Arranged a post book launch event here, and was blown away by Shawn and the team. From the first contact to arriving Shawn was great, offering options and being flexible, he really made the whole thing superb and easy. We had the side bar area, which was perfect, a great private space with sitting and standing, ideal for an event. Shawn and the team put together a custom cocktail named in honour of the book and author, a beautifully personal touch. We ordered a selection of food and it was all delicious and interesting. I hosted my dog's birthday party here and I genuinely don't think any place could've done it better. From the second we walked in, the staff treated my pup like the guest of honor. The absolute highlight: milk bone ice cubes. Yes. Ice cubes for the doggos (and for the humans if you're brave enough). Thoughtful, creative, and such a perfect touch that made the day feel extra special. It's rare to find a restaurant that not only allows dogs, but truly embraces them and makes you feel celebrated. I've never had a bad experience here except for today. I was craving the squid ink pasta so I stopped by. They were very busy but I was waiting for over 7 minutes standing at the host stand with no acknowledgement whatsoever. So I went to the bar to talk to anyone and asked if someone could seat me/check me in because I was waiting for over 7 minutes. The bartender said I would have to wait, while a server said to me "as you can see we're very busy so you're gonna have to wait" with an attitude. I was turned off by her tone of voice and the fact that no one came up to me even to say "hey we'll get to you soon". I have worked at a restaurant before so I know what it's like to be busy, but you can still acknowledge my presence. read more

We came here twice and both times it was a good time. The first time we came was just a girls brunch, we made reservations online and got the unlimited mimosas and we were there for hours. After our 90min mimosa time ended we just ordered some wine and kept going. The place wasn't too busy as it was a Sunday morning so they allowed us to stay extra time as long as we kept ordering. Our server was super awesome and we just stayed the whole time. We ate a bunch of appetizers and I had the eggs Benedict with potato's and the food was exceptional. The second time we came it was a large party so we got the big room in the back. They were very accommodating to our party and it just felt nice to have a private room to ourselves. This time i ordered the egg and cheese which was also delicious and we had some desserts (strawberry cheesecake and brownies) it was all wonderful and I can't wait to come back. read more

Stopped here for dinner after a nice walk through Central Park. On a Saturday at 5p this place was vibing! Plenty of seating options: Patio, bar and chill garden seating were available. We were a party of 5 with a 5 year old and after a 10 minute wait we were seated in the quiet garden area. Server was attentive and friendly. Food and drinks were good. This is just one of those places that you should bring either a big group, or on a date, and you will have a good time. We came here for dinner on a Thursday night. The place was packed. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful holiday themed decor, everything looked cozy and festive. The menu has a good selection of dishes that include a variety of pastas, meats, burgers and appetizers. We started out with the seared octopus and mezze dip trio. The herb vinaigrette served with the octopus was delicious. I ended up soaking the pita in the vinaigrette since we did not want it to go to waste. The octopus was good but underseasoned. The under seasoning was a recurring issue. I ordered the grilled skirt steak with the scallion fried rice. The meat was cooked perfectly medium rare. The presentation was very good but it was also very under seasoned. It was as though they just added the bare minimum of seasoning to the food as it was prepared. I never like to do this but we actually asked for salt and after adding, it greatly enhanced the flavor of the meat. We ended our dinner with a delicious cheesecake. The service was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely return and try out more from the menu. read more

I don't know why this place is so expensive, the food is not that great, the bar is not that great and the ambiance is not that great. There's outdoor seating in the front but all the tables are unbalanced I think the sidewalk slopes, there's a garden in the back but it's full of rats and mice. Truly not worth the prices. read more

Hadn't gone for a while. Near certainly cooking the burger from frozen. It was a perfect edge shape. It took a long time to cook and was dry as could be. The add ginger to the ketchup (never told until it's too late, no alternative offered). $11 pints are a little much for the neighborhood. Super cute outside, so many options for drinks! DC spritz is the best I tried, also tried life of a spritzgirl. I didn't love either but DC was wayyy better. The servers and host were all RIDICULOUSLY kind and patient, despite there being so many tables to cater to! Also had the 22$ burger and drink combo, was yummy but very small for what it was. The fries were so good and during happy hour they are 7$ and come with ketchup and an aioli type of sauce! Would recommend to come for the two for one drink happy hour with a group of friends, but don't expect the best drinks you've ever had! read more

I especially like how dog friendly this place is. This is why I brought my dog to dine in their outside patio. There's a front patio with several dining spots and the outdoor patio has covered dining in little mini private booths and tables about the backyard, multi-level spaces. There's string lights, fake greenery. It feels like you're someplace not in the middle of the city. I love love loved this spot. Service (5/5): They brought a Bark-cuterie for my dog and provided constant refills for her too! We were helped throughout the dining experience and waitress was super sweet when I asked her what the cola spritz was. When asked what the M&M shot was, she also kindly got me one even though I didn't order from the menu when my friend did! It was super sweet! Food (5/5): We came for their Thursday specials $10 aerprols: THERSy day for a girl dinner of coke aerprol, Caesar salad, and M&M shot. I decided to go for their summer special of a salmon on a bed of quinoa 'risotto' corn. The presentation was beautiful! I held it in the side bar room and worked with them on a custom menu of small bites, which were all amazing. We came on Sat evening after my daughter rec football game. Place was lively and busy. Service was a mixture .. reasonably quick to take our order but the food took a long time to arrive. .. When the food came, it was a little hit and miss. The truffle parm fries were great , the calamari was grest too, the rigatoni alla vodka was solid, the squid ink pasta was a little bland... they tossed in some of the calamari fritti the chicken tacos were not great .. the meat was dried and very bland. This is the second time I've had a bad experience at Sojourn. We waited for 20 minutes and a waiter never greeted us. Yes I get that you're busy but why sit someone down and not take their order. Found Sojourn when we were at the Met looking for a Happy hour. Absolutely did not expect what we got. It's a very chill, nicely decorated and awesome vibe of a venue. Out server, Margaret, had been working 3 weeks and was just phenomenal. Cannot praise her or the service highly enough. She was incredibly accommodating to all our questions and her amazing attitude and kindness is just increasingly rare to see. Their happy hour is excellent, with 2 for 1 cocktails that are actually well designed and delicious, not just a whiskey coke or something. Pretty much everything we ate as delicious. Really really good happy hour food menu, had the duck croquettes ( which were good but not awesome). But the fries, chicken meatball, sliders, all awesome.
