I absolutely love this place. I wish more SoBol locations served food like this location. I've liked anything that I've gotten from here. The shipwreck salad is very good....the soups and chili are very tasty....but my all time favorite are the three bean empanadas. They are SO delicious! The avocado dipping sauce add so much flavor also. The açaí, pirata, and green bowls are the best. Always. If I go elsewhere for an açaí bowl....it's just not the same. The location is very convenient. I order pretty often. But the last 4 times I've ordered from this location on the app and waited the suggested 15 mins it's never ready for when I have to pick it up. There's always an issue of "we didn't see it" "the ticket didn't print" "something went wrong" and I'm not putting the workers down because they're great! But the whole reason of placing the order online is so that you can pick up and go not pay online and still wait instore. read more

A few years ago, this was my favorite and 5 stars. SoBol has revolutionized açaí bowls for Long Island, and still to this day has the best tasting açaí ice base formula in the country (and I've had bowls everywhere). That is why I am so upset now - to be so excited and let down by having so little that I still needed to go have a meal after - and that was at a $15 expense, not just $6. The bowls are smaller, but in this case I can understand that, but this was not even filled. Normally it's propped up against the top but this is after one bite with most still intact how high it went. I understand increases but this has been too drastic to get smaller, be more, and then not even fulfill on that. This is not sustainable, the benefit simply is barely in line with the cost. I hope this changes because I don't want to lose this food I enjoy, but it soon may just become a novelty like a nice piece of steak. 5 in taste, but 2 because this is upsetting. read more

I am always a huge fan of the Sobols on Long Island and this Sobol location is no different. The bowls are always fresh and packed with amazing flavor no matter what size of the bowl I get or the type of bowl that I get. I typically order the sunshine bowl or the green bowl, my personal favorite. Although it is green, I can never taste the vegetables that are added, I only taste the sweet fruits instead. My only complaint is that I consistently get very few blueberries when I go to this location. I am not sure why! For the green bowl especially, they give plenty of pineapple and strawberries but they skimp out on the blueberries. One time I only got four of them which was extremely disappointing. I also really like their rewards system where you get a card with that gets punched out every time you order something over $10 and on the 10th time you will get a free bowl. I have enjoyed SoBol in Sayville many times now! A great take out spot, or you can sit inside / outside and enjoy the beautiful weather & town of Sayville. The prices are excellent for the product your buying. My favorite is the Steak & Salsa Flatbread, the grass-fed steak is sooo tasty! The Acai Bowls are also great and there is such a variety of different toppings to add to the bowls. During my most recent trip I tried the Beef Burrito. The Burrito was Huge!!! This place is great for a nice lunch break or dinner! I usually call my orders in ahead of time and they are always ready when I go to pick them up...and the order is always very fresh! This review is entirely for their breakfast wrap with egg whites, chicken, kale, and onions. This sucker is delicious! For ~$8 its quite big and very filling. I topped mine with some hot sauce and overall the flavors were spot on and all ingredients tasted fresh and nicely cooked. We both walked in quite hungry and saw a few of the Acai bowls and decided they looked like a total sugar-bomb and headache.... Its a blended fruit, topped with fruit, honey and coconut flakes. Maybe if it had a lot more granola and a greek yogurt??? I just don't think its what I want to eat for breakfast/lunch. read more

Sorry, but my family and I were not impressed with this place. I know they've become quite popular in the area, but we did not have a good experience when we went about a year ago. The service and food just weren't good. When I read the other review about them not washing equipment between uses (causing someone to have a nut allergy), I decided to leave my review as well. My daughter and I had the acai bowls, which honestly, are pretty much the same wherever you get them. I can't say that it tasted like anything special. It was no more fresh than I've had at the local frozen yogurt place that also offers acai bowls. They all seem to offer the same toppings too, so nothing unique there. We also ordered one of their burrito bowls and this is where it all fell down. It just wasn't good at all, and it took FOREVER -- at least way too long for this type of restaurant -- for them to make. Now maybe I'm picky because we're a family that's partially Spanish and eats tons of Cuban and Puerto Rican food, but their burrito bowl just wasn't good at all. The flavor was bland and my husband (the Cuban amongst us) was adamant that he'd had better at a Mexican chain restaurant. On top of the food, the service was slow and we didn't find it to be friendly at all. And, to add insult to injury, the place was quite overpriced. Came here for lunch on a weekday afternoon from work. LOCATION: main street area in Sayville, near to Rite Aid. You can find easy parking in the lot behind the buildings. DECOR: Place is very small and very simple, not much too it. Some indoor seating but more outside seating on the street. FOOD: Ordered the regulary Acai Bowl with bananas, coconut, honey, granola, blueberries, strawberry and mango topping. Came to about $8. A bit pricey in my opinion, but it was a very satisfying and fresh lunch. I didn't feel overfull after eating. Tasted very fresh and healthy and fruity. A cute little spot in this part of town that serves all your fruity, healthy needs! I usually get the kids bowl ($4!) and it satisfies my cravings. They also have a huge bowl (think big soup carton) for $11. Quite a deal if you ask me, seeing how these bowls are usually $10 for half the quantity. The staff is friendly and the place is kept quite clean. There are a lot of different drinks that you can choose from in fridges on the left once you come in, while more customizable/original products on menus behind the service table. For a while I didn't correct it because I saw a sign behind the counter that said something to the effect of that if you mess up an order you have to put your name on it.
