Ordered ahead on the app and came inside to pick up. They didn't have the flavor chips or drink that I ordered so I had to settle for other flavors available (still yummy.) To be honest the inside smelt bad so I sat outside on the patio. I was told the utensils and napkins were in the bag but when I opened the bag after sitting down there weren't any. I went inside and asked for both. After arriving back at my table I open my wrap to find it was not cut in half and was only given a plastic fork when I had just asked for utensils. I again, went back inside and asked for a knife this time. One half of the wrap was stuck to the paper it was rolled in so the wrap itself tore and made for messy eating trying to keep everything inside. This place is definitely a "hidden gem"! From the outside it looks like a typical fast food place. We had a party of 8 (with everybody trying to diet), and were trying to find a place that served healthy food. Also, it's hard to find where it's placed in this particular outside mall. The ordering is a little bit confusing at first. But basically you order a bowl, a salad, or a wrap (hot or cold). Then you can either choose their suggested combinations, or create your own. There is a lot to choose from, including the base of the meal, the toppings, the dressings, and the protein. The average meal seems to start at $8.99. Then depending on what you add to it, could add from $1 to $6 additional cost. The meals are brought out by the staff. They give you generous portions and will tailor your order to your liking. With eight of us, we ordered all different meals (see pics). We tried most of the proteins offered: The chicken was moist, The steak was flavorful and not over cooked, The salmon was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and The seared ahi tuna was pink and delicious! The power bowl is saute'ed carrots, kale slaw, brown rice and quinoa mixed with almonds, raisins, goat cheese and homemade kale-basil pesto. I am ok with the kale basil pesto sauce. But the salad bowl is great because it has the pre mix sauce in it. The Ahi tuna was seared correctly. I believe the outside is coated with spice that very close to all bay seasoning. Now it's normally common sense to eat before you buy food but I was a man on a mission today with three other stops to make and work to do at home. So, without further ado, I packed my WinnDixie groceries in the car and trotted my ass over to So Fresh. I had never been there before so my curiosity was already on alert. The first item on the board sold me. It's pictured along with this review. They call it Superfood. It's a warm bowl of red quinoa, long grain brown rice, broccoli, tomatoes, walnuts, avocado and balsamic vinaigrette (last item on the side in case you don't particularly care for it - me? I love it!). I tried everything in various combos. I think my favorite is the avocado, rice, walnuts and quinoa. A very mellow taste sensation followed by a swig of Mother Kombucha hopped passion fruit. You also have the option of adding other ingredients (proteins) to further flirt with your taste buds - garlic herb chicken, grilled citrus chicken, organic tofu, gulf shrimp, Beyond Sausage (plant-based with no nitrates or soy), sustainable salmon, wild caught ahi (with house flax seasoning mix) or grass-fed steak. Each ingredient, whether basic or optional, is chosen carefully to maximize the overall health benefits of the total meal. There are other warm bowls (skinny, Cali, Greek, power, bbq, teriyaki stir fry, sriracha veggie, rise and shine and broth bowl. Also on the menu are four kinds of salads: signature, Mediterranean, kale Caesar and strawberry Fuji. They have various wraps and quesadillas, smoothies and juice, sides and a kid's menu. So Fresh has improved since my first visit over a year ago. This location has a lot of competition as it sits in a corner of a shopping center with just about every food option represented. I crave good veggies which is actually hard to find at most restaurants and So Fresh does veggies right. The menu has changed to more of a mix and match what you want, which could be confusing, but once you put together a great bowl or salad you're good to go. They'll do whatever you want. The ingredients are healthy, fresh items. The addition of zoodles (zucchini noodles) has got me coming back more often. You can get a seriously tasty and healthy low carb bowl now that the zoodles are available. I honestly love the taste of the zoodles because they are sautéed with much flavor. I usually get the ahi tuna poke bowl, but today the power bowl is my favorite. I had the power bowl with shrimp and had it with steak. Both times I had zoodles in place of brown rice. The power bowl contains goat cheese and a pesto dressing which makes this bowl so scrumptious and satisfying. The guys behind the counter are very helpful and patient. The dining room is contemporary. I have minimal issues with So Fresh: They could stand to bus the tables more often. SoFresh is So Filthy. The food is great. The people are great. The place is filthy dirty. At first look you see clean counters and tables. But the lower the look the worse it gets. The floors in the dining are cleanish looking. But the corners and furniture legs are scum coated. Walk back towards the bathroom and the dirt is thicker and more visible. This is simply a dirty facility. I have been dining there for months but no more. I will not take the chance. Too bad. Stopped in for lunch earlier this week when a class unexpectedly canceled (yay for a leisurely lunch!). Since I was there right after they opened, it was only myself and one other customer, though I watched many people come and go as I sat and ate. It seemed a little dark in the restaurant, but there was a lot of natural light coming in through the windows, as one entire side of the place is floor to ceiling glass. Still, the lack of overhead light felt like I came in early before they were really ready to open. I know, I know, it's weird. Anyway, I ordered the BBQ bowl (spinach, brown rice, onions, cheese, and black beans with steak. It was a bit pricier than I expected it to be at $17, but I suppose that higher quality food will be more expensive - and there are cheaper options, should meat not be what you're looking for. I found this bowl to be pretty large and filling. I would have only eaten half and saved the rest for later if I wasn't spending the afternoon in a classroom. All that to say that the portions do seem big enough to break into smaller meals if desired. There was A LOT of spinach and onion in my bowl, and I felt like I tasted those flavors for the rest of the day. It was mildly off-putting, but maybe that wouldn't have been the case had I poured the BBQ sauce on the food instead of using it as a dip. The menu shows that they also serve salads and wraps, which look delicious as pictured, in addition to soups, smoothies, and juices. I definitely want to try a salad next time I stop in. All ingredients are clearly listed, which is a plus for me, as I'm still working on navigating the eating-out scene as a gluten-free eater. On the north side of town it's easy to get buried in the rubbish of fast food, fatty, and fried just like the cholesterol gods intended so I always appreciate a quick dine and dash spot offering something on the healthy side of life. So Fresh is of course also a so chain which means the menu critiques have little room for flexibility at the local level, but still it is worth noting what you are getting into. Vegetarians can capitalize here because built into the very familiar signature and build your own bowls and salads exists mountains of greens and vegan proteins. However if your inner carnivore is on the prowl then be prepared to pony up some extra dough as on my review I found no bowl that at baseline price included animal meats. I had the signature salad which was topped with plenty of fibrous options at $12 but expect at least $15-17 a bowl if you add the meats. Flavor overall not bad but not remarkable. I would likely return if in the area, but certainly So Fresh will need to improve their flavors or premium ingredient inclusions for this establishment to be seen as superior to their rival healthy bowl competitors. read more

I thought the proportion of quinoa and brown rice was way too much compared to the other toppings. My bowl was quite bland, even with the using all of the pesto that they gave me. Also, I felt like the toppings didn't really mesh together well even though it was a curated bowl. I added tofu to my bowl which definitely helped the flavor because there was a bit more salt. I opted for the Breakfast Bowl with no jalapenos (because I'm a baby). This bowl comes with brown rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, onions, bacon, avocado and two poached eggs (and jalapenos if you can handle it). --- Holy fabulous, Batman! --- I opted for a side of the sweet chili sauce, having had that on a similar bowl at a restaurant in Orlando that subsequently stopped carrying it (WHYEEEEEE, Artisan's Table?! *bring back the juevos rancheros bowl...*). The sweet and sour with the rich eggs, avo, and sweet potatoes balanced the dish with an acidic kick and is actually making my mouth water right now. Definitely give this combo a try! I also opted for a Kale tonic that they make daily. It has cucumbers, kale, romaine, spinach, green apple, lemon, and ginger. I dug it, but note that it's pretty acidic. Customer service was very good. You order at the counter and they deliver to your table. I ordered the Veggie bowl with tofu. I sat and waited which didn't take long. The bowl was pretty large and I knew I would not be able to finish it. It was delicious. The flavors were absolutely spectacular. Well I'm in from out of town visiting family at Moffit and I did a search for local places to eat. So Fresh showed up first and I was really impressed by their menu. I like to watch what I eat and especially when I'm on the road. Been here for three days and eaten their 3 times, total satisfaction all three meals. Love the concept and I really get the feeling that the employees believe in the company and it's brand. I had the pleasure of meeting Mike the GM and he was telling me that he has been at that location for a month and has been trying really hard to make it their top location.
