I rarely write reviews and try to be considerate of the behind the scenes operations as a former food service worker from my past. HOWEVER, I was very disappointed with the service. My partner and I came in around roughly 9:50-10pm. When we arrived we're were initially informed that we had to order soon because they were closing in 30 minutes and were understandings of that. Shortly after we were seated, (literally 1-2 minutes) about 3 employees came to our table letting us know we needed to order within the next few minutes. It was like 10:05. I tried asking one of the employee what the meat options were and was just interrupted by him being persistent in us ordering and did not really answer our questions, mainly because I noticed some of the meat options were pork and I do not consume pork for personal reasons. My partner and I felt overwhelmed and just ordered something we thought would not include pork. After submitting our order another employee came by with the check already without us asking insisting for us to pay before our food even came out. Mind you the restaurant closed within 20 minutes at this point. When our food did come out, it did contain PORK!!! We just left shortly afterwards and left the food on the table. read more

I was absolutely obsessed with the smell of this restaurant before I even went in! I appreciated them, giving us two grills, and the staff actually cook the meat for you. I wish I was sitting more towards the left grill because whoever cooked the pork belly on that side made sure the flame was hot enough and it cooked the pork thoroughly while also making it crispy on the outside. In front of me, the griller did not make the heat high enough so it took a while for the pork to be fully cooked. She told us it was done and it was still kind of chewy so I kept swapping back-and-forth from the left grill onto this one. That's the only reason why I gave it a four instead of a five out of five was because I did not like the way they cooked part of our pork. It was so chewy the fat was not cooked at all, but it was an easy fix. I just had to cook it longer on the other grill but again we shared two grills between eight people so 1/2 of our group got to eat more than us. I like how the pork doesn't have a really strong, pork smell, and it tasted very good like it was seasoned properly. I absolutely love the kimchi! I love how this restaurant stays open pretty late so we can enjoy eating and drinking. It's such a nice casual place to hang out. For dessert, we had kimchi fried rice haha. I recently visited here since it's located in the H-Mart plaza we go to often. Honestly, I thought it would be more like other Moo Bong Ri restorants with hot pot-style soups for sharing (전골), but it turned out to be more of a BBQ restaurant. Just a heads up so others don't get confused like I did. The place was pretty busy, which made it feel like a popular spot. The atmosphere was nice and everything looked clean and well kept. Even though it was crowded, our server was very friendly and attentive. They cooked the meat right at the table, which made the experience better. The fried rice (볶음밤) they made on the grill at the end, especially with the pork belly, was honestly the best part. Overall, really enjoyed it and would definitely come back. read more

My friend recommended us to go to this spot. He is a local and really loves this place and now I really love this Korean bbq place too! The pork belly and pork jowl was so delicious with the perilla leave and the sauce was perfect and finishing the meal with the kimchi fried rice was the best. The person who was grilling the meat for us was really sweet and friendly and gave really good recommendations too. I've been here when I was traveling to Atlanta. I wanted some eat Korean pork belly bbq and my friend recommended me this place. This place has in LA where I lived. I've been there multiple times but Duluth has same one. Not a disappointed at all. Our server was super friendly and better than in LA. Interior was better than LA too. Big place but too loud. Nothing needs to be said from my previous visit to this establishment. The place is the same. It's setup like a street pocha with modern accoutrements like in-table grills as last time, there was no options for grilling. All this place was, was soup dishes which I wasn't mad about. But since my last visit some 4 years ago, they've updated to be a street food place that prides itself not just on gukbap (literally translated "soup rice") which is a Korean staple meal, but also on what appears to be the Korean offal renaissance as well as premium grilled pork items. That as well as their extremely delicious Korean blood sausage offerings makes this place the deal for a Korean late night street food experience. But being that Atlanta just had a cold front and some snow drop that literally left me needing something to warm me up, I drove around only to see that amongst all the shops that closed early to beat the traffic and minimize their driving in the snow, Moo Bong Ri was the place and I'm glad because SuhlLungTang (Ox Bone Soup) was something I needed for these weather conditions. I ordered the ox bone soup and their soondae plate for dinner... The soondae plate has the well known Chal Soondae which is blood sausage but with the glass noodle filling and they also put on ToJong Soondae which is blood sausage filled with sweet rice and a meat/veg mixture. The some boiled offal to complete the plate. Hearty, a textural journey, filling, and very satisfying to say the least. Between the salt/chili pepper dipping mix and the salted shrimp vinegar dipping sauce, the flavor profile for the plate is incredible and highly addicting! The Ox Bone Soup is definitely worth the $14. They bring it out to you piping hot in a traditional clay bowl. By piping hot, it's bubbling as it's brought to your table! With thin rice noodles, a dash of scallions, and a few slices of brisket completes this entree. All that completes it is the rice. The broth is milky white which shows that the ox bones have been cooking for hours upon hours. It's rich, sumptuous, hearty, deep in flavor, and comforting. Almost the way your Korean countryside grandmother would make it! Once you add in the rice, flavor it with the seasonsings of your choice (salt/pepper/salted shrimp paste/red pepper paste), give it roughly 5 minutes after the bubbling stops because it's just that hot! All in all, the ox bone soup here is definitely worth having. It seems that all of their rice soup dishes are legit! Again, highly recommend! read more

Loved it here! No frills and really good food. Decor is clean and modern. Service is typical for a Korean restaurant, using the call bell system. We ordered the pork belly soup, spicy soondae soup, and spicy noodles. The pork belly soup is rich in collagen and has a deep layered flavor profile. It's silky and not greasy, great for all seasons. It comes with a generous portion of a variety of pork cuts and chives/green onions. They have a condiment set to adjust salt levels and add additional spice if needed. The spice to the spicy soondae soup adds additional depths to the soup. The casing of the blood sausage still had its snap, and the filling was very well balanced. The spicy noodles were not that spicy (which I loved) and were the perfect combination of sweet and savory. The radish kimchi and meat it comes with complemented the dish very nicely as well. Overall, this is one of the better Korean soup places in town and will be going on my regular rotation. PARKING Moo Bong Ri is in the same plaza as the Super HMart (on the left side) and shares a massive, free public parking lot out front. There are plenty of available spaces. II. SERVICE Timely. As a party of two, we were seated promptly and without wait on a weekend night. They even brought out the food in a timely fashion. The waitress was kind to make recommendations when asked. III. QUALITY I personally like their Kimchi Jigae (김치찌개), here. The spicy broth is delicious! Their alcohol selection is standard and their 순대 plates are presented well. IV. CAPACITY Busy on weekends. You'll likely have to wait if your party is larger than 2 or if you want a table that allows BBQ. For all the soondae lovers out there, this place is it!! Lots of parking available since it's in the h mart plaza and the inside is pretty big with tables all accommodating bbq. Their seats operate as the ones where you can open it up to store your stuff inside, gives you street food in Korea vibes. The menu offers soondae, a variety of soups, and bbq (including intestine which I need to come back for to see how it is). My husband and I got one soondae guk and a medium combination soondae to share. Side dishes are the staple radish and cabbage kimchi that you eat with the soup and they gave us salted fermented shrimp and some mixed salt for the soondae. I also love that they bring out a condiment tray of regular salted shrimp, salt, and spice sauce for your soup to season yourself! The soup was hearty and comforting, you just can't go wrong. Especially when you're seasoning the salt level to your liking. The soondae medium portion was smaller than we thought it would be, it came with the chapsal soondae, regular soondae and some cuts of organs/meat. I enjoyed all of them, flashbacks to Korea. I love it here! We went on a Friday night and we got seated immediately. We ordered two rounds of brisket, one pork belly, and one pork loin. We also ordered a spicy soondae soup, it was very flavorful and it was full of meat. The portion was pretty large, and it fed two people. The cold noodles here were excellent as well. The broth was icy and savory. It might be the best cold noodles I've had! The meat quality is always great, but I feel that our previous waiter grilled the meats better. I haven't tried anything bad here. Recently tried the eel and it was amazing. It was not fishy and wasn't seasoned. It was grilled to perfection and server cut it after grilling for us to eat. The thinly shaved beef brisket is exceptional but also the beef intestines... makchang and daechang are seasoned where the taste is not overwhelming and cooked on point. The kimchi fried rice is a must but it is difficult to choose to end the meal with that or the cold spicy chewy noodle (비빔면). Make sure to ask for some of the cold noodle stock (육수) to pour over the noodles. If you are up for it, you should get both. You sit on chairs that have a trash bin lid to store your belongings. You can also wear an apron so your clothing doesn't get food or oil splatter on them. Come hungry and wear comfortable bottoms. You WILL be full. read more

We got amazing service here even though we're not Korean ifkyk. The host, our server and the manager were all super nice. We got the pan fried soondae & gopchang w/vegetables and noodles for 2 ($54.99) and had some leftovers to take home. For the price it's a bit of a splurged but it is a unique dish I've never seen before. This is my first time trying this dish and it was delicious. The beef intestines were super clean and not gritty at all so if you're looking for the grit perhaps this is not for you. The blood sausage was the best I've ever had and was perfect in the pan. There was also a small portion of glass noodles that made it fun to eat. I saw a few people eating the bbq pork belly and that looked so good. Very good KBBQ restaurant with tasty premium mugi Fuji pork belly and wagyu beef brisket. Service was pretty good and the side dishes were very tasty, but on the limited side. The radish kimchi was my favorite. We walked in for dinner last night and were seated close to the entrance, and it was a bit warm there the entire time. Quick look around, a typical KBBQ restaurant with many TVs playing K-pop videos, soju signs, and mostly Koreans eating there. We received our drinks in a bucket full of ice which is a nice touch. The soju and beer were ice cold, making somask made it taste like water :). After ordering and letting the grill warm up, they brought out the pork belly and then the beef brisket. Was looking for a Korean restaurant that we haven't tried yet and my friends and I stumbled upon this place on yelp. There was an hour wait but it wasn't that long before we got seated. This place has 2 options- bbq or just the meal itself. We of course chose the bbq option. The place is busy as people are taking seats, the waitress and helpers are cleaning tables and grilling. Of course with the restaurant being a bit smaller it is a bit loud in there, along with the music in the background. My friends and I got their small intestine combo (feeds 2-3 people) and spicy sundae soup. I didn't take a picture of the soup but it was EXTREMELY flavorful. I never had a sundae soup like this before. I wished I bought from of their frozen sundae soups home. The small intestine was chewy, umami, and fresh; nothing gamey. They give you plenty of sides dishes. The restaurant also gives you additional aged kimchi to put on the grill. I wish they would have put less bean sprouts in the middle because we ate a lot and there's still so much bean sprouts left behind. I've heard many good things about this place, especially about their Korean blood sausage soup. So with that information, I went ahead and ordered that. They brought out small containers of different kinds of sauces and seasonings for you to season your soup, which is different than other places from my experiences. The blood sausage soup was good, but a bit sweeter than what I'm used to. Also, they didn't give you a lot of blood sausage compared to other places nearby. Service was pretty good; the servers checked up on us frequently and made sure everything was good. The inside of the restaurant is slightly dim, and kind of gives off Korean BBQ vibes. One of the most legit Korean restaurant that specializes in anything pork (y'all halal peeps, beware!). Always packed with native Koreans with a rare speckle of other colors of spectrum will guarantee you that authenticity. No frills, "focus on the contents" is another nail. Soup/rice combos are the staples, but you gotta try the pork BBQs, especially the belly and the chitterlings, to taste the real deal. Don't forget the soju slush either. Good job, Moo. I was super happy when Moobongri came to the H Mart plaza. For quite some time the only Soondae you can get is the Chapsal kind, the purple blood sausage rather than the Original, which has a completely different taste. Both kinds of Soondae are awesome. The Soondae Guk Bap - which is Soondae in soup, is also top notch. Take it to go and you can generally get 2 meals out of it. The new go-to Soondae restaurant in town! read more

I'M OBSESSED WITH THE GOPCHANG HERE. Juicy inside, crispy outside, and very fresh. The side dishes are comprised of salads that are sweet and sour. It compliments the meat really well. Have to post my third update as I've finally tried their grilled small & large intestines (gopchang and daechang) and it was GREAT! Honestly, the price is pretty expensive $30.99 per serving, and because of the price I don't think I can visit that often but I will have to say, it was some of the best gopchang I had in ATL. The filling inside the intestines were not smelly at all and it was a perfect combination. The daechang was also very good. Personally, I think Hwangso is better and juicier but it was still pretty good! They also serve a little more side dishes than if you order any non-grilled items, and they also gave us deeply fermented kimchi to cook on the grill (which was.. mediocre. The combo (which is $86.99) also comes with sunji hangover soup, which I give it a good 4/5. It's supposed to come with one serving of gopchang, daechang and makchang but they were out of the makchang so we asked for two servings of daechang instead (usually they would do 1.5/1.5) Service was great -- the server was the manager and she kept checking up on us. I will definitely be back, but I will still have to give this place a 4, just because it was so damn pricy! read more

As a SoonDae connoisseur, this place is 10/10. Texture and flavor was on point without the gaminess on the organ meats. We also ordered Gal-bi-tang and kimchi jjigae and for the price, it definitely falls short in flavor. Stick to soondae here. 1/2 star deduction for the soups we ordered. 1/2 star deduction for the service. They ran out of rice and came out after we started our meal. Ambiance is good.
