My first time here for the Super Bowl. I thought the crowd was electric and fun, the service is great. The bartender, Max (I'm bad with names) is awesome. He was attentive and has a heavy pour. The food was bomb, but it sucked they didn't announce last call on food and I was hangry. The kitchen closed right at halftime. The gender neutral restrooms was gross to me. There needs to be more attention on the cleanliness there or someone patrolling it. There was urine on the seats and floor. There were no toilet seat covers. I like the privacy of doors but that's it.

Omg! This is the best Japanese fusion bar that supports vegetarian and vegan options. The chef personally customised the recipes for me when I requested for vegetarian sushi. The crispy rice was exceptionally made with all the sauces on the side. I highly recommend this restaurant/bar!

So we had our date night at Society for their Christmas Pop Up Bar! It was soo cute & we had such a blast! The decor was everything.. I love Christmas, so it made my heart smile! The music was great.. they had a Dj/live Band there yesterday as well which was great! The drinks were delicious. I had the Santas Sugar Cookie Martini & I loved it. It came out super pretty & it is pretty sweet as well. We only got the lava cake as we had dinner elsewhere... but the lava cake was really moist, hot & soo delicious as well. I definitely recommend the pop up!!!

I'm giving this place three stars for a few reasons. 1. Parking is a challenge in this area. Very limited street parking. Good luck the other was the service. We waited forever to get waters, drinks, order our food, get our food. It didn't seem that busy so surprised for a Sunday it was so slooow. I had a lavender lemonade mocktail which was good and the strawberry salad with grilled chicken which was also pretty good. The interior and exterior are really cool with some nice art pieces and installations. Looks like it could be a fun night life spot to check out. So unfortunate the service was so bad because it was a pretty neat place.

Music was great! I really liked the atmosphere and the decorations. Although it was lowkey empty, there are 3 places you can hang out at with different vibes. There's an EDM room, the main hip hop room, and the bar outside.

Hard pass. I went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and neither of us had been before. I thought with the strict dress code and emphasis on making reservations that it would be this bustling high class establishment. It just isn't. It's this restaurant/bar/club in kc that is cosplaying as a New York City elite nightclub. It was half empty when we arrived at 7:30 and after coming from a cocktail bar (swordfish toms) the drinks were just so below average. They were fine but not worth the price. We ordered dinner and the risotto is not risotto - and the chicken sandwich seemed as if it had been previously frozen and then flash fried. Just not my expectation for the space. If you want to dance maybe this is the place for you? Come late and maybe you will have fun.

I would give this place a 7 out of 10, they are known for their night club, so I was a bit hesitant to eat there but they get the job done. I was there for the 50 years of hip hop brunch and it wasn't very busy. The hostess was very mean and stern and didn't make me feel welcome, but the waitress was very nice. She answered all my questions, had my food come out quick and checked on me often. Their brunch menu isn't very extensive, which I would assume since this place is known for their night club, food isn't something they focus on. They have a stuffed French toast or an original French toast and I decided to go with the original since I am lactose intolerant. Just the French toast alone was 8/9 dollars, I ended up adding sausage which was another $3 and seasoned potatoes which was the same. I also got one of the featured drinks on the themed menu that day for the "50 years of hip hop brunch" which was the Denzel Washington Espresso Martini I believe that drink was $15 so in total my brunch was $33, $40 with tip The food wasn't bad, but is a nice looking trendy place, great for instagramable moments. Make sure you go to the bathroom...that's where everyone takes pictures. But overall it wasn't amazing but it wasn't a bad brunch.

This place is awesome! I came back to back on weeknights last week. My first visit was just to check the spot out and try drinks and dessert with a friend. I was so impressed, I came back the next day with my husband to try the food! The ambiance is super cool here. Artsy, upscale décor, spacious, and good energy. It was pretty chill since it was during the week, but I hear weekends get pretty busy. The drinks are finely crafted and pretty tasty. The molten chocolate cake I tried for dessert is perfectly moist, rich, and not overwhelming to the palette. For dinner, we decided to start off with the Crossroads roll as an app. I ordered the Rotisserie Chicken and my husband got the Burger. The Crossroads roll was out of this world! Such a unique combination of flavors but a great tribute to sushi meets American fusion. By far our favorite thing we had. I enjoyed the chicken, but the sauce was a little overpowering - I'd probably order it on the side next time. It was served with mashed potatoes and veggies which were both delicious. Hubby said his burger was okay, but the truffle fries that came with it were stellar. I stole several and even ate them as leftovers the next day they were so good. Two entrees, an app, and 1 drink ran us ~$70 which did catch us a bit by surprise. Overall, my experiences were pretty solid and I'm glad this place has opened. I'll definitely be back either for cocktail hour or to try more food!

Since my post got deleted off of Google... Would give ZERO if I could. Came here to celebrate my friend finding her wedding dress the waitress was not great, very slow and not a very customer service type (coming from a former waitress) especially her response after our complaints on the steak, but the food was very disappointing. My friends ordered 2 Medium/medium rare ribeyes for 43$ and the manager came back arguing it was medium/medium rare. IT WAS RAW. He had TERRIBLE attitude and dismissed us. His name was Mike. Absolutely worst experience especially for the price. (Pictures of the steak)

We had a group of 9 come for happy hour. It's wasn't super busy and the service was so slow. Roxanne took 20 minutes to bring a round of drinks. The flatbread made it to the table before she carried our drinks over that had been sitting at the bar for 10 minutes. Then, we were charged auto 20% grat (we always tip 20-25% anyways) and your menu states that you do 18%. Disappointing service and feeling deceived on the gratuity will make us not choose to spend our time and money here again.

That changed yesterday, when Diana Condori, the bar manager, was named a 2026 James Beard Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service semifinalist. As we love supporting restaurants and bars that receive that kind of recognition, my wife and I headed to Fern Bar that evening. I was especially curious what exactly a "sugarcane and agave bar" meant. We arrived around 5:30pm and found only a handful of guests inside. After congratulating the bartender who first served us, he mentioned that Diana was working that night and would stop by to meet us. During our conversation, Diana shared that she didn't even know she had been nominated. She woke up Tuesday to a call from owner Bryan Arri, who said he had big news and was coming over. Her first thought was that something terrible had happened--like the bar had burned down. Instead, he showed up with coffee and told her she was a James Beard honoree. Diana is originally from Bolivia and has lived in Kansas City most of her life, with the exception of time spent in San Francisco during the pandemic. She further refined her cocktail craft through local pop-ups in Kansas City under the name Condor's Cove. When Bryan was preparing to open Fern Bar, he reached out to bring her onto the team. The printed cocktail menu immediately reminded me of the Monarch and the Mercury Room--not surprising given Bryan's background at Manifesto and the Monarch. Thoughtful, intentional, and clearly designed for people who appreciate serious cocktails. We planned on having one or two drinks but ended up staying for three, thanks to an outstanding lineup and a memorable conversation with Diana. We tasted: * No Fly Zone - Rum, agave, pineapple foam * Mr. Collage - Smooth, elegant, egg-white cocktail * Three Negroni Lunch - Bitter, boozy, and beautifully balanced * Pendergast No. 4 - Complex and spirit-driven * It's Bananas - Banana liqueur with bright tropical notes * Off the Rails - Creative and well-executed rum/agave cocktail One downside of many cocktail-forward bars is the lack of food, but Fern Bar offers two varieties of mini burritos for $4--just enough protein to keep things balanced while indulging. Great concept, exceptional service, and truly memorable drinks. Check it out--and be sure to say hello to Diana.

The space is smallish but they do have bar seating in addition to seating throughout. The service was friendly and the drinks were great. They don't offer food, but they do offer cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails. I went on a Sunday and they have a special menu called "Almost Monday." It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. My favorite between the two was the Negroni. It had a pretty color and wasn't too sour or strong. I'd def recommend it and get it again. Definitely stop in and check out this cute spot in Shawnee.

Also, they have some really fun drinks as well that have been thoughtfully put together. We ended up sitting at the bar and I started with the Reformed Porn Star (vanilla vodka, bronson's tropical milk punch, passion fruit, Prosecco, citric acid and popping boba) which was by far my favorite drink and felt like I could have drank a couple more of these. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us.
