Fairly quiet on a Monday lunch. Only one other table seated when I walked in. Server was to my table quickly and took my drink order and brought it to me in a to go cup as requested. Placed my order for a roll and a salad. Salad arrived promptly with plenty of dressing, and it was fresh and good. Liz's California Roll arrived after I finished my salad, which I appreciate it not being put on the table while I was eating my salad. Made as requested, but the sweet and spicy sauce was a little too much. Never saw server again. She was in the kitchen, eating and visiting with the cooks. I finally got up and went and asked for my check, at which point she told me I could come to the counter and pay. I guess because I was the only customer in the place at that time? I don't know. Placed an order with Door Dash, so this will be a review on what we received based on their menu. We ordered edamame, the Monster Roll and the Full House Roll. All items were delivered hot and looked great within the container. The edamame was perfectly steamed and salted. Flavors and freshness were on point. A great start. The Monster Roll was tasty, fresh with good crunch on the shrimp tempura and toppings. The Full House Roll had good flavor and was still crispy. However, there was no (detectable) cilantro nor jalapeño on the roll. There were tiny bits of tomato and onion. If it weren't for the accompanied wasabi, there would be NO spiciness at all. I was expecting a little kick from any jalapeño that would've been on/in it but, again, nothing. Prices are reasonable - comparable to other sushi joints; as is the flavors. All-in-all not bad sushi. But beware there is some serious heat - chopped green chili is what gives it the "spicy". I loved the taste but it did catch me by surprise (the good kind). My boyfriend's udon was ok, but the soup was bland, not enough seasoning. everything else was great. As for cleanliness, the table and the floor was super sticky. Clearly hadn't been actually cleaned and I'm guessing not sanitized either. Staff was wearing masks the whole time but no gloves and they allowed patrons to sit anywhere but tables weren't separated or blocked off. This place is run down and staff has no idea what customer service even looks like. My boyfriend and I ordered two rolls, Sunshine and Vegas. Our 12 year old "waitress" didn't even have the patience to write down my order before walking away. I never received my food and when I complained the sushi chef stated he put both rolls on one plate. Even if that's true, the only plate was enough for my boyfriend to finish in less than 5 minutes and had less than 12 pieces. The menu does not specify how many pieces you get per roll which makes it even harder to determine whether our waitress was not willing to own up to her mistake OR if they gave us both rolls with out informing us. The rolls weren't bad, but like I said, pretty average. The hard part of this review concerns the appearance of the restaurant and employees. We ordered six rolls and chicken fried rice. I cant remember what some of the rolls were called. They have a huge variety to choose from, which is a plus. The size of the roll and quality of the fish was pretty good for the price range. So, you may be thinking why would I only rate three stars? The restaurant smelled kinda funny, kinda like standing water. The waiters service was just okay. When I ordered, he made sure that I knew I much food I was ordering, "you have six rolls already" like okay, cool, I want a variety to try, I've never been there so, i wanted to try different things. The rice was the nail in the coffin. It tasted old and undercooked, or maybe refrigerated then reused, didnt taste like sushi rice. I love sushi, so that ruined it for me.
