If you've never had Balkan food, try it. It's like Turkish/Middle Eastern/Greek all mixed into one. This place is family run and the owner is a great guy. Their Bosnian (Turkish) coffee is a great item that comes in the traditional setup. From the Burek, to the Cevapi, it's all very good. Even the pizza hits hard, but don't go looking for normal pork toppings. This restaurant is Halal also, so it's pretty safe for most to enjoy. read more

Went here for Sunday lunch and seating inside was decorated casually nice. The service was very friendly. My kids enjoyed sitting with the colorful pillows and they both liked the pizza combo and lots of drink choices. I've never had Bosnian food and was with a friend who was down to try Balkan food so we ordered the burek and cevapi. The burek was just ok but the cevapi was a home run. The meat was well marinated and spiced and the bread it's served with is light, airy and fluffy. The cevapi are like a kebab/sausage. Okay, AAA Magazine gave it top billing in it's latest Westways Magazine issue, but still it's hidden in a set back strip Mall with a small sign that says Pizza Grill and a microscopic sign announcing you've arrived at Sofra Urbana. Locating Sofra Urbana will require at least 4 drive bys, which looks like your'e casing the joint, but be patient because you will find it. Follow your nose. Inside it's a spotless little jewel box, with an Order Counter, a QR Cube menu, and an over head light board menu that is only visible through the Hubble Telescope. There are 5 small tables and a few more tables set up outside close to the exhaust fumes of cars cruising by trying to find what you found. A loop plays Bosnia's top 4 hits. Maybe it reminds the ex-pats of home. Bosnia. Who knows anything about Bosnia other than it was mixed up in the aftermath of Yugoslavia and Tito shuttering leaving the Balkins to go Batshit. Never mind, what was left after the smoke cleared, were a proud, if battered people, unexploded land mines, a lovely rich traditional culture and great food which you will find here. I thought Bosnian food consisted of MRE's and WW2 surplus K-Rations. Nope, all Halah meats, Halalujah! The cuisine as presented at Sofra Urbana is authentic, satisfying, and not just hot soup for a cold snap. Here, there is a variety of house made Bosnian dishes all made to order. Who's here? Ex-pats, both of them, a gaggle of feral children bouncing around the room as their Momma texts and a friendly gang of Kitchen pepper preppers, and cooks in nooks, turning out great food that is not just a novelty night out. Br, Ne. The Food: The Shopska (Greek) Salad was just picked fresh and certainly no cooler clean out. The Salad was crisp, balanced and as well dressed as a Shipping Magnate. Cucs, Tomatoes, Red Onions Slivers, Roasted Red Peppers Slices, Feta Cheese and one tiny little Green Olive. It was healthy and tasty. On the other end of the spectrum I couldn't say no to some Chevapi. (10 little Balkin Beef Sausages which were delicious). Not to spicy yet not timid either, they were packed into a Somun/Lepinje which sounds like something you get from wearing wet shoes for weeks. It is actually a pillowy Pita with an airy crumb that comes with a cup of soft Feta and one of Ajvar (Pepper Spread) which will all make you one very happy Cevapi Chappy. Next, I tried the Zeljanica (Spinach and Mozzarella Cheese) coiled like a Bosun Mate's rope on deck. Uncoiled it will reach from the table to my car. This is a tube of flaky baked pastry stuffed with Spinach and Cheese that is crunchy and creamy in the same bite. The Zeljanica arrived shell casing hot oozing lumps of gooey cheese all tangled up with the Spinach. I just needed a Tuzlanski Pilsner or three. Full as a tick I wanted to tap out but everything looked so good I had to keep going. So, it was a Sofra Urbana Pizza up next. Mozzarella, Mushrooms, fresh Baby Arugula, Bresaola (Basturma, smoked air dried beef), some Truffle Oil, that was lost in the shuffle, and Shaved Parmesan. This Pizza was nicely done. The sturdy crust glistening with good quality Olive Oil supported the generous toppings, the best of which was the Bresaola. (Think Jugo Jerky). Wrap the Bresaola around gauze and it would still taste great. The best Pizza ev-er? Nope. The best Bosnian Pizza this side of Sarejevo? Easily in the running for that accolade. Would you wear your Nicholas Ghesquiere ensemble here? I advise you not to. Bosnian food is not neat. It's messy and all for the best. Using your hands adds to the intimacy of eating. So, dining here is like making love. If you haven't got it all over you, you're doing it wrong. Sofra...so good. read more

Came here on a Sunday party of 4. The restaurant is small and cozy (probably can seat 24 people inside) and has two tables outside. -Ordered the Sofra Urbana pizza which took about 10 minutes to come out. The beef prosciutto is something I have not gotten on a pizza elsewhere so it was very unique and we loved it! -By the time we finished the pizza, the burek came out. The spinach burek was steaming hot, crispy on the outside and came with a tzatziki sauce. -5minutes after the cevapi came. The sausage in the cevapi was super moist and delicious as well. They gave us an extra side of fries for the wait of the food. All the food came out hot and fresh! The pizza is a must since it is so unique. The burek was very good too. Came here for a weeknight dinner. Sofra Urbana has been on my radar for a while - first read about it in the Eater article. Ordered the 10 piece Cevapi and the Burek with potatoe. The cevapi was extremely tasty; beef sausages are super flavorful and cooked to medium rare perfection. The Burek was solid; I think a cheese or meat filling would've been more flavorful. FOOD: Cevapi (Recommend) The national dish of Bosnia! Minced meat stuffed in bread with onions, cream cheese?, and ajvar (pepper sauce). A pretty fulfilling dish that's simple and not too overwhelming with flavors. Meat was juicy and well seasoned, the bread was comforting and the fresh onions gave it a good kick! We ordered pizza from this place for the first time and very glad we did. I ordered directly from the website and was able to have it delivered to my house and it came quite quickly. I called and spoke to them before ordering and they were very kind and helpful with ordering. I placed the order online and didn't realize that I accidentally put pepperoncini instead of pepperoni. The store called to confirm that's what I wanted and the pizza was for the kids so I was very grateful they did. Now that's amazing customer service and I will definitely be ordering from here again. The meat cevapi hit the spot, and was even more delicious than what we had in Bosnia...the bread was soft and moist - just the right texture! Super great! Discovered this place in the AAA magazine months ago and was finally able to stop in. There were so many amazing sounding items that we wanted to try. We had a large group of six people and had a feast with two large pizzas, large salad, large cevapi, and three of the bureks. More than enough food for us all and all delicious items! All of the items were easy to share except the large cevapi. Hard to figure out how to split that well. The staff was really friendly and helpful, answering all of our questions and offering suggestions. They even gifted us free baklava when they heard it was my birthday. Was not expecting that! Items ordered: -Sofra Urbana pizza: LOVED the beef prosciutto. Haven't ever had beef prosciutto before and it was delicious and loved the thickness. All of the flavors on this pizza were spot on and the crust was perfect. -House Special pizza: also had the beef prosciutto. Win! However, this pizza seemed more basic to me and just like a combo pizza you could get anywhere. Crust perfect also! -Large cevapi: consistency of the bread was super soft and so good. The sausage was a bit smoky tasting and also delicious. Don't know what the dips were with it, but all of the flavors mixed really well together and this was one of the best dishes! Just not easy to share well. -Beef bureks: wish we would have gotten one of each, but the beef burek was tasty. Piping hot for awhile, so be careful! It's always fun to try new cuisines and I've never heard of this place until my cousin recommended it. I know absolutely nothing about Bosnian cuisine or culture so it was really cool to experience something different for the first time. I got the small Cevapi which is comprised of 5 beef sausages with raw onions inside their traditional bread. The mini sausages were tiny but popped with flavor with the subtle spices mixed in as well as the smoky grilled flavor. My only critique would be that the proportion of sausages to bread felt a little off. Since the bread was so soft and fluffy, it felt like most of the bites were full of just bread. Maybe the large version with more meat would feel more right to me or maybe that's just how it's meant to be? I wish I knew how to eat it properly though because I kind of just winged it. I added some of the reddish orange condiment to the inside which helped enhance the flavor. I didn't end up adding any of the firm crumbly cheese I'm guessing? Because it wasn't a spreadable texture and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to crumble it in or what. I'll definitely ask the workers next time how to properly enjoy this! This is my third visit to Sofra Urbana. Ordered a number 1 per the Cashier Ervin's Recommendation. A 5 piece ćevapi, fries and a fountain drink. They also give you Ajvar and Kajmak on the side. Ajvar- a red bell pepper/eggplant sauce Kajmak- a cheese spread Soda Fountain Drinks: They have Fanta, Sprite, Fuze ice tea (unsweetened), Hi C Pink Lemonade, Coca-Cola Zero, Original Coca-Cola. Food came out in 15min. I took a full 1 hour to eat this, each bite estimating 80-200 chews with closing my eyes to enhance the flavor and hone concentration on the food itself. The Onion had a consistent crunch texture until about the 150th chew. The mini sausages are so flavorful! I have yet to have a large, as the small is quite filling. I was feeling full with 12 fries left. Fries were crispy, and preferentially my the best texture. The sauces are soooo delish, definitely experiment with the sauces on the ćevapi. Also I definitely am a fan of the Cash App rewards through Square. The most recent time I came here, I got a free small ćevapi with just 3 points! I've never had Bosnian food or meats before and we tried this for the first time during Ramadan when I hosted a couple of friends over for iftaar. We ordered their pizzas since it was an easy shareable thing but their sandwiches seem like a more traditional food that I need to go back and try. We visit Sofia Urbana once a week. It was of high quality each time. We ordered 4 small Cevabis this time. However, when we started eating, my wife realized the Cevabis were not cooked well. The mid section of them were still raw. I had to cut in half and pan fry again. In addition, the crunchy French fries were replaced with a little soggy ones. Tried their Beef Burek, which is like a baked savory, philo dough pastry that is spiral rolled and filled with ground beef. It came with a yogurt dipping sauce. Spinach Burek: Super delicious, texture is like a Vietnamese eggroll but filled with cheese and spinach, comes as a big rolled up sausage-like shape I've never seen before.
