Mi novia surprised me with some SoBol delivered right to my door for lunch yesterday. On such a hot day, this Acaii bowl was the perfect treat!! It was packed too.. I'm talking blueberries, bananas, pineapples, coconut flakes, peanut butter and more! Oh and btw, when they say large they mean it! This cup was massive, as was the portion! Stopped by to pick up a smoothie after an errand next door at Suburbia Meats which shares a small parking lot with SoBol. This was my first time getting a SoBol smoothie. I scanned the menu and decided on the Super Green flavor since green drinks always look healthy to me (overly simplistic thinking, later learned the berry flavor has less sugar). The place was empty when I arrived, the staff member who took my order was friendly and my drink was made to order quickly. My smoothie was cold, creamy and delicious with just the right amount of sweetness, didn't taste bitter or vegetal at all despite its green hue. I got the smaller 16 oz. size but it was still quite filling. The acai bowls looked very good too so I'll try one of those next time I'm in the area. read more

I generally really like SoBol (comes second only to Purple Flamingo in Bellmore ) but i tend to find that not all SoBol's are created equal. Yesterday I went to grab a couple of regular bowls. The line and wait were both pretty long. I was in there about 15 minutes total. The staff was pretty pleasant and did the best they could but after freezing my bowl over night I am eating it now and a little peeved to find strawberry leaves left on the strawberries. Do people eat that? I prefer the Wantagh location. read more

Picked up a regular açaí bowl. I ask for no blueberries and I added peanut butter for the additional cost. I always like to double check my food just to avoid going home and noticing any inconsistencies. I didn't see any peanut butter. So I kindly ask the worker if they put peanut butter in. And they said yes and walked away. Ok..no problem.. I'm not going to argue. So when I got home there was the littlest amount of peanut butter under the toppings. And the açaí mix seemed way colder and chunky, with an ice taste to it. For almost a $10 bowl there should be plenty of topping to notice. In the pic it's just the granola you can even see. I would give them another shot but if it seems skimpy on the peanut butter I will say something further or simply save the $1.50 and add my own at home. read more

Sobol makes the best açaí/pitaya/green bowls on the planet. I was a regular in Astoria since they opened but sadly moved away. I found myself in Merrick so I HAD TO GO TO SOBOL and yep, just as good as I remember. My favorite is a green bowl blended with peanut butter but honestly everything is good there and made fresh. They hire these kids that have NO customer service training or any time management skills. I guess they figure since they are stuck there all day other people should have to wait 10 minutes for a bowl to be prepared. Then on top of that they mess up on your order then you have to wait another 5 minutes for them to fix the mistake. read more

Tried this place the other day and gotta say its just an average acai spot. Staff was friendly and fast but the acai bowl was just average. The fruit was fresh and the grannola was good however the acai it self was very blan. Not a terrible spot but definitely better spots to try. read more

Me and my daughter went there on her recommendation. Two regular size bowls with an add in each one. $30 which is a bit steep in my opinion. It's was delicious though, fresh fruit in the spirulina, with granola and added some peanut butter made for a nice healthy lunch. The workers were very nice, small inside but clean. My daughter enjoyed her acai bowl as well, we will be coming back for sure. read more

Arrived at 7:40pm tonight. They are opened until 8pm according to their hours of operation. When I arrived to order I was told that the "machine" was closed. When I questioned it, I was told again that their machine was closed and they did not have the password. I asked why their register would be close before 8pm. It was responded back with just a stare and no apology. This is horrible service. If you are to lazy to work until your scheduled time at least come up with better excuses than your machine is closed. This is not the first time that the employees provide bad service because someone enters 15 minutes before closing. Management needs to step in and have a conversation with their staff. read more

My students come here all the time, and I finally decided to check it out for myself. First açaí bowl! I thought it would be a yogurt consistency kind of thing topped with fruit, but the açaí is actually a frozen blend with other berries and soy. It's more like eating a frozen smoothie or a gelato. I don't usually eat a lot of sugar so for me this was super sweet (mostly the granola), and we didn't even have the honey! I think next time I'll get a nut butter instead of the granola and let it defrost a bit before eating. Nut allergies: one of my students who comes here a lot is allergic to nuts, and he manages to eat here, so I guess they do a good job of keeping the nuts separate and contained. read more

More like, SoUnhygienic..... it's upsetting to write this review because I had a great first experience. The staff was super friendly (literally every person in the store said hello) and the açaí bowl I got was fresh and delicious. My second time however, not so great. Not as friendly as the first time but that's fine - I order as usual, and when my order was up the girl asked if I wanted a lid to go; I said yes, but as she was putting the lid on I mentioned I wanted to put some more honey. She says no problem but as she removed the lid a few blueberries came out - one falling in the garbage, one stuck on the lid and one onto the counter. I had no issue with skipping some blueberries, and I in no way expected her to make a new bowl just because of those, I even said don't worry about it. She quickly apologized and took the blueberry that was on the lid and put it back into the bowl, then she proceeded to pick the blueberry up off the counter (which I'm automatically thinking she'll throw in the garbage) and also puts that back into my bowl............... I literally said to her, "you. Did. Not. Just. Put. That. Back. In. Did you?" She apologizes again, and says I'll make you a new one... I wouldn't doubt if she just put the same exact countertop blueberry back into the new one she made. I ended up scooping everything around each blueberry out anyway for precaution. That was the nastiest thing, especially someone handling food. It skeeved me out thinking about what other things may drop behind the counter and then get put back. I hate that it happened cause I loved this place. read more
