This restaurant is on the upper floor and now down with the other shops and restaurants. Once we found it we were pleasantly surprised with the beautiful decor. They asked if we had a reservation and also we didn't, they set up a table and we were seated in 5 minutes. The place has an open kitchen design and you can feel how hard working the kitchen staff is to get orders completed. We started with the fresh rolls and the chicky chicky peanut. The ingredients in the rolls were very fresh and was one of our favorites. The CCP was just ok. We ordered the crab fried rice, pad thai, red curry. Bothe the rice and noodles exceeded our expectations. The food is less sweet than some Thai places in a good way. We ended the meal with the mango sticky rice. Very well done. Recently visited this Thai restaurant in Kirkland and really enjoyed it. The ambiance is great, super sweet people, prompt service and great food. It's in the heart of Kirkland and has nice vibes. Food quality ranges quite a bit depending on what you order. This is a place where you could have an amazing time or a disappointing one based on what you point at on the menu. Prices are pretty high, so the inconsistent quality is a bit unfortunate. They do validate parking by the door though and free parking is always a win. Lamb Shank Massaman (4.25/5): Super tender lamb without any gaminess and the curry is uber savory with a bit of sweetness. Definitely a heavy dish and. The weakest link was the roti - it just ended up eating greasy on greasy. Would recommend ordering extra rice to soak up the curry! Crispy Pork Belly (2/5): Most pieces were crispy, but the leaner parts ended up overcooked to a dry and stringy texture. Try another appetizer for sure. Mango Sticky Rice (3.75/5): Mango itself was really sweet and delicious, but wayyyyy too much coconut cream on everything which overwhelmed the other flavors on the plate. Crispy Garlic Chicken (4/5): Sauce is a banger: sweet and tangy with a ton of garlic flavor. The fried basil leaves were a nice touch, but I wanted the chicken itself to hold up a bit more in crunch. There is a lot of excellent Thai food in the greater Seattle area, but I think that this is my new favorite spot. The pad thai was so flavorful and I had the guava cocktail which was fresh and delicious. The pork belly was melt in your mouth and the spring rolls were perfectly crispy. They say that it can take a long time for the food to come out of the kitchen, but it came in an appropriate time in my opinion and our service was stellar. Let's talk about SOI! I was really excited to try this place because I love Thai food! We came here for a birthday party and we had 21 people! They were very accommodating with our big party. Everything was very tasty. I can see why this is one of the go to places in Kirkland for Thai food. I order the beef salad and the wings. Both were tasty. We also got the Papaya salad phad Thai. The phad Thai was tasty. However, the papaya salad need more flavor. The Thai iced teas delicious but the winner of the night was the lychee martinis! So good! I've been wanting to try here for a while. There are tons of Thai places in WA but this is one of my new favs. Came on a weekday for lunch and it was empty when we were seated. However it got busier as it got later. Service is so friendly and quick. I got the crispy rice salad, my friend got the Thai fried rice, and we shared crab rangoons. They have lunch specials and a happy hour. I definitely will be back. Everything was delicious but I actually preferred my friend's fried rice, but would order everything again. The food was good not great. We thought that it had a bit of a funny taste, but must just be cooked with some traditional spices or sauces. Just tried this spot with my before Christmas Eve. My relatives who live here frequent this place! We absolutely loved the drunken noodles, red curry, and fried calamari! This is our go to Thai restaurant in the Kirkland Bellevue area! The interior is decorated very nicely and the food is super good with large portions and reasonable prices! Only downside I would mention is they seem to usually have a smaller staff and it can sometimes take a while to be seated and get your food, not saying this is their fault; just something to be aware of. Love trying new Thai places in the area - SOI is w wonderful addition to Kirkland Urban. The food can out so fast and was piping hot. They do spice scale on 1-3 and the 2 was pretty spicy. The soup was excellent and filed with mushrooms and tofu. Portions are quite big as well. The service was fine - I felt like the server was a bit judgy and condescending after my friend said the food was too spicy for her. But otherwise a great place to hangout and grab some grub, I'd come back! The restaurant is located on the second floor next to Google offices. Best way is to get out of the parking lot on the first floor and take the escalator up. Parking is free for 4 hours with validation and the restaurant validates. Pro tip: ask for the spice rack and add a bit of the pickled Serrano vinegar if you like it more sour. It took the broth to another level. Rad Na - 5/5 Honestly fantastic. Perfectly balanced sauce, tender beef, and the veggies had a nice crunch. I'd come back just for this dish. Calamari - 3/5 Crispy and not overly greasy, but nothing mind-blowing. Good starter, but I'd probably try something else next time. Drinks were solid, and the bar setup is gorgeous if you're into cocktails. Overall, a great go-to for Thai cravings in the area. Tried this place for the first time! I'm a longtime Kirkland resident and didn't know this place existed and am so happy I found it! The google map directions were a little off, sending me to a nearby building, but I finally found it on the second level of the Kirkland urban plaza. It is so cute and cozy inside. We were greeted immediately and given a heads up our food would take about 30 minutes to come out due to two large parties. We had the time and appreciated the heads up! The food was awesome! Food menu has the usual Thai fare like noodles, curries, salads etc. Also has quite a few cocktail selections from the bar. The restaurant validates garage parking for up to 4 hours. I ordered the duck curry, and got it with a bowl of white rice (can also choose brown rice). The curry includes three sizable pieces of crispy duck. I think this is the most amount of duck I've gotten from a Thai restaurant. Most other places only include a leg quarter. Nice crispy skin, and still soft and meaty in the middle. The curry was creamy, savoy and sweet, which some sweet peppers and pieces of pineapple. Good for eating with the rice. I got spice level 2 out 3, which had some heat on the first few bites but then I don't notice it anymore. I was with a big party and the food was served pretty quickly after the orders were in. Overall the meal was delicious and filling. Price was $27 before tax and tip, which is not bad given the amount of duck that was included in the curry. Super disappointed with my experience here. We visited as a group of 5 for a celebration around 7:30 PM. While the initial interaction was kind, our server offered a high chair for our 2-year-old. I mentioned that we couldn't eat spicy food, and he recommended mild, telling us it would be fine. It wasn't--it was actually really spicy on all dishes. I tried to order another non-spicy dish, but the servers ignored us for so long and didn't come to our table until the very last minute. When a server finally came over, she told me the kitchen was closing. Luckily, she still let us place the order right before it shut down completely. We shouldn't have been ignored and pushed to the last second just to get additional food. I understand that most restaurants would automatically charge a 20% gratuity for a party of 5. It feels like a total scam to mandate a 20% tip when the staff completely ignore customers' concerns, give bad recommendations, ignore the table, and leave you stranded until the kitchen closes. Came for my birthday dinner and to try dishes since I was planning on renting out their private patio for my mom's birthday. Our experience dining in was great, we were seated promptly even without a reservation on a busy night. Service was quick and the server, who seemed like the owner, was so lovely! Of all the dishes we ordered, my favorites were the papaya salad and crab fried rice. The papaya salad, Isarn style, was probably the BEST papaya salad I've ever had! Be warned that it is quite pungent and fishy, but so much umami. The other dishes were okay but not amazing. Cocktails were delicious though, and I love that they really try to incorporate Thai flavors as much as possible. They don't have dessert on a menu but we got 2/3 options, mango sticky rice and pandan custard with Chinese donuts. They were so kind to put a candle in the sticky rice and even sing to happy birthday to me! Obviously they're in a busy plaza so they'll stay busy, and I can foresee myself craving that papaya salad so I can't wait to come back! The service was slow even when the restaurant was empty. I had to flag someone down to order. Eventually half our order was wrong, needed to be remade, and was not delivered until 2 hours later since apparently the kitchen was backed up. They kindly comped the orders. Food was hit or miss, would've been 4 but rounding down to 3 because of the painfully painfully slow service. Awesome! - Nice to MEAT you, SOI ($30) - 5 stars: Tender soy grilled wagyu, sticky rice, tangy lime sauce that I wanted to drink. Would come back for this one! - Crispy Rice Salad ($16) - 5 stars: So delicious, would come back for this and to try other salads! It was tangy, crispy, fresh, surprising, delicious. - Garden Roll Tofu ($11) - 4.5 stars: 6 generous pieces. So fresh, delicate, fluffy, and the green sauce that came with it was so delicious. I have been here twice now and it is an alright place but not great. Most recently I had the salmon panang curry - the plating was beautiful and the curry was delicious. But the steamed veggies were a let down, it would be much better if they pan fried the veggies instead. The biggest initial hurdle was finding the entrance as there's not a lot of signage, so I was lucky to bump into a coworker who knew the way. Once inside, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a nice spot to unwind. Service was attentive and friendly, which made a good impression. The food was solid but not mind-blowing. It was satisfying enough for a casual group lunch. They have a parking garage available, which is a plus, but it's not obvious that it's free for retail visitors. Passed this restaurant over a dozen times on the way to and from work, but finally decided to try it during holiday season! We came at 11:30 on a Wednesday and there was plenty of seating available. The server was very quick and incredibly helpful- I especially liked the way he described the level of spiciness ("hot but not quite hot enough to make your nose run", which is a very specific and useful metric of spice). I ordered a seasonal dish and it tasted excellent and mild like I asked for! It also had a lot of seafood. I'd be back for their other dishes too- the portions are pretty generous and the food is great. Happened to walk by this restaurant and wanted to give it a try! Got the Fried Tofu with Coconut and the Red Curry with Tofu and both were absolutely delicious! The fried Tofu with Coconut was lightly sweet and crispy, was very tasty. The spices and flavors in the curry were perfect (got a 2 star) and was enough food to share between 2 people.
