The waiter also told me that there are chicken fingers are popular so I ended up getting chicken fingers and the person I was with got fish and chips and then we got the boneless bites for appetizer and the boneless bites we chose the maple chipotle sauce. The maple chipotle sauce was absolutely delicious a winner and probably should have got it for my chicken fingers. For my chicken fingers I did get Buffalo sauce and plum sauce just two classic sauces a portions are quite large that helps because I do find that they're pricing is higher than the typical pub the fries were delicious my food was hot you can tell that they just came out of the fryer and the chicken fingers were also hot as well. The breading on the chicken finger didn't have much taste so have to rely on the sauces to enhance your meal. the fish and chips unfortunately were a disappointment it was heavily breaded it said it was a whiskey batter and it seems like all they do is add whiskey to the batter there is absolutely no seasoning so it really is just a thick batter that is flavorless. We ended up just eating the fish we did let the waiter know that the batter was awful and he took the feedback but that's about it. The reason why we came here was because Taps had a 40 minute wait for a table for two and we were too hungry to wait that long. And honestly kind of wish that we did wait for that table at Tap. A group of us came on a Thursday night. There was barely anyone in the restaurant. Our server was fantastic. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name. The food was good. Portions were actually pretty generous. If you enjoy french fries, the burger came with lots of it. The fish and chips came with a very large piece of fish. The best part of the deep fried stuff was that none of it was too oily, and the oil seemed to clean. Dietary restrictions were not an issue for the kitchen, which was fantastic. Been wanting to check out Social for a while and was pretty disappointed. Food was okay, but the service was ... not good. The hostess gave us a bit of a hard time when we asked for a booth, asking if we were another group that had called in. When we said no, they reluctantly gave us a booth even though most of the other patrons were in the booth section. Then when I asked our server about the redemption code for the Facebook offers (which explicitly states to ask the staff for the redemption code) she told us we needed to give her the code not the other way around, so we couldn't end up using any of the offers. Probably won't come back as TAPS is in the same plaza with better food and service imo. read more

One of our party waited what felt like five minutes for their entree while the remainder of our party waited out of respect for them to get theirs After the meal we were asked the standard coffee or dessert which we declined. The next logical step would be to offer the check but we had to wait another 10 minutes to Interrupt our servers conversation with fellow staff to get the check. Food was really good. Social Eatery serves pub food in an unsuspecting area of Mississauga. The restaurant has a patio, which was perfect for the warm day when we went. We ordered the nachos, which was definitely enough for two people if you order a second appetizer. Nothing too special about these nachos compared to other American cuisine. However, I had a biased preference for these specific nachos due to the vessel of transport for the sour cream and salsa. I thought the nacho cups were such a cute touch! Also, the wait staff gave us complimentary edamame, which was really nice of them. They were a bit too salty, but we really appreciated the gesture. It's a shame that the location is out of central Mississauga because there wasn't a lot of traffic, even though we went during peak dinner hours. As a result of this, however, our waitresses were really receptive and friendly. I definitely recommend sitting out on the patio if the weather allows it! So today is the first time for me To try this restaurant and I've been meaning to try this for a long time.I have to say ambiance is 5/5 - I love how it's very homey and very conducive for intimate friends to hang out and drink and even stay longer and chat . Food is 4/5- service took longer than expectation but the aesthetic made up for it and the hand made burger patty is truly delicious.I loved my friends turkey burger ;however i got the swiss mushroom which I find a little overwhelming. Cool vibes and delicious burgers and fresh cut skinny fries! Came here for the first time with both kids (ages 1&3) and had zero expectations. I didn't know if the restaurant was kid-friendly or if it was another Jack Astor's wannabe. To my delight, it was a win on both accounts! Not only was there a kids menu (comes with drink and huge scoop of vanilla bean ice cream), it was waaaaayyy better than the chain restaurants which I detest. We were seated comfortably in the half couch/half chair tables right by the kitchen and walked past a large group of adults and other young kids. The place is spacious with various options of seating (bar area, lovely white couches, booths by the window, etc). The TVs were displayed prominently on the brick walls and lighting was sexy without being too dark. I ordered the avocado chicken club while my hubby had the mushroom Swiss burger. My daughter grabbed the top of my poppy seed bun and ate it entirely. My chicken burger was seasoned just right and was topped with crispy bacon and fresh avocado, lettuce and tomatoes. The fries were fresh cut and were on the thinner side which I really liked. The calamari app was crispy and served with homemade? taztziki with fresh garlic (would definitely order it again). The mushroom Swiss burger came with 2 parties and there was no way my hubby could've finished it. The kids had the chicken fingers (came with 3 crispy pieces of chicken breast served with a sweet honey sauce). We finished our meal by sharing the chocolate brownie with ice cream. This was a bit on the sweet side, but the warm brownie against the cold vanilla bean ice cream was totally worth it. When I work nearby, I get take out. My order is simple, almond crusted chicken tenders. Last time I ordered that, went with a salad as a side, instead of fries. That mistake incurred a charge, which wasn't mentioned to me, first of all. And secondly, it's not worth the extra money to be honest. When it came to the salad, all the wilted/browned lettuces were tucked away at the bottom with fresher ones on top as was discovered while attempting to eat this small and sad garden salad. Two bites and that was it. The rest was binned. Onto the tenders. They are good when crispy. In this case, they were properly made. Usually served with fries. More often than not, the fries are limp and soggy but wouldn't know for a last experience since that's not what I ordered. I do know why eateries sabotage the quality of their food; to save a buck, but what that does is destroy reputation. If you're sold on doing the minimum to get by, then you don't deserve a loyal customer base. It's bad practice that so many places do this. My small team consisting of a full-time colleague and student was slowly being dismantled. The former had left the company a week earlier and it was my student's last week with the company. We all decided to meet for dinner. Our original plan was to go back to Door FiftyFive. However, when we got there, the restaurant was closed due to an internal event. Bummer. Now what? Luckily, my colleague, who is a great friend, suggested that we go to Social Eatery. We wanted chicken and waffles from Door FiftyFive. She pointed out that Social Eatery has chicken and donuts, and highly recommended the dish. Great! We drove over to Social Eatery, which is situated in the Meadowvale Town Centre. It's essentially a plaza with plenty of stores and eateries. It was a nice evening. We opted for the patio area. It was a Monday night. Coronas were going for $5 each. We each had two. They were icy cold and hit the spot. I tend to enjoy getting a couple of appetizers and calling them dinner when it's hot outside. I also like sampling as much food as my stomach can handle. I got the chicken and donuts, and coriander chicken dumplings with sesame soy sauce. The chicken and donuts appetizer is amazing. It's a must to try out! The chicken is crispy and perfectly done. The sauce has a spicy kick to it, The donuts are both crispy and moist, which complement the chicken well. So good! I had the coriander chicken dumplings. They do not taste westernized. Yummy! The sesame soy sauce was perfectly done. My friend ordered almond-crusted chicken tenders with bacon salt fries. She couldn't finish the latter, so we all chipped in to sample the yummy bacon fat on the fries. I don't normally go for fries. Put bacon fat on them and I'll eat 'em. They were delicious. Our student friend had a steak. I never got to take a pic of it. She loves steak and wolfed it down. It looked amazing. For dessert, we shared my s'mores brownie. It was decadent and delicious. FOOD: I had come here on a Thursday afternoon at 1:00 pm for lunch. I had settled on the Grilled Chicken Avocado Club, which consisted of avocado, herb mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, and tomato, with a side order of french fries. In terms of the sandwich, it was quite delicious, with a good helping of herb mayonnaise spread on both sides of the bread, along with large pieces of lettuce and tomato. I loved how all of the flavours mixed-well together, which made the sandwich taste lovely. I also loved how large the sandwich was, with it being cut-in half, with each half quite large. It actually took me a while to finish each half as they were so big! The french fries were good, as there were a lot of them, with each of them being cooked to perfection. ATMOSPHERE: When I had come to the restaurant, it was very busy as there were many people dining for the holidays. We were able to get a booth quickly upon arriving which was great. Coconut shrimp was nice and big and crispy. Cooked well. Ordered the Pablo crusted fish taco. Portion size was generous, but the fish was a little over cooked. Also super hard to eat with all the fillings. Too much salsa for my liking and the tomatoes were a bit soggy, which made the taco a bit soggy too. Chicken almond crusted chicken tenders was a little on the dry side and the fries were really over cooked. Hammered and way too crunchy. Couldn't even put my fork through the fry. Bow tie rose chicken pasta was pretty tasty and one of the better dishes of the night. Service 2.5/5 Hosts were friendly. Very accommodating to us, they ensured that we had a good spot to put our baby and her stroller. Food took a while to come out over 20 min. Server also wasn't that great. She chatted to another table for at least 15 min or more without checking on us or her other tables. I get that it wasn't that busy but she didn't check on us and had time to have a full conversation with her friend. Had to go to the bar to order a drink. But the manager did come over and make sure everything was ok. They gave us a free drink as an apology. I've been here twice. The first time I believe the server was named Michelle. She was very friendly and did a great job serving us. The second time I visited my server was Tamara. She is extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy!!! The prices are really great there's basically nothing over $20 which is great when you're on a budget. For the price that you're paying the food is very delicious. The serving sizes are also really good. The tacos and the calamari are great for starting off. I had a grilled chicken bowtie which was very flavorful and delicious.. on my second visit I had the grilled chicken avocado club which was also very delicious!!! So my wife and I dropped in here a couple of weeks after the Social Eatery had opened. This location used to be the Turtle Jacks before the franchisee was talked into opening a location at Erin Mills Town Centre that never did open. The new owners did a complete rebuild of the interior and exterior of the restaurant, opening it up a lot. We were asked if we had reservations, which of course we didn't because this is Meadowvale and its a local restaurant - not the Keg. I had the Cashew Chicken Curry. I've been eating too many cashews lately, so a few more won't hurt. My wife had the Grilled Mediterreanen Chicken salad. I would rate mine as really good, my wife called hers par for the course. For example, the waitress saw that I had a tiara on my head and surprised me with a birthday dessert (y'all so damn cute, thank you to my waitress heather and the lovely hostess whose name I didn't get unfortunately!) Food: I had the fried chicken and doughnuts. It's basically about 4-5 pieces of fried, boneless chicken and 4-5 warm little timbit style doughnuts. So simple, and so flipping good. The sauce on top gives it a sweet chilli finish. All the flavours compliment each other well and it's only 10 bucks - on the subject of price: everything here is under $20, eating for two here won't break the bank and the quality is there. Visited this location the first time yesterday, food was pretty good. BUT We ordered 2 entrees and 1 appetizer and waited more than an hour to receive just our appetizer. The servers kept reassuring us that our was coming but it just took really long, and at that point I felt like the food wasn't even worth it at that point. It's so funny because I almost left after seeing how empty it was at 1pm on a Saturday (never a good sign), but I'm so happy my friend convinced me to stay. The inside decor is very stylish and spacious, and we were happily seated on some comfortable benches (this is important as I find cramped restaurants and rickety chairs to put a damper on any dining experience). Everything at this restaurant is under $20, and their menu items range between $14-$18 (mains). I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries, and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The fried chicken was very large and generously brushed with buffalo sauce. The sandwich comes served with lettuce, tomato, and a blue cheese sauce/spread. The fries were thin and deliciously crispy. The entire plate came to $15, which is very well priced for the amount and quality of food you get. On Saturdays, their drink special is $5 cocktails. I ordered the blackberry smash, as recommended by our waitress, but unfortunately was very disappointed in it. The drink was very bland and if I have to compare it, I would say it tasted like barely flavoured water (if you poured water into a glass that previously held juice then drank that, it'd taste similar to this "cocktail"). I don't think there was any alcohol in it at all, and it wasn't sweet or sour so I'm still confused what I paid $5 for (probably just water with three blackberries floating in it). Luckily I very rarely base my reviews on their drinks, so I'm still going to give the Social Eatery a 5 star rating based on their service, food, and ambience. Great new eatery that took over the turtle jacks! Went there on opening night and what a great new restaurantant for the area. One thing I will say the desserts are to die for! I clarified with Matthew who was the Manager in charge because the name was oddly familiar to Union Social Eatery but they are a different brand by the same owners. Went here on a Saturday night for a low-key bachelorette dinner and had a great time. The name is straightforward but doesn't pay much to the casual, sophisticated interior I was surprised to find on the inside. Great choices in tiles, line drawing murals, and dark shades. Our main server was great and a pleasure to chat with, though I suppose the quieter atmosphere still had a few other servers less attentive. The food and drink was a big surprise to me. The special was $5 cocktails and I really enjoyed the blackberry smash. Though it was only 1oz of gin, the drink was definitely enjoyable and complimentary to the food. My table and I started with the spinach dip - pretty basic albeit, however, more spinachy than I've seen elsewhere. Our mains were classic dishes done SO well. Mountains of fresh cut and well seasoned shoestring fries with our lamb burger and almond chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were perfectly cooked; moist on the inside with an I burnt almond breading which is so hard to come by, served with a really good honey mustard vinaigrette. The lamb burger was juicy, moist, and reminiscent of kefta inside a brioche bun. Super yummy, though I could have used a pickled vegetable in there to give it some brightness. The fettuccine was like a homestyle mac and cheese with black pepper, ham, and fresh peas. I look forward to trying some more out of this little surprise of Meadowvale. Was having a great time till the manager thought I was skipping out on the bill. Me and my girlfriend walked inside the plaza to smoke for a couple minutes while waiting for our entrees to come out. I made it a point to let the hostess know that that's where we were going (waitress wasn't around & only the patio was open anyway). We had already turned back on our very short walk to get back in the shade and back in the direction of the restaurant when I see the manager of the store in a full sprint across the parking lot to us. Note my car was in the closest parking spot to the restaurant and was visible from my seat... Didn't get so much as an apology from the manager. Soured us for the rest of the meal. It's also disgusting how short the skirts are that they make the waitresses wear (manager was in jeans tho ), anytime they stopped walking they would have to adjust it since they are so short they instantly ride up. When I went last night, they did have a special steak and shrimp special that was $24.99 so I'm not sure how often they do that type of thing (my boyfriend said it was a better cut than what he had recently had at The Keg). I opted for the Grilled Chicken Club Salad with BBQ chicken, applewood smoked bacon, grape tomatoes, avocado, sourdough croutons, romaine, hard boiled egg, buttermilk ranch, aged cheddar. Servings at Social Eatery are always generous. The only "negative" is that you have to wait a bit for food so if you're in a rush it might not be the best place to visit. However, I would much rather wait and have a delicious meal than be served quickly and be sub-standard. This is why I've been to Social Eatery 5 times in the past year.
