NEEDS HYGIENE IMPROVEMENT, overall a nice place , great staff The pedicure basins are lined, but the water pump hangs there uncovered, which could very easily transmit bacteria. They place the tools on floor in between chairs/clients, instead of a towel or other clean surface. They also double dip the nail polish remover when completed, also unsanitary. Pedicures would be better if the they had automatic fans (not a couple of manual waves) and if the chairs had back support. read more

My nails were in desperate need of attention. I had travelled and worked hard with my hands. The less than stellar manicure that I had had four days prior had taken a beating. Tragic. Being well groomed and dressed is a form of good manners and respect. I had to look the part from head to toe for an upcoming presentation. The salon was a 7-minute walk from my hotel. I call less than two hours before close of business. My predicament: this was the only window of time I had to get my nails done. Rick was kind enough to work me into the schedule even though they were fully booked. Rick thoughtfully made a recommendation on which of the three nail services to chose based on the fact that I also had an appointment immediately after. My nails could be done in less than 30-45-minutes. I planned on hour. I arrived a few minutes past my appointment due to a traffic accident. Rick was very understanding and accommodating. I appreciate that I could wash my hands upon arrival. I sat in Rachel's chair after checking in. If Rick had not already notified her, she could tell I was in a hurry, big rush. She nonetheless courteously paused to offer a selection of drinks. No worries; she assured me that my nails would be done in a timely manner. I have very sensitive nail beds and never allow the use of a drill bit to remove shellack from my nails. I understand that it takes longer and, without being asked, pay for the additional time it usually takes. What feels like searing heat from the drill bit, combined with the discomfort of vibration makes the pain unbearable. Before I could tell Rachel why a drill could not be used on my nails, and that the gel instead needed to be soaked and sloughed off, she had already begun the process of clean drilling. Much to my surprise, I could not feel any radiating heat. She was so gentle and the vibrations mild. I nervously examined my nails once everything was removed fearing the worse. She had managed to removed the gel meticulously, efficiently, quickly, AND without adding to the damage inflicted by another nail tech in another state. She is incredibly gentle! My nails at that point were already looking better than the condition in which I walked-in with them. They had not even been painted yet. I would have walked out happy had that been all she could do in such a short time frame. My nails are awkwardly shaped and so is the nail structure. I am usually very particular as to how they are filed and shaped. She listened and got them pretty close to where I wanted them to be after I shared my idiosyncrasies. If she was frustrated that I was telling her how to do her job, she did not show it. She was very gracious, a consummate professional. I walked out of there not feeling like any corners being cut because I was in such a rush. It's day two and I my nails look fantastic. Less than a week ago at the last place I got my nails done, the shellack from my thumb nail fell of after my shower the same evening. They continued to crack, chip and peel until I got to this salon. I had paid twice as much for that botched job than I paid for great service and a job well done at Sojourn De Nail. It's day two and happy as a lark I am leaving a review. This salon would become my nail salon of choice if I lived in Houston. Thank you Rachel for taking such great care of me, my nails! You were merely doing your job -- all in a days work -- but to me you made a huge difference. Hopefully the people who complimented me, who live in Houston, and to who I recommended you will be coming your way soon. You come highly recommended. ps/ I was in too much of a rush to really take in the environment. I wish I had had more time to get the full experience. I enjoyed the atmosphere and brief experience I had. If you are expecting a massage chair, this is not the place. It's relaxed, unpretentious, down to earth and yet unassumingly upscale. In lieu of a massage chair, I think you can request to have a human-being massage you as part of one of the service packages. Double check before you go; I am not completely certain of that. I am constantly working so I am not much of a chatter bug when getting my nails done, or would rather quiet my mind when not working. Rachel I think recognized my being reserved and it did not feel awkward that I did not engage in lengthy conversation. The salon is presentable, clean and professional. You are made to feel welcomed. She was just a pleasure, I love how attentive and professional she was. I love getting stiletto nails and I always have a hard time finding a nail technician to make them sharp the way I like. I mentioned in my previous review that i was cut during my manicure/pedicure. I am glad that the lady has 18 years of experience, but I have no intention in making any false allegations. She was cleaning my nails and her tool slipped from her hand and cut my heel. She didn't even offer to put alcohol, not even mentioning any discount. The tech was not applying 10 different color acrylic set on my hands, but only 5. I did show him the design of the nails I want and I paid the price for it. All I said in my first review is that the quality was not at the level I was expecting from a place like this. You mentioned that the chairs were chosen after testing 20 different ones. No doubt your place is beautiful, it's not about that. You can have an ugly place with the best technicians in town. I wrote my review to help you improve your business and in no way to damage it. You have got a great location and need to either train your specialists or find better ones. Here is what you mentioned to me : "The managing partner who was at the front desk recalls that you were very agitated during your entire treatment, not only because of the crying baby, but because the restaurant that you booked for your birthday was refusing to accommodate an increase in your parties size." First of all what I speak on the phone should not be a concern of your workers. Second of all I was agitated, because the moment I walked in I showed a picture of my desired nails and your experienced technician still could not figured out what needs to get done and got me a low quality manicure. After my last nail salon disaster ( see previous review) I was on my way to doing my nails myself, just like during the pandemic. But thanks to a recommendation ( Thank you Venus T). I decided to come here. 1st, reservations are required ( and honored at the appointed time) and even confirmed via text. You will be required-to hold your spot with a credit card (but it's not charged until after your services). The greeting upon walking in was very welcoming. Mask and washing your hands immediately is required. They confirmed the services I wanted. Walked me over to the color books then led me to my pedicure chair. No giant spa chairs, but a comfortable arm chair with pillows. My technician(s) pedicure and fill worked seamlessly together. Offered beverages and took there time with my hands and feet. Because they took special care- I remember the doing all the things that were listed in the pedicure, from the hot stones, hot towel, scrub, and the massage in which he gave me a option to choose my massage oil. They are priced a bit higher than most places but I felt good leaving out about my services, the experience and what I spent. ( I appreciate them telling me the cost of something before they proceeded. Off street meter parking. I believe there's a garage as well. read more

You get what you pay for. The ambiance, quality of service, and premium products totally justify how pricey some of the services are. They also offer complimentary wine, sparkling water, and soft drinks. Everyone is so incredibly friendly! Viva (my nail tech) is the sweetest. I'm pretty finicky about the shape of my nails and Viva was more than happy make any and every change that I asked for. One thing that really stuck with me was the fact that at the end of our appointment, she sincerely thanked me for telling her exactly what I wanted. This is totally different than experiences I've had with other nail techs.. They tend to frustrate easily if you ask them to fix any imperfections. Soon after leaving the salon, I found that a towel fiber was embedded in my dried polish. I was hesitant to call because I hate to complain, but when I did, the gentleman I spoke with (one of the owners) was so kind and insisted that I stop by so they could fix it. I was excited to try this place out a few weeks ago, but left slightly disappointed. I came in for almond-shaped acrylic nails. Pros: This place looks very nice, the decor and furniture placement feels high-class. I was immediately offered a large drink selection upon arrival, which was great. The staff and nail techs were all very nice and sweet. The actual type of acrylic and formulas they use are high quality. When my nails grew out, the nail beds didn't lift, which was nice. Cons: There is very few parking spots in the garage. The nail shaping was indeed almond, but the nails had incredibly bulb-like beds because the tech was working with very liquidy acrylic and was not keeping up the sides and bottom, instead let the acrylic build there. I was cut and nicked about 6 times, none of them serious, but just a pain to deal with. Prices are very expensive for the end result. Honestly, if you are going in for a normal mani-pedi without the nail-shaping, this place would be a great experience with great results. If you want acrylics that require more attention and detail, the end product is all that really matters and I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I've found my happy place! This nail salon is super cute and I love the cozy vibe it gives off unlike a lot of other nail salons. They offer top notch products (so many super cute essie & OPI colors!!!)but more importantly, top notch service. Did I mention that they have the most COMFORTABLE chairs? You just sink right in and fall right to sleep. Amazzzzing. The nail techs are also super attentive to detail and the owners really make sure you feel like you're being taken care of. I just recently moved to Houston and was looking for a nail salon near my office. Sojourn did not disappoint! I was looking for a salon without tvs where I could actually have a relaxing experience (and not worry about contracting any infectious skin disease). This salon was beautiful, sparkling clean, and so relaxing I fell asleep during my pedicure. I got the classic pedicure and it included hot stones and a neck massage. Annie did my pedicure and did a fabulous job! My toes look great and she actually gave a real massage. The pedicure chairs are also so comfortable; it almost feels like you're in bed. Vu did my dip nails, and they look wonderful. When I asked him to do my nails in the same shape as they currently were, he did just that. I always find it frustrating that most technicians cannot simply replicate the shape I already have and prefer, but Vu did it with no problem. He was meticulous and made sure I left with beautiful nails. Everyone I interacted with at the salon was kind and accommodating. My only wish is that they had more dip colors! Not only did Kim and Vu listen to what kind of style I wanted but they also helped me match colors for the ombré as closely as possible. Vu took his time to shape my nails and was trying his best to make the removal of my previous nails as painless as possible. I've been to places where they rush and cause me a lot of pain upon removal but he took precaution on my thinnest nail and I thank him for that!
