My favorite matcha spot in all of Tampa, and honestly, in all of Florida! Lull Cafe is owned by the sweetest couple ever, they take pride in all of their drinks and have great customer service. They usually have a long line no matter the time you get there, but it goes by quick, and they have an adorable seating area so you can wait or enjoy one of their bites right there. Their drinks are well worth it, whether it's coffee, lemonade, matcha... and I know how hard it is to find a quality earthy, umami tasting matcha, but lull cafe never fails to bring on the umami! Had Lull Cafe on my radar for awhile and finally stopped in this weekend. The coffee and matcha were so good I went back the next day for more. The Biscoff latte? Chef's kiss. The cold foam is like a marshmallow topping I can't get enough of. The strawberry matcha was honestly one of the best matchas I've had. Food was great too. The falafels and hummus tasted super fresh and the cheese logs were delicious. One thing to note: weekend wait times are long. From ordering to getting our drinks was about 25 minutes both days, so definitely be prepared to wait. That said, it was worth it. read more

Stopped by here for an afternoon pick-me-up and really enjoyed it! I found this place because I participated in the Tampa coffee crawl - it's tucked away in south Tampa and I'm not sure I would've stumbled on it otherwise. The decor and aesthetic is very cute and welcoming. There's some seating outside next to the coffee trailer with some umbrellas providing shade, which is nice because it's so hot with the sun blaring down on you in the summer time. There's a few parking spots but not a ton, which makes sense because it's more of a grab & go spot. I knew what I wanted to order because I saw some of their drinks on their IG - but their menu didn't really highlight the drinks that I saw on their socials. If I hadn't seen those posts I probably wouldn't have ordered what I did, so I think those specialty drinks should probably be added to the menu, or just posted somewhere on a sign for people to see as options for sure. I ordered the iced banana latte and the cookie butter matcha. Both were really great - the flavor of the banana and the cookie butter didn't overpower the coffee to make it too sweet or the matcha to where I didn't get that matcha flavor anymore. Lack of caffeine following this mornings flight led me to Yelp which led me to Lull Cafe. This is an unassuming little food truck located in a parking lot that cranked out an amazing scrambled egg avocado toast and a comparatively small but delicious caramel macchiato. The young lady who took my order informed of a 10 min wait so I lounged in the shaded outdoor seating available. There are a small number of tables with large umbrellas and a random assortment of chairs to the side for "overflow seating." On walking back up to check on my order, the young lady recalled my name and assured me that food was ready and that the coffee was coming right up. I needed a "light" snack and a pick-me-up and this really hit the spot! read more

Thanks to @RachelM for telling us about this new place in South Tampa. The area around Gandy has really changed from gritty to upscale over the decades. This food truck tucked behind a gas station, is a chill, cool, welcome, casual blast from the past. Not pretentious. Not fancy. Just great Guatemalan coffee and creative lattes plus some nicely marinated chicken wraps or rice dishes. Seating is outside, under well positioned shade awnings. Parking is haphazard but available. Espresso is rich and complex. My wonderful wife's coconut latte was "just delicious" in her words, not mine! The unisex bathroom is inside the gas station but available if you ask nicely for the key. No. Will they think you're cooler than you really are if you show them this little hole in the wall that you can't even see from the street?... Maybe. My wife and I each had a coffee. She got the Biscoff matcha and I got the Biscoff latte. +1 star for having anything Biscoff. My latte was delicious. I also got a croffle (a croissant made like a waffle) that was covered with whipped cream, strawberry preserves, and fresh strawberries. Maybe a touch too much whipped cream... But it was very good. I have seen Lull Cafe's biscoff iced latte all over social media and finally found myself in the area when they were open (they are closed on Tuesdays!) so I had to give it a try. The entire experience lived up to the hype! The staff were so friendly and even offered to bring my drink to my car when it was ready, which was very helpful considering the coffee shop is entirely outdoors and it has been colder than normal in Tampa. In nicer weather, they have outdoor seating available to customers. The latte was well-balanced and very flavorful. They were generous with the cold foam and the biscoff, which was delivered as a syrup, a cookie butter spread lining the cup, and a cookie on top of the lid. The price was very reasonable, the time from placing my order to receiving my coffee was minimal, and the value was there for me. Highly recommend! read more

I've visited twice now, and both the food and service have been consistently great. Love this hidden gem (that probably won't be so hidden in the near future). The cafe is a food truck located behind a gas station, right off the hwy -- so convinent for those commuting to work. I tried the Biscoff latte hot with an extra shot - so it was very good and not to sweet. Also bought my coworker the iced biscoff and she was obsessed -- she went back the next week and did a coffee run for us. I also have tried the Pumpkin Spice latte ! My favorite pumpkin spice, I asked for it to be less sweet. It was made and topped with pumpkin puree. So it a little thick , I would go back for it over and over again. I also have tried the Croffle. It was AMAZING ! There is no need for icing, syrup, etc. It seemed to have a sugared coating on it... Hope to go back and try a cheese roll or chicken bowl. Amazing hidden gem at the South of Gandy! It's a lovely couple that owns the truck and they are so sweet! The wife is Asian and I am all about supporting our Asian owned / local businesses! Their menu is amazing - tons of breakfast options and lunch options! We got to try their croffle, strawberry zen and pumpkin spice latte! The psl was autumn in a cup, not overly sweet and came with a scoop of pumpkin puree! The zen was made with amazing matcha and a bit sweet but make sure you mix it! They seemed to have a community since there were consistent customers. They also had plenty of food options and drinks. We love going to Lull Cafe! Me and my partner go so many times what we have a stamp card. It's a cute little coffee truck trucked away. I would say it's one of the best matcha in the Tampa Bay Area. Their drinks never disappoint. The baristas are always so nice and it's just has this very laid back vibe to it. It has outside seating that fits the food truck aesthetic. The only down side is the parking. Since it's been so popular lately, one a busy day you might have trouble parking. And when it does get packed you might have to back your car out for some people. Went on a Saturday afternoon and to my surprise it was packed considering it was tucked away behind a gas station. The truck and set up is super cute and the menu is easy to navigate. Prices are all super reasonable as well. We got the falafel wrap lunch special for $12, which tasted fresh and I enjoyed the fries (just slightly greasy). I LOVED their homemade hot sauce that they added with the meal! The food is nothing I would write home about but the drinks are outstanding and VERY pretty to look at as well! We got the biscoff latte and strawberry zen. The biscoff latte was SO delicious and not too sweet. Same with the strawberry zen, it tasted pretty fresh and the puree wasn't overly sweet. This is the cutest outdoor cafe truck ever! It is reminiscent of an Asian-flavored Casa Azul (another similar cafe). I really loved the strawberry matcha latte. It's clear they used fresh and real strawberries since it had the tartness of a berry while providing just enough sweetness for the latte. Not too sweet = perfect! I always love a good falafel so that was the first thing that caught my eye, and the seasonal drink flavors seemed to draw a lot of attention judging by the chatter from others in line behind us.
