I contacted Rosewater tattoo after receiving a recommendation from a friend of mine. They were so dismissive of what I wanted done which was something simple and small. Not only did they say no, here is how they responded via email when I asked if they'd be available for a small piece with a quote and some floral art: Sorry but that isn't something I'm interested in tattooing! Cheers Didn't even recommend someone as an alternate option. Upon asking for a recommendation of someone else either in the shop or who she knows personally who could do a simple design, here was Brittny's response: No, artists I know personally are interested in tattooing their own original art, not just quotes or scripts... You can try a general walk-in shop that has availability for something like that. So in case you're just a normal person trying to get a normal tattoo you probably shouldn't contact them. read more

I've been going to see Cricket for years and have loved it every time. It's been with great pride that I've been able to send my little sister to Cricket for her first tattoo and it came out beautifully! She's amazing with both line and color work, and works so quickly that she surprises me every time. Update- I have since been refunded my $50 after making my review explaining what happened to me and was told to "Let it go and move on, dude." By Cricket. I did try and get this resolved prior to posting and never was rude or nasty. Cricket failed to show to an appointment. After I spent money on a covid test, gas (live 40 mins away) and daycare (single mom 2 kiddos). She accidentally emailed the wrong person telling them she couldn't make it. She had another email mixup prior to this with me .. on top of that this was our second rescheduled appointment due to her failing to block out a day. I didn't want to reschedule because I couldn't risk another mix up .. I couldn't pay for gas, daycare and another covid test for another failed appointment .. anyways she originally kept half of my $100 deposit even though she couldn't show me the drawing outline of my tattoo. She said she kept half ($50) for the drawing fee. Anyways Just make appointment with caution. Single mom.. may not seem like much but for me the cost for test, gas and daycare added up. All I wanted was to treat myself with a nice tattoo. Besides that Lynn's cool. She did a Ram on my arm. I recommend her read more

I absolutely love this shop. I heard about it though a friend. We both see Seven for our tattoos. Seven is an absolute delight. She makes the experience feel very comfortable and easy. Whether you want to sit and chat with her while you sit or just put your earbuds in and tune everything out, she's down! She is so accommodating and compassionate. I had the privilege of working with Lynn, proprietor and boss lady extraordinaire at Rosewater. Before I gush about Lynn's superb work, I want to talk about what a great place Rosewater is. It has a great vibe, great energy, and doesn't overly concern itself with adhering to a specific aesthetic. Sometimes getting a tattoo is about artwork, not about how "hardcore" you are because you can take the pain. The shop is clean, organized, and well decorated. It's well lit, and full of friendly and talented people. You can see from her diligence in helping to clean and organize the place herself, that Lynn doesn't consider herself above busy work, and she takes personal pride in the environment she creates there for artist and client alike. I arrived early, and Lynn was already there, and very prepared. She had great ideas and made me feel like I was in the hands of a professional, not a moody self involved "artist". She responded to e-mails promptly, and took my concerns seriously. And when she said she understood the look I was going for, she wasn't kidding. I got a huge ship and octopus on my thigh, and she nailed it. I've been so excited to finish it ever since I saw the design. Lynn was especially adept at manipulating the design to fit the space, and obviously has a keen eye for body geometry. Lynn and Rosewater have created a very cathartic space to express myself. She reads and meets my energy to simply enjoy the process and breathe through it, and is conscious to check in at certain thresholds, making it a safe communication space. I had first reached out to her by recommendation of a dear friend she had done a full Phoenix sleeve for. I had imagined a peony flower piece for myself and as fate would have it I was able to get in the next day, through a last minute cancellation opening. Lynn asked if I wanted to come in for a consultation and I said no, let's go. So we did. She sketched out the most lovely piece based upon my vision and measurements. And the way she fitted it to my body, muscle definition... and her LINES...I gasped and new light was brought to my eyes when I stood up and admired myself in the mirror. I went back for two more sessions to fill in and complete my half sleeve, and a third session for a new addition with a hummingbird to look over my shoulder. I look forward to our next session. After extensive research for a Portland tattoo artists, I booked and scheduled to have Lynn finish my Disney sleeve on my right arm. I had another artists start it and the top forearm is done. She agree'd to do so, but ultimately informed me, after much effort on her part to design something with my specifications and particulars, as well as working around the other artists work. Sadly, she contacted me and sincerely apologized that she didn't feel comfortable doing so. I fully understood where she was coming from and appreciated her forwardness. To me, this was a sign that she did not want to do something she felt she could not do proudly and wanted me to be happy with the results. Without hesitation, I asked her if she would be interested in doing a large chest piece instead. With excitement and a little bit of surprise by my question, she exclaimed that she would love to! Yesterday was my last session for a full chest piece ad it is now complete! Not only am I ecstatic about the outcome of the totality of the piece, I am 100% going to have more work done by her. She is not only an extremely talented artist, but she is also a genuinely kind person with top-notch professionalism. I highly-recommend that if you want some solid tattoo work done that you will appreciate for the rest of your life, make an appointment with Lynn at Rosewater, or at the least, go in and check out the variety of talented artists that work at her shop. I was immediately impressed with a few items seen on Instagram done by Ian Rust. I wanted to get a prayer so it would require really precise line work. Ian did not disappoint! His work was AMAZING!
