I've been to this plaza quite a few times and haven't had a chance to check them out until recently. If you are ever getting your car serviced at Auto Mall, this is a quick walk over. When we arrived, we were told to choose any table. The restaurant was fairly empty and there were a decent amount of seats. It's a cute set up with sake barrels displayed and the utensils on the table like a typical ramen shop. We ordered champon ramen combo with okonomiyaki and a chicken karaage bowl. The champon ramen was unique because its usually a korean dish, but not bad. I think it would've been better if the noodles were thicker. The okonomiyaki was also pretty good! We would love to have seen it with a noodle option since they are a ramen shop. The chicken karaage came hot and crispy. The service overall was pretty quick. They came by with water as soon as we sat down and told us about their ordering system. Once we ordered the food came by pretty quickly as well. Definitely will be back.

This is quite a quiet place to go to on a Saturday. I mean there weren't many people when I got here. I wasn't expecting only a couple of customers here. The ambiance is really nice with all of their decorations. I'm hoping that most ramen places are like this. They have us order via QR code, but that wasn't the only time that we have to use QR. They also allow us to gain access to their WiFi through QR as well. I also like how quiet the service is since it does not pressure the staff to come back and forth with ordering. I wanted to get the Chicken Katsu Ramen because it seems to stand out compared to the rest of the ramen I looked at. It's good that they separate the Katsu from the ramen since some of us don't want the soup to soak it. It's really crunchy to be honest and the chili oil blends well with the broth. Mixing both actually gives a great touch.

Overall rating: 4/5 I came around 7pm with a friend on a Wednesday night and it wasn't too crowded. The interior was clean and simple with mildly dim lighting. Compared to other ramen places, you will find many interesting and unique takes of ramen to choose from on Sojo's menu (tom yum, mala tonkotsu, mentaiko tonkotsu, wasabi shoyu, habanero chili lime - to name a few). You are given an order form where you can choose your add-ons and customize the ramen to your liking from size of noodle to spice level. I ordered: -Mala tonkotsu (4/5): the broth was rich and creamy and the noodles had a good chew. However, I couldn't really taste much of the Mala flavor. The servers were all friendly and attentive and our orders came out pretty fast. As this place is located in Pacific Commons, there's plenty of parking in the parking lot. Would I come back? Yes, I would like to try their other ramen Would I recommend this place? Yes, but maybe only if you're around the area

Got the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen with regular noodles. The dominant flavor in the broth was the black garlic with hint of bitterness. Could not taste the base pork flavor at all. The noodles came with generous portion and was soft without the springy texture. Ramen came with 3 good size chashi pork. Chashu was good. The half egg had a jelly yolk and was also good with slight sweetness to it. The Sukiyaki bowl was one of the best I've had. I only got the the side size portion. Wished I got the full size entree. Meat was sweet with ginger and onion flavor. The thin slices of meat was soft with good fat to meat ratio.. caramelizes onions accompanied the meat. The Sukiyaki meat sits on top of perfectly cooked rice. The Takoyaki was not fishy. And was not mushy..it was cooked throughout including the center vs the runny versions I've tried before. Prices were comparable to other ramen places. I like the you can get a small portion of their rice bowls as side dish to your ramen for around $5.

My wife and I chose Sojo ramen having seen many people wondering around this shop for lunch. The inside is nice and dark. We sat down and started ordering from their menu. Once I saw how the menu is printed, man, can't they do better job on pictures in the menu? It definitely doesn't look professionally made and the way the ramens were listed were a little off. Both my wife and I were a little concerned as to how the food would go. Would it reflect the callousness of the menu? We both ordered the black garlic ramen. And... The ramen was to our surprise extremely well prepared. The broth was thick and the soup has a heavy garlic base to it. This was probably one of the BEST ramen in Fremont I've had. As a lover of ramen myself, the broth is everything. Unfortunately, a lot of ramen shops in the area uses similar broth base universally made. It won't make it taste bad, but there's nothing special about the broth either. It definitely felt that the owner and the cooks of Sojo Ramen took the time to fine tune the broth and it shows once you eat the ramen. I give it: 5/5 We got a side of okonomiyaki, that was okay. 4/5 The food took a while but it was worth it. We will be back.....but that menu though...just take some new pictures, like good ones....please?

This place is such a hidden gem, I'm surprised I haven't heard about it as much because this is seriously the best ramen I've had in the Bay Area. The ramen was so packed, delicious, and extremely flavorful. You get to choose your noodle type, spice level, and if you'd like any other add-ons. Ordering was contactless but even the service was still extremely kind. The chicken karaage was juicy and tender, and the sauce that came with it was like a lemon aioli that definitely kicked the appetizer up a knotch. We also had the chashu fries -- which were dried chashu shavings sprinkled on some fries with a bit of fried pork bits on top. Also a great appetizer but I was so full at this point I couldn't finish them. Compliments to the chef. You can also turn the appetizers into a combo for a little discount which we really appreciated! For two appetizers and two bowls of ramen, the price was EXTREMELY worth it! Please come here, this place deserves more business.

This is a good spot if you want to get your Ramen fix! My friend and I visited on a slightly rainy day and it just hit the spot! It was relatively empty late afternoon on a weekday. Slowly got busy around dinner time. I also visited a second time with my bf on a weekend- noon time, not busy at all! What I like about this place is you can create your own Ramen bowl or you can choose from the pre-set menu. I opted for Tonkatsu for my base, rice noodles, no extra seasoning, LIGHT salt, extra cilantro/green onion. By default, it already comes with pork chasu, egg, seaweed, and mushrooms. I thought the bowl was delicious and my favorite part of it is that you get the option to choose how salty you want it, being someone who doesn't really like too much salt in my food and of course, ramen is more on the saltier side of things I loved having that option. I really thought the broth was rich and flavorful. I also enjoyed the thinner slices of chasu. My bestie got Mentaiko Tonkatsu and she devoured her bowl. My bf got the Karaage Curry Ramen and it was delicious! It has a good kick to it and it's super filling. We also got Gyoza and Takoyaki for small plates. All in all, you can't go wrong with this spot if you're looking for ramen. Nice service, quiet ambiance, good food! I'd come back again

Amazing variety of ramen. We got the black garlic, buddae-jjigae, and tom yum and they were all hearty and filling. Food, price, and quantity was very worth it. Definitely recommend coming here if craving some ramen

This place is under new management and the food is better than before! If you find yourself hungry around Pacific Commons go warm up and reward yourself with a nice bowl of ramen. SOJO Ramen has rich, thick broths and delicious small plates (particularly the Furikake Fries). If you're counting your calories or worried about carbs, they now have tofu ramen noodles! I thought it sounded gross, but I tried them, and they actually tasted like regular noodles! * Spicy Miso Ramen * Furikake Fries * Nasu Miso * Beef Sukiyaki Bowl

Chicken Karaage, Katsu Curry Bowl, Bronze Broccoli (GF/V)
    Liz C.

Pork katsu curry rice - yummy. Katsu was super tender. Pork was delicious cuz it wasn't too lean and wasn't dry. Wish curry was a larger quantity and more flavorful. Karaage - not consistent. Skip. Some pieces were juicy while others were overcooked and dry. Broccoli - delicious! Lightly fried and with a delicious tangy sauce. Ramen - We didn't get ramen cuz we weren't in a ramen mood.

    Tiffany L.

Not bad for a ramen place , I enjoyed the ramen . Personally I think it's a little small portion compared to other ramen places. We came to get the Bogo deal but the server seems a bit dismay. We didn't make the rules. But overall will come back again if in the area.

    Chashu fries

Came here dinner on during Fremont's Restaurant Week because they were offering a "buy one ramen, get a small plate free" deal! I think they offer this same deal during their weekday happy hour. The ramens were flavorful and the texture of the noodles was good. You can definitely taste a different between the 2 soup bases. I was a bit sad that my egg was a bit overcooked. The chicken karaage was a let down. I've ordered it before and it was good the first time around but this time it was too chewy and hard to bite through the batter. While loaded, the toppings on the chashu fries kept falling off the fries and landing on the table. The fries were also soggy from the cheese/sauce. Our servers were great though, super welcoming & attentive.

The service is great here!! We stopped by on a Friday evening and the inside is a little small but a decent size in my opinion, nice and cozy. I love how you can customize your ramen exactly how you like it, salt levels/spice levels and all. I got the Budae-Jjigae which was a little bit too much cause of the cheese, the sauce was too thick for my liking. The Spicy Miso on the other hand was perfect and we loved it! Their chicken karaage was a yummy appetizer! Their Katsu curry was packed with so much flavor!! If you're into curries and pork, you will like this option.

Happy hour, no more but they gave it to me anyway when I asked for it. Nice of them. Outdoor seating, hmmm. I can’t remember

What's on the happy hour menu?

Raman's are still the same price. The only differences are the appetizers. They are $3 during happy hour. I believe regular price is $5. Hope this helps!

Overall, Hinodeya is a good place for solid ramen. The chicken karaage was okay, although it would've been nice to have a spicy mayo sauce or something to accompany it. The matcha salt was different, but didn't really add much to the dish for us.

Here's what we got: FRIED OYSTERS (5) - $12 This was not one of the appetizer options to the lunch specials but sis really needed her fried oysters, haha. This comes with a side of creamy sauce that tasted like a yummy potato salad. It was awesome! The fried oysters were very hot to be careful, and it was very much enjoyed even though it scraped the roof of my mouth, haha. TONKOTSU RAMEN - $16.95 Tonkotsu (Pork Broth) chashu pork, green onion, yellow onion, soft boiled egg, fried green onion, kikurage mushroom. I'm happy that we get a WHOLE egg and not just half! It is very delicious, but if you've had regular tonkotsu ramen before, I highly recommend trying the Kuro or Aka! 5/5 - Kuro Tonkotsu Ramen - The black garlic oil really enhances the tonkotsu flavor in a smoky, umami way. If you haven't tried a black garlic oil broth, I highly recommend you try it here! You will not be disappointed. 5/5 - Aka Tonkotsu Ramen - My personal favorite of the ramen bowls we all tried here. The spicy level can be adjusted and was exactly the spice level we thought it would be (we chose Level 2). The flavor is a bit more elevated than the regular tonkotsu ramen, likely from the spice that you should not find too overwhelming. 5/5 - Chashu Don (Appetizer) - The rice and chashu makes this its own little meal and is super savory and filling...as an appetizer! This is great to share with your party, and it seems to taste differently from the chashu you get in your ramen. You won't regret trying this! 5/5 - Chicken Karaage (Appetizer) - The chicken in this dish was very juicy, and the portions were huge! The sauce they give also compliments this well. Upon my arrival the kind host greeted me immediately and allowed me to take a seat. I was unsure of what to order and I had asked the host what to get and he positioned for me to try the coconut miso ramen and lemme tell you it was honestly one of the best bowls of ramen I've had. The broth was incredibly rich and velvety, with the coconut adding a subtle natural sweetness that complemented the deep umami of the miso instead of overpowering it. It created a balanced, layered flavor that was both comforting and surprisingly refined. Every spoonful had depth, and the broth was so good that I found myself wanting to finish every last drop. The noodles had an excellent texture, firm with just the right amount of chew--allowing them to hold onto the broth beautifully. The toppings were fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and blended seamlessly with the overall dish, adding texture and flavor without distracting from the star of the bowl. What impressed me most was how harmonious everything tasted. Fusion flavors can sometimes feel forced, but this ramen was exceptionally well executed. The coconut and miso worked together to create something unique while still respecting the traditional character of ramen. If you're looking for a bowl that's comforting, flavorful, and a little different from the usual tonkotsu or shoyu, I can't recommend the Coconut Miso Ramen at Tadamasa highly enough.
