    Hiroshima Roll
    Mallory H.

What a hidden gem! I was craving sushi and the place I typically go was closed so I expanded my search and I'm so glad I did because I found Simple Thai & Sushi. The sushi was very good! Spicy mayo was fabulous. They were so friendly and nice when I went in to pick it up. Will certainly be coming back to try more! I had the Hiroshima Roll, the Crazy Cali Roll & Sexy Roll. Crazy Cali was your typical tempura Cali but still great. I don't know that I could pick a favorite between the other two... Hiroshima might have a slight edge. Thank you for the great meal!

Hands down - 100% the BEST sushi I've ever had in Michigan!…read more I was skeptical. I'm a sushi snob. Here's the real deal. The yellowtail can go toe-to-toe with any Vegas yellowtail. Same for the eel sashimi. That was excellent. I loved the salmon nigiri (they just call it salmon sushi). The superstar was the teriyaki tofu, which tasted a whole lot like agedashi tofu. I had two servings. There was a really good selection and nothing tasted old or fishy. More importantly the fish was actually raw! Every bit of sushi I've had up until now in Michigan has been lox (weird), imitation crab, or cooked. Now, don't get me wrong. There was still weird, but it was manageable weird, so let's talk about it. Eel roll was mostly strips of cucumber- a large, large portion of cucumber. So much cucumber. I did taste a bit of eel, but let's be honest. That was a cucumber roll. The spicy tuna was pale. That was different. I'm not used to that, and I got a little scared. It was... Ok. It had crunchies in it. The sashimi was aggressive. You get a chunk of fish. There you go. Enjoy your chunk. This is how we do it in Michigan. This restaurant is in the spot where the Old Country Buffet was. The decor has completely changed and it's not really bougie or elegant, but it is pretty. It's also very clean. It is also HUGE. That means you need to come here and take a seat. This really is exceptional food, and we want them to stay open. So go there. Right now. The dinner price is lunch price in Las Vegas. This is definitely a deal. Enjoy!

I ordered a takeout and damn it was good…read more I had the samurai combo which included the medium rare steak, chicken and shrimp. The noodles on the side were amazing and probably the best I ever had. The service I took the drive through so there wasn't much to talk about there other than he seemed to be a nice friendly guy. Not so sure about the location the environment is really dark, and the brick building looks kinda weird within the location but I guess you should never judge a book by its cover. Would definetly come back once I come back to flint for another trip.

A friend and I went around 7:20pm on a Sunday and somehow felt completely invisible. The "hostess"…read more(big burly guy, huge silver chain, you can't miss him) sat us but didn't bring menus or say anything, so we just sat there confused for a solid 8 minutes. Our server eventually came over with menus, and then it took another 7-ish minutes before we could even order. It wasn't even that busy, which made it more confusing. The miso soup was actually good, lots of seaweed and scallions, love that. But the spoon?? Tiny handle, thick base, and weirdly hot to hold. I felt like I was fighting it the whole time. The crab rangoon though? Delicious. Super creamy filling, not overly crunchy on the outside (which I personally prefer). And the dipping sauce was more on the liquid side, which honestly worked because it coated the rangoon really well instead of just sitting there like jelly. We didn't get side plates. At first they brought out a fork and knife instead of chopsticks (those showed up later with the sushi). Not a huge deal, just... odd. The soy sauce tasted old and STRONG strong. And the bottle was dirty, which didn't help. The floors were also sticky, my shoes were literally sticking on the way out. The whole place smelled like grease and now my jacket does too. Love that for me. Rolls: * Spider Roll - way too many scallions and kind of a weird flavor. * Shrimp Tempura Roll - actually very good, no notes. * Hellfire Roll - nice spicy kick and HUGE. Each piece was basically two bites. The worst part? I left with pretty bad stomach cramps, and these are super normal rolls for me that I order all the time elsewhere. There were a couple decent moments, but between the slow service, sticky floors, questionable soy sauce, and how I felt after... I probably won't be back. Or maybe just grab carry out and stick to simple rolls and those crab rangoons. If I left smelling like fryer oil (one of my biggest pet peeves) and clutching my stomach, I am not handing out 3 stars.

The Crab Crunch Roll wasn't a big hit amongst friends as the coating on the outside of the rice has a funny taste that we just didn't love. Oak Park Roll was a nice twist on a California roll, the pineapple added a nice sweetness! And both the Eel Avocado and Dragon roll were delicious, though I absolutely love eel so I am biased. It looks nice inside and the kitchen is something like an open concept. There is seating inside but I don't think it I'd ever want to dine in, this definitely feels like a place you only get takeout from. We ordered online and their website told us it would be about 15 minutes, but it wasn't ready until 45 minutes after we placed our order. Maybe it's just an automated responses from the website to guess your wait time, but this could be really frustrating if you show up and expect your food to be ready and half to wait another 30 minutes.

I have come to really appreciate and enjoy the food here, please continue to be excellent. We got a carry-out order with so much. We got the fried potstickers, so crispy and delicious. We got the crab meat wantons, I am craving them right now, so crispy and yummy. I got the calzone sushi, it was crunchy on the outside and creamy delicious on the inside, I want this one every time. We got the Philadelphia roll, a summer roll with jalapenos, a cucumber and avocado roll, and the most surprising delicious treat, a crunchy chicken roll, another must have. We also got a side order of lo mien noodles, they are so good and savory, I love an order of this every time. The people working here were so kind and the portions were huge and the prices were great. We were able to order, walk around Meijer then come back and get the food with ease. Since my first time, I have stopped by a few times, and one child comes here all of the time with friends. It is a neighborhood staple.

Letting you know, this has been a 4-year await to try Noble Fish sushi and let me say, I am beyond impressed. Upon arrival, you will order at the kiosk! I wanted to try something new, I ended up ordering Regular Nigiri Set [Tuna Roll, 1 Tuna Nigiri, 1 Squid Nigiri, 1 Mackerel Nigiri, 1 Octopus Nigiri, 1 Crab Stick Nigiri, 1 Egg Nigiri]. Additionally, I ordered Spicy Tuna Crunch Roll. The Squid Nigiri was interesting and melted in my mouth - lol. My less favorite was the Mackerel Nigiri, I felt like it has a metal and fishy taste. It's amazing cooked but I do not think I will consume it raw ever again. The fish was fresh and the sushi rice was soft and cooked to perfection. Overall, I would most def love to visit this place again with family and friends. The staff was beyond helpful when I had questions and super nice.
