We had Acai Bowl for dessert because why not? Acai, which they cutely described as "a-sigh-ee" is a type of South American berries which has been labelled as superfood because of their nutritional content. The acai bowl is simply blended Acai berries layered between the store's own homemade granola, topped with banana, strawberry, blueberry, and coconut with a drizzle of honey on top. It's the proof that healthy food can actually taste good! The toppings tasted great together with the acai puree and it's quite filling too. We ordered medium one which I think is a decent size. The large one can be shared between 2-3 people, but the small one I think is meant for kids, or really small eater. Service is quick and staffs is pretty friendly. ThIs was a wonderful first experience! I got the regular size (~$9 + tax), which had the perfect amount of food. The mix of granola / coconut flake / nuttiness and fruit/sweet texture works well. It felt like I was eating a slightly thicker frozen yogurt layered with healthier toppings. The service was very friendly (in fact, they proactively gave me a rewards card and coupons for my next visit), the bathroom was clean, and the space itself has a lot of seats and an airy feel. It may the job done once and a while but it's pretty expensive and honestly plays a little bit below it's size (bowls are fairly small). Only two bowls to chose from which is kind of a bummer. You can add on things but again the price tag becomes a bit too sweet to swallow. Hopefully all you health nuts get my football reference. I not one for making reviews but it's so rare nowadays to get great service that I had to post. I was in the mood for something healthier and found sobol in Astoria. I visited the sobol Astoria location on Thursday morning and as soon as I walked in I was greeted by a guy and girl. Who could tell it was my first time. They recommended me the regular bowl. It was great and they informed me that they don't use any sweetener in the açaí or dairy. The açaí was great and also the service was amazing. Shoutout to the workers and the tip to add Nutella made the bowl 10/10. We'll be back again soon! read more

This is a great Acai "Joint!" When you first walk in the environment is inviting; causal with a sharp look and light music playing. Also, plenty of available seating. I gotta give a shot out to the menu on the chalk boards behind the counter. Looks amazing! Hard to believe that's hand written. The staff was very friendly & attentive, answering all my questions about the menu as well as knowledgeable about the SoBol franchise. Also, I noticed they would always wipe down / clean tables & chairs when they had a moment. My acai bowl & nitro cold brew were excellent, tasted very fresh. Sobol it my absolute favorite place in the whole wide world for acai bowls. It's to die for. I've been to various locations, but this one, I don't think i'll be back to. I have given this location 3 tries. It's the closest to me, but I rather make the trip to Bay Terrace or Long Island because customer service speaks very highly of a place. Very disappointed with SoBol Astoria. We put in an order for 7:30 am to pick on the way to work, which we have done numerous times before. We have had issues with the website in the past, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't; today it worked. Went to pick our order at 7:44 am and the door was locked. There was an employee inside who heard and saw me knocking but didn't bother to come over and see what I needed. Instead they let me stand outside in 20 degree weather. We called and were told that they now open at 8:00 am. However the door, website, google, and yelp all still say 7:00 am. The employee told us they had also run out of almond butter and that they couldn't make our bowls...that we had already paid for. Currently waiting on the refund and for the time change to actually change where customers would be aware of it. Great way to start the morning! read more

There are only 2 choices of bowls and they're significantly smaller than the bowls at a place down the street (and that places has about 6 blend options) and more expensive. Literally the BEST Açaí bowls you can find anywhere! I was introduced to acai bowls at SoBol and boy am I lucky and spoiled. Go anywhere else thinking it will taste the same and you'll waste your money. Nothing compares to the flavor of the bowls at SoBol, and the toppings are incredible too!
