Don't support this hotel as they don't support their customers. Just book somewhere else. This place has no heart to it whatsoever. I couldn't make my reservation due to coming down with a fever and flu. I had booked two rooms for 5 nights each (that's a lot of money!). Given the circumstances and all the money I'm spending with them, I asked if they could possibly work with me on applying the funds to a future visit a month later. They wouldn't work with me at all. No solution or suggestions whatsoever. They just kept throwing their "policy" at me. I had to flush that money down the drain. Sometimes you should just work with the customers who support your business and spend thousands of dollars with you. What's my motivation to ever support this place? I've been hotel hopping for the past four months, and I have to say I'm not impressed. Perhaps I should have researched better. Good experience for someone who wants to be adventurous and is not from New York and is visiting museums and wants to get that tenement experience. I've stayed in 50 Bowery and That's more my speed it was just a little further from the bars we wanted to go to. This room was hot, terrible water pressure, no elevator and the bed sucked. Also they charge you an extra surcharge. This room reminds me of a hostel. No elevator. Cool looking lobby, staff is nice that's about it. The view was terrible. No iron to iron clothes. read more

I flew into New York to visit my friend and we stayed at the Sohotel. We were excited to spend the weekend together as we rarely get to see each other living across the country. Unfortunately, we had a horrific incident happen on our first night at the Sohotel. The room we were booked in was unbearably hot and like some older hotel establishments, there was no thermostat to control the heat. In order to have a comfortable night's rest, we decided to open the large window to cool the room down. A little past midnight, we heard a lot of commotion outside of our window. We assumed it was just people coming out of the bars. Within a few minutes, my friend who was closest to the window saw the silhouette of a man trying to get into our room. She screamed and I jumped out of bed trying frantically to push the man out the window. I had no idea what I was doing but just tried all my might to get him to not come in. He finally stopped pushing in and we were able to lock the window. We went to the front desk to explain the situation. They came to the room and this was when I realized our window was at the level of a roof top. Luckily, the intruder was still on the roof and looked like he was stuck there. They called the police and moved us to a higher level where there was no roof access. Needless to say, we had a terrible night and woke up incredibly sore. Unfortunately, the hotel chose not to refund us for the first night or give us a discount except removing a fee we didn't know about. When we spoke to the manager about the situation, she commented that she was glad the intruder did not fall and hurt himself. This was disturbing since she didn't seem very concerned about our emotional, mental and physical distress. I returned to Seattle with a horrible flu which I'm not sure was due to the stressful nights at Sohotel but I know it didn't help. The hotel had a chance to make it right but chose not to be concerned about our well-being which leads me to believe they would not be concerned about anyone staying there so I would not recommend this hotel if you are staying in New York. read more

My husband surprised me with a trip to NYC for my birthday. He'd never been to the city and was completely unfamiliar with what to expect. He chose this hotel and I couldn't have been more pleased. The place is steeped in architectural eye candy. The location is - as all have described - superb. We walked to the 911 museum, Chinatown, midtown and beyond. We had dinner in Greenwich (in a yurt no less) and felt comfortable and at home in this hotel. I travel a lot. Staying in another Marriott, while practical for business maybe, just doesn't make for a memorable experience. This place does. I'll be back. read more

This was an awful experience. One of our beds was under a leak in the ceiling, dripping water onto my son during the night. He slept horribly. Also, there is virtually no security - the front desk was frequently unmanned, with nobody watching who is coming and going. Anyone could have come in off the street. They moved us out of our room with leak (good news) but the new room did not have a chain lock on the door (bad news). Also, loud music on Friday night from the bar downstairs. This hotel - I don't see why anyone would stay here. When we complained about the cost of the room with leaky ceiling on checkout, we were given 30% off -- with the logic that since our room had 3 beds and only one bed had a leak over it, then we should just get that one-third off the price. They kept asking why didn't call during the night. There are no phones in the rooms! Also, sometime when something like a slow drip is happening, you just deal with it during the night and address in the morning. I lived in NYC for 9 years- I know what to expect in a hotel. I lived in NYC for two decades and I know exactly how little space anything in this city has. That said, the room my family and I stayed is smaller than I would ever have imagined. Some previous reviewer compared it to a barrack. I can only agree with him/her. It was super-small. There was no room to open your suitcase except on top of your bed (and be careful that those wheels don't schmutz-up your bedsheets) and when all five of us were in the room all we could do is just lie on our beds. So, yes, this hotel is just for you to have a roof over your head for the night. It is pretty useless for anything else. The TV didn't work but we didn't really care enough to get it fixed. As I said before, the room was just useful enough to get a night's sleep. There is no way that you could watch TV comfortably (even if you had a functioning TV). All that said, I have nothing else to say that could be described as "bad". The location is interesting and exciting (again, I lived in NYC for half of my life and there are very few corners left that feel like NYC should feel - and the part the Sohotel is located is definitely one of those, i.e. don't be afraid) and the staff is very friendly. We arrived very early in the day and there was no room available, yet. The bellhop took care of our luggage, we spend the day in the city (did I tell you that even if we had a room it would have been impossible for all five of us to have a relaxing time to deal with jet lag?), and when we came back after 3pm our room was ready. There was no unpacking involved because there was nothing to put our clothes (am I being redundant?). Unlike others, we did not have a problem with noise (walls are rather thin but as previous NYC apartment dwellers it didn't bother any of us too much) or water pressure. I was really disappointed in my stay at Sohotel. My aunt and I were in NYC for one night while we were seeing a concert at the Bowery Ballroom. The location was convenient, but that's about where that stopped. I had read reviews, so I somewhat knew what to expect when I arrived, but frankly it was worse that I had thought. The good: - Location if you are attending something in the Bowery The bad: - 4th floor walk up with all your luggage - Room was $250 for basically a closet (I read that some people found cheaper rooms.. I looked high and low and with tax this was the cheapest that we could find) - Room was old and not updated. Old dresser that looked like it came from off the street. Cracks in the walls and paint. Cracks in the bathroom floor. - Smallest bathroom I've ever seen in my life - NO WINDOWS. There was a "skylight" in our room which was basically a small hole in the ceiling with a dirty window covered by a grate. - the fan in our room was one of those $50 chinsy apartment fans and squeaked all night - AC was so high up that we couldn't reach to turn on/off/adjust. Our room was about 100 degrees all night. We both slept with no covers on and left at 5:30am the next day because we slept so poorly. No thanks. read more

You really can't expect much for the price you pay here. Let's review the experience I had. I went in to view the hotel before I stayed there and they let me check out the room before I checked in. The rooms are small, with barely any room between the foot of the bed and the drawer unit/TV/wall. The bathroom too is narrow and small but it's new, and everything was functional. The bedroom was an amusing mix. The bed was not particularly comfortable as the sheets weren't really secured to the mattress - and they weren't soft. Also it was clear the hotel was furnished by Costco - Vizio TV's and kirkland signature tissue boxes. haha. The hallway smelled a bit of paint and lack of elevator could have been murder with a big bag. It's not a BAD place but it's just a step up from a hostel. If you want my recommendation, go around the corner to the Best Western Bowery Hanbee on Grand and Bowery. I found an $89 special on Travelzoo, plus they have more space, free breakfast and wifi, larger bathroom, and a more modern feel. read more

I stayed here one, somewhat over a year ago, and I would never stay here again. I was torn between giving this joint 2 stars or 3, and it really deserves about a 2.4 star rating. The hotel, including the lobby, hallway and rooms, is basically functional and adequate in terms of the basic facilities. It is totally acceptable in those realms. And the front desk staffers, while often a bit quirky, are pretty good at what they do, with the sole exception of the BIZARRE matter which I will mention below. Incidentally, a lot of the clientele are somewhat "trendy" Europeans and South Americans, so, if you are loking for a hotel with an artsy or trendy clientele, this will likely fit the bill. What is NOT acceptable is that this hotel bills itself as a non-smoking hotel, and the room that I booked, and was given, was, of course, a non-smoking room. However, the stark fact is that, both day and night, there are a great number of "illegal smokers" (the term used by the hotel front desk staff in repeatedly and casually dismissing the problem, and in refusing to address the issue) in a great many of the rooms, and thus I found that the hallways always smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and my "non-smoking" room, due to smoke-laden air coming in under the door, and through the cracks in the brick room walls, and via the ventilation system, always stank of cigarette smoke! Always. It was pretty nasty! I complained numerous times about the smoke problem to the front desk staff and even to front desk managers, but each time they smiled, gave me excuses and did nothing about the issue. This hotel relies heavily upon the European and South American tourists, and it is primarily many hof these tourists who insist upon "smoking illegally" (the hotel's term) in their rooms, and it is PAINFULLY OBVIOUS that the hotel managment has made a conscious decision not to risk alienating these many "illegally smoking" foreign guests by asking them to stop smoking in their rooms. The net reult is that the hotel stinks of smoke worse than many hotels where smoking is allowed everywhere. Because of this fact alone, and the complete complacency of management in response to my complaints, I would NEVER stay in this hotel again! Some more notes: This hotel has no elevators, and thus I needed to climb two flights of stairs (I was starting from the second floor, which is where the lobby and front desk are located) to reach my room. This did not bother me at all, for I love any chance to get a bit of exercise in our modern over-pampered world, but I was a bit shocked, after having checked in, when a bellhop offered to escort me to my room, and also offered to carry my luggage. I accepted his offer to show me the way to the room (else I would never have found it in the very old but well-cared-for and well-appointed building), but I insisted on carrying my own luggage, simply because my body needed the exercise. My room had two queen beds, and the room size was just about identical to that of the rooms in most Manhattan hotels in the $180 to $440 price range, which means that it was a bit small (but totally comfortable and workable), simply due to the realities of real estate prices and property taxes in Manhattan. I found the hotel interior, including the room, to be very well-maintained and well-restored, given that the SoHotel is located in a quaint old building with a lot of history behind it. The hallways are rather narrow (which is fine, no complaints there. ...) and the stairwells seem to be the original narrow stairwells from the original interior architecture, but I have no complaints at all about the narrowness of the old stairwells and the hallways, and, in fact, each added to the charm and quaintness of the hotel. Again, however, I would never return to this hotel, simply due to the problem of the many guests who smoke behind locked doors in their "nonsmoking" rooms and thus stink up the hallways and the other rooms, and due to the total lack of interest and sincerity on the part of staffers and management in managing the behavior of the many "illegal smokers". As others have said, this hotel is in a pretty good location, right on the border of Soho and Chinatown. That makes the entirety of downtown accessible on foot, and plenty of trains close by. The decor is cute and funky, if a bit cheap/IKEA. And the staff were excellent--super nice and helpful. But, this hotel needs work. When I arrived at the hotel (which has no elevator and reception on the 2nd floor), it was prior to check in and they courteously agreed to store my bags. But when I returned later, problems began. First, it took a really long time for my bag to come up from storage. No worries--the desk attendant offered to escort me to my room, where I could wait for my bag. But then, the room I was escorted to was under construction. So we had to return back downstairs and get a new room--and then, when we went to the new room, the key didn't work. So they had to bring me my key later. All of this would be excusable if little things like this didn't keep happening. Like when my key didn't work again when I came back to the room later. Or when my smoke alarm went off while I was showering due to the steam. Also, because this is a revamped, old hotel, it is not very soundproof - you can hear every conversation in the rooms next door as well as the hallway. Loud loud loud!! Midweek in February, this wasn't too problematic since it was relatively empty. But I can't imagine a busy summer weekend. I probably would not stay here again. Though it's very affordable, the missing amenities (such as an ironing board, closet, or phone to contact the front desk) combined with the other issues make this not such a good deal after all. And my room was one of the tiny ones. There are plenty of other hotels in this price range, so next time I'm in the city I'll try another one. read more

This hotel is not fancy. Not by any stretch of the imagination. But it has two major things going for it- location and price. It's cheap and it's close to SoHo, Chinatown and the East Village. So long as you don't plan to spend a lot of time in your room- which, if nothing else, is clean and has a/c- this is a decent pick. Our room had three beds, so I suspect this could be a choice for folks traveling on a tight budget with a group of close friends. read more

A very unique hotel. I won't even try to speculate what the intended theme is because I am sure I'd be wrong. It is reasonably priced, great location in Chinatown and close to Little Italy! Downsides, you still have to find somewhere to park the car so that's an added $75 plus they will charge you a $250 deposit in case of damages. Which, if you are vacationing on a budget that's $325 you need to account for, but yes you get the $250 back assuming all goes well. But, if you didn't count on that money being out for a few days than it can be a surprise! These might be common things in New York City if you are a regular, but we only make it a few times a year and don't stay overnight all the time. "Is this a Hostel or a Hotel?" I went here last night to go pick up some friends that were visiting from San Francisco and show them "the real NYC". This place is just below Delancy so just at the top of Chinatown. The location is good as a jump off point for walking around the Lower East Side/ SOHO/ NOHO/ Little Italy/ChinaTown/ NoLiTa. Now I'm a native New Yorker so I found it lacking in subway availability! The "J" Line Really? Hygiene: Well I wouldn't LICK the floors BUT you don't have to worry about rats scurrying in between the walls either (like most apartments in this area). Safety Seemed safe enough! Was not afraid of getting stabbed. The doors worked so well even my friend had a hard time gettin back into the room...... AND HE HAD THE KEY! LOL The Decor: Its PRETTY!!! The hotel itself was really clean & and in my female opinion with cool interior design. I would call it a New Age "Shabby Chic" design. Think HOT PINK walls, black French furniture and LOTS and LOTS of ZEBRA PRINT! I really liked it! Ambiance: While waiting for my friends all I saw were young travelers/student types/ backpackers. I asked the front desk if "Is this a Hostel or a Hotel?" When the front desk answered me I remembered I was in NYC! The look of utter disdain that the receptionist and the tone of disgust she gave me at even mentioning any relation to a "hostel" gave me a WARM FUZZY FEELING ALL OVER of the gentrification that the neighborhood has been going through! Ummmm.......But what am I to think? No elevator.... which means that you have to hike up to your "room" up countless staircases with all your belongings! (There is a nice bellboy though). Probably the absolute worst sleep I have gotten in a hotel in a very long time. If your in your 20's and don't mind doors slamming, people basically partying in the hallway, hearing all the traffic outside, a room so tiny that you can barely pass someone else walking around if you turn side ways and walking up flights of steps because there is no elevator then this is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear of this place. The rooms were clean, however, the surrounding area was so loud that it felt like I was sleeping in the middle of the street. I could clearly hear the music from next door at 4am. Around 7:30 am, extremely loud construction noise woke us up and it didn't stop till almost check out time. Around 10:30, even though we had our do not disturb sign on, the housekeeping started knocking on our door trying to get in to clean the room. I spent 4 days in NYC with 3 other friends and Sohotel was a perfect place to stay. The location is great with lots of food and not that far away from Soho. The nearest subway station was also just 3 minutes away. The hotel itself was really clean & with cool interior design. For 4 ppl we got 2 queen beds & the bed and pillows are nice & comfy. The front desk was super nice and friendly. They gave us NYC travel booklets on the first day & let us print our itineraries on the last day. Moreover, for a hotel in NYC, the price of this hotel wasn't bad at all. I will definitely stay here again if I'm visiting NY again. Truly recommended. read more

**Beware of hidden "Confirmation Fee" and poor Customer Service** First impression was good. You enter a really cute foyer and head up stairs to an equally cute lobby (though they were in the middle of some renovations right outside the font desk). Things went down hill after that. Over the phone, my sister booked a Superior Family room (2 queens and a twin) in Nov. 2013 for an April 2014 bachelorette party. The week before the party she called again to confirm everything. A 2nd Superior Family room was book by another party attendee when our guest list increased. So two rooms booked to accommodate 9 girls. We arrive at Sohotel Saturday April 11th around 4:45pm. We check in and my sister finds out that they canceled her reservation and gave the room away. Apparently the hotel attempted to run a "confirmation fee" of $30 the day before the reservation, a fee they never once mentioned to her in the multiple conversations they had. There was an issue with sister's credit card and it was declined. Supposedly the hotel emailed her. (She has yet to receive any email from them and yes, she also checked her junk mail). They never called... only claim to have sent an email. At this point, the gentleman working the desk told my sister there was no manager on duty and was ready to turn us away completely. With a little bit of negotiation they "helped us out" by putting us in a room with 1 queen bed. The room was originally supposed to sleep 5 people, and they put us in a room made for 2 people after giving away the room booked in November. Imagine my shock to open a door expecting a suite for 5, and finding 1 queen size bed packed into a tiny room. I made my way back to the front desk and asked to speak to a supervisor. And guess what.. the gentleman LIED to my sister, there in fact was a manager on duty. Sadly, she didn't offer much help saying there would have to be an "internal investigation" to see if they could locate this supposed email. In the mean time, I asked how she would accommodate sticking 4 people in a room for 2. In the end, they gave us an extra 2 blankets and a pillow. I took the floor and the other girl squeezed into the larger suit with the rest of the girls. The next morning, we spoke with another supervisor, who did apologize and seemed genuinely shocked by the entire situation but still offered little help to reconcile. We were told we would have to follow up on Wednesday when the guy who originally made the reservation would return from vacation. (I'm not sure why the managers there lack the ability to check an outbox for an email.) Needless to say, we were all extremely disappointed in the situation, and their inability to make up for it. I DO NOT understand why a business would relay on one email to confirm. Why wouldn't you pick up the phone and try to talk to someone directly before canceling a reservation that was made 5 months prior?? For people in the hospitality business, they were extremely quick to discard an entire group of people. I have not given up on this situation. I'll call everyone I can until my sister is refunded her money. IN SUMMARY: The Suite the 6 other girls squeezed into was perfectly nice, though they had an electrical problem where the bathroom light kept turning on and off by itself. The Standard room with the Queen bed 3 of us squeezed into was tiny, but probably would have been perfectly fine for a couple just needing a bed for a night. Thin walls though - had to listen to a neighbor retching all Sunday morning. In my opinion, over priced. (They charged her about $345 for 1 Queen bed... to put that in perspective, the 5 person suite was about $360) Customer Service - inadequate. The two managers' genuine apologies were appreciated but not enough. Someone on their staff completely dropped the ball with the reservation and the follow up. It's their responsibility to make their guests feel important and cared for, that's the hospitality business. As I told the 2nd manager when she said "I hope this doesn't deter you from staying with us again" -- we'll see what the final resolution turns out to be. read more

This was my first hotel experience in NYC as I live in NJ and usually just crash with a friend or commute home. Sohotel was better than I expected because granted I expected not a whole lot! The rooms cover the basics and are comfortable. The staff was helpful. The AC worked and we successfully made our room an ice box. Outside noise was not an issue. While there are no bodegas and the like immediately outside of the hotel (somehow you are in the lighting and restuarant supplies district, who knew?) you are a couple blocks away from some Lower East Side stuff in one direction and Little Italy in the other. Like, extra-tiny. But again, clean. We stayed one night there before checking into a 5 star hotel, so I guess that's why I'm being so indulgent. But really, the Sohotel wasn't a bad experience. The front is awful. You would think you're about to enter a dumpy horrible hotel. But it's not the case. The inside is well decorated, the staff is nice. I to this day do not understand why our room had 2 queen size and one twin bed in it. I just don't. I asked for a normal room, with one bed, and I end up with three. Meh, whatever. I'll recommend the Sohotel for people who don't want to spend much money and are not used to total luxury. Then, it's an ok choice. Hahaha...this hotel is a joke. Like it literally said on their door: Over-priced, under-sized rooms. My boyfriend and I went their on St.Patrick's day. The hotel staff somehow decided to throw us in a 2 bedroom suite when he clearly had better choice to give us. There was a kitchen and a big bathroom in the suite. By big I mean bigger than the bedrooms. Not bad if you travel with 3 friends. But there were only 2 of us. So every time I wanted to go to the bathroom, I had to walk pass the main door and worried if anyone was gonna come in. Above all, the single bed was tiny and not comfortable. I am extremely dissatisfied with the way Sohotel management treated my friend and I when we were guests and survived a terrifying attempted break-in around 2AM on the date of 1/18/20. We were asleep in our room when were awakened by an intruder, who was forcing his way through the window of the room. I was yelling in fear while my friend heroically pushed him out of the window onto the roof below. We then directly went to notify the staff and asked that they call the police. The hotel staff relocated us to a different room. The police arrived and we had to show them where the intruder was located on the roof. And from what happened there, I haven't a clue. We were never given an update about the situation or who this man was, and weren't asked to complete a report. We were told the manager would be in touch but of course that wasn't the case. When I asked for the manager on Saturday, I was told that I would have to wait until the next day to speak to her. On Sunday, the manager was unable to tell us how we would be compensated and that we would know when we checked-out the next day. Upon checkout, we learned that the only compensation was the removal of the nightly NYC hotel tax from our bill which totaled $58. I am extremely disappointed that management would think that deducting 58 dollars from our bill would redress this matter! You should be ashamed of yourselves and how you mistreat your guests! read more

The bellhop was nowhere in sight so we had to carry our own stuff. Normally not a big deal, but there's no elevator. You have to go up 2 flights of stairs to get up to the reception desk. First, they couldn't find my reservation. They sent us to the wrong room. We walked in on strangers, which was awkward to say the least, and were forced to walk down 2 flights of stairs with luggage to get them to check and eventually give us the right room key. That's 4 flights of stairs to get to our room. There was pubic hair in the bathroom when we got there. The lamp didn't work. The beds are sunken in. The sheets were stained. There was nowhere to plug in our cell phones. They covered the only outlets in the room with furniture. The room was arctic and the space heater they provided didn't work. The walls are paper thin and you can literally hear EVERYTHING. I could hear everything happening in the bathroom of the room next door, everything in the room on the other side, everything in the hallway. I left a key card at the desk for my friend and they lost it. When they made her a new key card, mine no longer worked. Despite a "do not disturb" sign, they still tried to come into my room. The water from the showerhead literally came out as a trickle. One sad stream, like a leaky faucet. In no way enough to wash your hair. The hair dryer stopped working after 30 seconds. Checkout was a NIGHTMARE. Despite having 2 people at the front desk, I was ignored for upwards of 10 minutes. I went and stood directly in front of the person so they knew I wasn't with the giant party of insanely annoying college kids, blocking every exit and taking up a ton of space, at the other side of the desk. She stared at the desk, ignoring me, for a full 60 seconds before I asked to speak to a manger. Turns out that Dennette, the woman ignoring me, IS a manager. She was supposed to contact me in regards to my stay. Shockingly, she did nothing. As others stated, this is a hostel fraudulently marketing itself as a "boutique" hotel. The rooms look nothing like the photos on the site and are a HUGE ripoff for the price. Absolutely NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Try the Solita- it's nearby and a bajillion times better. read more

This hotel is strictly getting two stars for its appearance. Otherwise it was a huge disappointment. We woke up to an enormous roach in our bathroom, picture to follow. The maid came in and picked it up with a napkin and proceeded to tell us it was nothing. When we checked out we let them know about the roach and were told "sometimes you can't help it". We woke up at 1:30 in the morning to a stream of water flowing down from the ceiling and soaking the bed we were sleeping in. We had to pack up all of our things, wake up our son and move in the middle of the night to another room. The hotel didn't seem to care and begrudgingly offered us 20% off of our stay for only that night. Accidents happen but given that we were never able to get a full night's sleep [which is really what you are paying for] they should have not charged us for that night [we stayed multiple nights]. We are not picky guests. There were many things wrong with our initial room that we chalked up to staying in a more boutique hotel, but given that the water was most likely from an overflowing toilet above us, and the hotel's complete lack of caring, we can not recommend staying here. Additionally, there seemed to be an absence of security [front door was never locked at night] and my wife, who travles often for work, said she would not feel confident staying here on her own. read more

This hotel was one of the beat ones I have ever stayed at in New York. The entire staff was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. Our room was huge and very comfortable. We had the family room and it was nice to have so much space. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. The decor was very tasteful and not overdone. It was simple and functional. This hotel is very centrally likes to china town and little Italy. There is a deli just one block over for the amazing bagel breakfast sandwich. The subway is about a two minute walk away from the hotel. I can't imagine staying anywhere else from now on. There is a bar downstairs that you will get some of the beat drinks you could imagine. Don't settle for a quick pint, let the mixologist have some fun. read more

Do NOT stay in Sohotel! The management are dishonest and have refused to reimburse my unsuspecting son's credit card for doublecharging him $228.47 on NYC Sales and State Tax and a $20 daily charge for a 10-day stay I booked with them on British Airways. My British Airways confirmation clearly stated that the £2,347.90 I paid upfront "included taxes, fees, and charges unless otherwise stated". Yet Sohotel charged my unsuspecting $228.47 more than they should have. They first offered me a $200 voucher as a "goodwill gesture", which I refused. Sohotel then claimed that British Airways booked through Expedia and sent an expedia snapshot that taxes and service charges were not included. Yet the expedia snapshot they sent me here was a generic one that did not include my family members' names or the dates of stay. I was in a pinch because of the storm and hotels were drying up fast. I looked on Priceline and came up with this place and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located right on the Little Italy/ Chinatown border and its close to the B,D and 6 trains (to name a few) so it's easy to get around town. The Randolph on Broome is a good bar and a few doors down. Little Italy and Chinatown restaurants are just a block or two away so plenty of places to eat and drink. It's a good location. The hotel was clean. Because of this 'bed bug ' paranoia out there I checked closely and it was free of those little nuisances. I had the Regency Room and it was clean and made up nicely but it was tight. If you are two adults staying for a few days and plan on spending a lot of time in the room you are going to be bumping into each other. If you're a tourist or in town and looking for a place to check your bags an flop it is more than fine. There was coffee in the lobby in the morning and they really try to do the right thing. The front desk people and bell hop are professional and know the area. This place works but it depends on what your after. I have no problem staying here again. read more

You can tell it was new/in renovation. Missing floor tiles by the front desk/shady un-finished rooms and hallways...room was decent but bathroom was super tiny and nothing like the picture on the website. TV/cable service was in and out. Staff was very nice (a little under-staffed towards 9pm however). For one night, at the price we got it for...it did its job. read more
