    "Medium" or "Malicious"?!
    Amanda S.

My pictures were removed? Here they are again. One is the dish as served, and the other is the bottom of the dish after I flipped it into the to-go box. In hindsight, nothing about this qualifies as a genuine attempt at medium--more like deliberately punitive.

WATCH OUT - PRICES ARE VERY DIFFERENT. I looked for reviews, and this definitely was our first choice. I pulled up the menu from their Facebook page, which was the only place I could find this information. I assume this restaurant controls its own page- and the menu is the background and one of the photos- This includes very clear prices. https://www.facebook.com/p/Thai-legend-100079527492102/ The other website on their FB page goes nowhere So we placed our order, I grabbed some cash with plenty for a tip and headed over. My order should be at most $24, and there was room for the tip. My bill was $42, and I asked why as I thought my order must have been mixed with someone else's- The meals were listed as $9 - I ordered pork Pad Thai and Vegetable Pineapple Fried rice dinner size- Now $14 - The Egg roll listed as $1 was $3. When I asked about the price difference, the gal in the back said," Oh, we should update the website to the new menu. " I would have given this a 5, but I don't appreciate double the price.

Massaman curry - mild, if you can believe it. Look at all the red pepper!!
    Eric S.

Pros: tasty, large portions, seems authentic, and not that expensive. Cons: The guy who takes the orders is very curt and possibly even on the rude/impatient side, for no apparent reason. Also, more importantly, the food is HOTTER THAN HADES. Seriously, we ordered mild curry pad Thai and mild massaman curry. What we got would be "medium+" or even "hot" at any other restaurant. Next time we will order "no spice" -- but it may be a very long while before we go back since the high spice level was simply more than a bit off-putting. See pictures of the massaman curry (attached to this review) and you might START to get an idea of how hot this food is.... and we ordered this as MILD. At no other restaurant in the world is this level of spice "mild."

The chicken had a very strange flavor to it in my pad Thai. Other than that flavor was pretty good.

AMAZINGLY AUTHENTIC yummy Thai!…read more First experience thete was wonderful. Each meal made felt like it was cooked with love. We ordered a LOT and loved it all. Pad Woon Sen - glassy noddle dish with chicken was my sons favorite dish but not mine as glass noodles were not always my first choice. EVERTHING here was so tasty and fresh. Pad See Ew - very tasty!! Thai Basil - with chicken was delicious! Thai Cashew Nut with Beef - excellent, kids loved the beef the most but asked for no cashews when I served them. Tom Yom Soup - very hearty and great flavor. Glad it wasn't too spicy. Spring Rolls - could have tasted better with more veggies but still one of the best Asian spring rolls around town. But the best was the dessert! Never had mango sticky rice or coconut cistard as good as I've had here. We went around 2 PM so there was only one other table there. Food came out in a reasonable time, but the dessert took an exceptionally a long time to make. Make a note to order that well ahead of time if you don't like to wait the extra 20 minutes for dessert. Wait staff was excellent as well!! Would totally come here again. Ps. My kids asked to go back the next day. They never ask that. We will definitely be back soon! I can't wait to try more dishes.

The tom kha was super comforting and perfect amount of coconut milk. I got the shrimp fried rice and it was very good. I got all my dishes "Thai spicy" for the spice level and I will say it was spicy for sure. I tried the hot and sour soup ( tom yum) and that was also splendid. I will have the leftovers at work for lunch for sure as I'm feeling pretty full. Definitely one of the good Thai food spots in metro Detroit I've tried.

My wife and I ordered takeout on Saturday. 2 orders of…read morespring rolls (5stars), chicken satay (3 stars, dry and tough but the peanut sauce is great!), 2 containers of hot and sour soup (4 stars, 1 container is enough soup for 2 people, very thick dark brown with all very small cut pieces of vegetables. Would be better with larger vegetables, more green onion and some mushrooms), the Bangkok Special House Fried Rice (very large, very tasty, even better on day 2 and my wife is going to get a third meal out of it) and Bangkok Pad Thai chicken, hot + baby corn (very tasty, needs a lot more green onion and needed more baby corn but lots of chicken and it was quite spicy hot. I normally always order Pad Thai hot and I had definite lip burn after eating. First night we ate 1 container of soup, 3/4 satay, the spring rolls and we each ate about 20% of our entrees and we were stuffed. Night 2 we finished the satay, second container of soup, I ate all my pad Thai and my wife ate about 60% of the fried rice (another 40%). Door was all tasty and with the issues identified resolved this would be our go-to Thai place from now on. We will definitely try it again but we prefer Red Chili Thai on Sashabaw at the moment. Still giving it 5 stars since it just opened. Looking forward to round #2.

The food is great, but oh man they're not playing around with the spice levels. I did get hot (not Thai hot), and it's enough to bring a bit of sweat, which I love. It's not enough to mute the flavor, but it's strong and it lingers on your lips. I ordered shrimp, fully expecting to be screwed on the number of shrimp(a recurring theme in my life) - But there was a decent number, and when I chopped them up enough to work for the dish. Overall, a solid experience. I'll definitely be stopping by in person some day.

We ordered so many dishes cause we want to have leftover too, and the portion here is big. We ended up with fried chicken, pad thai with chicken, pad see ew with beef, peanut curry with chicken, crab fried rice, tom yum soup with seafood. Everything is so good and authentic. The pad see ew is a little too sweet for us, but the flavor is still good. The spice level here is not joking and we do Mild+ for most of our dishes, which is like medium level at other place. Thai tea is very authentic and you can ask for less sweet too. Service is very friendly and the window table decoration is so cute. We will definitely come back here whenever we are craving for Thai dishes.

The restaurant is charming. I loved the floral décor and cute brass lighting. The menu is varied, offering both the familiar crab rangoon and spring rolls and the less familiar mango avocado salad, coconut noodles, or prew warn. I went with the mango avocado salad and pineapple curry while my friend went with the fried rice and tofu stir-fry. Of course, I also had the Thai iced tea. I don't think I saw any avocados in the salad, at least not the conventional avocado slices, but there was a good amount of crunchy, whole cashews, which I loved. The pineapple curry was fantastic. The flavorful curry had a substantial amount of seafood, shrimp, squid, and scallops. I'm glad I ordered it mild because it was already quite spicy. Incidentally, the rice comes out in fanciful shapes: stars and hearts, which makes me smile. The service was lovely. The server was friendly and professional.
