I have had to fix a few things upon accepting delivery and Rachel has been great in the service department as has Joe the manager. The biggest help I have gotten from everyone is from Tony in the parts department. Tony, Chad, and Nikki and the parts folks are awesome. Quite frankly I have read the poor reviews this place has received, and I think they are much better than what has been said about them. One of my windows was broken on delivery and I had a hard time getting follow up to get the new one ordered, though it had been promised by many folks at Holland on several occasions. I shared my frustration with Tony, and he took it upon himself to ensure that I had no further issues with Holland. Tony helped me with a weight distribution, anti-sway Blue Ox Hitch and personally got my window ordered and approved by Joe and the service team. Once Tony learned that I was having some issues that I wanted to resolve and had not been successful, he really stepped up and showed the best this place has to offer. Even though the window still needs to be fixed, this fellow really wanted to make sure that this and all the other issues (as I learn -- a newbie) are addressed. Tony goes the extra mile every time and knows no limit in showing he cares and wants to help - this guy is the best of the lot! That brings me to the final point: Holland is NOT a 1 star place deserving of 1 star reviews. They carry the finest merchandise and literally stock millions in inventory. Not everyone carries Grand Design - it is to me the Del Mar and Rancho Sante Fe of Trailers. They have all the top brands and top parts to go with them. My assessment is they are just plain overworked and busy and probably trying to get qualified additional staff in a rough market. One thing for sure though - they are ALL HEART! They truly do give a damm about the customers and showed that with me. To me, they embody classic San Diego - the big city that thinks it's a small town. If you have been to LA then you know what I mean. It's much friendlier here. These folks are very personal and put their whole heart into everything. And all of us with good hearts are not perfect - that's the point. Finally, I can't forget to mention that Dave gave my wife and I a wonderful walk through with refreshments and a red carpet service. Another Holland guy with a big heart. And Hank even delivered our trailer to us as we were not quite set up for towing (an exciting process to learn). HRV has my loyalty. They work on old cars which my Corolla wagon is 1995, and they replaced a valve cover gasket for me for $150 last year. Later, the owner Andy (aka AJ) helped me find a used 22R engine for my 1982 Toyota Sunrader RV, and later, a hood. Both those were located in LA. Then after I bought the motor, Andy bought my no good 22R engine that his neighbor took out. My hood got all rusted out from being exposed to the ocean dew for only a year. Andy looked up something for me on ChatGPT, which I at that time last year, never heard of. Now I can thank Andy for introducing me to ChaptGPT, because I chat with Chat every single day. Andy also introduced me to a "really cheap, REALLY cheap!" (those are Andy's exact words) mechanic across the street that put in the used 22R motor I bought for $850 labor. Andy said he uses that mechanic sometimes too, for his own car. I wrote separate 5 star review about that business, too. Here is picture of my 1982 Toyota Sunrader that Andy helped me find parts for. Hey I got a headlight bulb here for $15, and it's still working, can't complain! The store was…read morepretty big and seemed to have a lot of different auto parts. I had no time to peruse the aisles as who has the time other than getting exactly what you need, right? I went straight up to the counter to ask for a headlight bulb for my car. The guy picked out the right one for me right way and he even offered to show me real quick how to access it. So it was very nice of him to come out with me to my car. We popped the hood and we pulled out the housing from the socket. He tried, he really tried, but I'm not sure if he's not fully awake, daydreaming or stoned or for whatever reason, he wasn't helpful at all. I think at one point I had to stop him from doing something and tell him to do otherwise just in case the light bulb breaks with poor installation! Luckily everything turned out OK, but I think I would've done it quicker on my own because it really wasn't that hard. But at the end, it's the thought that counts. He really tried and I'm thankful that he was nice to do that. Will I come back next time? Hm... I don't know. Maybe, because it's in my neighborhood, but if anything fails then I'll probably head back to O'Reilly's...

I finally called Corporate and they got hold of the guy that ran the San Marcos facility. I paid for the parts, picked them up a few days later, wrong parts. My mechanic called him. He said he would send him an email, no response. Called several times later, nobody there. Took the parts back and they gave me a refund voucher for 50% of the cost of the parts. I sent a copy of my refund along with the amount I paid to remittance@nhmh.com, no response. Still waiting for the response and will probably will obviously have to file a credit card dispute. Called PAPE in Escondido, they ordered the correct part, received them within 24hrs and my mechanic had them installed the next day. If they were the only place to buy Catipillar parts I would never buy another Catipillar forklift.

Sandy Vans to the Rescue!…read more So... my original awning decided to pick a fight with the wind. The wind won. Turns out my Exclusive Outfitters-built Sprinter van had a VERY heavy electric Dometic awning supported by only TWO mounting brackets. And just to make things more interesting, those brackets were attached with riv-nuts drilled into the corner of my roof--which also happens to be a pop-top. I'm no engineer, but a giant heavy awning + two brackets + a pop-top roof apparently wasn't the winning combination we all hoped for. Enter Sandy Vans. I live in San Diego and needed a replacement awning ASAP because we're leaving for Utah in a couple of days. I contacted Sandy Vans and had an awesome experience from the very beginning. I spoke with Cindy two days in a row, and she was fantastic--super helpful, courteous, patient, and accommodating. When I came in to pick up the awning, if she didn't know the answer to one of my questions, she didn't just shrug and send me on my way. She immediately found someone who did. That kind of customer service goes a long way. Then came Braden. Also extremely helpful and accommodating. He handled my purchase and even gave me his cell number so I could text him if I decided to install the awning myself and needed some technical support. He did briefly mistake my Sprinter for a Ford Transit... I'll forgive him. My van has a pop-top, so it doesn't look like the 9-foot-tall Sprinter skyscrapers that make up about 90% of camper vans these days. Then Brian came out from the shop and actually took the time to look over my van and roof rack to figure out how I could mount the new awning. He gave me several ideas, explained different options, and made the whole project seem doable. Sandy Vans offered to install it, but apparently I enjoy making my life more difficult, so I decided to tackle the installation myself with a good friend. About 2.5 hours, some cutting, grinding, a few choice words directed at the old mounting brackets, and probably a questionable amount of confidence later... NEW AWNING INSTALLED! What impressed me most about Sandy Vans was that they were helpful even after realizing I might not be paying them to do the installation. They still took the time to answer questions, look at my setup, offer advice, and make themselves available if I ran into problems. That says a lot about a business. I highly recommend Sandy Vans for their customer service, knowledge, courtesy, availability, and willingness to actually help their customers. Cindy, Braden, and Brian were all great to deal with. Now hopefully this awning and the Utah wind can maintain a respectful relationship.

I finally got around to reaching out to Sandy Vans to see about getting a replacement and was told that "this item is outside of their return window" (which is 30 days) but they could offer me $50 off towards a new $200 bug screen.. which seems silly considering the first one fell apart. I'm not sure about their other products, but the bug screens are garbage! I declined their pitiful offer of $50 off a new one and told them I'd purchase from a company with a more durable product. I'd recommend anyone else thinking about buying this product do the same!

Thankfully I had some duct tape fasten it in place till I could find out who would be able to fix it. My Mechanic at Allans wrench suggested T.E. Motorsports and I'm so grateful to have found them. Jackie was able to set up an appointment for me to repair it quickly. Snug top is no longer in business but found the parts on ebay and got longer screws than the kit provided, at Home Depot. It came with a lifetime structural and paint warranty. This year (2026) the clearcoat began to fail and the red paint color was fading along the top. Valley Camper had since closed, and TE Motorsports is now the Snugtop dealer locally. To my pleasant surprise Jackie Ricardo, who sold me the camper originally, is now employed at TE still selling and servicing the same product line and likely helping with admin of the customizations TE does to other vehicles. Jackie willingly processed the warranty claim to Snugtop (now a part of the Leer Truck Accessories Group). Took a couple weeks, and Snugtop approved the warranty claim! She arranged a complete paint process with ACM Autobody and Paint also in Esco. That worked out very nicely all around. Thank you TE Motorsports and Jackie! Need a camper or repairs? Give her a call!
