I went here on a late Monday afternoon by myself. This place is in the same building with a dispensary but they have separate entrances. Inside was dark with lots of tvs playing sports. I was told to sit wherever I wanted, so I took a small booth. Mondays are 50% off food for locals and that was the thing that drew me in. They give you free chips and salsa and let me tell you, their salsas are very good. My order was taken very quickly and I ordered the chicken taquitos and carnitas street tacos. Oh, and they have Coca-Cola products which is a plus! The chicken taquitos were ok, nice presentation. A little over fried but not too bad. The carnitas tacos were not good because they had way too much salt. I had them sent back and replaced with chicken wings (buffalo). These were fried in beef tallow, another plus. The wings were really good and I would definitely order them again. The wings came with fries and they too were good. Fries were cooked perfectly, slight crisp crunch and fluffy inside. Came in here for a date night for our first time since we are locals who live in the northwest we weren't greeted upon entrance and we had to reach out to the bartender to ask for a menus and get our order started drinks were great and came out at a reasonable time, however when it came to ordering food, we put our order in at 11 PM. We ordered Pastor fries and a carne asada burrito it took one hour and 15 minutes for them to bring the food out and the worst part was when it came out we got fries with the wrong protein instead of Al Pastor they brought Carnitas and it was so burned we weren't able to enjoy them. We let the bartender know. He said that he would let the kitchen know incorrect our order the Pastor fries never came out. We ended up just deciding to cancel them and call it a night. It is a challenge to find decent Mexican food in the Northwest when you are Mexican and can cook well. That said, The Cantina passes the vibe check. I've had great experiences dining in person and via takeout now, which is a small miracle in itself. Staff are extremely friendly, accommodating, happy to offer suggestions, and enthusiastically fill you in on specials and deals for locals. When staff informed us that The Cantina is managed by El Dorado I was not surprised. I am happy that we can now enjoy the quality and flavors we enjoy at their OG establishments, here in our little corner of the valley. Chips and salsa are a good indicator of how the food will be, and they nailed it. I cannot pick a favorite salsa here because they are all phenomenal. The food was great too! I loved my aguachiles, though they came pretty cooked which is not typical. The flavors and freshness were there, so it was only a minor issue. The tajin on the tostadas was nice. My husband loved his enchiladas verde and said they are almost as good as mine, which is a huge compliment considering my cooking was one of the contributing factors of his proposal. Drinks were fabulous. The paloma was huge and different considering they use Jarritos, but the way the mixologist made the drink made it work. I ordered the pozole rojo for takeout and was impressed that they cook the hominy from scratch since most places do not. Attention to detail matters. My husband's carne asada burrito was huge, and apparently tasty because he did not save me one bite! The Cantina is a 24/7 Bar, Gaming, and Restaurant located in the Centennial Area. The Restaurant offers a limited Mexican Menu and Smash Burgers. They do not use seed oils or use microwaves. I was told the only oil they use is beef tallow. Inside is kinda dark and decorated with day of the dead Mexican Pictures and other things like sombreros. But country music fills the air. Margaritas are decent. They started us off with complimentary chips and two very good salsas. My husband started off by trying a carnitas taco. He said that it was very good. We shared a chicken and steak fajita. WOW! everything about it was very good! The chicken was tender, moist, and developed with flavor. The steak had a nice delicious char and was very flavorful and very tender. I must give 5 stars because it was the best steak I ever had for fajitas anywhere. Guacamole was also better than from most places. The only thing is that the tortillas are not hand made but were very fresh so that's ok. Our server was attentive and helpful. She also informed us about all kinds of specials they offer here. 50% off to locals on Mondays and lots of other specials. We visited on Thursday for lunch, with a party of two, and it was a nice experience. We arrived and were told to seat ourselves. There is a bar as well as several seating options, it is quite dark. The waitress stopped by and took our drink order, their margaritas are strong and tasty. We started with Chicken Taquitos. They were very fresh and well prepared. From there we went with Steak and Shrimp Enchiladas. The shrimp enchiladas were extremely spicy, I like that, but it would have destroyed anyone who can not take the heat. I have been a long time fan of El Dorado Cantina's restaurants (years and years!), but this new location has quickly become my favorite. First, NW Vegas is starving for some new places and the Cantina being 24/7 is such a plus. Inside: The decor is modern with the El Dorado touch. There's low tables, few half booths, a high tops and a bar. There's plenty of tv's around so it's going to be a go-to for sports watching. Service: Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. This is really a great neighborhood vibe. Chef Marques often comes out to talk with the customers and to make sure all is good. This means a lot - they care about the quality of food and they really show their appreciation for visiting them. The food: Delicious! Their Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos are amongst my favorites. You can get them a la carte. The tacos are filled with plenty of meat so with only a couple of them, you can get pretty full. Not to mention, if you get chips and salsa as well, you'll be stuffed. I also tried their Chicken Enchiladas and it was so good. The pulled chicken is super tender, the green sauce has a nice kick to it on the spice level. The dish comes with rice and beans. Both were great. I have the shrimp burrito. It was not on happy hour. They do them wet for and extra $7 I think it was worth it. It was huge and you do not need anything else. I took half of it home. Nikki got the chicken quesadilla. It was excellent and she took half of that home and I had some. The service was great and they had country western going on and 80s so the music was a bit better than it was last time. I still think they need to fix their TVs. Because they don't seem to be running normal stations. Someone did hit some sort of jackpot while we're there, but I didn't have any luck on the machines. But most of the time I don't and that's why I don't usually play. We will definitely be gone back to try some of the other food. read more

Like I've been holding back on this review hoping that it wasn't racist, but after tonight, I'm convinced this location doesn't like black people. When we first came in, Ms. Chocolate Chip served us and she was awesome! It was nice knowing that one of my favorite places based on the strip location was near. Fast forward to when the manager was serving the white customers during Memorial Day while I was playing and paying into operations. I had a whole message directed to the blonde lady that didn't serve me 3 beef tacos for 35 minutes. And now, 7/12, this guy, who doesn't have any hair and is short, completely ignored me along with another black couple that came in. It's 1:00a, I was playing on the machines and he ignored me and then when he came up to me, he told me there was no more deals on 50% off. Like dang, I was playing and you're just assuming. But not only that, waited hella long to come and speak to me but of course, hesitated to come talk to me. Too many occurrences of funny acting service. NOPE. I had such high hopes for this place but was left utterly disappointed. Came last night because the instagram account looked like they had good food and drinks and it's in the North, closer to me. Let's start at the beginning, walk in, the place is decorated nicely, the wall art pops, chandeliers look awesome. We sat and waited for a server to come...waiting.... waiting.... still waiting. It took close to 15 minutes before the waitress came to our table. Note, they were not crowded at all. This was after we told another employee that we wanted to place drink orders, she told us she would tell our server. The wait didn't start the experience off well. When the waitress finally made it to our table, we ordered drinks and food at the same time as we obviously had enough time to decide what we wanted. My sister and I ordered the Passion Fruit martini. It was nasty. We knew it as soon as it came to the table as it looked thick and syrupy. It was too sweet, I'm not even sure if there was any alcohol in it. To add insult, the glass was about 2/3 full. We even asked the waitress what happened to the rest of our drink. Friend ordered the blueberry sour, emphasis on sour. Drinks were not good at all. Such a let down as they look amazing in photos. There were two bartenders, man and woman, not sure who made what, but all the cocktails we ordered were just not good. Let's get to food. I ordered the posole, and esquite fries, sister ordered the quisibirria tacos, hubby ordered the mahi, carna asada, brisket, & carnitas tacos. Friend ordered the enchiladas and esquite. My husband said the mahi taco was very good and he enjoyed it the most, but the brisket didn't taste like brisket, and the carnitas & carna asada were average. My sister liked the quisibirria taco. I never received the posole and just told the waitress to cancel it. I most enjoyed the esquite fries with carnitas. Those were very good. The enchiladas tasted tart, maybe too much tomatillo in the sauce. Not sure if they could sense our frustration and displeasure, but the cook actually came to our table to check in with us. That was much appreciated. When we were ready to go, I asked the waitress for the check, I can't say I was surprised that our check was wrong. I told the waitress, she was quick to correct it. Overall, it was not a good experience and I don't think I want to go back. It was that bad. read more

When we walked in, we were expecting The Cantina authentic Mexican experience. Upon entering it looked nice, sitting down I notice many things which did not match the decor style. It was still cute though. Bartender / waitress / ( I think she was also the cook, not sure ) was there alone , bartending and waiting on tables. She made sure to let us know that she was a one woman show today, so could we please help her by grabbing our waters from bar. Not a problem! It's not her fault management failed her. She got it done. I wasn't sure about ordering the Mexican dishes, after seeing that it was a bit confusing in regards to having an authentic Mexican food experience. We started with the chips and salsa and a side of guacamole. It was delicious The chips had a taste that reminded me of my time in Mexico , with my grandma as a little girl ( happy times, nostalgic ) The burger w/ fries plate , well that's another story. The burger was so dry, I drowned it with ketchup and salsa. I don't ever add ketchup to my burger. The fry's were crispy and a bit burnt. Very disappointed, because I love my food. They are a little expensive for what they served. We ate it anyway and I did bring my leftovers home to pick at. We were going to get drinks but decided we didn't want to have to make our own. Both bathroom stalls had run out of toilet paper. Luckily the seat covers were stocked , because that's what I had to wipe with. Hopefully the owners will step up their game , because that was not it. It looks like it would end up closing if this is the norm. Hopefully it was just a bad weekend. If the food and service is good I never question the prices. If you are having a bad day , you should never relay that to your customers , and to think we should know or need to help is crazy. We've been coming here about three times a week because we love that it's seed-oil free food offered. we were genuinely excited about this place, But during our last visit, they handed me a scorching hot fajita skillet (with the wood underneath) right over the bar instead of placing it down on a bar buddy or any safe surface. When I mentioned it felt unsafe, the bartender just told me I should've known to grab it by the wood underneath. (More was said but want to keep that out of here) We're regulars and we really hoped for a bit more common sense in terms of safety and service. Everything exceeded our expectations and I'll dare say that the salsas are now my favorite and edged out any other Mexican eateries in the area. After ordering our food from our very pleasant waitress the chef came out and greeted us. From the moment of walking in there wasn't a friendly greeting. Our food took long and we were the only ones who ordered. The food was overcooked dry burger burnt fries. No refills were offered on drinks. When we asked for more water it still took a good 5 minutes and then we were asked to grab the glasses of water from bar since they only had one person working. The bathrooms were clean but there wasn't any toilet paper. The menu was limited and prices too high for a place as such. I definitely will not be returning. read more
