Food, atmosphere, and workers were great! But the only thing that threw me off was our server. He checked on our table maybe once and completely disregarded the fact that it was my girlfriend's birthday (after I told him it was her birthday and he said he would do something special like bring her out dessert and sing.. something of the sort) and he proceeded to ask us if we wanted dessert and when we said no he just left it alone (while I was waiting for him to bring out a treat for my girlfriend for her birthday, but it never came. On top of that, the other tables who had birthdays were being sang to, given desserts, and celebrated while we were ignored. Additionally, our server only asked us our appetizers and then our entrees and left to attend to his other tables. He didn't check on the table much and really wasn't attentive. He did not check on us to the point where another server had to pick up our appetizer tray after we had been finished it for twenty minutes. By this point, we were already feeling a bit frustrated. So by the time that the bill came, we were just ready to go. We payed with credit card so our server just gave us the little machine and did it at the table, but after I payed, there was an option to tip. The server had already pressed the tip amount for us and chose 20%. When I tried to change it he stood over me and was staring at the screen, making me feel obligated to keep it at 20%. I just feel like I've been stolen from. I was not planning on leaving a 20% tip because I just feel like he didn't deserve it. I always tip and I know how to tip, but I was only going to leave 15% because that's honestly how much he deserved. I think that he was thinking he wasn't going to get a good tip, so he took upon himself to select the 20% button. This experience really just threw me off and while the restaurant was great, I hope I have a different server next time. I'm not writing this review to degrade or leave a negative comment on the restaurant, just want to highlight my bad server experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the taco appetizer was phenomenal! I'd rate this place a 10/10! We will be returning... hopefully just with a different server. read more

If you love Peruvian food, you have to try this place! Great service, beautiful ambiance, and exceptional service. Went here on a Friday evening with my dinner club and we were throughly impressed. The food was so tasty and the drinks were even better. I've had many Pina Coladas in my day but theirs was by far the best I've had, so rich and creamy! We ordered so much food to share but my favorite dish was the Peruvian social, it was super fresh. Our waiter Eduardo was so nice and attentive to our group. We were originally seated outside but wanted to go inside due to allergies and he made it happen. Not only was he knowledgeable about the menu but he took the best pics of our group. This was such an amazing dinner find during my trip to NOLA! Came here with a few coworkers and everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered the salmon sashimi, and I loved the passion fruit sauce that it comes with. Super light and fresh, I wish it came with more salmon! I ordered the fettuccine huancaina and I loved it. Super flavorful and the sauce that it comes with is super creamy. Highly recommend the arroz con leche, it comes in a corn mold and I love that horchata taste with the cinnamon. Finally got to visit Social and was very pleased with the food, service and the aesthetic of the decor. We didn't have a reservation on a Friday evening and the host was so kind to seat us at an open table outside. The twinkle lighting and setup made for a really nice atmosphere, but I would've preferred an indoor seat because the temperature was dropping steadily. None of us ordered any drinks because we had a happy hour meet up prior to dinner, so we got straight to ordering appetizers. We had the appetizer tacos, ceviche and octopus to start. Went to Social on a Thursday night for a party of 2. We had a reservation and were seated immediately, which was great. As soon as you walk up, you really get the vibe of Social. The outdoor seating is super cute, and the inside is small but very well designed, from the bar to the chair choices to even the light fixtures. The ambiance really delivered. 5/5. I don't really remember the music because it was very loud inside with all the tables full, so it was a bit hard to hear conversations. Our server was excellent!! He was attentive, checked in just enough without overdoing it, and explained the menu really well. I'll start with the best plate of the night: the salmon sashimi. Everything about this dish was tasty! The passion fruit came through in the sauce, and the sliced jalapeño added just the right kick. I'd definitely recommend this dish. After that, honestly, everything else was pretty underwhelming and lacked flavor. The yuca fries were basically fried dough balls with mozzarella inside, flavorless, and the truffle was barely noticeable. I'd pass on these. The fried rice was fine, but it lacked salt or anything to really give it an "umph". The chicken was cooked perfectly, but again, it didn't have much flavor. Dessert was... interesting. The tres leches was more like a chocolate pudding than an actual cake, with a thin layer of strawberry something on top. It was explained as a cookie, but I'm not really sure that's what it was, though it did taste like strawberry. The other dessert was also just okay. There was a lot going on flavor-wise, and it didn't really work for me personally. I'd pass on dessert altogether. Overall: ~3.5/5, but really the food was a 3. I will say though, the plating of the dishes was very pretty and well done. I'm in no rush to go back. Maybe other dishes have more flavor, maybe not, but with so much incredible, flavor-packed food in New Orleans, this spot just didn't do it for us, especially at its high price point. read more

The decor is gorgeous with beautiful, comfortable chairs, outdoor seating, and large windows to gaze out of while enjoying dinner. The food and drinks were also equally as good. At the recommendation of my waiter, Deivis, I started with the yuca fries, which aren't shaped like fries at all. They are very delicious! The are shaped into balls with I think a mozzarella and yuca mix stuffed inside. I loved them!! I tried the pasta al pesto for dinner, and it was a panko battered, butterflied chicken breast on top of a bed of green noodles. DELICIOUS! The wait staff is also top notch here. My glass of water never stayed low, the waiter gave us excellent recommendations, and Deivis was super attentive! I can't wait to come back! I decided to pop into this new restaurant before heading the the Saenger Theater for a play. It's in the old location of Tito's on Magazine. This place is nicely decorated with outdoor seating as well. It's small and intimate. That being said, get a reservation. The waiter was amazing and the staff consistently asked if there was anything we needed. I even was asked before leaving if there was anything that they could improve. The hospitality was impressive. The service was excellent, and the team was attentive throughout the visit. That said, the menu was a bit challenging for someone with dietary restrictions. There weren't many options that worked for me, and I was disappointed that there wasn't a single green salad available. I had a hard time finding something I could eat and ultimately settled on two servings of bread, which were great, along with wings that I mostly ate around. The wings were a bit fatty and just okay. Firstly, $6 drinks DAILY Monday-Friday 11am-6pm...sign me up!! That's an amazing special, even for New Orleans. And these aren't just "drinks"..they're true craft cocktails so, s/o to Bartender Jhon for his artistry! I recommend the Pisco Sour and Margarita. I've dined-in for lunch with friends, and both wok-fried rice dishes I tried were super flavorful and a nice serving size. I can't wait to try more seafood dishes. The place is cute, on the smaller side, intimate but they did great managing the space. The host stand is outside and gives more space for inside dining. They had tables outside too but it was freezing this day in January. Our server was amazing, he was by himself and was getting a little busy but you could tell he was trying his best to keep up. Everything was amazing - we asked to keep the sauce from the salmon sashimi plate to dip everything in. Great spot for amazing food that is other than creole, soul, or boiled. We had the Wontacos , ceviche Social starters and split the Arroz Frito with filet mignon. Our table also had the Pulpo Anticuchero and Arroz Con Marisco. Plenty of food for four foodies; all of it delicious. Fresh seafood, potent herbs and citrusy/spicy sauces perfectly complemented one another in each dish. Filet was a little chewy, but nicely flavored. Over salted and just wasn't hitting the mark for Peruvian food or any acceptable variation thereof. The bartender was quite rude and wanted to interject with comments about her and her personal life that no one really cared about or wanted to hear. She also was slow and incompetent. Located on Magazine Street in New Orleans's uptown district, Social occupies the building that was Tito's a year or so ago. They still serve small plate Peruvian food and good cocktails. It could have still been Tito's but for the name change. Outdoor seating next to the building is pleasant. Servers were helpful despite their inexperience. I had high hopes for this place as the last restaurant that was in the same space was a Peruvian restaurant that was excellent that moved to Saint Charles. I love Peruvian food and we live nearby so I was hoping this would be a place we could keep coming back to. I came here on an early evening around five 530 with my family my two kids and my husband. We sat outside where we've sat before which is a nice atmosphere however, the service from start to the end was terrible. There were several weight staff sitting around when we arrived, and there was barely anyone in the restaurant. However, everyone was on their phones, barely doing anything we had to stand around for about 10 to 15 minutes until they could set one of the completely empty tables for us outside. We even had had a reservation. The waiter seemed to have very little knowledge about the menu and was not very helpful in recommending certain dishes that would be good for the kids. Granted, I understand that this is not necessarily one of them more kid, friendly restaurants, however, most restaurants in New Orleans are very happy to have children and my kids are usually able to find something on the menu they can eat. We ordered several different things from appetizers to entrées, including the classic ceviche. I have to say everything was very underwhelming. Nothing really stood out and absolutely nothing was something I would order again. My kids are pretty adventurous and eat a wide variety of foods however they still did not find any of the food that appetizing. The atmosphere was OK but felt very corporate and sterile. Definitely did not feel like a New Orleans restaurant and certainly I don't expect it to last more than a few months honestly. I feel bad saying this because I try to be a supportive of the local businesses in our area, but when a place so blatantly ignores the context in which they are situated and the clientele for which they serve, I have to be critical. This is a very family, friendly area and most New Orleanians expect a high-quality of food service and atmosphere, especially for the price that they charge.
