Came on Taco Tuesday and the place was pretty empty. Went to the counter and waited to place an order. No body was there. When someone finally saw me, he came over and didn't say one word to me. So I waited until he was ready. Only for him to look at me and say "what do you want". After I gave him a WTF look I figured maybe he having a bad day. So I asked for the Taco Tuesday special and said I'd like one of each since they had 3 different kinds (pulled pork, shrimp. Avocado). Then I asked him what the Margarita specials were as it was stated on the menu next to "Taco Tuesday". Apparently they made them with their in house Brandy. He looked at me with that same WTF look I gave him. He responded with "we don't have margaritas so no specials". Somebody dang woke up on the wrong side of the MF bed! Got the mead flight and really liked it. It came with 6 tastings. Our favorite mead flavors were passion fruit & lychee. My first time trying mead, they do it very well. Also the food was shockingly good. The poke that were in the nachos were the same quality from a poke specialty restaurant. Good chips. Wings were good and different with a distinctive smoky flavor. We also got their burger, tho it wasn't giant it was delicious and felt of good quality. Definitely want to bring more friends here, go back, and try their other drinks and food. read more

Awww man. This is our new go to local spot for drinks. The hubby and I tried this spot for quick drinks and fell in love. It's a very casual spot with a loft area and outside area. We sat in the loft for a bit and loved the vibe. But we loved the drinks even more. We receive two free tastings each, and I decided on the Apple sangria (loved it) and the peach cider(good but not on the Apple sangria level) to go. We will for sure be back. I found out about SoCal Vibes because of a 'virtual beerfest' and I'll say my ticket was worth it just to find SoCal Vibes. They're co-located with Honest Abe Ciders, kind of. They're the same owners but split into two different labels, it seems like Honest Abe's does meads and ciders that are more experimental-they've got a Watermelon-Habanero one and SoCal's seems like it's almost all fruit based. I can appreciate Abe's inventiveness but sometimes their ciders don't pan out. I will say that Abe's Lychee mead is flippin delicious! If you're keen on exploring stuff then trying some of the Abe ciders is fun. If you want something a little safer SoCal's are light and easy drinking. Just because they're lighter doesn't mean it's bad. The aforementioned beerfest came with a can of SoCal's 'Mimosa' cider and the orange wasn't overpowering, it was crisp and definitely a good one to drink on a sunny Socal summer day. I went down a bought a 4 pack of it as well as the peach one they have available. It's good, so good in fact, that I sent a few to family back east and they loved it to; I've them both on draft and they seem less carbonated than in cans, which makes sense. My only knock is that I did try their cocktail, the Quarantini, once and it's pre-made in a bottle and served warm; unless it's like a hot toddy or something hard pass on warm cocktails. Love the vibes and brews here. A must have for me is the Mexican Lollipop. Mead made with watermelon and habanero pepper. Excellent base for a michelada! Indoor and outdoor seating is available, both of which are very spacious. Staff is always nice and accommodating when my friends and I come in. Went to SoCal Vibes with a group of friends...before this I had not heard of them. It's a cute local brewery in Carson! The vibe is amazing. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a little chilly when I went but we sat in their upstairs area and super cute kinda like a Hawaiian vibe loved it. The outside area will def be cute for the summers can't wait to come back. The food menu had a good variety of food. I tried their shrimp tacos... not to shabby. My friend had their grownup grilled cheese now that was fire. Pretty cool spot! Came here on a whim, trying to find a new brewery to try out. Loved the environment. Surfer/beach theme, known for cider (or that's what I felt?), games AND food! The cider was pretty tasty, I ordered a pilsner, very light as expected. Also ordered chips and salsa and the pretzel. I expected the pretzel to be a bit more salty, and therefore did not enjoy it. This visit was a bit disappointing. Drinks were good and food was ok but the 2 stars is mainly for customer service. I came here with 2 friends and it seemed like we had to be the ones to get up to look for someone to take our order. The only time we came into contact with a server was when we got our food and when someone came to clean our table when we left. Such a fun date!! My love was feeling spontaneous, and we ended up here for a cute date in the afternoon. While we were in the area for BBQ the place was closed and we found a great little hidden gem. We got there early and left around 4pm. This brewery has over 40 different house brewed ciders, meads, and craft beer. So much variety!! As soon as you walk in you see how clean they are. The place is spotless, and I'm very observant about those things. The waitress was also very nice and knew her beers which is a great thing. She was very patient with us and recommended a few of her favorites to us. I only had one beer here and it was really good. I got the Bombegranate - 7% and my husband got the Hazy IPA. We also shared some chips and salsa and got the House Poke Bowl. The chips and salsa were really good. However I wasn't a big fan of they're Poke Bowl, but I was looking around and they had some other food that was looking really good. I was sad that I didn't choose a different option. The place itself is awesome and we will be back. Such a cute location and it's perfect for all types of occasions. Also they close at 1am on the weekends. This may be one of my most favorite places to go in LA. We hadn't been here since the early days of Covid and frequented more before then. Park anywhere in back or on the street. Any visitor we have in town we love to bring here. I never even knew what mead was prior to coming here ha. The variety of cider and mead flavors are incredible. They even do a house drinks sampler!! Yes there is still beer.. my daughter had the grilled PB&J without the pork and wow I didn't know u could make it that way yum! The shrimp taco and poke are a nice light snack and meal to have alongside the drinks, def hitting the mark when it comes to the SoCal Vibes name. Will have to try the pork sliders sometime too. The new girls working there were wonderful, I will update this review with the girls name when I can that was so awesome to us, add it to the receipt maybe? :) MY other request would be to bring back the apple juice on tap! It was very good and nice to have a kid/non alcoholic option that isn't soda or caffeinated tea, lemonade would also suffice but that juice was so good! The current flavors Mexican lollipop/watermelon habanero cider & PBJ cider and the organic maple carrot cake mead were my favorites this visit. I'd been meaning to check this new cidery out since I heard about it a few months ago (technically it was Hokulea Brewery at that point, but my understanding is it's the same brewer, they just rebranded after their initial soft open to focus more on cider). This is their second attempt at a soft open - I can tell it's still in soft-open mode, because the food situation is currently a giant question mark. There was no food available yesterday, despite one sign indicating the availability of poke, and another sign indicating the presence of a bison burger truck. I really hope they do bring the poke back, because poke would go *perfectly* with this cider. (I look forward to coming back sometime in the future and removing the question mark from my review.) The cider situation, though, was 100% ready, and excellent. They currently have 6 ciders, which are $3 per taster, or $14 to taste all 6. Obviously I tasted all 6, and they were all pretty great, and very different. Right now, they have two pure apple ciders (one bone dry and one semi-dry), a peach cider that tastes like biting into a peach, a pineapple cider that tastes like biting into a pineapple, an orange cider that tastes a bit like those candied oranges, and a dessert chocolate raspberry cider that tastes like biting into a chocolate-covered apple. (So yeah, if you don't like sweet ciders, you'd probably be less excited, as only the first two aren't very sweet. I love sweet ciders, so I was pretty happy with the selection.) They also have a few beers (I think some of them were guest-brewed by the brewer with other breweries), and one guest wine, but I didn't try any of those. I heard generally good things about the beer from other people in my group, though. The setup is nice and open, with plenty of seating, right in the shadow of their fermentation tanks, and at least when I was there, the owner and brewer was the one pouring, so I got to personally congratulate him for such tasty ciders - so that was neat, too. They do have a little parking, but not a huge amount - but there's legitimately also plenty of street parking, so I wouldn't worry too much about that unless there's a major event or something. Extra bonus: at least as of right now, go next door to Honest Abe first, get a flight there, and tell them you're coming here next, and they'll give you a token good for a free t-shirt if you get the flight here. I'm wearing it right now, and it's a pretty nice t-shirt. Only question: is the actual name of this place "SoCal Cider" or "Southern California Cider"? That's super confusing. read more

Tried the four different meads available. They were the blueberry, semi-sweet wildflower, Kaktus Kooler (based on Cactus Cooler soda's flavor profile) and the Mule Mead. Blueberry very much so tasted as one would expect, sweet enough mead with some light tartness. Semi sweet wildflower was my favorite, it tastes like a very warm and sweet but not too sweet as the name suggest flavor for a "typical" mead flavor that tasted like a high quality take on the typical mead flavoring. Kaktus Kooler blew my mind with how closely they got the flavoring down like the namesake soda. Very refreshing and interesting taste in mead for having orange and pineapple. Finally, the Mule Mead similarly achieved a strikingly close take on sipping a Moscow Mule in mead form, down to the taste of ginger beer and all within the mead. Recommend possibly trying the different meads as a group (trying each mead from friends) or a flight, and possibly taking a growler home for the price. About $11ish dollars a glass, 8.5% and the 32oz growler comes to around $20 I believe. read more
