    salmon green curry

The food is excellent. The restaurant itself is very attractive and authentic. I've been there four times in the last five weeks with a friend. The flavorful Thai food is amazing and keeps me coming back. Today, however, my salmon green curry wasn't as wonderful as normal. Maybe there was a different cook in the kitchen? It was served in a bowl rather than on an oblong plate. Bring back the version on the plate please! The only down side to dining there is that the wait staff is not very friendly. No smiles. No greeting. No "Oh hi, it's you again." No goodbye. Also, we stacked our own dishes on the table and when the waitress came to have us pay our bill, she didn't even take the stack of plates with her. If they could improve the service (it's a five now, bring it up to a 10), I think they'll find more people will be dining in instead of getting takeout.

We have been here many times and overdue for a review. I don't know why So Thai isn't busier. They do a decent carry out business but we are usually one of the few people dining in. I don't know why because it's one of the better Thai places in the metro area...more authentic than most. And, I have been to MANY as a big fan of Thai food. I had my usual Tom Yum soup to start with chicken. I ordered it medium and a word of caution....their medium is pretty hot! My wife had a stir fried vegetable dish with chicken and I had drunkin noodles with shrimp which is always great. Service always quick and friendly. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the area and want Thai food.

Sad to say, So Thai has gone from amazing to just a slight touch above average. Formerly outstanding in taste and presentation, dishes come out looking and tasting like any other Thai restaurant in the area the last few times. While their new restaurant has some nice upgrades, the food hasn't followed suit.

So Thai has really stood the test of time. The new location is much nicer and has a ton more room. They've never really been perfect here when it came to customer service but one thing that has remained the same is the food. Over the years I've felt the quality has stayed the same unlike many other restaurants in the area that have faced a huge decline in quality. I tend to mainly get the Pad Thai with fried tofu at around medium spice and it very flavorful! The portions seem a tad bit smaller than normal but overall I'd still come visit

I came in on a Saturday for lunch - my friend and I were the only party in the restaurant, but maybe COVID had something to do with it. The food and service was excellent, so I hope they are getting good business. For appetizers, we got potstickers and crab rangoon. The potstickers had thin skin that tasted homemade and pork filling that was seasoned well. The soy sauce was not too salty and it went well with the dumplings. The crab rangoon was delicious. They used fresh oil to fry them (none of that bitter flavor you sometimes taste in fried foods if they use old oil), the wonton skins were crispy, and the filling was creamy. You could actually taste crab, so it wasn't just a bunch of cream cheese filler. For my entree, I got lard na, which is rice noodles in a brown gravy with meat and vegetables. It had a lot more gravy than I'm used to (waitress did disclose it was a "broth" dish) and the gravy was on the thinner side, but it had pretty good flavor. Noodles were fresh (not dried) and had wok-seared flavor. The beef didn't taste spoiled or super old, but not quite fresh either. The dish had a generous portion of Chinese broccoli in it (would've preferred American broccoli, but I know this way is more authentic). Overall, it was a solid dish! Our waitress was friendly and helpful with the recommendations. I would definitely like to come back here to try other dishes in the future. Highly recommend!

Our service was fantastic, the atmosphere could use a little freshening up, but the food was really nice.

AMAZINGLY AUTHENTIC yummy Thai!…read more First experience thete was wonderful. Each meal made felt like it was cooked with love. We ordered a LOT and loved it all. Pad Woon Sen - glassy noddle dish with chicken was my sons favorite dish but not mine as glass noodles were not always my first choice. EVERTHING here was so tasty and fresh. Pad See Ew - very tasty!! Thai Basil - with chicken was delicious! Thai Cashew Nut with Beef - excellent, kids loved the beef the most but asked for no cashews when I served them. Tom Yom Soup - very hearty and great flavor. Glad it wasn't too spicy. Spring Rolls - could have tasted better with more veggies but still one of the best Asian spring rolls around town. But the best was the dessert! Never had mango sticky rice or coconut cistard as good as I've had here. We went around 2 PM so there was only one other table there. Food came out in a reasonable time, but the dessert took an exceptionally a long time to make. Make a note to order that well ahead of time if you don't like to wait the extra 20 minutes for dessert. Wait staff was excellent as well!! Would totally come here again. Ps. My kids asked to go back the next day. They never ask that. We will definitely be back soon! I can't wait to try more dishes.

The tom kha was super comforting and perfect amount of coconut milk. I got the shrimp fried rice and it was very good. I got all my dishes "Thai spicy" for the spice level and I will say it was spicy for sure. I tried the hot and sour soup ( tom yum) and that was also splendid. I will have the leftovers at work for lunch for sure as I'm feeling pretty full. Definitely one of the good Thai food spots in metro Detroit I've tried.

The restaurant is charming. I loved the floral décor and cute brass lighting. The menu is varied, offering both the familiar crab rangoon and spring rolls and the less familiar mango avocado salad, coconut noodles, or prew warn. I went with the mango avocado salad and pineapple curry while my friend went with the fried rice and tofu stir-fry. Of course, I also had the Thai iced tea. I don't think I saw any avocados in the salad, at least not the conventional avocado slices, but there was a good amount of crunchy, whole cashews, which I loved. The pineapple curry was fantastic. The flavorful curry had a substantial amount of seafood, shrimp, squid, and scallops. I'm glad I ordered it mild because it was already quite spicy. Incidentally, the rice comes out in fanciful shapes: stars and hearts, which makes me smile. The service was lovely. The server was friendly and professional.

Finally Found Authentic Thai That Hits Every Craving (5 and )…read more This Thai Fusion spot is a must. After moving back from California, my Thai food drought is officially over. Been craving Thai food nonstop, and after plenty of letdowns, I finally found my fix at Prime Thai. This spot nails the flavors, fresh, bold, and authentic. On my first visit I went with the hyped Pad Bi Kra Basil with fried egg, plus the Thai peanut curry, fried tofu, and Thai tea. Every dish hit, but the Pad Bi Kra Basil was the star: sweet, savory, with just the right medium spicy kick. Pro tip: order an extra fried egg, ask for the yolk about 80% cooked, and add a splash of soy or fish sauce. Absolute game-changer.

Compared to previous kitchen, the flavors of the food we ordered today was on the sweet side ... especially the ones with coconut milk like gang dang and khao soi. We ordered the prime chicken wings and shrimp roll for appetizers. The chili sauce was good. Before the servers goes back to the kitchen, better ask to have the wings cook longer so it's not cold inside the part. Very impressive is the presentation of the Khao Soi...it's like the Chinese version of the birds nest egg noodles with sautéed vegetables in white sauce on top. You mix the sauce and the noodles to soften and enjoy eating ... again tasted sweet because of the coconut milk added as ingredient. Meals and drinks were served fast. Price reasonable. Moderate sized portions - 1 main course can feed 2-3 persons. Located next to a gym of Anytime fitness and across is the dollar tree store. Free parking. Food and service was good. Overall, the dining experience was good. My only suggestion to the restaurant management is to play background music so we couldn't hear ourselves eating ‍
