elsewhere.Simply put, the store is extremely stingy on any rental damages but there stock of gear is not nearly high quality enough to warrant such strict policies. The edges of demo skis of proper quality shouldn't break from skiing groomed runs. Furthermore, the staff seemed like they didn't want to be there and would rather be elsewhere. I can not say enough good things about this shop. It was super easy to order our ski gear online the night before and they had it all ready to try on when we got there first thing in the morning. They were helpful and friendly as we tried on the ski boots and were knowledgeable and capable about how everything should fit. In addition- everything was literally half the price of the rental places up at the resorts. They even helped us load up our ski rack and showed us how to use it. Last but not least, they called us to remind us when they closed so we wouldn't be charged an extra day's rental. My family rented e-bikes from Blue Valley yesterday to celebrate a birthday and we had an amazing time! I first interacted with Moe to ensure availability for 7 of us, and his enthusiasm was evident even over the phone. Reserving the bikes online was easy and convenient. When we arrived, Brian helped us with our reservation, receiving the bikes, suggesting trails, and took us on a test run to ensure we could operate the equipment. Poor fitting gear and rude service. Plenty of other options in the area guess we chose the wrong one. Here is the body of the email I sent the management and got no response so posting it here: We picked up snowboarding gear for me and my 12 year old son on Sunday evening. The ski pants my son rented were too big but we made do with a belt. My son is an intermediate snowboarder but struggled on green circle trails at Keystone on Monday; he had to call it quits after just a few runs. He was fatigued and complained his feet hurt. He's autistic so he has a hard time communicating exactly what his needs are. I thought it might be the altitude and challenging terrain. He struggled again on Tuesday at Breckenridge. At this point I should have questioned whether his boots were right, but instead we took a rest day on Wednesday. Today at Copper he was finally able to specify the pain in his foot so we stopped into a rental shop on the mountain to try some different boots. This shop measured his feet, which your staff neglected to do on Sunday, and said your boots were a size 30 and my son needed a 28. We rented their boots and my son was able to snowboard pain-free the rest of the day today. We came in this evening to return our gear and your staff member with white hair and white beard was very impolite with his instructions for where to place our gear. Then he was extremely rude to my son while he was removing the ski pants he rented saying something to the effect of "any day now". We rented a bike and a Burley trailer from Blue Valley yesterday. We had great service and the bike and trailer were of good quality and very new. The owner took us up to the Vail Mountain Pass and then we ran / biked down through Copper and Fresco back to Silverthorne. This is a super day out with amazing views and easy cycling for all levels as it is all down hill. This is a great little store and because of the service and product, we will rent from here when we return to ski in the winter. read more

We rented bikes this morning and I can't say enough good things about this store. They not only gave in-depth instructions on how to use the e- bike, but also had us ride around in the parking lot to ensure we didn't have any questions. Then we were given suggestions on scenic routes and given detailed instructions how to find each route. The store is very close to the bike trail for the dam and Dillon Lake. read more

Make sure you get the insurance or you will be charged for normal wear and tear. There prices are not lower than others when you factor in the insurance. We were charged $45 for a scratch in the wax and I bet they won't re-wax until the end of the season. Go to Virgin Island and get better service without the BS. Never again! read more

Now that I'm in love with skiing, I've had my fair share of ski rentals. And this place is fantastic. GREAT value (hint: Book online at least a day in advance to get a discount from in-store bookings). GREAT service - they really want to make sure to get it right, and they take care of you. Just make sure that you're not wearing boots or anything that adds height, so that they can accurately estimate your equipment. GREAT equipment, try out the "newer" package, which is still super affordable. Quality skis make a huge difference especially if you're just learning or trying to improve your skills. This place is also easy to get to, plenty of parking right outside and is located among outlet shops in case you felt like buying some additional items! If you're skiing anywhere in the vicinity, this is THE place to rent your skis. read more
