There is a nail tech there that sits on the end closest to the bathroom she is the most immature ignorant unprofessional nail tech I have ever seen in my 59 years on earth. I usually come in before or after I leave the gym so I ALWAYS have my gym clothes on ALWAYS. I have been going to SoHo for years I began seeing her a couple of years ago whenever I see her she looks me up and down rolls her eyes at me goes around to the other techs looking at me & whispering then saying things out loud in her language looking at and referring to me. I don't know this chic from a can of paint so I don't know nor care exactly what her problem is with me but I know that I feel harassed and bullied by her whenever I go to get a service done at the nail salon I have been going to for years. Perhaps it is time for me to begin looking for another nail salon. The nail techs name that I am referring to is Victoria or Valerie I know her name begins with a V. She does not appear to be a secure professional or nice person so beware. I also know someone who knows this chic personally that stated point blank something is not right with V. Just a heads up folks! Literally everyone else in the shop rocks besides V or else I wouldn't have kept coming back but V needs be more of a professional nail tech and less of a nail tech who appears to have emotional and psychological issues. read more

I was in KC visiting family and decided getting my nails done would be a great way to sneak away for a little bit. I chose this place entirely on location, so I did not really have any preconceived ideas of quality. I booked online, which went smoothly. I booked for a gel polish. I was a little confused between the two gel options of "gel polish" for $20 vs "gel polish manicure" for $30. I would have much preferred to just get the $20 option because I didnt really need a full manicure. I tried to ask this question when I arrived, but was pretty much told that I had to do the $30 option. I was a little frustrated that this happened. I went on a Friday afternoon and the place had a good amount of people there, but still plenty of space for walk-ins. Pedicures have the nice big massage chairs. Manicures all happen at a horseshoe shaped counter. I was also not thrilled with the work done. I asked the person doing my nails to please get as close to the cuticle as possible, because it always bothers me when there is a gap and the nails look grown out immediately. I was disappointed when leaving when I saw that there were gaps around every nail. (See pictures). In future visits to KC I probably will not return to this place and will do a more thorough Yelp search :) read more

If I could rate this with zero stars, I would. I'm not a complainer, but it's been less than 48 hours since I got a gel manicure at Soho Nail Spa and I'm waiting until they open to have them remove the shotty job. The lady who did my nails tried to talk me into doing dip - which I did not want. She started the buff my nails with the tool they use before dip or acrylics. This isn't my first time at a nail salon. I told her to stop and that's not what I asked for. She walked away and when she came back, she very aggressively did my "manicure" and didn't say a word until the end when she said "That's $30." I left unimpressed - definitely not coming back - but okay with the color *I* chose. The night I got them done, they almost immediately started chipping. It's been less than 48 hours later and the polish has continued to chip, has lifted off my nails completely, and my cuticles look like a 5 year old did them. I've yet to find a salon in KC that I like, but this one is way down on the list. Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more

Absolutely the worst nail place i have ever been too. Customer service is terrible. Been there twice and the first time my nail tech did not take my direction well at all and was no help. But i decided to go a second time and give them the benefit of the doubt. No, I went in for a simple gel polish and left with my nails bubbling and polish all over my fingers. the lady that did my mani and pedi did not have the competence to understand I was telling her I wanted gel acrylic nails and a basic pedicure, the lady took it as u wanted gel on my toes after asking me what I wanted color wise on my nails. While she was doing my nails my face started burning, she cut my cuticle to the point of bleeding, I've been left with my middle and pinky finger in pain. the shape of my nails are not straight as viewed in the pictures online, mine are wonky and curved, not at all straight, most of the French tips are uneven. Well, yet another nail salon review for your viewing pleasure.... I am visiting my parents this week and decided to treat my mom and I for a little day of beauty. This place had just opened up, and we checked out their Facebook page. Seemed pretty nice and the prices were even better! Although we were a walk-in on a saturday morning, we arrived early, and the place wasn't crowded at all, but they only had four workers. I mean where I live...Saturday morning at nail salons are PACKED, and no self respecting salon would have less than 8-10 workers....no seriously! The service was very, very slow. It took two hours to do a mani/pedi. The result is a not so good job. My cuticles have seen better. The polish selection is decent and they do offer all the extras like waxing, nail designs, and even the newest gel manicure! With so many options everywhere, I'm not sure I would go back. I was here this afternoon after I got off work. I will never go here again. Literally paid $40 (without tipping) and endured a painful powder dip manicure. 6 of my fingers are stinging from the heat of the tools used and I was bleeding on 3 of my digits; 1 of which under my nail bed. My powder is still uneven and I asked the nail tech to fix it, he grumbled and said it was because of the powder I selected which isn't true because I got the same color once before and they turned out beautiful. The male tech did a botch job, was rude, and left powder residue on my cuticles. He offered to fix it after I pointed out that it looked bad but since I was already in pain I didn't want him touching me again. He said that everything else should "wash off" and that he did the best he could. This was the worst experience I've had at this salon. Very unimpressed, as he rushed through my nails and it shows. He could obviously tell I was upset and kept making excuses blaming it on the polish I selected. I tip very well, and have tipped other girls at this establishment for doing a wonderful job. I highly recommended if you do go to this salon don't have the men do your nails because it shows that they don't care. After reading such rave reviews, I was so excited to try this place out. Sadly, I was underwhelmed as I wasn't a fan of the customer service. I wasn't acknowledged when I walked in so I stood around awkwardly and just made my way over to the polish wall until someone acknowledged my existence. As soon as they found out I only wanted a polish change, it was the speediest polish ever. Paint, stick hand under light, (for not even the entire time of the timer) and repeat. I wanted three layers as the color was still opaque and eesh, sorry for the inconvenience. I guess I'll continue my hunt for my favorite nail salon around town. read more

I'm here a lot, and while your experience may depend on who you get doing your nails, almost everybody who works here is efficient and friendly and does a good job. They don't try to oversell you on upgrades in my experience, and they don't try to chat with you the whole time if you're not into it (I'm not) which I appreciate. My best friend and I decided to try this place out the other day and get pedicures. We were greeted, picked out the color of our choices and seated. Our first red flag shortly after we were seated was when they began their work. Our toes weren't clipped or shaped, but that was forgiven. It could be worse, right? As the woman was working on my feet I felt a burning sensation. She was using the buffing block on the skin of my toe! Again, I forgave her and we moved on. Soon after I look over at my friend's toes. Her French tips were SUPER thick, uneven, chunky, choppy and didn't even go all the way from one side of the nail to the other. The design she was given (a simple flower) was also choppy and just slopped on. The nail polish on my toes didn't cover my full nail either. Lots of spots were missed. All in all, I walked away with 3 cuts and a scrape from the woman who worked on me, and my friend walked away with 1 cut and very unprofessional "French tips." Lesson learned, we won't be coming back. I wonder if these people truely feel proud of their "work" because personally, I wouldn't. read more

Less than impressed. I've been going to Soho since the day they opened and they have done very good work up until the past two years or so. It seems that since they've become more popular they are less concerned about quality and customer service. For a while I would brush it off because the work wasn't the worst I've had done. Today I went for a dip manicure. They tried to push acrylic on me and I told them no firmly, I've become used to them trying to push things on me that I don't want. I chose my color for the dip powder and when I told the technician that I wanted glitter on my ring finger as well she asked if I wanted an ombré. I was like ok fine ombré with glitter would be cute. She then decided on her own to do the ombré on all of my fingers except the ring finger which she accidentally put glitter on the whole nail. She was rushing through the whole thing and I asked for a complete manicure which typically includes the lotion massage which I didn't get. I get that they were very busy but they shouldn't be rushing through clients that are paying good money for their services. On top of all of that, I didn't have an appointment and they got me in very quick however they told 4 separate people to come back at 3 pm when their appointments were at 12:30 pm. They were overbooked and overwhelmed and rushing through clients because of it. As I said, less than impressed, I'm not usually a complainer but I've put up with the lack of quality and customer service for far too long. I used to love going to Soho and now I am actively searching for another nail salon that does the work that Soho used to do. read more

Overpriced and very low-quality job. I was excited to try this place since it's close to where I live but I definitely will not be returning. After 2 days of getting a shellac manicure, the polish discolored to brown splotches all over my nails. I was pleasantly surprised when I called and they said to come back in and they'd fix it, but come to find out "fixing" meant they buffered the existing stained polish and painted over it with 3 coats. So now I have 7 coats of shellac polish on my nails.... Moral of the story, I will not be returning and will continue my search to find a quality place for a decent price. read more
