Best Gyros ever! Seriously! A little hidden gem. Whenever I am visiting Clearwater I try to pop in.

We ordered take-out for my office last week since Sofia's is nearby, and we all could decide on Greek food that day. In fact, each of us chose the gyro pita and added the Greek salad as a side. And because I love spanakopita, I ordered that as well. My salad was large and very fresh, with lots of tasty feta. On top was a large scoop of incredibly delicious potato salad. I was later delighted to see the potato salad is available separately also. This Greek salad was nearly filling on its own! And my gyro pita was very large, too - too big for me to finish! The lamb was plentiful and had a fantastic flavor... not spicy, yet very flavorful. Unfortunately, the tzatziki sauce had zero flavor. But the lamb was so good that I didn't mind. I finished my meal with the spinach pie - it was absolutely amazing. The pie was actually two large pieces of crispy, flaky pastry, stuffed with A LOT of spinach & feta. For me, it was definitely a dessert! And again, too much to finish in one sitting. They also have a baklava I'd like to try, as well as other fresh desserts that aren't on the menu (according to my co-worker who picked up our meals). We will definitely return to Sofia's, and not only because its so close to my office. Our meals were very reasonably priced, and very quickly prepared. read more

We ordered from Grubhub. I had a gyro that was delicious. The salads were good. The fried cheese was delicious! The dolmades were served refrigerated.... Ice cold! My husband wasn't happy with that so he's not wanting to try them again. Luckily everything else was good so hopefully he will give them another shot. read more

We LOVE Sophia's!! The best place around for Greek! Family owned and Sophia knows me by my order EVERY time. Small restaurant with a handful of tables a few on the outdoor patio as well. Authentic Greek food!! Today we ordered a Greek Salad and added Gyro meat (no potato salad for me and light feta). She gets it right as always!!! We also ordered 2 gyros with all the fixings. Delicious!!!! We finished off the meal with 2 slices of baklava. Amazing!!!!! Thank you Sophia for the best Greek I've ever had right around the corner from home. We love being regulars. read more

Love this place. I must admit i don't order from here often, basically because i don't eat Greek food that often. But, when i do, i am always happy. The food is so fresh. And i mean fresh. The falafel is delicious, the ingredients in the pita plentiful and again, fresh. Plenty of sauce on the pita. Salad was delicious and again fresh. The reason i am being repetitive is because, so many times the greens aren't as crispy with no browning. What can i say, it's the only Greek place i would get take out from. Stopped by this spot on a whim. A small joint, but that has rarely meant a bad thing. And it does not mean a bad thing at Sofia's. I ordered a village salad and gyro. In all of about 5 minutes I was served and digging in. The salad was as fresh as could be, and the gyro hitting that Mediterranean craving I didn't realize I had until I bit into it. read more

My wife is part Greek and I spent a lot of time in Greece which means we can be pretty picky. Saw some good reviews, and since we live close, we had to try it. Ordered a Gyro and something that wasn't on the menu but we both love, which is a traditional Moussaka. The Gyro was amazing! Finally, a place that gives you plenty of meat! And good meat! (Insert 5 jokes here). It was very flavorful. One of the best Gyro's I've had. The Moussaka was also very good (posted photo), though lacked a bit of seasoning, making it a little blend (just being VERY picky here) but it was awesome! I appreciated that they put the tomato sauce on the side. If there is any downside is due to the rice. It was strangely spicy. Why? Rice should not be spicy. Locked down for COVID so my birthday dinner was choice of carry out. One of my favorite foods is Greek food. We have never tried Sophia's it's not on the beach area of Clearwater where we are. We decided to try it. Had very good reviews. It's kinda like a cafe deli style place. So glad we tried it. Food was delicious. Four of us had the chicks skewers dinner. Came with 3 skewers very generous- lots of delicious rice- pita and choice of salad or soup. I had salad tasty and good dressing. Rice and chicken were well seasoned- I wasn't happy that we didn't get taziki sauce with it. My son got the gyro plate and his came with tzatziki. The food was fresh and ready quickly. Pita was warm and very good we ate the leftovers the next day. Really no complaints accept where was the extra sauce for chicken plates. read more

This review is kinda hard for me so I'll just say the pros and cons. Cool? Ok here it goes Pros: The quality of the food is right on. The Greek salad was amazing and had a little surprise of some amazingly delicious hummus. Also I was really surprised at the amazing taste of their pitas that came with the salad. It tasted homemade as well as the hummus surprise on salad. The dressing also tasted amazing and home made. The fried feta was prepared perfectly and came with a tasty marinara sauce for dipping. So I did not like the fried feta it confused my taste buds as I think it would be amazing desert if that makes sense? I would love blue Barry's on it or something so try it it was just my thing but obviously a great dish. Cons: not to many! I would say wow the price is high as I got a salad and fried cheese and it was 16 bucks! Yikes read more

We recently discovered Sofia's, but sure wish we had tried it sooner! Their Horiatiki village salad is a feast for the eyes and palate - big pieces of beautiful, fresh vegetables, delicious olives, and large chunks of feta cheese. Loved it! The chicken Caesar wrap is delectable and not to be missed. We split the wrap and salad, and still had food left over. But did I tell you about the pastistio? Ground meat, nicely spiced, with noodles and a melt in your mouth bechamel custard on top. Yummy with a capital Y! We have spent time in Greece and love Greek food, and think this is the best Greek food we have eaten outside of Greece. Opa! read more

I went after a long day of work one night and I wanted to try it. This was delicious and tasted authentic (although I am not Greek so do not trust my knowledge on the cuisine lol). Wow we had such a nice experience here. We were greeted by the nicest woman. She just looked like she should be making Greek food - like in a good way. I think that had to be Sofia herself. We felt so welcome. I had one of their specials - a eggplant rollitini - and Dom had a gyro. It was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted really fresh. We are so impressed. Sophia's is a delicious Greek restaurant that has a lot of food options. We tried the Greek salad, spinach pie, chicken Slovakia and all of it was delicious. Sophia served us and was wonderful. Definitely will return it was fantastic and great value! read more

First visit was a 5 star for me. The chicken souvlaki was moist and flavorful. The tzatziki was on point, and they even sprinkled a bit of feta crumbles on top. I didn't bite into any fatty pieces of chicken which completely turns me off(thank god for that), and is the reason why I usually will always order a Gyro over chicken any day. I ate every bite of this, and it was really good. Take my advice and do not take your Chicken Souvlaki or Gyro out of the wrapping. I made this mistake because I wanted to share some tzatziki with mom, and couldn't get it together after that. I was, and it was... a mess ! Still great, it just got very sloppy from all the goodness. The owner was a very sweet lady, they play Greek Music while you eat , and they serve beer & wine. They also have Pepsi Products with some other random drinks they store in a fridge. Also, there's a small selection of Greek desserts. It is a small place(about 14 seats, nothing fancy. The gyros here are huge and tasty. The gyro meat is not dry like some places can be, it's shaved thin and piled high with plenty of Tzatziki sauce that you can tell is made fresh every day. Highly recommend this place!!! read more

If you are looking for authentic and delicious Greek food, you've found it! Sofia and the entire staff are wonderful and welcoming. They make you feel like you are at home. Everything is fresh and the portions are huge. We decided to try a little of everything. According to my friend, the stuffed grape leaves are the best in town. The appetizer special of the day was fried feta. All I can say is yum! I had the gyro platter that comes with soup or salad, gyro meat and rice. The side salad looked like a regular sized salad. The potato salad was very tasty. There was so much gyro meat, enough for a second meal. We also had the baklava and it was so yummy. I only took a couple of bites since I was so full from all the food we ordered, but it was just the right amount of sweetness and flakiness. Food was good, but overpriced. Greek salad had only one black Olive. That is,cheap and a major sin!!!! Service is sub par. They got my dessert order wrong, I realized after I got home, no silverware either. I was eating g at home so not major deal, but if was eating out this,would have,been a pain. Small spot in a low-key strip mall, perfect for a quick meal or takeout. Family owned and all of the staff are friendly. Great portions for the price, as most mom-n-pop places are. I've only ordered the gyro here (pita and plate) on the 2 occasions I've been and can't wait to try the rest of their menu. The gyro pita was filling and had the perfect ratio of onions, tomatoes and lettuce on it though I wish they'd added a bit more of that delicious tzatziki sauce. Opted for the plate second time I went and had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. The plate comes with rice, pita bread, and a delicious salad (including potato salad on top) that could've been a small lunch on its own. They also throw in a side of the tzatziki sauce with it.
