Tried this place recently for the first time and it was amazing. Their food is fresh, delicious and they serve generous portions!

I ordered takeout on seamless last night. One of the dishes ordered was on the special list, Shrimp Monacini. It took about an hour for delivery. When I tried the dish it was chicken and not shrimp. I don't eat chicken. I looked up the number and called the place but got a busy signal. I called the delivery guy and he said to keep trying and that I would be put on hold for a few. I tried calling again and finally got through. A girl answered and I explained my order and that I received something else instead. She said she had to get her boss. He came on the line and said it was shrimp. I told him that I had taken it apart and it was definitely chicken. He put me on hold. Came back and said the kitchen confirmed it was shrimp. I said I wouldn't call you if it was shrimp. He said he would have to see the plate to confirm. I said that's fine. He then said he was going to send the delivery guy to pick it up inspect it and then make a new one if it was indeed chicken. I said that sounds like a long drawn out process. Can you please send a new dish that has shrimp and pick up the chicken dish? He says no because it's an expensive $16 dish. I said imagine how I feel. Now you are ruining my dinner because everyone else is eating and you are telling me I have to wait 2 hours to receive the correct dish. He then tells me he will send a new one and is going to call seamless and charge me again. I couldn't believe the audacity this man had to treat his customers. I said never mind, I dont need the headache or a 2nd dish filled with poison. I told him that this was not the way to treat a customer and he said to see it from his perspective and shrimp is expensive. I'm at a loss but at least I know how this place runs it's business and won't be ordering or eating here again! read more

OMG! Where should I start? I use to frequent this place for years, it use to be acceptable, to spite the doucebaggery and sexual harassment you would have to deal with just to get a slice of pizza. There food was good. Until one faithful night, my boyfriend wasn't feeling well, so we decided to order in, instead of making dinner, we placed our order at 7 pm... and 8pm ... we still were waiting... and 9 pm we called, and they assured us it was out for delivery.... LIES!!! 10pm came about... and no food... we called again... they said no they must have delivered it... but we didn't get shit! 11pm... rolls around ... still nothing... 11:40 ticks on by before we actually got food. And they demanded we pay for it!!! Nearly 4 hours for pizza... it was nothing that the had to even cook... it was just a couple slices of pizza... that they just had to re-heat! 4 hours!!!! I could have made pizza from scratch in that time! After years of putting up with them... this was it!!! You may be wondering why we actually waited so long, I have no idea why... needless to say... I have and will never order from them or have anything to do with them every again. She should close down forever if it was up to me!!! I will hang myself if I ever have to go back there! The skeeveyness of the workers there.... I would not trust them with anything like credit card etc, I im getting sexually harrassed... keep your kids away for their own good! read more

This is my absolute favorite Italian takeout spot. The pizza is not bad, but you can't go wrong with any of the salads and pasta dishes. Also, their rice ball with sauce & cheese (or without) is the best around. The staff, including the delivery people, is super friendly as they treat everyone like a regular customer. read more

The food here is good but the service is absolutely terrible, one time I went inside an placed an order an it literally took over 45 minutes for me to get my food which was ribs and a wrap. An I went here at 11:30 am by the time I got my food the lunch crowd from noon already ate an left while I twiddled my thumbs. It gets a 5 from me because my family has ordered their Sunday special for something like close to a decade - probably less but it feel like that long. As long they keep their Sunday special we will order every single Sunday. Their pizza is more filling and delish than other pizza out there. On the phone, the ordering is very efficient. I've only had delivery; never set foot in this place once but ,y parents have and they always comment on how authentic everything is at Sofia's.. Have had pizza, chicken rolls, calzones, garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, and wraps over the years but usually just pizza. All solidly good food. Occasionally have had the delivery issue - where it takes like over an hour. Other times it takes less than 10 minutes. Most often, it arrives within a decent amount of time. Great food and an excellent value. We ordered online from JFK and our food was ready shortly after arrival. The penne vodka with chicken was huge, very tasty and came with bread. The veal cutlet hero was also huge and my husband loved it. If we are ever in the area again, it was very convenient to JFK and open late on a weekday. read more

My first experience eating authentic New York slices was a GREAT experience! Best pizzeria in south ozone park. Nobody comes close. Pizza is good.. they have the best grilled chicken I have ever had. The rice balls are good. Philly cheesesteaks are good. The burgers are good. Every thing here is good only complaint I have is the chicken and shrimp ceaser salads use to be give plenty of chicken and shrimp but for some reason they are stingy with that but it still gets 5 stars. I just got my order it was cold and had the wrong toppings. The lady on the phone was rude. I told her my pizza was cold she kept telling me have a good night goodbye. This place is horrible!!!! I placed an order for delivery first off it took forever to arrive secondly, the deliver man walked away with my change and when I called him back he just kept walking off. Third of all my order was all wrong!!! I ordered two chicken cutlets and asked for cheese there was no cheese on my heroes plus the bread was so hard. The fries where so cold and lastly when I called back to tell the guy who handles the phone orders he said "you didn't place the order" it doesn't matter if my boyfriend or I ordered it the order was wrong the food bland and disappointing. Love it! I 've been there 3 times, each time I've been to the Queens area. They TRULY treat you like family. The chicken caesar salad pizza (yes it is as it sounds) is amazing. The Penne is fabulous. Although I ask them to add some chili flakes to the sauce. Another favorite is the Garlic Clams! This is just an all around decent place. You know it's wholesome when you see at least 4-5 cops there each night ordering food to go. Good people, the new location and décor has that real Italian cuccina feel. Grew up going to Sofia's. They recently renovated and the place looks a bit nicer while still having that pizzeria feel which I am glad about. The staff is always quick and friendly. Their regular slice is nothing special... But their special slices are AMAZING.... Any one of them is like a meal on a single slice of pizza. Highly reccomend to anyone in the area. read more

A bite of banality...but at least the manager gave a refund on the inedible mozz sticks. Details.... hotel suggested this place....took an hour to get here... mozzarella sticks that the yutzes on this site raved about are about as yummy as the lawn stakes I use to let the snow plow service know where concrete ends and grass begins. Simply inedible. The pizza is cold but at least passable. At least they understand that a chicken pizza needs chicken. Manager was a bit of a hothead when I complained. This past Sunday I decided to order some pies from Sofia's.. To be a specific, a regular & a sofia special. A month earlier I made a similar order & both pies were awesome. Unfortunately, this time around I got the worst cheese pizza ever. Got it extremely cold, & very old looking as the cheese layer looked darker than it is when it's fresh. Super disappointing, & I couldn't complain because I took them to a friends get together that was not nearby. Great sausage rolls and the veal rollatini was awesome! Some of the best Pasta e Fagioli I've had since my Grandma passed! Nice delivery agents and they deliver to JFK hotels! If you're going to order the pizza it's good. We had a whole cheese pizza and it was really delicious. I had decided to order eggplant Parmesan and spaghetti as well. The eggplant just didn't taste well seasoned and the texture was a little weird. The spaghetti was too cheesy for my taste and I ended up not enjoying it as much. The garlic knots were hot and fresh yummy though. I might try something else from here but the cheese pizza is definitely delicious. read more

I have been getting food from Sofia's for a long time and I always enjoy my meal.
