Hopefully I am not exposing anyone's secret spot, but Leads Coffeehouse is arguably THE secret garden of the Tampa-proper coffee shop scene and hang out. I had the opportunity to stop by last week with some co-workers while we were all running low on some caffeine and was extremely happy with finding Leads Coffeehouse. Located where some might call the "Cusp of South Tampa" (no - actually, no one calls it that and realistically it's only self-proclaimed branding is what's happening here), Leads Coffeehouse is right off North Himes Avenue, paralleling the main drag of Dale Mabry. It does seem like it's in the neighborhood cuts, but that is arguably a part of the appeal of Leads Coffee. The shop does not make itself apparent - whether you're driving by or deliberately looking for it. The signs seem to indicate a Guzman Law Firm, along with Networking Leads - which seem to be some sort of co-working space. However, if you look closely at the sign - you will notice the coffeehouse in fine print. Even as you are walking up, the coffeehouse appears hidden in plain sight - almost like a speakeasy, but for coffee, i.e. legalized crack for daywalkers. There is a parking lot for the venue, however the spaces are rather limited. Inside, you will find a very inviting space with home-y decor and color palettes to match. The seating appears very conducive for study and small work gatherings. Aside from that, I found the postal card mailbox extremely interesting and I will definitely come back here to take advantage of this offering. There is a "traditional" coffee menu with specialized drinks, along with a seasonal bevvie list. Additionally, you can order small eats and baked goods. The baristas and servers are extremely friendly and welcoming. Overall, Leads Coffeehouse is ultimately a great coffee shop to bring friends, family, and co-workers to share company with! read more

Was looking for a new coffee spot and stumbled upon, Leads! Tucked away in an office building in West Tampa. From first glance, it doesn't look like much but once inside-- it is so precious and spacious and cozy. Their decor is amazing. They plenty of seating and tables. They also have board games as well for dates or groups of friends. I got their seasonal drink: Harvest Brew. Orange & Cardamom with an Orange Cold Foam. I am a big fan of orange in my lattes so I was excited! The latte itself was good but I wish they went harder with the cardamom and the orange cold foam tasted odd to me. Almost like sour cream. I assume, hopefully, it's the orange in it & to suggest maybe adding simple syrup as well to the cold foam. I also got their Chicken Salad on Croissant & that was so delicious. No complaints, except that I wish they had options to add lettuce & tomatoes. Also I saw a review that it is onion forward and that holds true! I ended up going back in for a pastry & got their cinnamon roll & my god was it good. Absolutely amazing. Service was amazing-- everything came out quickly & brought to you. I tried to have conversation with the only barista there but it seemed a bit rushed since he also had a friend at the counter he was having a conversation with. But from what I gathered is that have events here such as open mic & bookclub-- they post updates on their instagram. They also closed for a bit & then opened back up. When I walked in, I can tell it was a third space for a lot of people who work remotely and like to collaborate. I recently moved to this area and have been looking for a coffee shop to work remotely from and stumbled upon Leads Coffeehouse while searching Yelp. I'm so glad I tried this place! The inside is large and there were a lot of people there working, but not an overwhelming amount to feel crowded. I had a hot salted caramel latte that was delicious! I also got the chicken salad sandwich, but felt there was too much chicken salad on it and it was also very onion heavy (which isn't my personal preference). I had a lot of hope for this spot. Photos and reviews were all really positive, so I chose to go with some friends to work on a Saturday AM. I will say that I am very particular about my coffee and my matcha - as are my friends. I have often been called a "snob" about coffee, so let this guide your reading of this review. The space is pretty large, and parking was easy to obtain. There were a ton of seating and tables, which was excellent for the atmosphere. They really make excellent use of the size of that space. The staff were really friendly and engaged every single customer in conversation. They made our stuff pretty quickly as well and were accommodating of any requests (oat milk, half sweet, etc.) Our food (two Cuban toasts) were perfectly adequate. Pricing is consistent for what I'd expect. When we got our drinks, we all were disappointed. We had asked for half sweet, and the drinks were still wayyyyyy too sweet. I'm not sure what the shop's definition of half sweet is, but it didn't meet my expectation at all. My friend got matcha and dumped most of it out because of how sweet it was still. I got a pumpkin spice latte and didn't even finish it because of the sweetness. Our other friend got a cafe con leche and found it to be subpar. We didn't feel like asking the staff to remake it, because we should've expected that going into a shop like this and they were busy. All of us agreed that we wouldn't be going back. Overall, if you're someone who doesn't have a palette for coffee quality and/or is better able to adjust your expectations of what you're getting based off the shop, you might like this place. They do have a great space for working, and the staff are friendly. However, if you're like us, there are other shops with higher quality coffee around town to check out. read more

It's quietly sitting there, in a two story professional building... all calm and self-assured-not shouting about itself. And that's how you feel when you go inside. It's chill, it's laid back, it's casual... and you can soak up that vibe at high tops and tables, chair/couch seating. You can sit and get work done-or gather with friends/colleagues. And yeah, there's refreshments! The menu isn't super large, but the hot matcha latte with lavender was very comforting, tasty and smooth. The Cuban toast was crunchy, buttery and like the tea, cinforting. (You can also get it with cheese). The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming-as sunny as the morning light outside. I felt like they were truly glad to see me. You order at a counter in the back left corner, pick your own spot to sit... and they'll bring your order to you. Three sips into that yummy matcha and I was as relaxed as the rest of the place. This would be a great place to have a small work meeting-or catch up on your own work. So glad I found Leads! I like to study and work from home a lot and this is the perfect place for that. It has a lot of tables with some outlets scattered against the walls. The coffee is huge!? Three shots in an iced latte is exactly what I need to get going and stay focused. The flavored coffee is a bit sweet, so get half sweet if you like less sweet. What a great space! My boyfriend and I are visiting from out of town and were looking for a place to send a few emails after AirBnB checkout and before we hit the road. This is that place! Leads has a small selection but everything is made from the heart. We walked into a mostly empty place, but a few coworkers from next door were hanging out and recommended some things to us upon arrival. Super friendly vibe and WOW the offerings are good. We ordered a chocolate lava latte (and let me tell you, I'm NOT a coffee drinker but I kept stealing sips from my boyfriend) and a bacon egg and cheese [croissant]. Being such a small place, once we ordered and sat down I could hear the fresh eggs being cracked into a pan to cook and smell the butter melting!!! Truly a breakfast sandwich made as fresh as can be, with a flaky croissant to hold it all together! YUM! Ive tried there espresso alone and in a hot and iced latte and each time wasnt very good, also the coffee took longer than expected to prepare with me being the only customer. I decided to try their in house-made vanilla syrup Which was quite sweet for my liking but helped the odd taste of the espresso. also, I wasn't a fan of the paper bags that was given to hold the pastries. It was shedding on my coffee, maybe be a concern if gotten into food. But On a brighter note, the pastries I indulged in were truly delicious. While I suspect they may be outsourced, but if they are in fact made in-house is quite commendable if so truly exceptional. I do like their concept i believe it's well executed however they should dial in their espresso machine or check their pressure gauges for the coffee to taste better. overall, a quiet, cute study spot. read more

All I can say is wow! We were driving in the area for an errand & had a yearning for coffee. Based on Yelp reviews, we tried Leads. I can honestly say this was the best coffee experience I've had in Tampa Bay. We drove into a parking lot, looked around, & then spied an unassuming coffee sign on a building. It didn't look like much from the outside. As soon as we entered, I was in awe. Whoever designed the interior of this shop gets an A+. It is beautifully done. In addition some awesome comforting music was playing. The woman making the coffee greeted us & we settled on butterscotch lattes. She brought them to our table & it was love at first taste. The lattes were extra delicious & flavorful with no disgusting sugary sweetness. It was all flavor. As we sipped & talked, I felt like I had been transported to a secret coffee shop. Such an inviting and cute coffee shop! Wow! From the moment I opened the door and stepped in I felt cozy. I happened to stop by for the first time today 11/16 and they have a few Christmas decorations and fireplace videos on the TV. Making this easily one of the coziest coffee shops I've been in. The setup is also incredible and allows for independent work or collaborative work. There's couches, comfy chairs, regular tables and chairs, really covers all basis'. Decor was on point given the season but even without the seasonal decor, this place would look great. Very modern and chic. Service was great and the barista was friendly and patient. I ordered my go-to coffee drink for my first time at any coffee shop, which is a cappuccino. It was great! I do typically like my cappuccinos in a mug rather a to-go cup but didn't specify this, so not really a big deal for me. I also got an apple pie muffin, which hit the spot! I didn't notice the other food items on the board so I unfortunately didn't get anything else but I saw there were Cuban sandwiches amongst other handhelds as well as tacos?! my husband has been talking about trying this place since he first heard about it opening. unfortunately for him, I snuck in without him haha!! I ordered a latte "the great pumpkin" and cuban toast with cheese...both were delicious! the shop itself is well done, with a clean and comfortable atmosphere and a huge window along the side with ample seating. there is a lot of room to come and hang out for a few hours with your laptop or to bring the whole family. I will def be doing this so I can try another one of their delicious drinks. my only recommendation would be to add in some pastry options (maybe a guava and cheese turnover from Alessi?). anyway, I will be back again to try more soon! read more

Last week I stopped by Networking Leads Coffee House and was reminded of how good their tacos and coffee are. I am normally not a coffee drinker but I inhaled my Chocolate Lava Latte in record time. The Tacos? I brought a good friend to try out their tacos for an upcoming event and we both agreed the tacos tasted so fresh and moist! I could have devoured more but, I had to control myself because I was off to a massage. NLCH is a great place to get some work done for those of you who need to focus AND get out of the house.
