Amazing experience! I am a teen who just got my second ear piercing, and I had Lys at my piercer. She walked me through every step and always told me what she was doing to my ear. I made an appointment to get one of my eyebrows re-pierced because it rejected out after an unfortunate scooter accident over the summer. When I arrived the piercer checked out my eyebrow and informed me that my eyebrow had not healed enough to get it re-pierced. They warned that piercing again too soon would likely lead to another rerejection. So great for them to do this and not just pierce me and take my money. Since I was already there the only obvious thing to do was to get my nostril pierced instead. Why waste the appointment? All the staff and piercers were wonderful and knowledgeable. They helped me to pick out the perfect nose stud (sparkly obviously!). The gal that did the piercing was great in explaining how the piercing was going to go and educating me about the aftercare and healing process. I'll go back in 6-8 weeks to get my nosnostril stud changed out to a shorter post. This should line up nicely to get the eyebrow re-pierced! It's fantastic to have such a great shop on this side of town. If you need anything piercings or just have questions, this is the place to go! Literally the most amazing piercing experience I have ever had. Billy is BEYOND amazing. Extremely accommodating and worked with me to find a way to do nipple piercings that work with my anatomy. I couldn't be happier with the result!! He took everything (including scarring from previous piercings which were done poorly by a different piercing shop) into consideration and was VERY deliberate and careful with his markings & placement. We had the absolute best experience at Soda Pop Piercing. I had promised My Daughter that we would get her nose pierced for her birthday, and as we were visiting Portland, I did a bit of research to find out which shop had the best ratings in terms of being clean, friendly, and good at what they do. Soda Pop did not disappoint. They were extremely professional and prompt, and they educated my daughter thoroughly on how to take care of her piercing. Most importantly, Billy (whom I believe to be the owner or manager) was particularly friendly and approachable, and he made us all feel safe. In addition, due to the nature of the business, I need to comment on how extremely clean and sterile that the entire environment was. Billy took great care with fresh packs of sterilized instruments. He even switched gloves every time he opened a drawer. Finally, I want to be sure to highlight the fact that my daughter was getting her nostril pierced, and Billy took several minutes and great care to study the actual anatomy and aesthetic of my daughter's nose and face to make sure that not only the piercing was visually in the perfect place, but also anatomically worked With the placement of cartilage inside her nose. This was my very first piercing and they took care of my jitters like family. The girls at the front counter showed me their jewelry and explained how it all works. Their pricing was AWESOME. One piercing or two ... SAME PRICE ... $50. I wanted a double piercing in one ear so that was a bargain deal for me. And their jewelry pricing was incredibly affordable. My professional piercer was SETH. He's a super mellow guy with a long history of experience and he did a perfect job of telling me what he was going to do as he was doing it and there was a pinch of a needle,. ok, ok of a freakin' spear ( ha ha not at all ). Can't say it was completely painless but it only hurt for 10-20 seconds or so and then by 10 mins, all the pain was gone. My word of advice ~~~~~ DON'T get sucked into the DIY Amazon home kits for $7.99. There are any number of things that could go wrong and the few bucks you save up front will never cover the medical costs if it all doesn't go as planned. Let a seasoned professional do it. Unless you give yourself your own tats of course. read more

Absolutely obsessed with this place! Originally went in to get my third holes repierced in my lobes. After taking a look at my ears, the team recommended that I don't repierce them. They gave me some great education around the cartilage in my ears, and why that wouldn't be a wise choice (they closed up the first time for a reason). So, we pivoted to a conch piercing and it's stunning. The space is so cute, and the crew is incredibly knowledgeable and fun. You do need to go in expecting to spend some money, but their jewelry is beautiful and honestly we wear this stuff daily so it should be quality. I plan on going back in to have some old cheap stuff taken out and swapped for better pieces. read more

Bottom line: this place is fantastic. Super friendly and welcoming staff, very clean and nice space, and overall a very positive experience. Lys was so creative in helping me find a solution to use old seconds holes that I thought had closed up. I was going to ask her to pierce them a little closer to my firsts and just abandon the old holes, but it turns out they were still open, and she suggested adding a third piercing in between my old first and seconds which had always been farther apart than I'd wanted. I'm SO happy with her creative solution and with the results, and I'm honestly shocked at how well my new piercings are healing so far. I've been wanting a new ear piercing for over two years now, but life has different plans for a while. I finally had the funds and some surprise time to myself and was able to have a walk-in appointment here at Soda Pop. They took over the old Blue Sky Bridal space and did a great job making it feel open, comfortable, and minimalist (in the best way). The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful (I'm terrible with names) I think her name was Kyra, introduced herself, offered her pro nouns and asked mine. It was so sweet and inspired me to do more of the same in my work, she helped me pick some cute jewelry. Alex was the one who actually performed the piercing, when the time came the jewelry I picked out ended up fitting differently than expected but they were able to improvise and make a super cute and uniquely-mine, little set perfect for my ear anatomy. At 75 y.o. it became clear tome there was something missing in my life .... I needed a piercing, HA. Ya know ... if not now, when ? So how to pick a piercing place ???? Internet showed me literally a dozen places but But BUT most of them were Tattoo parlors that may have a piercer once in a while. I knew from reading enough on the subject that I wanted a studio that ONLY did ONE thing, PIERCE ! That narrowed down my search and since SODA POP offers two piercings for the price of one AND only did one thing, PIERCE, I gave them a call and YES, they will do both piercings in either one or both ears, which is exactly what I wanted. A small close hoop with a stud SAPPHIRE, my birthstone, directly above it. After reading the resumes and bios of all the different professional piercers they employ, I chose Seth, and boy was I happy I did. The girls at the front counter showed me lots of jewelry, as well as answered the myriad of questions I came in with. I chose, the two pieces I wanted, which were exactly what I had in mind. Their prices were surprisingly VERY attractive, and I mean VERY ATTRACTIVE !!!!! Then Seth came out to greet me and off we went to his studio in the back of the store. As he was prepping my ear for the procedure, he told me in the most gentle way what was to happen and how to care for my ear piercings afterwards, along with when I could change jewelry and so on. I can definitely tell you THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO to get pierced whether, like me, it was your first or if its your fourth, they make it comfortable and affordable. I do not recommend. This place is an absolute nightmare. I walked in and everything looked good: it's a cute location and looks nice on the inside. It was my 18th birthday and I was getting my septum pierced and the place offered to take off my service fee prior to the appointment. My piercer began by giving a speech about how smooth the process would be and it was implied that she had lots of prior experience by the way she was speaking. However, another employee came inside the room right before the piercing to "watch." This certainly should have been a red flag. She pierced me and as she was putting in the jewelry, she realized that she couldn't put it in and needed help from the other employee. The second employee informed me that the first employee pierced it incorrectly and I would need to be pierced again. The original employee proceeded to ask the second employee to "teach" her how to fix the problem. Her lack of experience became increasingly evident. It made me feel very uncomfortable that she was asking to be taught how to do the piercing and that I was not told beforehand that she was inexperienced, as this is information that I would've wanted to be told beforehand. When it came time to pay, I was charged the service fee despite the error and despite being told that I was not going to be charged for it (for my birthday). Not to mention that the jewelry is definitely not the correct size. I picked the jewelry and the piercer chose the size based on my nose. However, a few hours later, the piercing looks too small and feels tight on my nose. The only good part of this experience was the 4 HiChews I was given when everything went wrong.
