    Master bathroom

This review is long overdue--but intentionally so. After 12 months of enjoying my newly renovated master bathroom, I can confidently say that David and his team exceeded my expectations. From the beginning, David took my design ideas and thoughtfully transformed them into a beautiful and functional reality. It was truly a pleasure to watch my vision come to life with such care and attention to detail. As with most construction projects, there were a few minor setbacks and schedule delays along the way. However, David remained communicative and transparent throughout the entire process, which made all the difference. One year later, I'm still absolutely in love with my bathroom. Everything looks and functions just as it did when the project was first completed--testament to the quality of the workmanship. I look forward to working with David again on future projects and would wholeheartedly recommend him and his team to anyone seeking a reliable and talented contractor.

So Cal Builders remodeled two bathrooms to give us wheelchair access. David was exceptionally versed in all areas of this remodel and listened well to interpret our vision. He was always calm and patient with our questions and had the attitude that he would fix anything we did not like. He had excellent communication skills but there were days when no workers showed up and we needed notice. David answered calls and texts promptly when he was contacted. All of the subcontractors were professional and very good. They worked hard and cleaned up at the end of the day. The floors were always covered but because many of the jobs required going in and out, the adjacent rooms were subjected to the constant dust. The smoke alarm went off one day during the jackhammering of concrete or tile. There were glitches of course, which David easily solved and then there were mistakes. The wrong showerhead was installed in the first shower and the second shower floor was 1 1/2 inches taller than the hallway because of the drain height. The tiler knew the tile would not be even with the floors but did not tell anyone else. Because the tile work was completed, David said a change would require the tile, concrete, and slab to be redone to lower the drain. The agreed-upon solution was a mini 'ramp' from the hall to the bath. It is difficult for the small front wheels of the wheelchair and a one-handed driver to go up the slight incline and this bathroom was the reason for the entire project! He said he would redo it to make me happy if I insisted but that would mean more drilling, jackhammering, and dust plus they were at the end of ten weeks, already later than the 8-week estimate and David knew I was ready to have our house back! So, I caved and accepted the tile as completed. I can easily enter the bath by turning my wheelchair backwards but I wish the entrance had been flat! Everything passed City Inspection and the final result was two completed, beautiful bathrooms. I am now happy with how they turned out. Thanks, David!

I worked with David from So Cal Builders and Design on a bathroom and bedroom addition to my home. We had been through a few renovation projects before so expectations were low, but I can honestly say this is the BEST experience I have ever had with a contractor. If you need work done hire David and his team! David helped navigate the whole process for us from drawing up the plans, through the entire build, and final inspection. As with any renovation project some issues arose along the way, but David's attitude was always "it's okay, we will take care of it"! He was super transparent with everything going on, and was very responsive when I had questions. He also helped me with some design ideas that I absolutely LOVE! The end result is honestly better than I could have fully envisioned, and I truly believe it wouldn't have been possible without David and his team. Thank you for everything So Cal Builders and Design!

Had other contractors come by with what I want to say is little or no experience, David came by and was able to answer all our questions and give us honest feedback on what out issues are. Made me and my wife feel comfortable the time he was here.

5.0 So cal just finished my addiction project. PM David was on top of things from plans to construction finish. As a home owner go through this the first time, I had lots of questions and David answered them with great patience. He organized the construction very efficiently. Owner Avi is also helpful when David was traveling. This is a sizable part and so cal carried through. I will hire them again.

Original Tile. was here long before we bought the house in 2003. Over 18 years and never a crack.

There was never a 3rd party that looked at the foundation that is a lie. I have uploaded the original tile before the job. No cracks ever for well over 18 years. look at the txt message I uploaded, and you can see they wanted to remove the tile warranty. How many people would have written a bad review if you had not had them sign away their rights for a little cash back. that is also included in the images.

Temporary shoring as previous load bearing walls have been removed.

David and his team helped take on the scope to remove 2 load bearing walls in our home. In addition, his team helped enlarge the rear sliding door area. David provided us with an organized schedule of tasks that his team would do. Even as we ran through a few obstacles, he was able to help us out along the way. It's not too often where you come across an honest contractor who sticks by word and work ethic. I had taken 7 or 8 other bids before we signed with David's team. I do not have any regrets. The results speak for themselves!

We realized half way through that things were going in the wrong direction. We had to stop and find someone new. My wife saw some of Dwells work in our neighborhood and was impressed. She met with the home owner and he happily recommended Dwell. So, we met with Geo and work started soon after. We had to sandblast the exterior to remove the stucco work that was incorrectly applied and apply new smooth stucco. They also installed a new roof, wrought iron railing, central air, and built a new awning with Spanish tile. Everything came out great! We enjoyed working with Geo. Easy to talk to and responsive. Guided us through the process and helped with the aesthetic choices making my wife's vision for our home come true. Pricing was straight forward. What he quoted is what we paid. Geo and his team were great to work with. Everyone was professional and friendly. They were responsive in answering questions and keeping us updated on scheduling. Everyone on the job site was friendly, diligent and efficient. Through the process, other than making design choices, we didn't have to do much. Everything was taken care of. We highly recommend Dwell and can't wait to find another project for them to do!

Their knowledge and design sense is absolutely terrific and they didn't cut a single corner. Plus, they helped me deal with the city of Burbank - a city with so much red tape and over-regulation that a lot of companies won't even build there. We initially started with a different designer that our real estate agent recommended. Big mistake! There were lots of problems with the plans down the road that we needed to fix and we realized we should've just started with DWELL from the very beginning. From now on, whenever we do renovations, this will be the only company we hire. If you want something done right, go here.

At the time, we had already received two quotes for a full master bathroom renovation. The first quote came from a reputable firm, and while their service seemed solid, their vision for the project didn't align with ours. They were focused on chrome fixtures and vinyl materials, whereas my wife and I wanted a more upscale design featuring brass finishes and marble. The second quote was much cheaper, but it was clear that corners would be cut and problems would likely arise. We weren't interested in dealing with those kinds of headaches. We decided to give G&M a call and at least have a conversation. I spoke with Joe, the owner, who came across as knowledgeable, professional, and straightforward. He arranged for Jonah, the project manager, to meet with us, and we were immediately impressed by his positive attitude and "can-do" approach. From the start, it felt like he and his company were the right fit for our project. We were able to agree on a very competitive price, and the design plan the team developed exceeded our expectations. Throughout the renovation, the crew--Danny, Philipe, Edan, and the rest of the team--were punctual, hardworking, respectful, and genuinely pleasant to have in our home. Jonah was outstanding from start to finish. He solved problems, answered every question, and consistently went the extra mile to make sure everything was done right. Now that the project is complete, we absolutely love our new bathroom. Looking back, we know we would not be nearly as happy or satisfied had we chosen either of the other contractors. Jonah and his team truly deliver five-star service, and now we understand exactly why G&M has earned such an incredible reputation. The next time we have a home improvement project, we know exactly who we'll be calling.

We had an incredible experience with G&M Home Remodeling, and especially with Joe, the owner. From…read morethe very beginning, Joe made us feel confident and supported through every step of our remodel. We interviewed three different contractors, and Joe was the only one who took the time to truly understand our vision. He met with us not once, but twice, to go over our goals in detail, including our budget. And never once pressured us to go beyond it! As first-timer tackling a major renovation, his honest advice (including what he would do if he were in our shoes) was incredibly valuable and reassuring. This was a massive project: remodeling three bathrooms, replacing sewer pipes under both the front and back of the house, mold remediation, asbestos removal, modernizing the exterior, painting inside and out, updating trim, swapping chandeliers and canned lighting, replacing interior doors, and installing a new front door and garage door. Joe truly has teams for everything, that is skilled professionals he's worked with for 10+ years and it shows in the quality and coordination of the work. His crew was consistently kind, respectful, and punctual. Every morning they showed up on time and treated our home with care. With a small child in the house, safety was a huge concern for us, and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was secure and safe for her at all times. Joe also made sure no corners were cut. He handled permits thoroughly and professionally, and when we ran into a particularly difficult inspector, Joe personally came to the house to ensure everything was up to code so we wouldn't face further delays. That level of ownership and commitment is rare. We constantly get compliments from friends and neighbors about how our 1960s home looks completely transformed, in the best way. We liked our house when we bought it, but now we absolutely LOVE it, and that's all because of Joe and his team. Joe is just a genuinely warm, lovely person who truly goes above and beyond. We can't say enough good things about him. If you're considering a contractor, don't hesitate - G&M Home Remodeling is the one.

The project ran about six months. The short version: we'd hire them again. The longer version: Jacob, the design lead, is the reason we went with them. He has a genuine passion for old buildings and pushed to preserve original details that another contractor would have torn out without a second thought. That instinct matters when you're working on something irreplaceable. Ken managed the project more quietly but kept things moving. So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?"
