Just left there. We were looking forward to a good burger. Sign at front door said seat yourself tried to find a seat. Tables were not clean. No one was bussing tables. I came here for the first time with some friends at their insistence. I didn't really have expectations for this, but they raved about the cheesy fries. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a hostess who welcomed us and led us to a booth promptly. It smelled a little funny, but you get used to it. All I ordered was the large cheesy fries with chives and bacon. It also comes with jalapeños, but I got those on the side. The cheesy fries were very filling; I split it between two other people and we still got leftovers. Dark and Dingy ! They so need to update the menu and get rid of the over sized uncomfortable wooden booths that look like church benches. The Cheese Fries have become "no flavored Greasy cheese fries". They have the best view of the Lake around -no other place there can touch. But they do nothing with it. - They could enclose two of the sides and add some heaters or fire pits outside. They also need to keep the kids out of the bar area and if they do not want to then just open the whole place up and get rid of the divided off bar area. read more

First time there. Service was very good, manager visited the table. We tried both the cheddar fries and beef tacos. Small order ISN'T small, actually very generous. I mainly wanted to go because of the ads out about the Doctor Pepper BBG Bacon Cheese Burger, and I will say the picture DOES NOT do it justice, as it's HUGE, and juicy. Service was incredibly slow for Father's Day. They were staffed well for the holiday, but there was a big delay with food coming out of the kitchen, not to mention the time it took to take our order. The burgers here are great, but the real reason to go to Snuffer's is for the Cheddar Fries! These are the best (cheese) Fries ever. I don't know why I let my wife talk me into going here time after time. It used to be good 20 years ago, but has gone in the crapper. Changes to the quality of food have been apparent. When I visited today I was greeted with a new menu on the table complete with price changes and the omission of their quarter pound burger. The place was hot inside, service was slow and the bathroom smells like a truck stop. I just always leave feeling like I didn't get my money's worth. I enjoyed it better when they had the one location on Greenville Avenue, but they've now torn it down and made it just like their cookie cutter locations. Waiting to be sat for 15 minutes when there were at least 9 tables open. They wouldn't let us sit in the bar area either. We had to wait to sit there. The hostess was terribly rude. She just pointed to the area that people were going to sit. The manager was running back and forth to tell her what tables were available. When we sat down and noticed new menus at the table, the first thing that came to mind was uh oh...price change. And sure enough the prices have gone up. They did try to sugar coat it by adding 2 new menu items and taking a couple things off. But let me ask you, when is the last time you went to a sit down restaurant and we're charged for an extra half cup (because they don't fill the cup up) of ranch dressing to dip your fries into? I could almost understand if the prices were rock bottom, but you are now paying $9 for a burger with no side of fries...just the burger. I have been going to Snuffers for years and years, usually to the Greenville Ave location so I was very disappointed in this location. I have been here before and it was ok but the trip Saturday was extremely disappointing. The waitress was new so I realize she learning but she couldn't answer any of the questions asked. As soon as we walked in there was a smell. The tables were covered in dirty dishes, the bathroom wasn't clean...so we asked to sit outside. The table was dirty and sticky. When our water was brought out the glasses were dirty. One looked like a coke had been poured out and then water put into it. It obviously had not even been washed. O asked for new glasses. My swirl margarita was melted and tasted watered down, the food wasn't hot and my burger was well done when I asked for medium. I specifically asked that it be pink. My granddaughter asked for mayo but got mustard. The waitress did send the manager out and he comped the burger I ate 2 bites of. All in all I was sad to see how far down it had gone. Snuffers is one of the best burger joints I've ever eaten at. Equal to, if not better than five guys. They also have the option to replace the ground beef in your burger with a veggie patty, which is a very helpful option for my aunt, who is vegetarian. All their food was very good , and my personal favorite is the chicken quesadilla. The service was very good, and extremely friendly. Quick and attentive to your every need. Their food was very tasty, but at the same time, extremely greasy. Not a good choice for someone trying to lose weight. All in all an overall good choice. read more

Just moved here so I went to check out the view. The view is A +, the food is a D -. How do they stay open?? It is so dirty & dark. My fried mushrooms were covered in oil & sitting on a puddle of it. The Queso is a can of red enchilada sauce mixed with a can of fake cheese like you get at the stadium. I kept hoping to see Chef Robert Irvine from Kitchen Impossible run in, shut it down, scrub it out, teach someone to cook & revamp the menu!! It would be the STAR of East Dallas! I'm surprised at many of the negative reviews. There is no disputing the fact that they make the best cheese fries on the planet, and I would also argue that they make the best blue-cheese-bacon burger. I've been eating at Snuffers since 1993 and the food tastes exactly the same now as it did then, and I hope it does not change in the next 20 years. The prices are reasonable and the service is decent (not great), but I would much rather enjoy decent service as Snuffers than have to get up from my table 3 or 4 times during my meal to get my own ketchup, mustard, hamburger toppings, drinks, etc. at a place like Fuddruckers. read more

Had to ask for the bill. 25 minutes from order of apps to delivery of apps. Chips and salsa, fried pickles (which are great), and cheddar fries. This place is just not worth the effort when there are so many restaurants in the area. View is spectacular. And I'm certain they're not using the same quality ingredients they built their name on for the past decades because it just doesn't taste the same. Yeah, I've been around long enough to have frequented the lower Greenville location in the 1980's. And yeah, the cheeseburger on the poppyseed bun is just like I remember it. Too small?
