    Mediterranean Salad

Their Mediterranean salad is wonderful! They use the best olive oil. We love the falafel too! Nice to sit outside.

Was looking for a healthier and heartier dinner in the area before my triathlon race in the morning. Mediterranean food is one of my faves and that's how I found Sofra. Wasn't busy when I went on a Saturday evening, which was nice as I'm not into crowded places. Service was good, server was attentive and quick. I ordered the gyro platter and it was good. The gyro was too greasy for me and although the menu said it comes with soup and salad, no soup for me lol Overall it was good and what I was looking for. Would recommend

We will be back to Sofra! What a treat to have such fresh homemade food and in generous quantities. I had the Greek salad with a skewer of grilled chicken. My friend had the falafel sandwich with a salad. Everything was so tasty! The waiter brought us a dish of humus and tzatziki with bread on the house. It really could not have been better. The place had a pleasant ambiance and friendly and cute waiter. Perfect!

This restaurant offers the best Mediterranean food, along with a pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. Highly recommend it!

I was visiting friends, and since her family is pretty big, this has become their go-to restaurant. She mentioned that the staff never hesitates when a large party walks in and always accommodates everyone without making it feel like an inconvenience. The dining room is one large, open space with tables throughout, creating a lively atmosphere. I absolutely loved it. It was filled with people enjoying incredible food, and you could tell this place was a local favorite. Of course, I had to start with one of their Greek beers, served in a traditional beer mug, which was the perfect way to kick off the meal. We also ordered the tzatziki and hummus sampler, and I'm so glad we did. The flavors were unbelievable, and they were incredibly generous with the warm pita bread. Honestly, I ate so much of the sampler that by the time it came to order my entrée, all I could manage was a piece of grilled chicken. Even then, I found myself dipping the chicken into the hummus and tzatziki because they were just that good. I left completely full, happy, and even had leftovers to take home. The staff was fantastic--everyone worked together seamlessly, helping one another and making sure every table was taken care of. It created such a welcoming atmosphere. After eating here, it's easy to understand why this restaurant has so many outstanding reviews. The food, service, and overall experience absolutely live up to the hype.

I got the Greek salad which is a staple there, the fresh vegetables and the cheese is the right amount of bite. I would have ordered two salads because you really want your own. We had the warm pita bread with the taziki, the best part of the meal, this is freshly made and trust me, you taste the garlic in every bite. It's so fresh and homemade. The spanakopita is ok, I get it every once in a while but it's not my favorite. They make a lot of good dishes. I highly recommend this place.

It was founded by owner Christos "Chris" Charoudis, the restaurant's menu is largely inspired by traditional family recipes. Chris's mother, Eleni, personally quality-controlled the dishes to ensure authenticity. This is the original restaurant, at the corner of Lantana Rd. & Jog, a second is on Congress, They have expanded & during covid outdoor dining in the parking lot was created. There is a free parking in front along with a steady stream of pick up traffic. The menu offers extensive Greek dishes with servers being very quick & efficient. Portions at Chris' Taverna are enormous. One plate is enough for more than enough for 2 of us to share. The restaurant is casual, reservations are not accepted, it's first come & first serve. Tonight six of us met here for dinner. We arrived before 6:00 and waited only a few minutes for a table. When we left there was a line outside. When we were seated we were given water & a garlic spread with warm fresh pita. We all shared babaganosh & generous delicious dips. My husband & I shared a gyro salad with lots of grilled lamb, more than enough for us both. Others enjoyed greek chicken salad, shrimp with pasta, and spanakopita. Everyone brought leftovers home, enough for a few meals. Happily we weren't rushed.

As a Greek (and former chef), I was genuinely excited after about ten people insisted this was "the spot" when I moved to Delray Beach. So naturally, I came in expecting something remotely...Greek. Quick reality check for fellow reviewers: 1.Have you ever actually been to Greece? Not the airport. Not a cruise stop. I mean eaten real Greek food. 2.Do we all agree on what goes into a Greek salad and a proper gyro, or are we just improvising at this point? Because what I saw felt more like a creative writing exercise than a recipe. 3.If your rating is based on portion size, then yes, congratulations, you got a lot of food. But let's not confuse quantity with authenticity (or quality). That's how we end up with 4.6 stars. I won't even get into presentation, because that would require there being something recognizable to present. This place would have been closed in a week in NYC! If this is your introduction to Greek food, I apologize on behalf of an entire country.

The salads had tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, onions, pepperoncinis, and romaine lettuce topped with feta cheese and dressing. There was also a small rice stuffed grape leaf -- cut in half. The salad could have been a meal in itself. The moussaka was layered egg plant and potatoes with a ground beef filling topped with cinnamon béchamel sauce. The pasticchio is the Greek version of lasagna but with elbow macaroni. Both portions were quite filling. I ate my dish and he brought half of his home. He was saving room for dessert. For dessert, he had galaktoboureko which is a custard filled pastry topped with simple syrup. He said it was good, but it would have been better if warmed. Or at least if the syrup was warm. The space was clean with plenty of seating, and the staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. They gave me time to browse the menu without any rush, and were ready to take my order the moment I decided. I went with the Falafel and Eggplant Pita Wrap, ordered exactly as it comes -- five crispy handmade falafels, roasted eggplant, hummus, tomato and cucumber salad, purple cabbage slaw, white onions, tomatoes, pickles, and lemon tahini sauce. What I loved about the presentation was how they sliced the pita and stuffed the toppings inside the pocket, then placed the eggplant and falafel on the outside before wrapping everything up tightly. It made for a much easier, cleaner eat -- no toppings tumbling out with every bite! My first bite was amazing. The fresh flavors really shined, the falafels were perfectly crispy, and the eggplant had that deep, savory roasted flavor. Every topping complemented the others beautifully, and I walked away completely satisfied. I am so happy I found this fast and healthy option close by! I also grabbed a baklava and a mango sparkling probiotic drink -- both delicious. Beyond the food, they have soft drinks, tea, and lemonade, plus a sauce bar with vinegar and oil if you want to customize your meal even further. Overall, an excellent experience from start to finish. I can't wait to come back and try their other menu options!

Seated immediately for our reservation, our waiter promptly greeted us & took Beverage requests. Started with a Hendricks Martini ($21) and bottle of sparkling water (unfortunately it's was domestic Mountain Valley & not Pellegrino) and surprisingly priced at $12. As we waited for drinks, we perused the menu. What caught my eye was the many great salads & different from the norm entrees. I started with the Leek Soup ($18) which was outstanding. Flavorful & Vibrant. Next we tried the Green Salad, ($23) perfectly named as it had many kinds of lettuce only. It was incredibly Fresh & served with a light vinaigrette. A large portion. I loved it. Others ordered the Beets & Goat cheese salad ($25) which was delicious as well. Our entrees were: A whole Branzino ($49 and plenty for 2 to share) which was beautifully roasted and served filleted with tail on. A large portion of perfectly sliced & cooked lamb chops ($52) Really good. We also had a side of local roasted baby carrots ($19) with greens still on. Pricey, but maybe the best tasting carrots I've ever had. We finished with one dessert recommendation from our waiter. Sticky Toffee pudding ($16) which was a soft moist tasty Bundt cake with a too small scoop of homemade pistachio ice cream. Good but not up to the standard of the other items we had this evening. Service: we had a perfect experience from our waiter & waitstaff. Incredibly professional and around when needed. Overall the food is really good and justifies the higher prices which in South Florida isn't usually the case. Upon leaving I told the owner/GM that this was the best restaurant I have eaten in 2026! Don't wait until you hear about it getting a Michelin star and go now. You heard it from this Foodie. Just know that on Saturdays the well healed crowd is lively & the noise level is spirited.

We chose to sit inside as our friends suggested the main outdoor area can get very loud, making conversation difficult. Service was spotty, I had to ask for a glass of ice 3 times and he disappeared towards the end of the meal, as he got busy attending tables outside. It is a small menu with limited options. We started with the mussels and Mediterranean dip. It was very nice but served with a cold whole pita which everyone needs to touch and tear apart. I ordered the steak and frites ( substituting a salad over frites) which was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Hubs and another had the flat iron chicken which was very moist, but charred which is not only carcinogenic but bitter in taste which I did not enjoy and would not have eaten. Our friend had the lamb chops which she ordered medium but they came rare but tasted good. We ordered the soufflé and affogato for dessert. The young lady drops off the small dish of vanilla ice cream with the soufflé but no espresso. The soufflé was cold and undercooked. It took awhile for our server to return, and he brought out the espresso which might have sat outside the whole time as it wasn't even hot...our waiter never returned, so we still ate it but it wasn't as good.. A few notes which took away from our experience was the service, cold/undercooked dishes, and the chicken entree lacking as they serve fries but no veggies unless you order carrots or cauliflower at $20? They also charged $12 for water. Not the best experience.
