I live in Pasadena rather away from So-cal Gates & Doors and it is unlikely I had any experience with this business. But I had a very memorable encounter with the owner and I like to tell you my story. Please consider this as a personal reference. Around X-mas holiday in 2014, I was traveling Death Valley. In the past I have heard that the road condition can be bad on Hunter Mt at high elevation but the road was not closed and I thought it was OK to drive up there. I was going to leave Death Valley via Hunter Mt towards 190 HWY. The road condition got gradually worse and at elevation around 7000' my Nissan X-Terra got stuck in the large puddle filled with mud and ice. There's no way I could get my car out and there was no passing traffic. So I had to spend a night there under freezing temperature. It was really a cold night at high elevation. In the morning everything was frozen including drinking water in the car. We had a good map and GPS and figured that we should hike about 18 miles to the closest paved road. And we started a death march on snowy road early in the morning. After hiking about 3.5 miles we got really lucky and met Itay, the owner of So-cal Gates & Doors, driving his Toyota 4 WD. He is a very experienced off road driver and he was with other 4 wheeling buddies. He very kindly help me to pull my car out of the puddle, and made sure I was fine. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! is all I can say. I was trapped. My garage was so bent out of shape and the rollers off the hinges I couldn't get either of my cars out of the garage this morning. When I called them they gave me a 2 hour window for same day service and when I explained that I needed to go to a meeting they were here in 45 minutes. David is nice and very professional. Had two lift master solar openers installed on my two rolling driveway gates. Had quotes from several installers all about the same price. Dimitri was the only installer that made sense on how the motors would be installed and how the system would work. Two long hard days of work were required with significant modification to the old gates to get everything working properly and looking right. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Great service by Dimitri and Itay whom I spoke to on the phone. I called last week to install some locks in the new office and he was able to come in the very next day. He installed 10 different locks throughout the office, some keys were made to match specific entrances and the other 4 were all different. The whole process was CLEAN, CONCISE and very PROFESSIONAL.
