3.75* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 4* Value: 4* Service: 3* 07/23/2023 We have driven past this place many times and thought about stopping, but had usually already eaten and were driving home. This afternoon we had the chance and decided we'd give it a try over our old standby Hacienda Vieja just up the road a block. The thing that stood out the most was the lengthy food and bar menus (see pictures) - making it hard to make a decision on what to order. We started with drinks and that ended up being a little frustrating, possibly attributable to a language / communications challenge. We asked several times if they served Mezcal, since we love it and finally the server said he would go ask at the bar. He returned and said that they didn't serve Mezcal, so I ordered a Michelada instead. While walking to the bathroom I walked by the bar, so checked out the liquor behind the bar and saw a bottle of Mezcal, so pointed it out to our server who happened to be standing there (later seeing that they show at least 5 different kinds in their bar menu - see pictures). With that information, I asked our server to change my order to a Mezcal Paloma (see picture) and my wife got a Watermelon Basil Shaker (see picture). The Watermelon Basil Shaker was very good and there was a generous quantity served, although we didn't taste or see any basil in the drink. The complimentary chips and salsa (see picture) were average - they tasted good but were very typical / standard for what you get at many Mexican restaurants. For our meals, we ordered the Pollo Mango Street Tacos (see picture) and Ceviche Al Gusto Mixed (see picture). The Ceviche was very good and while we received standard chips instead of the plantain chips mentioned in the menu, we really enjoyed it. The Pollo Mango Tacos were a little bland to both of our tastes, as we each commented about it and looked for hot sauce to give it some kick, but otherwise were hot, moist and tender. Even though we were both very full from all of this food, I couldn't help myself once I saw Tres Leches and Limoncello Cakes on the menu. We asked the server for a recommendation between the two and he suggested the Tres Leches Cake, so we ordered it and asked him to put it in a container to go (see picture). Of course we did have to open it in the restaurant and have a couple of bites - it was delicious. A little on the sweet side, but very spongy, moist and flavorful - definitely a great addition to finish your meal! I truly believe you will enjoy your experience here. Everything about this place is warm and inviting. The building itself has a gentle and soft touch about it. The staff are always welcoming and genuinely kind. We've never not felt like we are appreciated for choosing to dine there. After all, going out to eat is just that. A choice. There are a lot of Mexican restaurants in Grimes truthfully, but none have even come close to our experience here. Not even remotely the same experience. Let's start basic. Drinks. Weather it's for the classic margarita, or something a step up like the shakers they are done well every time. Prices wise it's what you would expect, and yes they really do look like the menu pictures, fruit and all. Next up appetizers. This is such a hot topic. Everyone knows you need to start out a meal strong. This place has no disappointments here. We love the Sol Dip. The trio. The Bang Bang shrimp are absolutely my favorite thing on the menu. Try all of them.. mix it up and split it with your friends. They are all delicious. Now main courses. Don't be overwhelmed by the colorful and a bit lengthy menu. It's a lot to take in, but its worth taking the time. Also, staff is knowledgeable about whats on it. Have a question. Ask. Not sure what something is. Ask. They are happy to help. I believe the staff there our genuine in there approach to service. I personally love the seafood options. The flavors and seasoning is always just right. My husband loves the burritos. These things are HUGE and packed with all the good stuff. This place really is our favorite. There are so many choices out there. Pick this one. Every time.

Stopped here on our way home from a hike. It was amazing! We sat out on the patio and had the grapefruit Paloma and a berry mojito, both delicious. The bang bang shrimp was so tasty and the burrito was as big as my leg! The staff were so nice and the manager Ricardo even sat down and chatted with us. We will definitely be back next time we are in town

we went in on a Tuesday for lunch. we went straight to the patio, because it's so nice out. big patio, not much for shade though. server was pleasant, but a little slow to come around. he may have had tables inside. I got the almond crusted chicken strip salad....oh lordy was it good, with creamy parm dressing. my mom had the fish tacos and they looked great. we didn't go inside since it became Sol Agave. I would return for that salad and to try the fish tacos. I had plenty of salad leftover to take home.

Since Biaggi's was operating reservation-only for Valentine's Day, I didn't want to risk it. Smart move. When we arrived for our early lunch reservation, the place was almost completely empty - quiet, calm, and beautifully set up for what would clearly become a packed evening later. There was something really special about being there early. The white tablecloths were perfectly pressed, the fireplace was glowing, soft lighting filled the room, and the entire space felt intimate and relaxed. No noise. No crowd. Just that upscale Italian ambiance without the rush. We were seated immediately, and the service was attentive from the start. Water glasses filled. Warm bread delivered. Friendly but professional tone. There was zero stress in the air - which is rare for February 14th. Now let's talk about the Chicken Marsala. The presentation was elegant and clean. Golden-brown chicken cutlets layered in a rich Marsala wine sauce, surrounded by earthy mushrooms and caramelized onions. On the side were creamy mashed potatoes with a bright lemon wedge and fresh herbs sprinkled over top. Vibrant sautéed greens added color and balance to the plate. The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked - juicy inside with a light crust that held up beautifully in the sauce. The Marsala sauce itself was outstanding. Deep, slightly sweet, earthy, and glossy. Not too thick. Not too salty. Just balanced and layered with flavor. The mushrooms were plentiful and meaty, adding real substance rather than just garnish. The mashed potatoes were smooth and buttery, and they soaked up that sauce perfectly. A little squeeze of lemon brightened the whole dish and kept it from feeling heavy. The sautéed greens were fresh and lightly dressed - a perfect contrast to the richness of the Marsala. What impressed me most was the execution. Even though it was early and the restaurant was still quiet, the dish felt like it was prepared with full care and attention - not rushed, not pre-staged, not sitting under heat lamps. By the time we were finishing, you could tell they were preparing for the evening rush. Reservations were coming in, tables were being set with precision, and the staff clearly had a well-organized plan for the night. Choosing the early reservation at 11:30 AM turned out to be a hidden advantage. It felt like a private Valentine's lunch in a beautifully prepared restaurant before the evening energy took over. Biaggi's delivered not just good food, but a calm, elegant experience on a day when many places feel chaotic. The Chicken Marsala alone is worth returning for. We'll absolutely be back - maybe next time for dinner when the room is glowing with full Valentine's energy.

It's the kind of menu that makes you pause and wonder whether the experience will justify the cost. Another ongoing concern is the dinner rush: wait times can be long, and a call‑ahead or online waitlist option would make a huge difference. On my first visit I order a fish sandwich which was quite good. I did notice that the decor could use a good dusting. Again, not the wait staff's fault. When I walked in, the restaurant was nearly empty. One room off to the side was dark; it looks like this was a party room in a former life. I saw a solo diner in the main dining room. It was eerily quiet in there. An older lady (whom I believe also answered the phone) was very polite and seemed like she appreciated the business. I wish I could speak more highly of the food. The portions were all very generous, but most all seemed to be lacking in flavor. The breadsticks appear to have been brushed on top with some kind of butter, but no garlic flavor was present and the bottoms had gone untouched. Just bland. The salads I saw online appeared to have had croutons on them but mine did not. The dressing itself had good flavor--likely homemade. The salad was a basic side salad otherwise. The cavatelli was off in several different ways. The pasta appeared to be actual cavatelli, but lacked the firmness I'm used to. The sauce all seemed to have been on one side of the dish. The sausage was Italian sausage. Will probably try again at some point--other reviews seem to indicate better experiences.

There's a large parking lot adjacent to Tumea & Sons. The place was packed. We were greeted right away as we walked in and were told it would be a 30-40 min wait. We knew there were some smaller parties already waiting and at least a party of eight in front of us. There was a very outspoken stereotypical Nonna representing the party of eight...and who was really giving the host the business... Lol We found standing room at the bar where we decided to wait. The bartenders were doing a good job. There were a few people seated and we weren't the only ones waiting for a table... The decor inside is WAY more old school casual than Latin King. It's a little dated. I'd say it has a blue collar working man's feel to it... That works for me! I guess I'm still a little rough around the edges sometimes... Opened in 1998...
