Felicity is awesome. I was apprehensive about getting a tattoo at first. This was my first (second if you count a drunk night in my 20s) and I'm not the kind to easily make decisions about something that is permanent. I explained what I wanted, and Felicity was very attentive and enthusiastic. She walked me through the process and I was impressed with not only her desire to give me the design I wanted, but also her explanation of how to care for a new tattoo to keep it from getting infected. As someone who has worked in a medical environment, I was glad to see an artist who also understood the medical side of tattooing. When she began the tattoo, she had narrowed down the colors to a few choices and went over them with me. After I selected the colors, she shaved and cleaned my skin thoroughly. She showed me the sealed sterile tattoo needles before opening them. She put me at ease and began working. The process was fairly painless. She has a gentle touch with the needle. After she was done I looked at my tattoo in the mirror and I had the opposite feeling from instant regret. I immediately knew I had made the right choice. It looked fantastic. It was better than I expected. I get the sense from her that if what I had wanted wouldn't have looked good, she would have guided me to a better design. But she knew from my description that she could make it look great and went ahead. It has only been two days, but her attention to cleanliness has apparently made a difference. It's clearly not even a little infected. Infection can go from mild to major. Anything that breaks the skin has the tendency to get at least a mild infection. But not this time. The skin around the tattoo isn't even red. It looks like I've had it for months. Felicity's artistic eye for design along with her attention to cleanliness makes for a great experience. These people are awesome! I called on Christmas Eve to get my nose pierced.They said they would be open all day. I called around 5 to make sure the piercer would still be there. They said to come on in. There's street parking up and down Broadway as well as the smaller surrounding streets. I found a spot across the street. Nikey was there and greeted us with a smile. She was a sweetheart. She started by asking me to choose the type of jewelry I wanted as she set things up in the back. I felt completely comfortable with her. I went there to get my sisters and my tattoo, when messaging lev he said it should take two hours for my sister and I to get relatively small tattoos, he had us come in at 730 and he didn't start working on our tattoos until almost 1130pm. He took his precious time meaning that everything should look good. At the end of the appointment he then tells us it's 600 DOLLARS!!! We didn't get done until 4am! We go home and we take care of the tattoos and today I noticed that there is super light lines and gaps through my whole tattoo! Honestly worst experience I have ever had! For some reason, my body is very sensitive to needles and I faint very easily. And of course, I fainted for both piercings... I think this place is cool! I was looking for a place that close to my home and that wasn't going to charge me an arm and a leg to get a small tattoo. I wanted to get a small tattoo in remembrance of my grandma that passed one month ago and I wanted to get it done on what would have been her 79th birthday. I called around and spoke to Sev- he was very informative and straight to the point. I stopped by the place and it was very clean and new. I met Ivan (the tattoo artist). Spoke to both Ivan and Sev and they had a great attitude, so I made an appointment for Saturday. They accommodated my schedule needs- which I thought was totally awesome. Felicity was incredibly rude. We went in for a cartilage piercing that she rushed through. I was told to go back after two weeks to get the piercing shortened, and upon arrival, she told us that was not ready to shorten yet and to go back in another week. Went back again, which wasn't fun considering this place never has a parking spot open ANYWHERE, and she said the same thing again. So we let 2 weeks pass and went back rather than 1 week - surprised to hear her say the exact same thing yet again. I called back again just now, another week later, and she practically hung up the phone on me. I'm pretty appalled at her unprofessionalism. I got a few cartilage (tragus, rook, and conch) plus a lobe piercing done by Felicity (she was the person with dreadlocks). Felicity worked very slowly. She made the mistake of "losing the needle" in the process of piercing me multiple times and had to "massage it in." This is neither normal nor a display of adequate skill, which I realized far too late. It was an excruciating experience as it prolonged the process. What was supposed to be a very quick procedure was drawn out all because the artist in question lacks the proficiency to perform such tasks. Somehow, she managed to also "lose the needle" when she did my lobe -- the easiest possible ear piercing imaginable -- and the placement is way off. I got a little diamond stud and the metal feels really cheap. Luckily, I didn't suffer any complications, but if you're someone who's allergic to certain metals, beware. It's externally threaded which is horrible for a healing piercing. Any reputable artist would know not to install such jewelry. I'll give her extra points for helping alleviate my nerves, but that's about it. As far as the actual shop goes, it's clean, roomy, has a small selection of unbranded jewelry, and they do not accept any form of cards despite having been in business for so long. They used to take Venmo, but apparently not anymore. It's cash only. TLDR; i would advise you to see a reputable piecer instead of coming here. Felicity, an unskilled piercer, will give you the worst experience of your life and top it off with cheap jewelry while having the audacity to overcharge you. read more

I visited SoCal Ink today to get a piercing re-done as well as touch up for a tattoo I'd gotten previously where the artist had done a bit of a sloppy/rush job. I went in on a Friday night and they were able to fit me in immediately. I wanted to write a review to attest to how impressed I was with Felicity's skill and professionalism. She was able to do both my tattoo AND my piercing in one go (if you hate needles like most of us you just wanna get it over with in one go, LOL.) She made sure to show me the needles unopened in the package, everything sterilized, watched her put new gloves on etc. I really appreciate this as sanitation is so important whenever you're getting pierced or tattooed. She took her time on the tattoo which I also appreciated because when I'd first gotten it done at a different shop, they didn't bother making sure it was all filled in! She also made sure to explain the aftercare without being condescending or patronizing like a couple of other shops have been. Prices were fair as well.
